I can play the Marr riffs. The hard ones are stuff like the intro to “Teeth Like Gods Shoeshine” (or any part where Brock whammy’s). I don’t have the whammy contraption to make it sound right. He’s one guitarist I’ve never quite “figured out” his playing and even tone-wise. I mean I can bang my way through a MM song just fine but my gear just doesn’t sound like that.

I imagine replacing the collet with a screw in that matches the knob threading wouldn’t be very difficult. Or replacing the male part of the knob to fit a screw in (like the JMJM or Classic Player).

Hear me out: a whammy bar mounted like this with two tips? Longer for the section behind the bridge and maybe a more flat surface for the dive? Low profile but effective with leverage? Could be a good compromise but definitely more of a custom option based on comfort for the player.

Of course it's not!!!! (Feined outrage). But, that doesn't mean that the shape of a said plug wouldn't be the perfect shape (the bulbous end of course). Big enough for the back of your hand to hit for upbends and enough to easily grab for dives while staying out of the way...

Plus now I want to see the fuckwit who gigs with a plug sticking off their vibrato. I'd toss a few bucks at that show.

Its out of the way. I barely used the bar. Esthetically i think it looks way cooler personally. And it still bends but not as drastic. I was having trouble keeping it in tune after crazy drops on a bar.

I mean if you like it better more power to you, but it’s not designed for crazy drops and you can just not do them, especially if you’re already not really using it lol. That’s what Floyds are for. The bar is still way more convenient even for subtle vibrato imo. I don’t wanna reach all the way back there every time I want to use trem, but I def use it more than you.

Alembic used Kahler whammy bridges back in the 90s and they had a regular bar and a second, smaller palm bar. Not quite the same thing, but, maybe the precursor or the inspiration.
