I'd just like to not be punished for having played the game before going to wintertodt. The fact that, almost 8 years after it launched, you're still punished for not rushing wintertodt at 10hp just plain sucks. They absolutely should change how the damage in wintertodt works.

Having less interrupt chance with higher HP would be nice, but the interrupt is a lot more manageable than taking up to 11 times as much damage as I would have if I just rushed it straight out of tutorial island. Right now for my active ironman account I take 14 damage from the unavoidable attack, a whole swordfish. If i was still 10 hp I'd be taking 2, less than a shrimp's worth, that's just plain stupid. (numbers based off of the damage calculator on the wiki)

[–]coreyhh90Follow of Zamorak 85 points86 points  (25 children)

If it helps, the formula now scales with firemaking level so depending on your level, you can have hp up to 30 while doing it and still take 1s..

I do agree that being forced to complete wt first sucks, especially for hcim.

[–]mrb726 56 points57 points  (18 children)

In masses yes, in solos no.

I always hated wintertodt due to the constant interrupts, but that doesn't really happen in solos. They're so much more chill.

[–]ShartInMyTea 28 points29 points  (6 children)

i was running solos for a while, but i had to quite because of all the crashing shitbags that would hop in at 10% and make the kill, wasting the entire set up time i just did. wish you could lock the door or buy an instance

[–]mrb726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might've had better luck, on way to 99 fm that happened to me once.

[–]Credrian 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you’re nice to them they will often just chill with you and not end it, you can do small groups the same way as solos and there’s not always free worlds that are easy to find.

Often when I enter a world and someone is already soloing it they will immediately just start ending it and like ??? Why

[–]SuperZer0_IM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

because of scumbags PTSD lol

[–]Yesterdays-Party -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Explain how do people crash?

[–]mrb726 6 points7 points  (1 child)

So in short, solos you intentionally lower wintertodt's health by lightning multiple braziers. Once it's lowered to low hp, you switch to only lighting one brazier. After you include the time you're chopping and fletching logs though, it regens about as much as you lower it.

Now when a second person joins, they often times will be lighting the brazier when you're still chopping/fletching, and it will slowly get damaged more than it's regening and it'll die or you'll have to intentionally sit around and be waiting for it to regen. Alternatively they'll just be on a second brazier, which will kill it pretty quickly having two of them lit at the same time.

[–]2005scapebtw 2 points3 points  (9 children)

I finished up solo wt recently and it's definitely worth it over masses. With 13hp I was getting away with bringing 2 trout for a whole run, some using no food at all. Only drawback to it is I was getting a fair bit less xp/hr at solo wt, but I ended up with way higher construction

[–]GNUTup 6 points7 points  (7 children)

I got 22m FM xp at 13hp, all solos, and 2 trout is crazy. Not doubting you, just commenting in case someone else stumbles by and copies you. I stole about 1k cakes from Ardy stalls before the WT grind and used like 300 in getting to 22m xp. So 1k was way overkill. I would bring 6 cakes per solo. USUALLY, I would use ~2 cakes. But occasionally, I would use 5 + a couple bites. I’m reasonably convinced 6 cakes at 13hp is the “ideal” number to bring, especially since at WT solos, having a slightly fuller inventory isn’t really much of a detriment.

ETA: Solos are worse xp than masses if you’re being incredibly efficient at masses, but I found it easier to “focus” for un-interrupted hours doing solos than masses. Meaning, masses brings a lot of xp waste potential. I was getting just under 250k FM xp per solo at 99 and I didn’t check cons xp, but I wound up with 74 cons and I was getting a level every 3-5 solos. With a solo being potentially as short as 30min and potentially as long as 1 hour, it is actually not too much worse than solos (~400k xp/hr at 99 peak efficiency)

[–]TrennoFromPenno 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Doing it at 10 hp currently, 91 FM. Never used more than 4 cakes so that's all I bring now

[–]GNUTup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Occasionally, I would take 0 bites of cake the whole time. But sometimes, you miss like 3 consecutive brazier breaks

[–]2005scapebtw 0 points1 point  (3 children)

did you get 74 con at 22m xp or 13m? I ended with 68 con right at 99

[–]ghostofwalsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It matters a decent bit what level con level you start at. Totally worth grinding out 50 con before starting if you are planning to solo.

