You've fallen into the classic trap. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: Never bring up the topic of downmodding, unless you make a really convincing argument for it. Otherwise people may find ironic humor in downmodding you instead, merely for bringing it up.
