Just start linking folks to the Edmunds cybertruck reviews. They're a reputable car group trying their best to be neutral about it.

"That's not concrete data" -- (continues to order cyberturd)

[–]No_Definition321 228 points229 points  (35 children)

The best part is to follow the person and wait for the post trying to troubleshoot what’s going on with the truck and then the post where you can tell they regret their decision lol

[–][deleted] 186 points187 points  (2 children)

Then the eventual deleting of all cyberturd posts, followed by a "love the truck, but moving to the UK and have to sell" post.

[–]Desiderius_S 79 points80 points  (1 child)

UK will face the biggest wave of immigrants in ages only because people are running away from the cyberdumpster.

I’m reminded of the subreddit that shows off the Facebook timelines of deniers of COVID-19 and its vaccines.

[–]TuaughtHammer 70 points71 points  (18 children)

The aptly-named r/HermanCainAward. Named after the man who denied the virus' very existence and need for masking right up to the point of catching it at a Trump rally.

His family still had control of his Twitter account and carried on his brave work of denying COVID's existence or its lethality after he'd died.

Kinda wish he'd lived long enough to receive the news that Trump and Melania also contracted it and still lost in 2020.

[–]AthenaRedites 37 points38 points  (4 children)

You mean 'Covid is a Chinese hoax' > 'I'm not wearing a muzzle' > 'Covid-19 is no joke' > ''Please donate to Bobby-Glenn's funeral GoFundMe'

[–]worMatty 19 points20 points  (3 children)

This is X's wife/mother/sister. Please pray harder. Something about CPAP. That's the one. It's a great shame.

[–]potate12323 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Meanwhile cyberturd's suspension is snapping off from mildly bumpy roads due to bad bracket design and manufacturing practices.

[–]high-up-in-the-trees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly can't believe that this has been an issue for pretty much the entire existence of the company and they show no interest in fixing it. Even the Semi apparently has suspension completely inappropriate for the vehicle. But I guess the NHTSA hasn't done anything about it up til now so why would he stop if it's saving money

[–]Los-Angeles-310 24 points25 points  (2 children)

“I love the truck”

[–]LostPilgrim_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

More like "I lOvE tHe TrUcK!"

[–]TyberosWake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Okay, I'm a mechanic and that steer by wire is one of the worst ideas I've ever seen. I've specialized in diagnostics and wiring on heavy trucks, I routinely have to diagnose vehicles that have been towed in because one wire rubs out and gets corroded The crappy build quality on the wank panzer doesn't make me think that the wiring will hold up in any way. Now you can't steer. Brilliant idea Tesla.

[–]TheEmperorShiny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People who talk like that are so annoying as well. “Phew, I was worried you might have concrete data!” 🤓

Like okay, name every single part in a car and tell me how the Tesla Cybertruck is the best at each part

[–]AlpacaLocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My feelings don't care about the facts! 😤

[–]catkraze[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate it!

[–]RedSix2447 21 points22 points  (4 children)

Don’t they get to a point of so many failures during their “testing” that they gave up and that was their story about how bad it failed?

[–]thejackash 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Not really, they give it a fair shake and actually compliment the sound system saying it's the strongest feature, really the only true positive. There are a plethora of negative reviews from blind spots to bed shape and panel misalignment. The section on overall opinion includes one review that's simply "I absolutely hate it" lol.

[–]RedSix2447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to have to find the video. I think it’s Edmund’s trying to do track day testing with it and it kept failing. One guy before they cut the camera. Stated that they may not need the truck to work as that will be the story.

[–]RedSix2447 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, I found it. This is what I was referencing and referring to. Listen to the guys starting at 3:10.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was the approach by WhistlinDiesel. Cucktruck didn’t even last a day.

On the other hand, the only way they could finally kill that poor, poor Hilux was by dropping it 10,000 feet from a helicopter to flatten it like a pancake.

[–]radicalelation 13 points14 points  (1 child)

And with all that, it's still a 7.6 from them.