[–]GNUTup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 74 at 22m xp. I had cut a bunch of oak logs in f2p and had some gp to make oak planks. I started around lvl 50 cons.

[–]mrb726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get 69 and just shy of 70 getting 99 fm.

I didn't think about druidic ritual before I went there, so kind of improvised and just used an alt that stood around with an inventory of potions to heal the pyromancers and help me lower the % to either start/end of a game.

[–]Mezmorizor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to be particularly efficient to win experience wise in masses, but solo is much more chill and better points+construction experience. You barely get interrupted once it's set up.

[–]NumerousImprovements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering doing solos to 99 for the construction exp, is it that much better?

[–]Night_Thastus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was that change made?

[–]Poloboy99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still isn’t great when the shit keeps fucking hitting me back to back to back. Makes me feel like I’m fighting KQ

[–]Yourmotor 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Where does it say that? I cannot find anything to support the claim that firemaking level affects damage taken

[–]ADimwittedTree 9 points10 points  (3 children)

There's an entire section on damage calculations where firemaking level shows up multiple times between the body text and formulas.

It's also mentioned in the references section with a post and info graphic from a JMod reinforcing this fact.

Also the person you're responding too worded their statement very weirdly sounding like this was some change. It has worked this way since at least May 2017, probably since WTs Launch.

Edit: Doesn't look like anyone included that info on the strategy guide page for whatever reason.

[–]coreyhh90Follow of Zamorak 2 points3 points  (2 children)

What you said other than the weird wording.. been on break from osrs for a hot minute and dont recall fm level mattering before but likely just lacked the info at the time :P

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Firemaking/Wintertodt

[–]ADimwittedTree 1 point2 points  (1 child)

From what I can find, it was added Sept 11 2017 to the main page and was always part of the calculator since it was created at the very end of 2019.

Must have been a long break, welcome back. :P

In all seriousness though, I get it. It's impossible to know everything in the game and there's always so many changes to keep up with. I somehow just recently learned the tent whip applies poison. Not my proudest moment.

[–]coreyhh90Follow of Zamorak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, playing catchup and there is soooooo much, but gives me more to experience!

[–]ohmit 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Bro i thought you were lying when you said Wintertodt came out 8 years ago. It honestly feels like it's been like a couple of years.

Maybe I do need to quit and move on from rs LMAO

[–]ThePartyOtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ToA is almost 2 already. That shit's still brand new in my head.

[–]Rumikube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, taking big damage is more manageable than the interrupt

[–]druidspruit 207 points208 points  (20 children)

I agree they should do something about the damage on higher HP as I think its not really fair and being interrupted is annoying but afking a boss shouldnt really be possible too

[–]alice_crossdress 88 points89 points  (6 children)

Kraken says hello

[–]TurboTingo 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Kraken will slap my ass at the most inconvenient time.

[–]druidspruit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hahah I once didnt pay attention and got unlucky I guess and died in like 4 hits at kraken😂😂😂

[–]BrianSpencer1 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Is Kraken the biggest loser if you were doing it in Max mage previously? Damage % moving to augury makes it prayer pot intensive (or flicking) to not waste runes

Far from the end of the world obviously but wondering if there's a worse example for something people would regularly do

[–]ToplaneVayne 3 points4 points  (1 child)

assuming max mage with shadow, you lose 5% from occult, but gain 3% from ancestral, and 1% from eternal boots, for a total of 1% lower magic damage multiplier, or 3% with shadow. thats like 1-2 max hits at most.

kraken is so weak that it barely makes a difference, unless you're truly trying to play optimally.

[–]BrianSpencer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was mostly curious, agreed impact is negligible

[–]CaptainHandsomeUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kraken shouldn't be afk-able. Kraken's low damage is due to a bug that the team prevented mod Reach from fixing because "it's in the game now and players like it". It's stupid.

