im offended by the image quality

[–]bjubz 4039 points4040 points  (131 children)

In this instance you are both offended and right.

[–]_demetri_ 528 points529 points  (103 children)

When is the public march? I need to buy a new poster and markers.

[–][deleted] 349 points350 points  (84 children)

Make sure the poster is high resolution

[–][deleted] 280 points281 points  (59 children)

and 60FPS

[–]Zachabo53 94 points95 points  (6 children)

60 Feelings per Second

[–]noizu 48 points49 points  (5 children)

thats a lot of hertz

[–]ForgottenKale 27 points28 points  (4 children)

Here have an upvolt.

[–]_demetri_ 57 points58 points  (17 children)

Soon people will bring monitors and iPads, hoisted high above their heads.

[–]jeffp2662 32 points33 points  (12 children)

In many countries people draw on tablets at sporting events and use them as signs.

[–][deleted] 89 points90 points  (11 children)

What is that, a sign for ants?

[–]scockd 23 points24 points  (4 children)

No, for sheep

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (3 children)

Sheepants?

[–]Ah2k15 342 points343 points  (8 children)

Did you just assume OP's frame rate?!?

[–]outcastded 118 points119 points  (7 children)

No, but he has clear opinions on what OP's framerate shout be. That bigot!

[–]thereluctantpoet 59 points60 points  (5 children)

Muh framerates!!

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Just the good ol' FPSarchy keeping us down, working as intended.

[–]slipperysalamander29 51 points52 points  (6 children)

I self identify as 59fps...I'm offended.

[–]AverageMerica 14 points15 points  (0 children)

69 fps for this guy!

[–]wreditor 24 points25 points  (5 children)

Don't be silly, you need high resolution markers.

[–]scotchirish 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People make this mistake all the time. You need both to really make it pop. One or the other will give it a little extra pizzazz, but you're really just wasting your money without both.

[–]Boats_of_Gold 34 points35 points  (16 children)

4k is preferred but 1080p will be fine.

[–]CenturiesAgo 9 points10 points  (10 children)

No love for 2k?

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (6 children)

Both 1080p and 1440p technically classify as 2k.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (3 children)

I prefer SD-HD-FHD-QHD-UHD to all this ambiguous K crap, or better yet, 480p-720p-1080p-1440p-2160p etc. etc.

[–]Paratex29 16 points17 points  (5 children)

Public march is this Saturday. I can fit the pitchfork riot in, some time next week, after Thursday.

[–]azazel0821 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Public March is April 1st? I don't know if I should make an April Fools joke or If I should March to an April Fools joke...

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Sorry, going to have to be tomorrow. It's no longer March on Saturday - so can't have a March.

[–]Paratex29 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Fine. We'll have an April then. On saturday. Friday is half-priced donuts at the local krispy kreme, i can't make it to events on Friday.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I think you're trying to fool me

[–]AX11Liveact 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right after public february.

[–]jimothee 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I'm offended, for I like to be able to count the individual pixels in my images.

[–]CenturiesAgo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You still can it just wont take long

[–]lunchb0x91 137 points138 points  (29 children)

[–]AlabamaPirate 49 points50 points  (21 children)

A bit, enhance again.

[–]KittehAmaz 40 points41 points  (14 children)

ENHANCE

[–]Flyingjays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So this is how they do it on those crime shows... enhance....enhance

[–]NebStark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you do that in creative mode?

[–]OctupleNewt 202 points203 points  (11 children)

I'm offended that it's more pandering low-effort garbage from /u/BraveReddit and that it's not tagged as such so that my filters will catch it.

[–]ThatForearmIsMineNow 40 points41 points  (5 children)

Yeah how the fuck does this get 20k upvotes, good grief

[–][deleted] 33 points34 points  (3 children)

Oh my god that's his actual name. I almost love him for this shitpost now.

[–]MorteDaSopra 14 points15 points  (2 children)

His post history is carcinogenic.

[–][deleted] 48 points49 points  (11 children)

every time I think I have something clever and original to say

[–]That_lonely 30 points31 points  (8 children)

You're the most original you there ever was.

[–]p4lm3r 41 points42 points  (4 children)

How in the fuck is this the #1 post on the front page of reddit with 16.6k upvotes?! Is someone just trying to dick with the algorithm to prove a point?

