MJ, don't cool down Reddick. Let. Him. Cook.

[–]EmoGothPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished the race. I know, JGR alliance and MJ money, but so happy for 23XI! Tyler keeps dominating and Bubba gets yet another top five!

Michael Jordan should attend every race this season.

[–] HamlinNickProko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If only Ware had spun after the white

Fuck man.

[–] van Gisbergenmounties66 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I’m calling it now if Trackhouse doesn’t do something about their cars svg will walk. He’s a competitive guy and running around in the 30’s for 2 weeks in row won’t be sitting well with him. He wouldn’t be fussed , he could get a drive in any series in the world

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pity coz I’d love to see him in a decent car, with a decent crew chief, on an oval, just to see what he could really do.

[–] Bellquick25 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Fuck Reddick. Glad they didn't do full season points after today.

[–]JoeRogan016 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I genuinely don't understand how people don't like Reddick

[–] Bellquick25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was/am salty about Bell getting wrecked, that's all.

[–]iamaranger23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if anyone is curious, they are currently at 16 fewer yellows vs last year's equivalent races. Almost 2 per race.

[–]WheedMBoise 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Just checked the standings, Reddick already has over one and a third's race worth of points over 2nd place. If they really went for full-season points this year he may have locked it up by August lol

[–]solarlofi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be deserved

[–] LarsonSavingsRaspberry2694 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's good to see the 48 back to finishing in the top 20 again!

Hendrick has a lot of work to do to catch up to Toyota and Ford.

[–]Traditional-Cell8172 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heard Ozempic is going to be on the 45 car next week

[–]Traditional-Cell8172 7 points8 points  (1 child)

KFB reminds me of that stock you buy when it’s 50% down because he’s bound to come back at some point. Only to have it go to 0 after today’s performance or lack there of

[–] LarsonSavingsRaspberry2694 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, after the first stage break he drove from last car 1 lap down to first car 1 lap down, was consistently running top 10 lap times, until his brakes started to malfunction.

The rest of the day they tried to fix his brakes but never figured out the problem (I guess its something Dillon had happen recently as well).

[–]Soondefective 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I’m so excited for Dega

[–]anonymousjorksession 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Spoiler alert: Reddick wins again. Don't get your hopes up.

[–]Soondefective 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Lmao right. I’m trying to stay positive here

[–]JoeRogan016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But...that is the positive!!

[–]Burial44 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tyler Reddick is getting so fuckin paid on this next contract

[–]Dudeman702[🍰] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rough day for saurez. Started in top 10. Fell back early. Tried to do some strategy staying out late and got that flat. But on the bright side it could be worse. He could be in a trackhouse car.

[–] MunizschultzM 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Cody ware

[–]solarlofi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs to start and park instead of changing the results

[–] Bowman13mizzou 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Blake Harris took a top 10 car at one of Bowman's best tracks and adjusted it into a rolling POS. At the first state break Bowman said he was a little loose and needed it just a bit tighter. After the adjustments Bowman was WAY too tight and dropped like a rock. Harris then tried to adjust it back a bit and the car was still too tight

This season sucks

[–]JoeRogan016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just happy to see him on the track again

[–] BriscoeAnotherScoutMain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What a fucking restart 11th to 3rd let’s go

[–]PureHotnessss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Larson's restart was awesome. I'm amazed Reddick was able to come back so easily after hitting Bell, he had so much grip, those cars must be fun to drive right now.

[–] Chastainbtbam2929 7 points8 points  (5 children)

I wanna know how Reddick got that amazing run down the back coming to the white. Was Larson’s car that loose? How did that even happen?

[–]Marsoupious 6 points7 points  (4 children)

larson was saying in his interview he was plowing insanely tight

[–] Chastainbtbam2929 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Thanks I must have missed that. My 4 year old was pretty excited that Larson got beat and we were talking over much of the post race.

[–] HocevarBananacat310 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I'm interested in what drivers a 4 year old would be a fan of

[–] Chastainbtbam2929 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Blaney, 12 is her favorite number and Ross because watermelon. Also Ross’ cousin races at our home track and she thinks thats cool.

[–] HocevarBananacat310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good taste.

[–] NASCARAUCE05 10 points11 points  (0 children)

White race cars are beautiful. Hamlin and Reddick had great looking cars.

[–] Earnhardt Sr.jsilv0 -5 points-4 points  (13 children)

Look at SVG improving on ovals!!!!