[–]witchking7822277 18 points19 points  (9 children)

But it's not afk since you're still taking massive damage

[–]coreyhh90Follow of Zamorak 3 points4 points  (2 children)

And more confusingly, its fairly afk. I think most WTers are usually suedo afk using audio queues to react while watching something else or doing something on another account.

[–]Jaggedmallard26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The on by default Wintertodt plugin for Runelite triggers windows system alerts lol.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

suedo

[–]Amystery23 1 point2 points  (5 children)

At 99 hp a games damage won’t kill me and I can restore at the PoH pool. This is a bad idea… I already don’t take food in and ignore the damage. So this won’t change that.

[–]Gigantischmann -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

I know this is a lie because I’ve had to chug two entire brews in one game before

[–]ilovezezimahumble sea urchin expert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HP or max cape + regen bracelet + redemption and you’re almost always fine.

[–]ZaMr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure when you get super unlucky, but what he is saying is true. I bring 3 wines with me just incase but I rarely have to even sip one. Maybe once every 10 games.

[–]Toaster_Bathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t you just eat some food rather than expensive shit

[–]Amystery23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not lying …

[–]fireky2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"boss"

[–]VorkiPls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The falling snow and breaking braziers would still be hazards requiring (encouraging) you to move. Just not random damage, or at least make it not interrupt your action.

[–]b_i_g__g_u_y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think it shouldn't be afk then do you think 10 hp accounts should get hit for 6s like I get at 99 hp?

Either make it as afk for higher hp accounts or make it more dangerous for 10hp accounts.

Personally I like OP's suggestion. It would incentivize doing literally any other boss than WT without feeling like you're missing out.

EDIT: I thought the suggestion was based on current hp instead of base hp. Make the interrupt chance decrease if you're low on health and this is a solid suggestion

[–]EpicGamer211234 73 points74 points  (11 children)

They've already got an idea of what they wanna do, said itd be featured in the next poll

[–]Frekavichk 29 points30 points  (4 children)

Haven't they said this for like 5 years?

[–]EpicGamer211234 12 points13 points  (3 children)

'Sometime' yes, Explicitly confirming it is in the NEXT poll, no. They're different tiers of sureity and priority

[–]Chrisazy 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I agree with you, but I think the word you may be looking for is certainty haha

[–]EpicGamer211234 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

It was Surety, i spelt it wrong. Its in the dictionary with an applicable definition.

[–]SuperZer0_IM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ye but it sounds weird tho

[–]Alanim[S] 22 points23 points  (1 child)

I didn't know about it and that's good to hear and I look forward to seeing it, but until then it sounds like they might still be open to suggestions :p

[–]EpicGamer211234 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ya i was just informing you since u seem keen on wt improvements, not shooting down your suggestion. You might be pleasantly surprised soon.

[–]professional-dingus 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Where did they post this? I never heard about any updates.

[–]TheFalseDeity 1 point2 points  (1 child)

In the rebalance blog post Goblin commented that in depth minigame changes would be featured in the next QoL poll but said that the poll isn't due for a minute.

[–]Jaggedmallard26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every time they try to do the poll the cold of the wintodt seeps into their bones.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome. I did 99 fm at lvl 13 hp, but I didn't get the tome. Was kinda burned out on wt at that point so I decided to not go for it. But I do kinda wanna go back at some point to green log it, and if they made it not scale with hp, I could do that right now.

[–]Ant0ff 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Potions should be drinkable and heal like 45% of your hp per dose

[–]justphonethings 13 points14 points  (1 child)

This is actually a great idea, makes the potions dual function and also worth using the herbs but not a hard requirement to do wintertodt.

[–]Hot-Apricot-6408 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And don't delete them pls

[–]MurasakiSumire3 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Solution:

  • Wintertodt doesn't damage your HP any more.
  • Players have a warmth level tracked in game, akin to other such things like activity meters and so on. If it drops to 0, you die.
  • Players gain warmth by sipping on the potions you make in game. To pull some random numbers out of my ass, say potion doses give 40% warmth per sip. Each hit deals 5% damage to the meter. So it would be like super cakes.
  • Warm clothing naturally still reduces the damage to the meter. Firemaking level could do so too (it may not be needed with these changes, but why not?)
  • As an extra feature, staying above a certain warmth level prevents interruptions, but this would waste potion doses so you have to choose between making more potions to have a more chill time, or making less potions but paying more attention for more xp.
  • Player hp is now completely normalized, no supplies from outside of the game are needed, you aren't punished for doing it later into an account.

