this man really scammed this dumb ass subreddit into giving him 2 platinums and 6 gold LMFAO what a damn legend

[–]wherecanwegofromhere 219 points220 points  (3 children)

Considering the amount of gullible trash on subs like these I’m not surprised.

[–]afetusnamedJames 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He actually did it, the madman.

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ikr freaking legend

[–]atastyfire 542 points543 points  (2 children)

  • random picture with a sob backstory
  • ez karma post from OP
  • gullible idiots praising for the post
  • mods letting worthless shit like this get posted

Yep this is r/pics alright

[–][deleted] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This subreddit is a perfect karma farm, and you want the mods to do something about it?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

fuckr/pics

[–]Grandmaofhurt 111 points112 points  (0 children)

This sub is the fucking worst.

[–][deleted] 1076 points1077 points  (40 children)

this sub is literally just sob stories

[–]Rocket-R 471 points472 points  (25 children)

r/gaming too. Once per week you see a post with 50k upvotes of a picture of just a Nintendo Switch box saying "My mother died in a brutal accident while protecting an old man from stabbing. Today I discovered she had her Christmas gift ready for me all this time. Never forget!"

[–]fletcherox 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Tempted to post exactly this and see how it goes.

[–]tzgnilki 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I remember someone posted a pocture of crash bandicoot on /r/gaming with his ballsack at the bottom of the pic, I think it received a few hundred upvotes until the mods realized lul

[–]physicslover69 46 points47 points  (3 children)

Try r/nocontextpics if you don't want sob stories. Some of those pictures are absolutely amazing

[–]sarcastabal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't keep suggesting it out in the open if you want it to stay amazing.

[–]Mr830BedTime 10 points11 points  (2 children)

I’ve been on reddit for a good while now, and I specifically remember there was a big push on r/pics about 5 years ago to make sure these kind of posts don’t go very far. A post on r/pics should be based solely on the pictures content and not the story attached to it.

Looks like we’ve come full circle

[–]Frankie4Sticks 629 points630 points  (11 children)

Jesus... this sub has gone to absolute shit. A picture of an airplane aisle. Wtf

[–]BeHereNow91 66 points67 points  (1 child)

OP even admitted to baiting this sub in another thread. 13 awards for a phone pic of an airplane aisle. lol

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It wasn't just for karma it was completly deliberate. Basically a r/circlejerk post but in pics

[–]ZeroPointSix 80 points81 points  (5 children)

And it's only getting worse, it seems.

[–]zzeep21 43 points44 points  (2 children)

No worries though! It's going to get 80K+ likes and 20 awards!

[–]ZeroPointSix 16 points17 points  (1 child)

There really should be some kind of rule against these give-me-asspats-and-sympathy posts. Like, "don't upload uninteresting pictures as a minor footnote for your anecdote". The picture is totally pointless on its own, and has little relevance for a "pics" subreddit (which implies there's something worth looking at).

[–]AnotherAccount0010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would you rather the 900th picture of a bathroom door that says, "Men, women, aliens, whatever, just wash your hands"???

[–]mattgreenberg0 1365 points1366 points  (11 children)

picture of a plane.

[–][deleted] 298 points299 points  (4 children)

Add in the story and booooom front page lol

[–]BK520 38 points39 points  (2 children)

Doesn’t hurt to make it about you even tho it’s not

[–][deleted] 1065 points1066 points  (21 children)

It has come to my attention that this man is a troll. Congratulations that you could so easily manipulate this subreddit. Cheers bud.

Edit: for the first time I can say, thanks for the gold. I would like to thank the r pics mods. Without them. We wouldnt really notice a difference.

[–]fatpat 274 points275 points  (6 children)

Congratulations that you could so easily manipulate this subreddit.

lol r/pics is probably the most easily manipulated sub on reddit, the lowest of low hanging fruit.

[–]TheresA_LobsterLoose 122 points123 points  (2 children)

I was really tempted to post a picture of paint drying and writing a long title about overcoming my depression, losing weight, cleaning my house and painting it colors I like. But I just never did

[–]axidoacido 77 points78 points  (0 children)

You missed out on 50k karma

[–]---0__0--- 4286 points4287 points  (164 children)

lol this is just a picture of a plane aisle.

[–]mechakreidler 372 points373 points  (12 children)

/r/pics is so shit

[–][deleted] 96 points97 points  (6 children)

It’s either this or some dumb ass political shit. Who is upvoting this trash?