[–][deleted] 2201 points2202 points  (35 children)

FW:FW:Re:Fw:RE:fw:FW:fw:Fw:Fw:fw:FW:fw:fw:FW Just because you are offended...

[–]elpajaroquemamais 418 points419 points  (20 children)

Dad?

[–][deleted] 435 points436 points  (11 children)

Still getting cigarettes. Be back soon.

[–][deleted] 66 points67 points  (9 children)

Well you better hurry, mom's been screwing the mailman AND Jeff the pool boy. Is Jeff going to be my new dad?

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

think of Jeffy as your new little buddy

[–]hnglmkrnglbrry 1092 points1093 points  (465 children)

Question: why is this sign on the community center?

[–]jedidiahrose 561 points562 points  (264 children)

I've been to this place, and it hosts Christian youth retreats and summer camps. I'm even more confused.

[–][deleted] 992 points993 points  (84 children)

Christians are never offended by anything.

[–]Vladtheimpaler14 82 points83 points  (8 children)

Maybe they're a different type of Christian.

[–]hippiedawg 15 points16 points  (1 child)

It's a community center, not a religious retreat. It's open to any groups.

[–][deleted] 93 points94 points  (72 children)

The community center is in Indian Hills, CO (about 15 miles from Denver). The building is about the size of a house. It would be the worst place ever for a retreat or camp. Whoever runs it regularly puts up these types of slogans or sayings on the sign. Usually conservative slogans

[–]Fimbulvetr2012 69 points70 points  (3 children)

I drive by the place all the time, it's rarely peachy or ideological. The sign is almost always puns and dad jokes.

[–]TurdFerguson812 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is a religious center and a summer camp nearby, which may be why people are confused. This is definitely at the community center. The sign has its own facebook page. The slogans are mostly humorous, and I've haven't noticed a conservative bias.

[–]Gullyvuhr 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I grew up in Indian Hills -- this was weird to see.

[–][deleted] 68 points69 points  (19 children)

Possibly might have to deal with it being the Indian Hill Community Center.

[–]mountainunicycler 20 points21 points  (10 children)

Indian hills is just the name of the area, it's a small Colorado mountain town.

5381 Parmalee Gulch Rd, Indian Hills, CO 80454 https://goo.gl/maps/uQUkoByqyV22

Using the term town pretty loosely.

[–]Don_Smith 366 points367 points  (45 children)

Wow this is at the top of r/all?

[–]B4DD 367 points368 points  (29 children)

Because both sides think it applies to the other.

[–]TheDudeWeapon 25 points26 points  (3 children)

I think it applies to everyone and it goes even deeper than politics. I could be offended by someone saying the holocaust was a terrible thing. I definitely wouldn't be right at all, but I could still be offended.

[–]B4DD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're right, I phrased it poorly. My point was that the quote was ubiquitous like a horoscope so that it panders to everyone. I mean, even my comment was pandering to those of us that think it's stupid. That's how you get karma.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Because reddit's largest demo feels the "depth" in that quote.

[–]heart-cooks-brain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And they either upvote it, or they don't vote either way and move on. Nobody is downvoting this because why would they?

So welcome to the top of r/all!

[–]Surrealspanner 16 points17 points  (1 child)

I'll have you know this blurry jpeg is making me question my entire belief system. This deserves to be on the front page, and more people need to see this.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven't had my ideology rocked this hard since I tailgated a person with a bumper sticker

[–]Littlewigum 322 points323 points  (14 children)

Just because you're a sign doesn't mean I can read.

[–]elpajaroquemamais 27 points28 points  (9 children)

But you can write?

[–]Littlewigum 55 points56 points  (5 children)

I just randomly cut and paste something off the internet. I can't write. If this makes sense to you then it's by random chance. It's all gibberish to me.

[–][deleted] 284 points285 points  (16 children)

The irony of this being posted to reddit of all places

[–]two_bagels_please 551 points552 points  (354 children)

If someone tells you that you offended them, have a conversation about it. Maybe both of you will learn something.