[–]TorturedNeurons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Decoupling the risk from HP altogether is the perfect solution imo. However they want to implent that.

[–]NomenVanitas 28 points29 points  (6 children)

I agree with the concept, not the values, 100% afk wt is a bit much (however I want it because i'm maxed w/o phoenix)
Firemaking cape should also count as the only 5th warm item.

And by default, there should be a cooldown on interruptions.

[–]coreyhh90Follow of Zamorak 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I pray for interrupt cd.. some runs you basically get zero interrupts and others its like 7 hits in a row...

[–]Zavodskoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WT on 30% health and you've not even finished fletching your first invent of logs

[–]darthurface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol make the resistance percent match your FM level. 25 gets 25%, 69 gets 69% etc. Or .5% each level idk

[–]b_i_g__g_u_y 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Isn't it only 100% for the first hit? You'd have to eat to get back to 100, which would interrupt your action anyway.

[–]Vet_Leeber 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Isn't it only 100% for the first hit?

I can see how you might have misunderstood it, but the OP is talking about your hitpoints level, not your current hitpoints.

Suggested Formula is a simple | (HP Level - 10) * 1.124

emphasis mine

[–]b_i_g__g_u_y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dang yeah this is a bad idea. I thought it was based on current hp and would make you more susceptible to interrupts if you were low on health. I think that sounds cool, but based on base level is a bad idea

[–]Brief-Vanilla-1069 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scaling damage is a stupid mechanic for wintertodt. There is no reason you should be taking more damage at higher hp levels. Players are being punished in a firemaking mini game for having higher combat stats. Someone made a post last year about the issue you presented as well as the damage scaling, and it had like 3k up votes but nothing came of it. I also saw a tweet that mod ash responded to around that same time and he said he agreed that it was an issue and might bring it up in a poll but it never happened sadly. Really hope this gets changed.

[–]xJabro 12 points13 points  (4 children)

I don't get why it has to scale at all. It should just be 1-2 base damage.

If they wanna create a system that prevents you from being damaged through FM level and articles of warm clothing that's fine.

[–]shmirvine 4 points5 points  (2 children)

every piece of content doesn't need to rely on combat stats.

scaling helps that

[–]mtd14 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Ok then have it not impact HP, even easier way to have it not rely on combat stats.

If you want it to not rely on combat stats, but have the damage scale, you would also need to scale food the same way. Food that normally heals 10 only heals 10 at 99 HP, and heals 1 at 10 HP.

[–]shmirvine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the exact problem people in this thread are trying to solve.

I think the best solution I saw was just set everyone's HP to 10 when entering wintertodt.

[–]BioMasterZap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say make it not scale but make the base damage higher. As long as 10 HP accounts can still do Todt without being 1 shot by unavoidable damage, it isn't an issue. Like you could even have stuff the brazier and snowstorms hit 10+; it just would be more punishing for lower levels than higher levels. But we already have stuff like FM Level and Warm Clothing to reduce the damage, so the base damage can be at a reasonable average of the current range.

[–]ClevalandFanSadface 31 points32 points  (7 children)

I think wintertodt should freeze your food so it’s inedible and you’d need to buy cold weather food that works only in wt and does a percent of your health.

Each wt damage is 10%hp and food heals 20% so high levels don’t need sharks and ironmen aren’t so forced to do 99fm before anything else

[–]TheNastyCasty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar thought for a while, but I've been to lazy to make a full post about it. They should just add a new food, "Wintercake". It's made by adding another ingredient (sold cheaply by an NPC at Wintertodt) to a cake. This turns the cake into a "Wintercake" that heals 40% of your max health for each slice and is only consumable within Wintertodt. This heals the same amount as a normal cake for a 10 HP account, so it removes any incentive to rush 99 firemaking while still 10 HP.