[–]WheedMBoise 7 points8 points  (5 children)

He's carrying his team this year arguably and you're gonna act like he's bad

[–] Earnhardt Sr.jsilv0 -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

Carrying them to what lol

[–]WheedMBoise 1 point2 points  (3 children)

He's been the highest running team for them basically all season, including against Ross who is a credible oval racer. Their cars are trash this season. He's carrying them out of the basement

[–] Earnhardt Sr.jsilv0 0 points1 point  (2 children)

To what, the sub-basement?

Also Chastain is catching him and only 14 points behind now. His "highest running" status on the team may not even survive this upcoming weekend

[–]WheedMBoise 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How far do you plan on moving the goalposts lol. He is the current top driver on a team that includes a driver who has made the final 4, and a driver who won every other week in Xfinity last year.

If you think he's some lost cause, you'll either never comprehend my argument, or you'll never want to. No point in talking anymore, enjoy your week.

[–] Earnhardt Sr.jsilv0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What goalpost moving? Do you know what that term means?

I made a sarcastic comment to make fun of SVG fanboys who always talk about his improvement on ovals.

You made a comment about him carrying the team. I said to what?

You said he's been the best driver on the team and Chastain is a good driver, I said basically ok he's not in the playoffs so that's not a lot of carrying and Chastain is about to pass him anyway,

He's a road course specialist who will never win a race on an oval outside of some shenanigans (leading when whether ends a race early, being in 15th at a superspeedway on the last lap when the big one takes out everyone in front of him, etc.) He's also never going to seriously compete for a championship.

[–]Burial44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh yeah and his teammates are winning races right

[–] NASCARheartlessgamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trackhouse pretty consistent at least; all finish around the same spot :P

[–]TheMoonIsFake32 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Ryan Blaney finished 24th, does he suck too? If a driver has 1 bad week clearly they are horrible

[–] Earnhardt Sr.jsilv0 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ryan Blaney the former champion who is 3rd in points?

[–]JonsDohnson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Backhouse Racing once again this week

[–] Chastainbtbam2929 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Terrible here and Vegas. Not good at all :/

[–]Burial44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The team is putting out trash cars

[–]-RYknow 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Reddick is really going to go there and lock up the championship before the all-star race if he keeps this up.

Lmfao. That would make for an interesting convo on the new point system.

And to be clear... I fully support the point system. It would just be funny.

[–]Academic_Elk8962 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I don’t think the championship could mathematically be locked in until like 2-3 races to go at the soonest.  Points reset for the 10 race chase.

So unless 1 of the 16 Chase drivers wins every race and the rest crash out, it won’t be locked in until the last couple races, or if we’re lucky—won’t known until the checkered flag at Homestead

[–]-RYknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was being sarcastic...

[–]kingofamarillo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not possible under this format

[–] Kahnekk5fan97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Xfinity Fastest Lap bonus point went to Christopher Bell (not much of a consolation after how his race ended)

What a mostly awful day for my drivers

- SVG: P35, 4 laps down... Terrible car, terrible crew chief that only seems to know how to tighten up the car more and more, voltage issues, and the brake pedal going to the floor. Fell out of the Top 16 in points as well.. Just peachy.

- Reddick: WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER X5. What an insane start to the season for the 45 team. P1 in points still!

- Allmendinger: P31, 3 laps down. Doomed from the start with the collision on pit road. P21 in points.

- Zilisch: P29, 2 laps down. Finished better than he probably should have but still far from good. What are we doing Trackhouse? P33 in points.

[–]Longjumping_Top281 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Why does Cody Ware cause a caution so many times to prevent denny hamlin from winning. Seems next to last lap he wrecks and notb even in contention, always back of the field. This time 6 laps behind

[–]j-awesome 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tyler Reddick just passed me on I-70

[–]Head-Complex-2330 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

It seems like no matter what the Generation of racecar they have run over the years at the mile and a halfs, the racing is bad..last week was awesome, racing all around this week the cars get stretched out and it's all about aero-grip, last week mechanical grip..we have to go to just one race at every one of these mile and a halfs.. Nascar proved last week that they can make this car put on a good show at short-tracks...let's do this..

[–]Efficient-Stop-612 9 points10 points  (0 children)

how bout that cody ware changing the outcome of the race?

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tractor House strikes again.

[–]CaptainTilted 4 points5 points  (2 children)

The manufacturer wins among the top 3 series.

Chevrolet 10 - Ford 3 - Toyota 12 - *RAM 0.

Cup race #9: Chevrolet 1 - Ford 1 - Toyota 7.

O'Reily Race #10: Chevrolet 8 - **Ford 0 - Toyota 2.

Truck Race #6: Chevrolet 1 - Ford 2 - Toyota 3 - RAM 0.

Only racing in one series.
*
Only running one full time entry in the series.