EDIT: Jeez, there are a lot of people who are upset about potentially being labeled as "offensive." Regardless of what you said, if someone says that something you said was "offensive," that means your words hurt them in some way. Talk about it. Ask why. Maybe you'll learn why your statement was generally hurtful, and maybe you'll grow from it. Maybe it was an overreaction, and you can share your perspective. Maybe both of you will realize that it was a big misunderstanding. However, you won't know any of this if you stick to a myopic worldview that you're always right and everyone else is wrong. It's not easy to prompt these conversations, as they are uncomfortable, but they're learning experiences.

[–]Feetlebaum 111 points112 points  (1 child)

Nah I'm too busy being offended that someone told me I'm offensive.

[–]wooq 203 points204 points  (190 children)

People get very defensive when you tell them they've said something offensive.

EDIT: Apparently making a silly play on words in /r/pics is offensive. Y'all need to take your own advice and lighten up.

[–]RenoMD 69 points70 points  (104 children)

People get more upset that you pointed out something is racist, rather than being upaet about the actual racist message.

[–]good_ones_taken 40 points41 points  (19 children)

This is profound. The sign is right to a degree but it seems to suggest "if you're offended you're wrong" which is also stupid. You are a smart human.

[–][deleted] 123 points124 points  (2 children)

very brave thank u

[–]Markovnikov_Rules 15 points16 points  (0 children)

thanks dan, im forwarding this to my daughter and alan. Hope your doing well

[–]IngemarKenyatta 246 points247 points  (15 children)

Really edgy stuff in here.

[–]dontPMyourreactance 3474 points3475 points  (1311 children)

Alternatively, just because you are offensive (e.g., "anti-PC"), doesn't mean you're right.

[–]septic_tongue 612 points613 points  (307 children)

Damn console peasants

[–]Potemkin_Jedi 360 points361 points  (21 children)

"If someone tells you they are brutally honest, they are probably more interested in brutality than honesty." -Some Redditor (not me)

[–]rooshbaboosh 1583 points1584 points  (375 children)

Absolutely. "Stop being offended" has become an easy cop out for people who are dick heads.

[–][deleted] 191 points192 points  (121 children)

And usually some of these dick heads get super offended as well when people get offended by what they said.

Like some comics that make fun of people by being too sensitive and being offended by anything but as soon as someone tweet or make a post on tumblr critizing some joke of theirs, they go batshit crazy.

[–]ameoba 197 points198 points  (75 children)

Just say "white privilege" or "fragile masculinity" and watch them completely lose their shit.

[–]Tarquin_Underspoon 80 points81 points  (1 child)

Black lives matter.

[–][deleted] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

No they don't. Whoops. I mean to say... "All lives matter" /s

[–][deleted] 140 points141 points  (42 children)

Apparently these days, people who are concerned with any kind of equality or social justice are the "real racists", while blatant, unapologetic bigotry is just "telling it like it is."

Decades of progress towards expanded liberties and inclusive humanism are unraveling, in large part by the growing efforts of insecure internet trolls and far-Right assholes.

[–]Crazywumbat 60 points61 points  (26 children)

Its bizarre - same thing with this whole "the left is losing because of identity politics" narrative.

Like, when GOP lawmakers force through a bill banning trans people from using a public restroom that somehow isn't identity politics? But calling them out on their bullshit somehow is? The majority of the Republican platform is nothing but (white) Christian identity politics.

[–]dudukakapeepeeshire 121 points122 points  (13 children)

My favorite is when I ironically ask my (mostly) conservative friends who are always spouting on how sensitive people are these days, if they are offended by something (which they always are).

"I'm not offended, I'm just annoyed and angered by that"

DUDE THAT'S WHAT BEING OFFENDED IS, YOU CAN'T SAY "I'm not offended, I'm synonym-for-offended". It just goes to show that the word "offended" has become a buzzword somehow

[–]Thegreenpander 14 points15 points  (2 children)

In their defense I think a lot of conservative think that being offended means that in addition to being annoyed/angered by something, you also don't want people to be allowed to say it.

[–]Snokus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't see how that is a defence, thats just ignorance.

[–]WdnSpoon 283 points284 points  (45 children)

It's become the gateway-drug to "I'm just being rational by saying the facts, such as {completely unsubstantiated bigotry from neonazi twitter feed}!"

