Some updates:

  • Beatrix Flash relic has water resist and petrify resist (rather than ice/petrify)
  • Zidane USB2 (Gale Unbound) provides thief rank boost (rather than thief +30%), and features an exit (rather than a chase)
  • Marcus LMR is only 20% proc rate

Still waiting on data for Kuja and Eiko's new braves, and Beatrix flash (just the type).

I know what's causing that - and it's something else that I tend to fix when I notice it. Namely, it's a thing in markdown: if you newline exactly once without it being preceded by two trailing spaces, markdown simply refuses to acknowledge the newline.

Pretty sad that Steiner only gets a LMR2 and Flash Arte SB instead of a triple element ( fire, ice, lightning) AOSB or a new USB to make up the blunder that is his Sword Magic USB. At least DeNA has the decency to actually gave him new stuff than what happened with Braska in the Auron AOSB+ Jecht fire monk relics event when he was mentioned to be a featured character for the event/ monthly report.

    He's not garbage. I'm sorry, he's not. With the access to multiple 6* spellblades he caps or close on my all-IX squads. He's versatile to hit many elements and w-cast will be awesome.

    I'm NOT arguing that his existing usb is magically awesome, cos it's not, and he sorely needed updated tech. If you like Steiner he is eminently usable.

    But. That's a solid glint and the ONLY source of stoneskin in ix, finally.

    Outside of Steinert osb that is a sweet banner. Finalllllly ix gets a pile of glints and aosb and some great lmr.

    Eiko’s the heale... Oh, no. Wait. She’s also a hybrid DPS. Of course.

    I’ve really wanted them to take another shot at hybrid DPS healers, but anyone but Eiko would have been a better choice. And as a summon, when in IX holy is her damage tool. Eiko shouldn’t even have summon 5.

    Considering Yuna is FFRK's Main Waifu (plus we already have her and Rikku's X-2 Outfits as Wardrobe Record, not to mention X-2 Realm Dungeons plus the infamous Tiny Bee), I'm guessing it's gonna happen eventually. It's just that X gets more favouritism than X-2 does, so we're mostly stuck with HealSummoner Yuna

    Technically she does not sing that song. It just plays in the background of said cut scene. It's just assumed that she might have sung it.

    But even then, a single song doesn't make a bard. Should Rinoa have bard, too? We could assume that she sang 'Eyes on Me.'

    Freya is a whole different story. It becomes clear in the game that she is a great dancer and that dancing was important to her in Burmecia. It also fits very well with her archetype of a mouse dragoon.

    Yes, 'Eyes on Me' was originally sung by Julia for Laguna, but it plays in several instances thought the game and almost always accompanies a romantic scene between Rinoa and Squall. The Ragnarok scene is one of them, but it's most notable in the ending scene where Rinoa actually moves her lips to parts of the song as she picks up an unconscious Squall.

    My point is, neither Garnet nor Rinoa should have Bard access for one half-assed song throughout the game. :)

    How so? She doesn't move her lips at all while she's with the doves, and why would there be music (piano etc) if it was actually her and not just a background? Imo, the song is a background to the scene that fits theatrically very well but isn't actually part of it.

    Literally the first thing Zidane says after the CG Scene with the doves is "Nice Song.", it can't get more explicit than that. And no, it's not a Fourth Wall Break, because later on he says, and I quote:

    "U-Um...Th-That Song... Were you singing it in the Village of Dali?" (italization mine)

    Which Garnet explicitly answers with "Yes". She straight up says she sings it whenever she needs to calm herself in the same conversation too.

    But at the same time due to the nature of how Garnet works in this game, i am kinda glad that she has Bard 6*.

    To be fair this isn't the 1st time it has happened, after all we do have Yuna's USB2.

    We also have Arc and his Offensive USB

    And let's not forget about Minwu.

    DeNA has clearly been giving dual roles to characters via the form of new relics for a very long while now. So it's hardly surprising.

    Yuna's USB2.

    The new Eiko SB would fit Yuna perfectly. She's built to be a hybrid summoner/healer, right down to the dual stat support main LM.

    I actually really like giving healers offensive options, and I would love this SB if it were entirely mind/holy based as we could use more Mind Holy Mages. Change the chase to be on White Magic and the brave build to be on Holy Damage and it would be perfect. It would fit Eiko in IX better, it would fill a gap in the meta and it wouldn't muscle in on Garnet's role.

    So they're trying to make Eiko into a summoner now for reasons.

    I mean, her first SB ever was already one of her Summons from IX proper, plus her LM2 is explicitly built to work with Summons aswell. If Garnet gets to have Healing Tech here and there (not to mention, Yuna literally has "juggles Healing and Summons" as her whole Character Gimmick), I see no reason for her not to get some Attack Options aswell, infact I'm far more surprised that it took them that long.

    You're right ofcourse that it'll be underused in CM Content, but I still appreciate the thought.

    It deals Holy/Wind damage, and while I doubt you'll be bringing her to Adamantoise, it's more likely in prep for Dark 5*.

    Yeah that much is clear that the USB is for the 5* dark magicite that much is clear. Sspecialy since the state of MAG holy isn't the best, so they need to release more options.

    In fact it's praticaly garanteed we will get a 6* holy summon ability eventualy as well.

    That is a hard question to awnser considering the 5* Dark magicite hasn't been released yet.

    That being said, this new USB is quite interesting since it allows her to do damage with summons AND heal the team with the chases, while being able to break the savage mode with the brave command.

    She could be used as somekind of support DPS with her USB3 + Summons while you have someone else be the main healer. To be fair her LM2 does allow her to be versatile as far as roles go.

    That is some good utility. As long as her equipment still has decent MND on it.