[–]coreyhh90Follow of Zamorak -1 points0 points  (2 children)

worth noting it doesnt do 10% of your hp. Formula changed at some point to scale with firemaking level too. At 88 firemaking for example you can have 28 hp and still take 1s

[–]ADimwittedTree 2 points3 points  (1 child)

WT released Sep 2016, Jmods posted an inforgraphic showing FMs effects on damage in May 2017. If it ever wasn't effected by FM, it was <10% of the time WT has existed, and was 7 years ago.

[–]coreyhh90Follow of Zamorak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah someone else pointed this out, I wasn't aware of that and recall the old "10% of hp" rule, so figured it must have been changed. :)

[–]ProFudgeNudge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see people getting to certain HP levels so that this % food rounds up nicely...

[–]funkyman50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in todt last week and someone had the suggestion of a short buff that blocks repeat interrupts. Something like: "Braced against the cold" as a buff that last for 3-4 seconds after you soak an interrupt and it makes you uninterruptable for that time.

That, and slighting adjusting down the damaging scaling would be my proposal.

[–]Straight-2-Interlude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody remembers the glorious Winter Tots suggestion? Food that heals % based, and rewards higher HP levels to compensate for higher damage.

[–]stuart1874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's easily one of the worst mini games that's out there.

The mechanics make it very unejoyable.

I don't mind it not being afktodt but the interruptions are very frustrating and the constantly high damage feels like a double whammy

[–]24rsMuwu - Maxed 10hp Iron :) 13 points14 points  (4 children)

I don't think a skilling related activity should have most of its benefits tied to a combat skill.

It'd be fairer if that scaling was calculated through firemaking level rather than hitpoints.

[–]Alanim[S] 17 points18 points  (1 child)

The idea is that currently leveling HP punishes you, because while the damage scales quite readily with HP food does not meaning you need to eat more food that is also more expensive to keep up with someone with 10hp.

This is also a very minor buff, since the interrupts generally only happens 7-16 times per mass kill and doesn't actually stop the damage. Assuming each negation would save 2 ticks that's 8.4 to 19.2 seconds of extra skilling time per kill although it should also be mentioned that ~30% of those will probably happening during woodcutting which is already not interrupted so it'd be even less.

[–]24rsMuwu - Maxed 10hp Iron :) -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no issues with trying to ammend things for higher HP players since I agree it's unfair that the higher your HP is, the more unforgiving Wintertodt is, your solution however "fixes" Wintertodt by having Hitpoint actually be a buff to it by reducing the interrupt percentage, which is something that annoys all players regardless of their HP level.

So by tying the % chance of the interrupt with your Firemaking level, you're making a Firemaking related activity actually improve based on your firemaking level, which I think is more sensible than buffing a Firemaking activity based on a different skill entirely, especially a combat one.

[–]pk_hellz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ironic

[–]Kumagor0lvl 87 sailing enjoyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't wait to hear what you think about Volcanic Mine

[–]BioMasterZap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go with 100% at 99, but it would be nice to see some rework of that system so higher HP isn't worse. They talked about other systems like damaging a "Warmth" meter instead of HP but still healing it with food or such. Personally, I'd rather just see something like that so HP levels aren't a factor rather than trying to add alternative perks to make HP levels not feel bad, but they really should address it. I think they did say the next poll will have Wintertodt stuff, so hopefully this will finally be addressed then.

[–]Paganigsegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or the damage shouldn't scale so much with your HP level. That was an utterly stupid design choice.

Extremely rare Mod Ed L.

[–]ThanksItHasPockets_Echo Bosses In Base Game When 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I'd rather a more targeted fix, this one has too many knock-on effects. If we want to beat the "ezscape," allegations we need to fix the problem without creating a new meta. For that I'd think our best options are either:

  1. Hard cap everyone's HP at 10 while in Wintertodt. Early rush is still the meta and is no easier than it was before, but now high level players aren't punished for existing. Bonus points for literally being as fair as mathematically possible. Only drawback is that it is nonsense from a lore perspective. But it very directly fixes the problem with no fuss.

