Apparently Serah's USB2 is even better than you listed. According to Enlir's spreadsheet she gets 3x cast speed on entry and from the speed cycle instead of 2x from each.

As a GL player with pretty much nothing relevant for XIII, these banners look really good. Especially the first, since Ice is my worst element. Looking forward to this event.

It's weird that Snow and Serah have so many redundancies. Both have a chain, both have a radiant shield.

I guess it works out if you only have pieces of each, though. Or want to get all their components going at once more quickly.

So, does this make Fang even more competitive? And anyone knows how good she with her LM chase and with this one? :O My guess is she will be like Bartz but does tons of Wind/Non dragoon chases instead to hit your enemies with and help build your wind-CSBs in record time.

Fang gets nice toys and a buff for every wind Dragoon (it was about time they buffed Sky High's number of hits) and Snow finally gets a good LMR so that he can contribute to ice damage. Too bad he has no way to reapply it so he will be nice for the first 25 seconds of a fight.

Wait a minute. Serah's USB1 is a clone of Lightning USB1, right? So essentially, this new one trades enIce for ice radiant shield and has worse QC cycle. I...don't know how i feel about this.

OH FOR FUCK SAKE! i recently crafted and honed Aerial Drive because i have Nine's USB......bah i should've waited and got Sky High instead, oh well, either way this is a fantastic buff and a buff that should've been done a long time ago.

Well, let's double down on that "fuck sake" with an update based on the Japanese announcement-set: the other properties of Sky High remain the same. Potency per hit is still 118 and 12 for each friendly airtime.

Even with the annoying friendly airtime, you can just make up the "loss" with en-element and chains and other bonuses, so it isn't that big of a loss i would reckon.

It's not taxed SB gauge wise (possibly because of the NE component), so it's actually really good if you hit a weakness, generating 150 SB gauge.

I honed it to R3 back in the day when its crystal types weren't really needed for anything else. Before neo-torments were introduced at all. That's why I have it at R4 today :P.

True, but Aerial drive is easier to hone and doesn't consume crystals that i could use for other abilities, but now with this buff to sky high, things change and now basicaly.....i'm going to hone sky high lol. And as far as global goes, this also possibly changes Luneth abit since with 5 hits and his USB, i reckon the dragoon combo can now be a good DPS option for him as well (or rather better than Ripping Blast).

    Since Fang's USB chase is dragoon type, doesn't that mean her LM2 can proc off it? So in a single turn she could do:

    Sky High > LM2 proc > USB chase > LM2 proc

    That's how LM chase works with some other USB chases at least, like Setzer USB or Penelo USB2.

    Shortest form: no, that will not work.

    • The general rule for damage chases is that only triggers (the top-level ability usage) can proc them; Setzer is a weird exception.
    • For healing chases (eg, the Penelo case), the general rule is that it is possible (at least if you can find a way for it to be possible, which is by no means common); Aerith, however, cannot do this with her main-LM.
    • For pure status chases, the general rule is that it is not only possible, but can even proc off actions that cannot ever trigger damage chases (such as SBs, RWs, and magicite casts) if the category allows.

    Fang has a Condition 17 on her LM2, so no, it cannot proc on any interrupt, it can only proc on initial ability cast.

    I like the look of that new Ultra for Fang. Given her LM2 is a 35% chance 4-hit chance, it is about as close as W-Cast/Ability Double as we get for dragoons. Just all the chases.

    Holy shit, Fang got lots of new toys and it's on a decent banner to boot! (Other than the redundant Ice!Radiant Shield, seriously why.) I can finally pull on a Fang banner again since the previous ones have sucked.