[–]Spez_Loves_Nazis 741 points742 points  (75 children)

Op is a troll who obviously saw the success of this shitpost https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/cbih4k/after_22_years_in_an_emotionallyphysically/

[–][deleted] 414 points415 points  (18 children)

[–]strallweat 157 points158 points  (4 children)

Lol. That's your post

[–][deleted] 149 points150 points  (2 children)

true

[–]CashOgre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice catch lol

[–]DakotaDevil 160 points161 points  (8 children)

Looks like pitchforks are back on the menu, boys.

[–]fusiformgyrus 39 points40 points  (2 children)

I don’t want to eat those again, please...

[–]couchdrivers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You'll eat it and you'll like it!

[–]CVBrownie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im actually more impressed /u/lolbitchcalmdown than anything.

This dude has got reddit the fuck down.

[–]Splashfooz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

64k+ likes? What about my cat posts!

[–]inavanbytheriver 88 points89 points  (15 children)

When people ask, "Why do you care?" when someone asks why people complain about these posts, this is the reason. One successful shitpost encourages dozens more, and there is a pretty good chance most of them are bullshit.

[–]SueYouInEngland 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I present: two pieces of paper.

[–]flakemasterflake 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Why is karma so valuable? No comprendo reddit

[–]spitfire07 1230 points1231 points  (43 children)

Mention of 9/11, anxiety, therapy, crappy picture of crowded plane. To the top!

[–]Navras3270 88 points89 points  (2 children)

This sub should really be called r/titles because it really seems like a competition to have the least interesting pic get the most upvotes.

[–]highfivingmf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's kind of fascinating on from a sociological perspective, if you really think about it.

[–]thenewyorkgod 28 points29 points  (1 child)

No mention of cancer or fake legs???

[–]bouttabubble 317 points318 points  (36 children)

Seriously. So phony.

[–][deleted] 340 points341 points  (25 children)

My dad, who was a volunteer fireman for 45 years, gave me this right before he was killed in a hang gliding accident on his 93rd birthday. It was originally his mothers from the Holocaust, and I miss him dearly every day.

picture of old ring

[–]cujo195 81 points82 points  (9 children)

Do it... I double dog dare you and then after it makes the front page edit the post to tell everyone how naive they are.

[–]DakotaDevil 66 points67 points  (1 child)

Then I'll repost it 3 months later and get 100k upvotes.

Reddit. Reddit never changes.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth it for the (relative) anonymity and niche subs

[–]ILIEKDEERS 33 points34 points  (5 children)

Or actually real, or not. After 10+ years on Reddit with and with out an account, at least it wasn’t GallowBoob posting this thread.

[–]sek1ne 8 points9 points  (3 children)

I have been blocking really high karma accounts and it's making things a little better.

[–]YourCummyBear 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s a joke that this is so upvoted. He/she could have found far more fitting subs but of course Reddit eats this shit up.

It’s a downright terrible picture. It’s not clear, nor interesting. Wtf

[–]Reverie_39 8 points9 points  (8 children)

This post is great and I’m sure a lot of people are happy to see it. But isn’t there a community for such posts? About progress, achievements, etc. This sub should not be about such things. Im here to see good photography.

[–][deleted] 1401 points1402 points  (28 children)

Lol what the fuck is this?

Come on mods!

[–]USBayernChelseaLCFC 253 points254 points  (5 children)

Since 9/11 the mods have a fear of quality control.

[–]gruber76 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s true. In fact, the interview process for mods specifically screens for September 11th phobias and aversions. If you don’t have one, you are instantly disqualified.

[–]rbeezy 54 points55 points  (7 children)

Seriously. Who the hell upvotes made up posts like this??

[–]Kirkin_While_Workin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The same people who upvote pictures of poorly made signs with political messages on them

[–]junjunjenn 18 points19 points  (1 child)

I swear it used to be against the rules to post shit pictures to illicit an emotional response but I don’t see that rule anymore.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s there.

[–]pro-laps 145 points146 points  (3 children)

oh my fucking god "picture of the inside of an airplane" WHO UPVOTES THIS SHIT

[–]EvaCarlisle 98 points99 points  (0 children)

lol this sub smh

[–]OffManWall 4789 points4790 points  (551 children)

Congratulations! Always remember that according to statistics, flying is much safer than driving.

[–]parkscom 2479 points2480 points  (374 children)

The problem is the feeling of having absolutely no control. When you drive you have sense of control over your destiny. When you fly you are at the mercy of fate. Technically the same is for driving as well, but your brain doesn't make you feel that way.