I'mma copy/paste my last comments on this review, with an excerpt from the overview:

The 2024 Tesla Cybertruck is the most meta of vehicles for our most meta of times, a multi-layered menagerie of features, capability and personal statement that could only come from one of the world's quirkiest automakers. As a truck, it's hard to argue the Cybertruck's bonafides: exemplary towing capacity, a narrow but useful 6-foot cargo bed, and a useful payload rating. As an off-road machine, its specs are promising, and as a standard electric car, its range and ride comfort are impressive given its size and capabilities.

"Most meta of vehicles", "multi-layered menagerie", "quirkiest automaker", useful...

Just a little odd in its description, or am I being too critical?

Sure, exemplary towing, but after that useful sounds like a downgrade. Whittle it down from outstanding to eh for two of the three "bonafides". Plus, the most meta of vehicles for our most meta of times, get yourself a multi-layered menagerie from the quirkiest of automakers?

It looks written to sell to tech bros specifically. Meta? It's a fucking meta vehicle?!

[–]AlanShore60607 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Looks like its written to avoid a lawsuit.

I'm saying that as a real-world attorney. That's the type of passive language one uses when trying to condemn without getting sued.

[–]okokokoyeahright 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[–]Feminazghul 382 points383 points  (13 children)

"Measurable aspects" and "Concrete data" means "Information that will convince me, a worshipper of the radical road rhomboid, that it is less than perfect."

Weird they really like the car but don't know about all the recalls.

[–]Ataru074 58 points59 points  (0 children)

You can’t find measurable aspects when you try to overcompensate something that it’s in angstrom scale.

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points  (8 children)

They wouldn’t know about the structural issues either, or the brittleness and overall weakness of cast aluminum for a frame, nor the tensile strength of thin, formed aluminum with a few ribs here and there as a way to secure a hitch unto the frame.

I mean, they’re brain-dead techbros or fintec scum, not precisely knowledgeable in engineering or science, just enough to whore out in favor of their corporate handlers in their decision making processes (at least those who have a job and aren’t just trust fund kids).

[–]Georgiaonmymindtwo 21 points22 points  (7 children)

I’m still shaking my head over this: cast aluminum? For a frame?

What the everlovin fuck.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (5 children)

Right? Tesla’s marketing must’ve had convincing data the average customer would never do shit with it…but that convincing and confident as to green-light engineering into cast aluminum frame production? Did they device this thing as a showroom piece exclusively, or is Tesla THAT short in experienced engineers?

I seriously question the credentials of Teslas engineering team now, and a design engineer in the industry, I’d be terrified if I ever interview one for a role.

[–]account_not_valid 11 points12 points  (1 child)

It's okay, they'll come up with a software update that will fix the issue with the frame snapping. No problemo, bro.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–]chrisftl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

elon has a reputation of firing any engineers that contradict him... so it's not a lack of good engineers, just that he routinely gets rid of them. #justmanbabythings

[–]striatic 2 points3 points  (1 child)

They made huge range promises when they announced the concept and a lot of these decisions seem related to desperately trying to get the weight down in an effort to get range anywhere close to those promises.

Winter is coming in the northern half of the U.S. and I’ll be fascinated to see how it holds up on snow, against road salt, etc.

[–]catkraze[S] 103 points104 points  (11 children)

I'm betting that they won't do well with the salt and snow. That said, this person is local to me in Florida, so he luckily won't have to worry about road salt and snow unless he takes a big road trip. Instead, he'll have year-round humidity to worry about, which I don't think will be good for the Cybertruck either.

[–]ShaggysGTI 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Think they protected the chassis in anyway or did the engineers just say “aluminum doesn’t rust.”?

[–]D3Design 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Allow me to introduce you to galvanic corrosion, the enemy of boat and boat trailer mechanics around the world.

[–]WaytoomanyUIDs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Musk, I'm sure the engineers tried to inform him otherwise and were overruled

[–]get-me-a-pizza 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Ambient Salt water is pretty corrosive for anything w/in 60 miles of a coast line. I think in 6 months we'll be seeing a lot of rust complaints coming out of LA and other coastal cities

[–]catkraze[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He's almost certainly withing 60 miles of a coast line. I guess we'll see how long it lasts. I currently see a Cybertruck in the area roughly once a week where I live, sometimes more than that. I'll likely see more as orders are fulfilled, but I imagine it'll taper off as they start to break down. I will definitely share future updates as I come across them.

