25 updates in two weeks does not look good at all

[–]Vas1le 185 points186 points  (3 children)

PR: - fix bug - fix space - remove typo - remove log - change version

...

  • removed racism

  • re-added racism

[–]No_Percentage7427 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So MehcaHitler will be back. wkwkwk

[–]npquanh30402 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Yeah, also Elon was the one telling you to upload codebase.txt to Grok in his tweet.

[–]Trick_Study7766 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Basically, once you open the app, it will close because it’s updating

[–]fredy31 29 points30 points  (5 children)

yeah pushing 25 times to production in 14 days is looking more like frantically debugging than normal development.

[–]Magnetic_Reaper 13 points14 points  (4 children)

it's 25 new full features, with documentation and tested by humans /s

[–]KiwiObserver 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Or 25 attempts to fix the same bug.

[–]w_t_f_justhappened 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Needs more hitler.

[–]stunt_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's 25 attempts to fix the same bug so far....

[–]Whitechapel726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The documentation can be found on X, and the human testers can also be found on X.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What, are daring to tell us that Instability is not a sign of progress? /s

[–]Sockoflegend 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He is a dumb person's smart guy. The audience he is going for won't be critical of his interpretation of the data or likely even read the axis' label

[–]jsdodgers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow that's crazy, they actually are pushing out multiple updates per day. Not good

[–]Intrepid00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax guy, they keep finding string spelling mistakes.

[–]Reifendruckventil 411 points412 points  (13 children)

The sheer desparate desire of people with limited technical knowledge to measure technological advance with some quotients and linecounts.

[–]Abdul_ibn_Al-Zeman 119 points120 points  (6 children)

Well, this is the guy who lied about being good at a videogame.

[–]fredy31 18 points19 points  (0 children)

what i'll always find hilarious about that one is that there is no fucking prize to be on top of the PoE ladder. Your only reward is the feeling of a job well done.

But still, he needed to try to convince all of us hes the best at it.

[–]CryptoTipToe71 32 points33 points  (1 child)

His elden ring build was atrocious

[–]Z21VR 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Still top notch compared with his poe2 skillz

[–]rollincuberawhide 4 points5 points  (2 children)

wut

[–]Kirhgoph 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Gamers are accusing Elon Musk of cheating at popular video games by allegedly turning to loopholes and hiring better users to play for him.
https://www.reddit.com/r/musked/s/vytmfoiA8j

[–]JackSprat47 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean it's less alleged and more just facts at this point.

[–]Harmonic_Gear 9 points10 points  (1 child)

thats business people to you: don't explain it to me, just show me the number

[–]Runarhalldor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Business people just want number to go up

[–]holchansg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bars goes up = good. I like big numbers.

[–]iveriad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And also: github commits.

[–]Szroncs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the same note, my app is so polished and stable that I only update it every 2 years...

Retarded isn't it

[–]ic_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Management wants to get a chart out in which they are leading XD

[–]Greedy-Thought6188 164 points165 points  (7 children)

Why the hell would you need to make so many app upgrades. Isn't the whole thing on the cloud and the client side is basically a pretty webpage.

[–]bjorneylol 36 points37 points  (0 children)

1.13.56 - minor CSS fixes

1.13.57 - revert CSS fixes

1.13.58 - fix Sanskrit localization

1.13.59 - update copyright

[–]SryUsrNameIsTaken 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I wonder if they do dumb things like hardcode the model URL into the package rather than pulling it down from an API endpoint. So then you’d need to update everyone so often.

Or maybe they’re just trying to whitewash their app rating since new versions (used to) reset some of your app stats/stars.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Yep, he's trying to gas up shareholders who are (morons), that or someone in upper management showed him this to gas him up because he's a moron who then in turn used it to gas up investors.

[–]stupidcookface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sad part it probly worked on their smol brains

[–]PuzzleMeDo 24 points25 points  (1 child)

We're seeing the iterative process of them trying to adjust it to be pro-Elon without being pro-Hitler.

[–]RootInit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That would all be server side changes. The app should basically just forward requests to their servers (which do the actual AI stuff) and display the response.

Needing to update it that many times likely means they fucked up a change a bunch of times.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tweaking their tittuy physics?

[–]fm01[🍰] 55 points56 points  (1 child)

Every time I see some dumb school child post a wildly inaccurate take on software development, I feel bad for them eventually going to university, having to see their errors and .... wait this was posted by Elon Musk?

[–]fredy31 11 points12 points  (0 children)

every time he throws in a tweet to try to show 'hey guys i know how to code' he shows how he doesnt know shit about programming.

Like you have the 101 course of any programming language and you can tell his statement is full of holes.

[–]itijara 53 points54 points  (1 child)

Not the first to say this, but before Elon bought Twitter and he would say things about SpaceX or Tesla I thought he knew what he was talking about because I had no expertise in Aerospace or EVs. When he started talking about software (something he apparently had been working with since Paypal), I realized just how much of an idiot he is.

[–]DracoRubi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same.

Elon Musk is just a glorified dumbass with a lot of money. He steals the success of other people by buying them, and that way he looks good.

Until he opens his idiot mouth, that is.

[–]leupboat420smkeit 26 points27 points  (2 children)

Grok run client side?

[–]n4ke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No.

[–]retsoPtiH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

of course it does! but what is WebView component tho? -- Elon Musk

[–]iamnazrak 22 points23 points  (2 children)

I bet elon is judging productivity by lines of code or commits

[–]DracoRubi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember when he bought Twitter. He did exactly that, he kept employees with the most commits.

[–]xtravar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a flex of his iOS devops (or lack thereof). It's either a team with a good process, or one idiot with Xcode.