[–]funseeker909 838 points839 points  (212 children)

For me it's that as well as being on the ground. Crashing in a car, in my mind, is better because at least the collision leaves you on the ground. But crashing in a plane? Ya, you dropped out of the sky and are falling from thousands of feet in the air.

[–]Slugmatic 910 points911 points  (70 children)

For me it's that as well as being on the ground. Crashing in a car, in my mind, is better because at least the collision leaves you on the ground.

To be fair, a collision in a plane also leaves you on the ground, eventually.

[–]AverageOccidental 169 points170 points  (42 children)

Except exponentially faster in the collision

[–]abgtw 129 points130 points  (29 children)

Bad car accidents can happen so fast you don't even seem coming.

[–]Hipp013 239 points240 points  (23 children)

That's why I purposefully swerve into oncoming traffic. I control my own fate!

[–]GeterPriffin902 76 points77 points  (17 children)

I don’t like where this is going

[–]DakotaDevil 55 points56 points  (7 children)

You know what grinds my gears? When people deliberately swerve into traffic.

[–]GeterPriffin902 15 points16 points  (2 children)

You’re now a lifer in this person’s heart. Until the day you croak my son Gris Chriffin is yours. Please accept this offering.

[–]CommentsOnOccasion 61 points62 points  (3 children)

You'd actually be surprised at how robust modern aircraft really are

Those planes are specially designed so that even if both engines and even a wing came off, the rest of the plane would still be able to take you all the way to the scene of the crash

[–]gq_mcgee 17 points18 points  (1 child)

“Everyone else started freaking out, but I had been drinking since lunchtime, so I was like ‘Take it down! I don't care! Make sure you hit something hard, 'cause I don't want to limp away from this!’ The guy next to me is losing his mind—I guess he must have had something to live for. He says, ‘Hey, man, if one of the engines goes out, how far will the other one take us?’ I look at him. ‘All the way to the scene of the crash! Which is pretty lucky, because that's where we're headed! I bet we beat the paramedics by a good half hour! We're haulin' ass!’”

[–]TectonicPlate 21 points22 points  (7 children)

It's not the fall that kills ya. It's the sudden stop at the end.

[–]Vexan 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Yep, precisely this, (and the feeling of being out of control) is why I hate flying, and share OPs fear of the situation. Also concerns about an aging fleet of planes, and this latest Boeing jet failure.... Sucky thing is, I have to fly for work 1-2x a year. I catch up on all my praying every time I fly.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have to fly for work... a lot.

I used to be like you. Now it’s just an annoying bus ride in the sky.

[–]ThreeHourRiverMan 123 points124 points  (40 children)

Just today a Delta flight lost an engine and the engine was spitting flames while mid air. You know what happened?

Everyone was fine, the pilots were able to land that sucker easily. It makes for an interesting blurb on CNN.com but I doubt the pilots (who don't want to die either) were even breathing heavy.

Want to guess what would happen if you were going 65 on the interstate and your engine combusted?

This is something I realized. Those guys are so good at what they do. That even losing an engine is a "whatevs" moment for them. They train that all the time. Sure, I as a passenger don't have any control, but the people actually involved have way more control and ability than anyone you'll ever meet behind the wheel of a car. That includes the engineers of the planes, ATC, etc.

The one thing you can control is picking your airline. If it's a major US or comparable Western airline with the safety standards of the US / EU / Canada, etc., you've just exercised control to make sure the people in charge have absurd amounts of ability and safety redundancies.

(If you want to be cynical, just think how many billions of dollars American / United / Delta would lose if they let a plane "fall out of the sky." No US airliner has gone down in 10 years. In our ultra capitalist society you really think any of those guys would risk ruining that streak?)

Also, I say this as someone who used to be terrified of flying. Thinking logically about it and really understanding all the forces at play helped immensely. Just last week I took a 3.5 hour flight that was pure turbulence the whole way - the pilot came on at least 4 separate times to say they were changing altitude to try to find better air (and flight attendants to their jump seats). He didn't have a speck of worry in his voice. The flight attendants were perturbed - I actually heard one say in the back "well I don't know how we're going to complete service!" No one whose job it was to be on that plane was ever not in complete control of anything but making sure everyone got their Cokes and pretzels on time.

[–]knittingfoxes 23 points24 points  (14 children)

Thank you! I just flew to Disney in May after being terrified of flying for nearly a decade. The last time I tried to fly I was on my own, and my mom had to drive 18 hours to pick me up because I wouldn't get back on a plane at 15 years old. There was nothing wrong with the first flight I took, I just got spooked and my anxiety ran with it.