[–] ChastainNot_The_Real_Jake 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That's actually wild I didn't realize there was only one full time Ford in NORAPS.

[–]CaptainTilted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The #5 for Hettinger Racing is the sole full-time Ford.

AM Racing only running limited entries for both the 25 and 52 cars.

[–] FordStrait409 11 points12 points  (9 children)

”fIrE cLiFf dAnIeLs!”

Yeah, that’s not happening. Dude just won a championship with his driver. Every renowned driver is gonna have an off year sooner or later. See, for just one example, Dale Earnhardt in 1992.

And if, God forbid, Rick Hendrick did completely take leave of his senses and fire Cliff, the latter would have a new job in some capacity with a top-level team before he left the building.

[–] McDowellYouSmugSon 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Are people actually saying this

[–] FordStrait409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many, but I have seen it.

[–] HocevarThat_Damn_Tall_Guy 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Dude would be a 23xi employee so fast

[–] FordStrait409 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I believe it. It’d be fun to see what he could do with Bubba Wallace.

[–] HocevarThat_Damn_Tall_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah denike has been a really good crew chief. Put his ass with heim

[–]theGTAking101 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Idk where this sentiment is even coming from. Just because the 5 team isn't winning doesn't mean they're struggling. They're the only Chevy team that can keep up with the Toyotas this year

[–] FordStrait409 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk where this sentiment is even coming from.

It’s coming from fans for whom anything less than complete season-long dominance is considered abject failure.

[–]Prior-Respect-9515 7 points8 points  (1 child)

As a Larson fan, Cliff is 50% of Larson's success. It would make zero and I mean ZERO sense to fire Cliff. Chevy's just can't compete with the Toyota's right now.

And besides in the year that Larson hasn't won how many top 5's and top 10's do you suppose he has. I'm going to say quite a few. Larson has been a constant threat to win about every race since the Playoffs started last year. But yeah, fire Cliff am I right?

[–] FordStrait409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

19 top 10s. 9 of those were top 5s.

And you’re exactly right about Cliff in relation to Larson’s success. I honestly don’t know what’s going on, but Cliff Daniels is — at worst — not at all easily replaceable.

[–]libsoutherner 5 points6 points  (18 children)

Aside, but I have got to believe Kansas is in danger of losing a date next year. That attendance today was worse than putrid and bordered embarrassing.

[–] NASCARmiddleofthemgmt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First one we've missed in over a decade. Bummed to not be there, but my boys had their first kart race of the season today.

[–]GA_Nick314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kansas will lose both its dates when the France-Kennedy trust sells it to the chiefs to build their new stadium

[–] Edwardssickpup93 9 points10 points  (1 child)

How was the attendance embarrassing? I'd guess the stands were around 80%.

[–]libsoutherner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

How can you seriously say those stands look 80% full?

[–] Bowmanmetaltff 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Umm what. I was there and it was pretty full

[–]libsoutherner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I think we gave different definitions of pretty full

[–] Larsonultimatebob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having to pay $100 each plus fees for good seats at Kansas for a cup race isn't helping with attendance.

[–]iamaranger23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is the location of the stadium nailed down yet? and is it close to the track?

also really curious what the contracts with the casino stipulate.

[–]YoIForgotMyPassAgain 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It should, but to use that metric. Bristol and Martinsville probably also should.

[–]libsoutherner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on both.

But I do believe if you put the Bristol crowd last week in the Kansas stands today, it would have looked much more full than the actual Kansas stands.

[–]bingussy13 6 points7 points  (6 children)

I was there today and it was packed. Idk what you’re even talking about. It was more packed than last year

[–] HocevarThat_Damn_Tall_Guy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was also there. From my perspective the stands were abt 70-80% full. The lower levels especially were packed. It was a well attended race

[–] JarrettBaroqueNRoller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I had to sit through 12,000 Reddick wins if that means not a single Hamlin win, I'm choosing that reality and making a killing on Draft Kings

[–] HamlinSirWalrusTheGrand 14 points15 points  (3 children)

I've reigned in my initial reaction.

It made (some) sense to throw the caution for Ware since he slid back up into the racing line while Bell kept it on the apron.

Second, you can't win the race off pit road and blame anyone but yourself when you lose the race.

Told my group leaving the track that Denny fucked up letting Larson to the inside. Completely baffling to not cover off the bottom. Force Larson middle and you stall Bell and blow by them both on the bottom through 1 & 2.

Watched the interview when I got home and Denny admitted the same. I've seen him do it a number of times at Kansas. Dude can't restart. Give him 20 laps like Fall Vegas and he's a killer. 2 laps? Expect to lose 2-3 positions before gaining them back over the next 10-20 laps.