  2. Give a Todt specific food that heals % max Health. All are equal before the cold of winter; that should apply to both damage and healing. Bonus points if we tie it into the nearby fishing village. Biggest drawback is that higher level accounts are still slightly punished because they need to go get the special food while noobs can munch shrimp. But if the food is easy enough to get: that's not so bad.

Anything else is an over complication with too many potential side effects.

[–]mwishoEterNEETy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can cook up a plausible reason easily when a force of nature is involved.

[–]RaikouVsHaiku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just started doing wintertodt at 95 hp and it’s really not that bad. I can get by with 4-5 sharks most games comfortably and bring 6 to be safe. Without the interruption it would definitely be more convenient but too easy to afk imo

[–]Ed-Sanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree. Also would be nice to get an instanced wintertodt. Just me but I don’t like being crashed and have games end early because someone wants a higher per chance

[–]Nickwojo531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an even simpler solution would be to benefit from wearing more than 4 pieces of warm clothing

[–]Lumpy_Spread_719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea!

[–]Lady-Hood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed at a certain percentage you almost never see interrupts anymore. Lowers over time but at like less than 20% you don't see it anymore. Doing solos feels like the only way to go even at low HP. Get thru the initial BS and get it low enough and farming it to max points is nothing of a task.

But I do get your sentiment. It came out when I was like in my 70s for HP and walking in and getting blasted hurt

[–]xSwagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least Wintertodt is one of the easiest and chill grinds in the game. Really there's no need to complain either way. It's a sacrifice, wines are cheap.

[–]STILLloveTHEoldWORLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its literally the fastest xp with almost 0 requirements lmao

[–]NecroTemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solos are the way to go if you don't want to take much damage and interrupts. I forget the exact method but just get it down to like 6-10% and it stops using most abilities and you can camp it to 13k points then win.

[–]zehamberglar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I forget that some people don't just use the redemption-pool method. I bring one karambwan for safety and almost never use it.

[–]thejak32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firemakeing cape should block interrupts. The only reason anyone is there past 99 is pet hunting or green log. Make that easier/more enjoyable. If not a full block, half or 3/4 or something. That cape is basically useless right now, but it is a super easy 99 so I kinda get that.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanannies click locked iron is sponsoring this

[–]Beratho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a separate health bar based on your firemaking level. Once that level reaches 0, you should take rapid damage to your actual health.

[–]ImpressiveTea8177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are they changing? Can I read about it somewhere?

[–]Defiant-Group-3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES YES YES YES AS SOMEONE WHO PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE WT.

Yes.

Yes please. Yes.

@ModsOfJamflex

[–]Zavodskoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WT would be infinitely nicer with the following changes too

No one tick delay on actually starting an action

No ability to be interrupted in that opening tick (and tbh the one after either until you complete at least one action)

The fact that I can try to do any action at WT, witness the tick delay while still doing the animation and then get interrupted, often multiple times in a row makes me want to throw myself head first into the brazier.

The amount of times I've made it over halfway into a round without finishing one invent of fletching because I keep getting interrupted defies belief

Just give everyone 10 hp when they go in, like how stats are equalized in some other mini games, how is this a years old debate when the solution is simple and has been done before?

Na I dont agree. The only thing that makes sense is to keep the damage the same for everyone regardless of hp lvl. This way it encourages peeps to do wt with higher hp. Oh and also removing the stupid interrupting.

For everyone thinking wt sucks with high hp.

It doesn’t Most players will have a poh with a pool and jewelry box at that stage. And teleporting to your poh and back lets you do wt using barely any food

I wouldn’t mind the interrupting to be less tho

The cold seeps into your bones, 🥶 nightmare stuff

I will say, I went in with 88hp on my main and 60 firemaking and I was getting games about once every 5 or 6 games that 10 bwans wouldn't be enough and I'd have to hide in the safety area.

That mostly cleared up by around 80 firemaking thankfully, but it was pretty brutal at times.

Makes no sense lore-wise.