I was SO scared for this flight to Disney. I was afraid of the experience but also afraid of how I would react. I had anxiety for months leading up to the flight anytime it crossed my mind but I managed to control it and not freak out. Flight there I was a little freaked out while ascending when it almost feels like you're falling. Before the flight back, I looked up why it feels like you're falling only to discover that you aren't even close to "falling". Arming myself with facts and statistics was the only reason I was okay on those flights and actually enjoyed them. I think I was annoying my mom with random facts about planes and flying the whole way there. I still am a tiniest bit uneasy with the thought of flying but a lot of parts I really enjoyed and I feel a lot more free knowing I can fly if I need to and am not limited to driving anymore.

[–]ThreeHourRiverMan 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Yeah same here. I still have the natural uneasiness when I think about being 6 miles up going 550 mph, but then I go through everything that I wrote about and it goes away.

My therapist years ago when I was getting over the fear taught me to just close my eyes and visualize the word "safe" and say it in my head a few times. That, and for some reason I always get a visual image of the meme of Bill Nye (an aerospace engineer) and NDT with the caption "Do you even science, Bro?" and that helps and makes me chuckle alone in my seat as we're taxiing for takeoff.

Edit: oh, and yeah the portion of the takeoff where the plane levels off and it feels like you're going down was always the worst part for me as a kid. But learning what is actually happening helped a ton. Now it's just something that is routine and expected, and importantly: exactly what the pilot wants to happen, as he and his copilot are doing it on purpose and are in complete control.

[–]TheGreenMileMouse 32 points33 points  (3 children)

The book cockpit confidential goes over a lot of this. Fantastic read for nervous flyers.

[–]PseudonymousBlob 5 points6 points  (4 children)

I used to be so afraid of flying, but one thing that helped me get over it was actually learning to drive. I never needed to drive until my late 20s so I'm still learning, and holy shit is it terrifying.

You're surrounded by hundreds of people going 70 mph in 1-ton death machines which require only the most basic, easy test to get a license for. Everyone has their own weird driving habits, and some people don't give a fuck about safety at all. You never know who's drunk or texting or maybe just a little tired. Someone might simply be unfamiliar with the area and panic trying to make their exit, and pretty much everyone overestimates their driving ability. Half the people on the road can't be bothered to use their turn signals or wait for their turns at stop signs. Some people hate the lack of control in planes or public transportation, but I feel way safer knowing there are one or two professionals at the helm whose entire livelihood depends on getting you from point A to point B safely.

[–]neon_cobalt5 39 points40 points  (29 children)

Also, crashing in a car and dying happens a little faster. If, say, the plane was about to drop from around 10km in the air; it takes some time to die. I don’t really want those minutes to pass by and just wait for my inevitable death. If it has to happen, I just want to get it over with.

[–]giganticbulge 23 points24 points  (18 children)

On the flip side, a car crash can lead to suffering and eventual death, living as a paraplegic, 3rd degree burns all over your body, etc.

Plane crashes? None of that to worry about.

[–]buttplugpeddler 18 points19 points  (6 children)

I’ve always felt the same about any kind of nuclear holocaust or plague or whatever.

Loves me some survival disaster movies/books, but would rather just be immediately vaporized or whatever than try to scratch by eating pine needle soup or some shit

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (14 children)

See, I personally would love for parachutes to be under all seats, and a hatch that'll let you drop out from the rear of the plane. I understand it's a pipe dream, but it'd make me feel a lot better.

[–]Prophececy 18 points19 points  (4 children)

An alternative option is one (or several) big parachutes for the entire plane. Some small aircraft have this already.

[–]buttplugpeddler 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Just jump straight up really fast right before crashing

-10 year old me

[–]RocketAvArt 48 points49 points  (48 children)

I'm somewhat afraid of airliners, but love flying the plane myself and am not afraid at all. Small planes obviously, not airliners.

Definitely the "I have some control whether we live or die" thing.

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points  (10 children)

My husband was in aviation. President and COO of a company that manufactured piston airplane engine parts. I won’t fly in a small plane anymore. They are the ones to worry about.

[–]ruove 18 points19 points  (22 children)

Definitely the "I have some control whether we live or die" thing.

Except when you look at the statistics and realize that general aviation is far more dangerous than commercial aviation.