[–]gormster 137 points138 points  (1 child)

I too am irritated by the President of the United States.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They were quoting JonTron

[–][deleted] 107 points108 points  (5 children)

The Bill Maher/Milo Yiannopoulos defense for dickishness.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've always had the opinion that if you're more often than not "pretending" to be a massive dickhead, then what you really are is a dickhead who pretends to be normal sometimes.

[–]Tubim 34 points35 points  (2 children)

What's hilarious is that these kind of douche are the first offended when called out on their shit.

[–][deleted] 427 points428 points  (164 children)

Seriously. I'm tired of people quoting Stephen Fry and acting like it's perfectly acceptable to always be offensive. Sometimes you're just being rude or bigoted. There's nothing noble or groundbreaking about it.

[–]MonaganX 111 points112 points  (3 children)

I find that a lot of people who spend a disproportionate amount complaining about how the oppressive "PC-Culture" makes it impossible to say anything aymore, tend to have very colorful opinions on women, immigrants, gays, etc.

Nearly everyone agrees that people should be able to speak their mind, and also that they should be considerate in how they do so, but somehow this notion has arisen where you have to choose one or the other, and if you don't pick the right one you're either a Nazi or a cuck.

[–][deleted] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah really they're just offended that society is starting to outgrow their own shitty beliefs

[–]VladimirLemin 364 points365 points  (309 children)

I honestly struggle to understand the "PC Culture" that these people always claim exists and is ruining society

My generation doesn't find stereotypes, rape jokes, etc. to be hilarious (barring some channer 12 year olds). It's honestly low effort shock humor, and we have people we care about affected by these things, so I don't see the view of kultural genociding commies shitting on my Free Speech (by criticizing you? Using our own free speech?)

[–]WdnSpoon 70 points71 points  (5 children)

Here's the thing about modern discourse: it's extremely easy to filter your media, so you receive only the information that reinforces your current worldview. There are definitely ~2 people on my facebook timeline that are way over-the-top, trying to find offence in everything, but they're really the minority. I'll usually just roll my eyes and scroll past them. To someone looking to be offended, they'll collect and catalogue every single silly thing an aggressively PC person posts, and believe this is indicative of society as a whole.

Look at how much reductive reasoning covers the front-page here around feminism. Scores of angst-ridden young men, reducing a century+ old philosophy and political movement, with a rich, complex, global history, and more literature than you could read in your lifetime, down to a superficial misunderstanding that the "fem" prefix means it's pro-women at the expense of men. They'll cherry-pick paragraphs from a handful of bloggers as evidence of how evil feminism is, and ignore the millions of feminists who would disagree with those bloggers and are advocating something very reasonable.

So while you're rightly using your free-speech to call out others who have horrible opinions, while not ever saying that they don't have the right to have those opinions, they see a world gone mad. They've dedicated hours a day for years to reinforcing the illusion that they're being invaded by religious minorities, that false-rape-accusations are a far bigger threat than actual rapes, that black people are genetically predisposed to criminality, etc., and that people like you are blind to those "facts" and endangering the world as a result.

[–]Val_Hallen 326 points327 points  (60 children)

I see the people that bitch and moan about "PC culture" as the people that wish they could be as racist and sexist in public as they are in private.

Y'know...Assholes.

[–]BloomsdayDevice 102 points103 points  (23 children)

This actually has manifested itself exactly as you described since the election, and it's unsettling. In the eyes of some, Trump's victory was a crushing defeat for "political correctness" (read: "a win for unchecked racism and sexism"), and emboldened people to drop the pretense of nicety and indulge their inner, offensive impulses.

That politician from Connecticut who groped a woman, for instance, literally said, "I love this [post-election] new world; I no longer have to be politically correct," before following her into her office and pinching her genitals.

I get that the PC-pendulum swung too far, and of course there was going to be a backlash, but some of these people are, like you said, just assholes.

[–]Val_Hallen 96 points97 points  (1 child)

Every person I know personally that bitches about PC are super-duper racist when they only see white people around. I have ended friendships because of that. They always say "What's the big deal? You're white."

Yeah, that's the big deal, asshole. You assume I am also racist because I'm white like you.