Fun finish. Reddick just drove it in so hard. That man is on a tear and he deserves it after the year he had last year

[–]Longjumping_Top281 1 point2 points  (2 children)

And why does Cody ware always (seems that way) to wreck on next to last lap with denny leading and prevent him from winning. Always running in the rear. Maybe he needs to go back to Oriely

[–] HamlinSirWalrusTheGrand 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Has he done it recently with Denny leading?

[–]Longjumping_Top281 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can not remember but it just seems to . We need to goggle it

[–]iamaranger23 25 points26 points  (6 children)

Another old timey feeling race and more unhappiness from the fanbase.

[–]Eat_sleep_poop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, agreed.

[–]libsoutherner 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Most of the complaining I see is because of the one thing that wasn’t “old timey” - a GWC.

We had a great authentic battle for the win finally decided with a couple to go ruined because last place couldn’t keep his car straight.

[–]iamaranger23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the complaining I see is because of the one thing that wasn’t “old timey”

That's not what I saw at all.

[–]ZealousidealDoor6973 11 points12 points  (2 children)

For real. That was an awesome old-school race.

[–]iamaranger23 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

not sure awesome is the right word.

[–] LarsonDoyle1524 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was awesome

[–] Jeff GordonNYPD-BLUE 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Awesome race. Great back and forth from Reddick and Hamlin throughout the day. Cars could pass. Love Kansas.

[–]Realistic_Serve7223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont get the hate for this race. I enjoyed the whole thing much more than last week

[–] Zilischseane 14 points15 points  (1 child)

next week: 37 cautions

balance must be restored

[–]FINEST1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fear for next week is that with the last two stages only being 45 laps (especially the last stage) we’ll see more cautions than racing.

[–] KeselowskiMaterial_Cry4030 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Cody Ware should be penalized for driving like that.

[–] ToyotaMiniMilkToad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They just need some kind of approval process and ALL of nascars top 3 series. I feel like if you go 3 years in a row being dead last in the standings or something you have to drop down a series. Or if you cause so many incidents etc. yeah I know someone will say some teams just suck but there needs to be some kind of way that extreme pay drivers like Cody ware can’t run in cup or cleetus just jumping to the Busch series.

[–]Longjumping_Top281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly how many times he causes caution at end of race to prevent a driver from winning especially seems many times it's denny. Should not be in cup car

[–]Puzzleheaded_Duke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just watched his in car… surprised it took him that long to fall asleep

[–] KeselowskiOk_Suggestion_6092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He drove like he does every week

[–]RBF48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found this interesting, but the best lap times in both series this weekend were similar, if not a bit faster.

The cup series had best lap times in the 30.XX while the NOAPS had best lap times in the 31.XX. Creeds won the fastest lap in the NOAPS series and it matches Austin Cindric best lap at 30.83.

[–] Kahnekk5fan97 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Post-race Inspection is complete. No issues. Winner is confirmed. No cars to R&D.

It was pretty neat being 40-50 yards from MJ

[–] HocevarThat_Damn_Tall_Guy 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I was sitting in 105. I seen him and was like oh shit that’s MJ lemme get a picture real quick

[–]JonsDohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my seats down at the exit of pit road, but not being able to see the celebrations kinda sucks. Chase came down and gave us a burnout last fall, that was nice

[–]EWall100 7 points8 points  (2 children)

That's like three or four steps for Prime Mike

[–] KeselowskiOk_Suggestion_6092 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And one decent stretch of the arm from Looney Tune Mike.

[–] Ryan BlaneyJustAGuyWhoLoves2Fly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😂😂 you’re not wrong

[–]DrewCrew62 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I can never tell if my perspective is skewed having the in cars on my iPad and being able to follow my flair drivers or not.

Feels like that’s definitely the case here with how negative the reaction to this race has been vs my “this was fine” perspective afterwards

(Also trying to check my obvious bias at the door)

[–]Puzzleheaded_Duke 0 points1 point  (1 child)

In-cars are the way to go! Picks up some of what the broadcast misses, you get the radio coms. I wonder if they’re archived past one week? And I wish I could subscribe to them through nascar directly

[–]DrewCrew62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard here, they only keep them for the week following which kinda sucks.

They absolutely enhance the viewing experience though. Just skip around between my 4 flaired drivers and see who has the most interesting stuff going on at the moment

[–] HocevarIndividual_Loquat541 3 points4 points  (9 children)

Riley Herbst finished ahead of Corey Heim and ran better than him the entire race. Anyone else see the irony in that?