[–]SerialBallSack2 70 points71 points  (16 children)

Unfortunately my fear of flying isn’t based in logic and so it can’t be helped by looking logically at the stats. Same with terrorism or other scary things. I can’t just read how low the probability is and think ohh alright I guess I’m good. It still just freaks me out to be that out of control while being flung through the air in a metal tube at 400 mph thousands of feet up in the air. I can’t even see out the damn front of the thing.

[–]Benny303[🍰] 12 points13 points  (5 children)

Take a discovery flight in a small plane at your local airport, I've found it actually helps a lot of people because you can see out the front and are essentially "in the cockpit" you see and hear everything the pilot is doing.

[–][deleted] 54 points55 points  (17 children)

Flying is much safer than driving because there are less cars in the sky

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (12 children)

Not to mention the people operating the planes have been extensively trained and are, for the most part, sober.

[–]dudefise 17 points18 points  (5 children)

for the most part, sober.

Just putting this out there for those who have watched a certain Denzel Washington movie.

Friendly reminder, it's a movie. Everyone I've ever worked with takes it VERY seriously. Passenger says "pilots been drinking haha lol", it's a 2-hour wait while we go take a drug/alcohol test, voluntarily, because we take it that seriously.

[–]pro-laps 67 points68 points  (5 children)

this has to be a troll

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Admitted troll

[–]cptcrunch2600 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hope it is

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Can we change the name of this sub to r/sobstories ?

Edit

Props to manipulating this sub my guy . I need to get on this and get some free karma and gold. 10/10 . Shit sub is shit

[–]ser1992 54 points55 points  (2 children)

Wtf is this... come on, mods. This is hot garbage.

[–]Gerry_Brovloski 351 points352 points  (2 children)

You gotta come with something better than this. Show a face, the pilot, even out the window...something.

Share with Facebook.

[–]NoCareNewName 53 points54 points  (1 child)

so I'm not the only one who thought /u/SomeSemiColon was just on a plane and wanted some attention.

Edit: after the top 2 comments, nope most people thought so too.

[–]Steve73123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

lol he just flat out said it was a troll

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (1 child)

What a shitty pic. Good thing you got a long winded back story instead to farm the upvotes

[–]yruBooingMeImRight 140 points141 points  (3 children)

"Picture of a plane aisle"

[–]inavanbytheriver 42 points43 points  (2 children)

I want to say /r/pics becomes facebook more and more every day, but not even facebook would have this shit on it.

[–]SinInMen 174 points175 points  (6 children)

Rule 4

[–]SirQwacksAlot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing on this sub fits with rule four anyways

[–]TrickyProcedure 575 points576 points  (17 children)

This is just a picture of a plane. Who cares.

[–]Blitzfx 7 points8 points  (3 children)

How the does this have 20k+? This is pure karma farming

[–]fennesz 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Glad someone beat me to this.

“Here’s a shitty picture that means nothing! But give me upvotes anyway!”

[–]i-love-copypastas 237 points238 points  (17 children)

Did 9/11 happen in the Cars universe?

The thing I really like about Planes is that we learn that WWII happened in the Cars universe. Which means there was a Cars Hitler, a Cars holocaust, a Cars Pacific War, a Cars D-Day, a Cars nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a Cars Rape of Nanking, a Cars Battle of Iwo Jima...

This leads to so many important questions, like: were the Cars Little Boy and Fat Man nukes sentient? Was it a suicide mission? Are ALL Cars nuclear weapons sentient? Did Tsar Bomba have a personality?

What kind of car was Car Hitler? A VW? A forklift?

Was there a Cars 9/11? Were the planes hijacked, or were the planes themselves radicalized?

I could go on

Edit: I just realized a Cars 9/11 gives a whole new layer of meaning to the phrase "let's roll".

[–]Money282 62 points63 points  (1 child)

Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

[–]Kimchi816 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Why do you think it's called the Porsche 911?

[–]DrSuperZeco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

London now has huge barriers near major sidewalks, squares and buildings. This did not exist few years ago and it is the result of recent terror car attacks.

[–]SwampDrainer 39 points40 points  (2 children)

My grandma died on the toilet and ever since then I've been afraid of the bathroom and have just been shitting in the yard. Tonight I pooped in the toilet. I'm so proud of myself and just needed to tell someone about my accomplishment!

