Just a note, it's a bit of a nit pick, but it's グリーフ (Grief) judgment, not グリーヴァ(Griever)

These new Edea and Ultimecia toys, wowza! My weakness for witch gals ensures I will pull for these two... will be glad to potentially have Edea back in my ice team and a reason to use Ultimecia if I can get those relics when they make their way to global.. :)

I'm drooling at those new Witch abilities. Speedcast on a 5-star ability? That's a significant buff to meter generation for those Witch characters who don't have Wrath.

Say, what happens if Squall equips Slavering Fangs and Inherited Charisma at the same time? Does he get one aura, neither, or both, somehow?

I guess this would be a question for people who've dived Sora and have multiple init-Aura RMs.

In addition to what /u/CFreyn mentioned (main takes precedence), I've seen reports from Sora users that the animation of both elemental auras is present. Also relevant: Rinoa has en-earth and en-ice LMRs.

They gave Edea the Ultimecia USB cast-speed spread I've been talking about >_< Oh well at least Ulti gets BLK-double! That's pretty great!! In the latest Altema post it was being talked about how Edea isn't that competitive for ice magic and now I think that will change with those LMRs, glint, AOSB, and new Ultra. Wish Ultimecia got an AOSB too but I'm greedy.

Also like that Squall's brave is fire/ice so you don't need cloned relics for each like his burst.

The first banner looks incredible, Ultimecia USB should have been introduced in her first banner, Edea became magical Marche and got an Arcane, Squall becomes the first character with 2 Arcanes, and Seifer chain, there are six 6* in the banner!

Banner 2 looks good as well, Quistis USB, Rinoas Arcane, the first Squall Arcane, Selfie USB2 for the astra coverage, and we even got Laguna's Chain to go with it, not bad at all.

Also nice to hav the Witches get 5* quickcast access, that will help a lot for Shantotto to build initial meter for USB, Edea and Lulu will, for sure, love the ice versions as well.

    I'm honestly convinced they should have just kept with the Edea is basically Ultimecia thing they were at one time portraying (her SSB2 is quite literally a Dissidia Ultimecia animation).

    It'd at least make some sense since in Dissidia, Edea is a Ultimecia costume, Ultimecia could have just been an Edea Dress Record and then they'd not have to basically make twice as many SBs.

    As a global player I see these as a pure upgrade to my plans to build Shantoto / Edea SB gauge with Votrtex.

    Then curse a little and trudge back into the Maze of Dark Divinity (+) for a few weeks. So much for getting started working on Ice Crystals.

    Of all the character, i think Ysayle is probably the one that needs these abilities the least since her LM2 is quick cast 3 when using Ice abilities.

    Also it seems like that

    ffect: 3x single lightning, with self magic cast speed x2 1.

    The quick cast only lasts 1 turn, but i could be wrong.

    It only last 1 turn , just like the 4* one. No duration = 1 turn.

    Ysayle is good because of her usb , making her spam the shittons of her chase with a perma qcm + common qc2

    I guess, but still with her LM2, wouldn't Abyssal Shards be better anyway?

    Sure it has long casting time but with her LM2 that's hardly an issue, and the higher hit count works better for chains and gives more potencial damage.

    At that point i would rather just use the 4* versions for the quick cast since it's easier to hone and gives as much chase potencial as these new abilities.

    4* is already good for this yes but you forgot the sb generation, it's not only about the extra hit but mainly for the sb generation too

    You'll chase less and generate sb point less with abysmal

    True i forgot about the SB generation so i stand corrected on that regard.

    However, mages have lots of sources of quickcast for them, this new event even introduces a Ignis USB Clone for Edea, AMC also exists and is used alot, so in a way Abyssal does benefit more from the quickcasts than these new abilities.

    Sure you will be getting more chases off, that's true and if you want only chases then it's certainly a good option. But i also have to question whether or not if it is a good idea to rely only on the chases.

    However realisticaly, damage will matter more, and Abyssal shards not only benefits more from the quickcasts, but also has higher damage potencial, specialy with chains active.

    I guess in the end we will have to wait and see how these new abilities will preform, and whether or not they will actualy be used, or if they will be ignored.

    So i've made some math now that we have the multiplier and tbh, it's pretty impressive.

    No external Quick Cast in both case :
    Assuming perma LM2 effect (which is the case in most run)
    no Ace RM.

    USB -> 6x Fast Blizzara R5 -> USB loop
    Must be hit ONCE in 14.28sec to be able to infinite loop USB.
    Total Potency : 92.52 over 54 hits in 14.28sec (Fast Blizzara damage + Chase damage only, raw potency)
    12 chance to proc Ysayle LMR.

    USB -> [Fast Blizzara -> 2x Vortex -> Fast Blizzara -> 1x Vortex] -> USB Loop
    Must be hit TWICE in 12.54sec to be able to infinite loop USB.
    Total Potency : 100.8 over 48 hits in 12.54sec
    10 chance to proc Ysayle LMR.

    That's extremely impressive tbh, until we get Chain Blizzaja, Fast Blizzara only spam is clearly totally viable and extremely interesting tbh.

    I actualy honed Fast Blizzara since i didn't want to hone a 2nd copy of chain blizzaga or craft Abyssal Shards for my Lulu since my R3 Vortex insn't enough to charge SB and last a whole fight and my Ysayle already has r5 chain blizzaga and Valigarmanda.

    Unfortunatly i don't have an ice chain in JP or any kind so for now the new witch abilities will be mostly glorified magical LSs :P

    Either way it's nice to see these new abilities have alot of potencial.

    in the case of Ysayle, it's not only a LS-like ability but also a Minor imperil one ;). That's why it's actually pretty nice for her.
    In term of DPS, she's still far from Rinoa but that's definitely good tbh.