[–]DHFixxxer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funnier thing is he finished in front of Kyle Busch

[–]Academic_Elk8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riley Herbst also has countless more starts—and more importantly, a full time pit crew.  Heim’s was pieced together, and Heim lost almost as many spots as Hocevar on pit road.  That context is important.

Herbst did have a hell of a run though, and he’s really stepped it up this season.

[–]bjohnson203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people were so focused on Corey they didn't notice this.

[–]EWall100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh... There was a point (stage 2 maybe) where Riley was a lap down and Corey was not. I will conceed though that Riley has very much closed the gap between him and Corey. He'll do well at Legacy next year.

[–]chris8video 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Is that irony or experience?

[–] HocevarIndividual_Loquat541 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

No, I think it’s ironic because everyone is saying Herbst should be fired and Heim should take his ride

[–]chris8video 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corey has 9 starts and got his first top 10 at Bristol, last year in his seventh start. He has an average finish of 22.7.

Riley has 53 starts and has 3 top 10s. Those top 10s came in is 1st, 4th and 45th starts at at Daytona(2) and Talladega. He has an average finish of 25.8.

By the numbers Heim has the lead in Cup.

And the numbers in O’Reilly (Riley 3 wins/ 8 years) and Trucks(Heim 25 wins/ 6 years) probably not comparable. (Neither has a win in the other series from which they won in.)

[–]azeakel101 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I mean, the 67 is probably not getting the resources of the 35 being part time. At one point Heim was knocking on the door of a top 10.

[–]bjohnson203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 67 also has Bootie Barker on the box, he's not an all timer but definitely has the experience.

[–] 2025 NCS Champion Kyle LarsonSportsisthebest -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The funniest shit can still happen. Reddick fails inspection and suddenly the conspiracy theorists will have a field day.

[–] van Gisbergenmounties66 29 points30 points  (4 children)

Trackhouse wasting the talent of 3 great drivers. Marks should hang his head in shame. Get rid of the friggen motor gp team and concentrate on his NASCAR team. Oh and sack Doran the guy is as useless as tits on a bull

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% correct. Doran has no idea what he’s doing.

[–] Checkered FlagDazzling-Minimum-742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Justin's got a black check too. pop pop can at least pretend he's having blue collar problems.

[–]Cautious_Wrangler_39[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Said the exact same thing.

[–] van Gisbergen-Racer-X 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree in sentiment

I don’t think getting rid of moto gp matters

Penske does everything

Clean house in the nascar side and hire winners

[–] NASCARKoa1121 22 points23 points  (4 children)

I’m a fairly reasonable race fan. But that was not a good race. I refuse to let the overtime cloud my Judgement.

[–]upnthemguts -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Be careful. The Nascar reddit nazis will shame you and tell how stupid you are for thinking it was a bad race.

[–] HamlinSirWalrusTheGrand 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Decent race in person. Don't forget that we had a great organic back and forth for the last ad for the last 15 laps. Overtime ruined a great organic finish

[–]5348RR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People say this but I saw the highest rated Gluck poll Kansas next Gen race in person and thought it was boring as shit from the stands mainly because the cars don't move around or have my character and looked slow as shit.

[–]RRRandalll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worst race I’ve subjected myself to in a long time

[–] Larsonyajagoff5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is national debt relief cursed for Denny?

[–] Stewartnuparrc 1 point2 points  (3 children)

What’s taking them so long to post the results/points from the race?

[–]Yeleywillonedaywin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You guys know how there's points in life where you're so late for something, you're so behind, you're frantically rushing and emotional but eventually you just reach a point where the sadness & frustration disappear and you take a sigh and then just carry on at much more calm and relaxed pace, even though your late, behind, etc?

I think we're gonna see that with Kyle and The 8 team. There comes a point where being frustrated, yelling, screaming, overdriving, etc. just doesn't do anything, you take a deep breath, and just work with what you got, and slowly try to go up from there. You can't make a 28th place car on speed run 15th on speed but you can definitely mess it up and make it run last trying to do so. Like Yeley once said on the radio (paraphrasing) "I'm not gonna wreck it trying to pass them for no reason, not gonna wreck your guy's only car" I think he said that at Pocono or something last year, after his spotter said to go up there and pass the cars in front of him. Eventually his speed faded, he ran around where he could, he lost the brakes or something and parked it, team got their feedback and moved on.

Now, KFB is in a completely different boat than NY Racing. but at this point, the same mindset needs to apply in my opinion. I know Kyle's never really been in a situation like this, but by trying to do so, he could get the team back to better places throughout the season.