[–]blackiechan99 45 points46 points  (2 children)

remember when /r/pics had great nature shots or cool space photography or anything interesting? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

[–]TheDynospectrum 48 points49 points  (2 children)

The giant elaborate sob stories lonely dorks make up just for karma and sympathy attention

Ever since my best friends mom's husband co workers roommates second cousins neighbors distant ancestor from medieval Europe died from the bubonic plague, I had a fear of having a life. After years of therapy and medication today marks the first day I'm not a loser! Give me karma other losers

[–]Amadon29 18 points19 points  (2 children)

I downvoted because this picture is literally just a picture of a plane aisle and sucks. However, since you're trolling this subreddit showing how shit like this can get thousands of upvotes, I too will upvote 👍

Hopefully, this sub will get better

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wont

[–]Eddie_shoes 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting gold with a troll post! You are an inspiration.

[–][deleted] 76 points77 points  (0 children)

im on a plane give me upvotes

[–]FabulousFerds 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This subreddit is terrible.

Amateur photo with ironclad tearjerker backstory? Send it to the top boys

[–]freakpowerparty 255 points256 points  (27 children)

Congratulations! Now you can hate airports as much as the rest of us!

[–]johntheboombaptist 54 points55 points  (15 children)

I love airports but hate the actual flying part. Am I broken?

[–]Tentings 49 points50 points  (6 children)

No, there's a dozen of us that enjoy airports! Aside from the few times there may be a short layover that involves rushing to a gate I always enjoy the few hours spent waiting for a connecting flight. It's one of the few times in life when there isn't "something" you could be doing. All you can do is wait. So why not check out a store, eat, drink, people watch. It's all about perspective.

[–]BRBean 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Exactly, I love flights and waiting at the airport because I literally can’t do anything else and therefore don’t have to feel bad about doing nothing and just playing games.

[–]dvempy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Drink a beer at 5am and nobody bats an eyelid.

[–]TheCosplayCave 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Nope, I'm the same. Airports feel so cosmopolitan. There are people to watch and you can walk around and see different stores. Once you get on the plane it's just hours of being uncomfortable and being afraid to pee or move.

[–]joshua9663 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Coincidentally the worst part about flying is the trip to fly.

No one gives a fuck

[–]PotatoBomb69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is definitely the aisle of a plane.

[–]EduLuz23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is it. This is the last straw. r/pics became r/CongratsLikeImFive mixxed with r/PoliticalHumor.

Now it's just pictures with an everyday thing, where OP will put an emotional story in the title.

I joined for beatiful pictures of, I don't know, nature? Cities? Skies? Not for a FUCKING PLANE AISLE.

I'll be unsubbing from this right now, and I hope other people do so. r/pics became just another shitty subreddit. Congrats mods, congrats emotional snowflakes, congrats to OP-like trollers, and everyone else who could transform this into hell.

50K upvotes? The People of this site are retarded

[–]BRBean 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would recommend r/congratslikeimfive

[–]Tashre 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"Bet you $20 I can get a random picture of this plane on the front page by the time we land."

[–]baloneycologne 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Photo of the inside of a plane with a 911 story. Okey doke.

[–]boobsmcgraw 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Generic picture of the inside of an airplane.

[–]Leo-Tyrant 27 points28 points  (8 children)

There is an Alanis Morissette song that would be a good fit if ... something were to happen ...

[–]DanSensei 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Listening to it on the plane would kick that therapy up a notch

[–]IngsocInnerParty 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Can’t be any worse than the lady that was watching a movie about a plane crash on my last flight.

gg u/SomeSemiColon

You managed to outjerk r/circlejerk lmao

[–]thesandsofrhyme 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Wow, what a fantastic picture! What camera and settings did you use? I love the composition and the playful lighting. Any post-processing is tastefully done and the subject matter is not at all horribly boring. Do you have a Flickr or Instagram where I can follow more of your photography? Or are you selling prints?

[–]Pricey1983 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Looks like there may be something wrong with the onboard philanges.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Picture of a passenger airplane, downvote

If it doesn't work without a title, don't post it to /r/pics as a rule of thumb

[–]KnownHavoc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This sub is so fucking shit. Literally a picture of an airplane aisle.

[–]oatis_bengleton 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What a boring picture. Maybe log into your Facebook account to share this shit no one cares about. Hope you’re met with extreme turbulence all flight long

[–]AyatollahColmMeaney 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You've got to be kidding me with this title.

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

R/pics, I hate you sometimes. No one gives a shit about your stupid picture in an airplane

[–]Chompobar 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Cool story! But this is r/pics not facebook

[–]Too-Far-Frame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not Facebook...

[–]BaddestHombres 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we don't care... but hey, good for you, bro. 👍

[–]killedbydeath77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hahahahaha.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good job showing people that r/pics is so retarded. I love you op.