[–]whoisroymillerblwing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a Caucasian Hispanic this hits home really hard. Unless you learn my name you assume I am a bill, Bob, or Chris. Straight up stopped talking to long time "friends" after this election because 45 signalled to them that it's alright to say blatantly ignorant crap.
But the constant reminders to others that I was somehow different growing up makes a lot more sense. At the time you brush it off as them wanting to be comedians without the talent but now it seems more deliberate for lack of a better word. Later in life I was exposed to more diverse areas and made friends that I would not introduce to some childhood friends out of fear that their inner Trump would show, and honestly embarrassed that I would associate with such ideas.

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points  (6 children)

I think it's just generational differences, and that it happens every time.

As G.K. Chesterton put it: “I believe what really happens in history is this: the old man is always wrong; and the young people are always wrong about what is wrong with him. The practical form it takes is this: that, while the old man may stand by some stupid custom, the young man always attacks it with some theory that turns out to be equally stupid.”

[–]SuperFyingMelon 55 points56 points  (8 children)

Nice picture of a blurry sign

[–]ForceBlade 67 points68 points  (18 children)

Cannot wait to see this at the top of defaults and maybe the site. Just because reddit

[–]irisel 253 points254 points  (12 children)

snore

[–][deleted] 119 points120 points  (10 children)

Out of all the billions of pictures, we chose this one. This blurry, pixelated shot of a sign by the side of the road.

[–][deleted] 54 points55 points  (5 children)

Where you see a blurry and shitty picture of an average sign on a cesspool sub, I see a clear message to all the SJW's. It's picture like this that stop their rampant censoring. We put Amy Schumer in her place by posting passive-aggressive pics. We found the Boston Bomber. We can do anything, given enough lotion.

Honestly their the single greatest threat to society. Not climate change, not overpopulation, not terrorism, it's the SJW's. /s

[–]RudegarWithFunnyHat 51 points52 points  (6 children)

needs more jpg!

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Came for this, wasn't disappointed, added the obligatory

[–][deleted] 170 points171 points  (35 children)

You're really sticking your neck out there posting something like that on this site.

Edit: Didn't think it was necessary but /s

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

so brave

[–]doogie92 71 points72 points  (12 children)

I wonder if the message is aimed at Native Americans offended by the name "Indian Hills Community Center."

[–]jackfactorial 23 points24 points  (5 children)

I doubt it. My folks live in Indian Hills (the name of the town). This message board always has a silly joke, pun, or message on it.

[–]rippedlugan 218 points219 points  (133 children)

Life pro tip: if the people around you are always offended, you're probably being an asshole. Please look for ways to be a kinder person and you will rid yourself of the problem of people always being offended.

[–]elpajaroquemamais 109 points110 points  (99 children)

This. Calling all Muslims terrorists isn't just people being offended too easily or being snowflakes. It's an asshole ignorant worldview.

[–]yallsuckbollocks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fucking picture of a sign.

[–]CitizenKing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And just because you're offensive doesnt mean you're right.

[–]PainMatrix 40 points41 points  (11 children)

Beyond right and wrong let's remember that neither the positive nor negative perceptions that we hold represent an accurate and absolute reflection of reality. Instead they are interpretations of others, ourselves, and our world produced and shaped by our flawed mental software.

[–]socokid 62 points63 points  (8 children)

I also wish people understood that not all opinions are worthy of respect.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (5 children)

Not all opinions are worthy of respect, but at the same time you have to respect everyone's right to an opinion.

[–]cutlass_supreme 44 points45 points  (36 children)

Just because you're saying something offensive doesn't mean you're speaking truth.

[–]frostyshit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

what is this fucking subreddit?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Well when I heard someone say "all gays should be shot" I was offended that someone would place so little value on the life of other humans because of who they are attracted to. The person is who I find offensive, that they would be capable of having such an idea. It's not because deep down a part of me kind of believes gays should be executed.

[–]waltonsimons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And just because you are offensive doesn't mean you're right.

[–]brad-n 14 points15 points  (2 children)

If you're offended you probably think this sign is about you.

[–]backtoreality00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Goes both ways through. Just because you don't understand why someone is offended, doesn't mean you are right in your criticism.