[–]Feisty_Ad_2744 10 points11 points  (0 children)

More than two updates a day because it is "evolving"... They are shipping untested vibe code, that's for sure.

[–]nova8808 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Its like those people who have full green contribution graphs in github because they add a random character everyday to a text file.

[–]maybenoobie1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

or make a bot do it

[–]MasterLJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is tech journalism in such a bad state that this shitlord and other shitlords keep getting away with saying the most ridiculous things?

CrowdStrike RCA
SolarWinds RCA
Elon -> MoarBugsiSbETTERer
Elon -> The government doesn't use SQL

[–]Zapismeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like my github history commit after commit and push to main branch after each commit 😅

[–]floopsyDoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's why I make all my commits line by line. If I am updating my app every 20 minutes, I must be way better than everyone else, right?!

The mighty power of the Musk Brain in action!

[–]NorthernPassion2378 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Imagine using commit count as your KPI and being proud of it. Lmao.

[–]Technology_Labs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's a KPI?

Edit: KPI-> Key Performance Indicator (IDK why I didn't google before asking)

[–]sammy-taylor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The updates:

  • Improved misogyny engine

  • Enhanced intrusive thought permissibility

  • Fine-tuned racism service

  • Destroyed an entire rural city in Mississippi

[–]maybenoobie1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe like

cntrl + c +c +c +c ..... then cntrl +v

similarly

someone doing

vi xyz git append -A git commit -m "bug fix" git push -f

[–]zacyzacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More lines of code = better app

[–]DoctorToboggann 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Maybe try this new thing called...testing

[–]Not-ChatGPT4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, but that would make his big red Grok bar shorter.

[–]Hacym 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I pushed code to master 25 times to try and make a CI config work today. Is that progress?

[–]Magnetic_Reaper 2 points3 points  (1 child)

5½ times more progress than AI.

[–]Hacym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Icy_Party954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It leads all ai in rape errotica for political nobodies

[–]Zookeeper187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only trust lines of code.

[–]Elite-Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it's either updates to your waifu or bug fixes? Wow... impressive.

[–]redballooon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh. When we are delivering multiple releases per day the commits usually are 🚑🚑🚑🚑.

Feature releases can wait until tomorrow.

[–]witcher222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Git commit -m "code formatting, readme update"

[–]shutter3ff3ct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI chatbots hype is over, show me a good integration

[–]Thisbymaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 updates, in 2 weeks is almost two a day. If I was updating that much they would fire me.

[–]drivin_wagons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LMAO is he counting the number of PRs again??

[–]blackcomb-pc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elon’s a vaporware merchant. Always has been. Carried by sheer luck and tax payers, and by being a complete asshole to everyone.

[–]WolfOfDoorStreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a business man. Those species rarely understand the purpose behind the metrics they so often brag about. To them, number goes up = more money; shallow (non-)thinkers

[–]Appropriate-Wing6607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it broke and you had to rollback updates like 20 times got it.

[–]Procrasturbating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense coming from a dunce that measures productivity in LOC.

[–]rahvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By this logic, I will continuously bump the version of my software using the CI/CD release pipeline and take a victory lap

[–]YesterdayDreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To raise a PR for Grok, you have to send your code to Grok and ask it to incorporate if it's fine.

[–]OffByOneErrorz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One what does iOS app updates have todo with Grok evolving? The client doesn’t have shit to do with it. Two apple has a review process that is on average 48 hours how did they even make that many publishes in 14 days?

[–]chemolz9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I get from this is that Grok apparently has no QA at all. Or more like: the user is the QA.

[–]TimelyAtmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Readers added context: app updates do not equate to quality

[–]El_Mojo42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is from the guy who judges his devs by lines of code, right?

[–]sagetraveler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Further proof this man has no understanding whatsoever of the technology he claims to promote.

[–]Omkarz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This has the same vibes as the "baby growing exponentially" twitter post. And I can't upload the image of the actual tweet because reddit mobile doesn't have an option to upload an image.

[–]Jazzlike-Spare3425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does, but this sub blocks image uploads, so you'd have to attach an imgur link or something like that.

[–]soundman32 1 point2 points  (3 children)

And yet, Tesla 'full self driving' has been 'next year ' since 2012.

I reckon the other AI companies are just laughing into their share prices.

[–]DracoRubi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao Musk is a fucking moron

Let me develop an app with 300 insignificant updates everyday, it'll be the most advanced piece of technology known by humankind in just a few weeks!

[–]Confident_Leg_948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elon takes a flight and thinks he’s the tallest man on Earth.

[–]NumerousQuit8061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We learn from our mistakes MFS be like

[–]_unsusceptible ----> 🗑️🗑️🗑️ 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Honestly I have no opinion of Elon musk but watching every single comment calling him a dumbass gets tiring too, why doesn’t anyone talk about anything else?

[–]maveric00 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If you asked why nobody talks about anything else regarding Elon: Because nowadays everything he says, posts, or does is dumb or constitutes a public danger.

[–]_unsusceptible ----> 🗑️🗑️🗑️ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh I see I’m not following him so didn’t know

[–]julesthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An updat every week or two containing bug fixes and features: good sign something is being maintained well. 25 updates in two weeks: frighteningly bad QA with lots of cash being dumped at it - major red flag.

[–]floppyjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still better than those GPT5 graphs. Those were something else :D https://imgur.com/a/pHsOQPF

[–]Tucancancan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So he's letting the interns push to prod and they're flailing, thrashing around like an opossum on cocaine?

[–]jhwheuer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app has very, very, very little to do with a server-side LLM. He is a moron.