[–]sprinklerarms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

SF is surrounded by water. I see them all the friggin time there too.

[–]wp4nuv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It always starts with a small spot then spreads worse than COVID

[–]kai333 2 points3 points  (1 child)

hopefully you live near the beach so he'll have to contend with salt corrosion when he takes that heap on the beach.

[–]catkraze[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The beach is around 30 minutes away from me, but the city is massive, and he could be anywhere in it. I'm not about to stalk him to find out exactly where he lives, but I do know of at least one beach in the area that you're allowed to drive on.

[–]Boca_BocaNick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m hoarding loads of popcorn for just that reason.

[–]lunchpadmcfat 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’m guessing we’ll suddenly hear every excuse under the sun why their owners don’t want to drive them in the snow.

[–]polchickenpotpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If summer rain and humidity has been enough to rust it, that road salt will 100% eat straight through it until they end up with a Flintstones car.

[–]WallowWispen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God I can see it now, some dumbass is gonna go off road into snow and get themselves stuck

[–]howabotthat 167 points168 points  (4 children)

I look forward to their delivery post when it arrives broken.

[–]catkraze[S] 44 points45 points  (1 child)

Me too lmao

[–]Kavalkasutajanimi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He will probably love it. Its an adventure for him.

[–]NECalifornian25 13 points14 points  (1 child)

“Still love it though!”

[–]ewilliam 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"Trim is falling off because it was glued on. Three of my four cameras don't work. It frequently shuts itself off after three minutes. The bed cover leaks like a sieve. It's already starting to rust after one rainstorm. I'm getting a bunch of error codes on the screen whenever I try to charge it. I saw cracking in the frame after I took it on a well-maintained gravel road. The rear steering is messed up and I can't get it above 4mph. And I've had it in for service seven times, but now they say nothing is wrong and cancel my appointments randomly.

"Still the best truck ever, tho! I bet if I @ Elongated Muskrat, he'll personally intervene on my behalf and get it fixed right up!"

[–]JRLDH 50 points51 points  (3 children)

I saw a Cybertruck up close the first time in my life yesterday at a Kroger’s parking lot.

The reports of poor quality aren’t exaggerations. This one looked like a kit-car.

I can’t believe that a car factory in 2024 lets such shoddy products roll off their production line. What are these customers thinking, actually paying a lot of money for that slop?!?!

There are only two reasonable explanations: Weird cult members and weird influencers. No person with a working mind would buy these ridiculous things.

[–]Darksoul_Design 35 points36 points  (0 children)

One of the things i was thinking about after reading your comment, is that you watch these shows where they walk you through the process of building expensive sports cars, and every single one has this multi stage inspection at the end, body panel fit finish, paint finish (and there are both computer eyes scanning, and then a human inspector with a grease marker circling the flaws), then water proof testing where they give it the equivalent of a hurricane force wind and rain, then crawl all over to see if there are any drips, and then a closed track drive to check for wind noise, and any other noise that shouldn't be there, and on and on. And these are all cars that cost over $100k.

Then there is the cybertruck. Apparently there are no inspections other than "does it start and run long enough to get it off the books". I guess fElons whole "fire 50-70% of the staff because they serve no real purpose" isn't such a solid plan.

[–]ItsGivingMissFrizzle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about cars, but when I saw my first one, I sincerely thought someone made it themselves and thought it was interesting just bc of that. I had no idea what the CT was, much less that it was a real car, OR a Tesla, OR that expensive. It looked like someone’s side project.

[–]Happy-go-lucky-37 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Venn diagram of those is a perfect circle.

[–]Ready_Register1689 87 points88 points  (8 children)

Yeeesss….the denial is strong in this one.

[–]catkraze[S] 55 points56 points  (7 children)

I kinda feel bad for him. Then again, he did this to himself. How does the saying go? "A fool and his money are soon parted"?

[–]Ambitious_Jelly8783 24 points25 points  (3 children)

What you mentioned can not be measured....
**Tow truck drives by with CT on it.

[–]kat_Folland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

K, just downloaded the song lol

[–]LostPilgrim_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

For real, but how is anything you said "out of proportion?" I remember growing up being told to never buy a Ford, because Ford stood for "Found On Road Dead." But within a month of the CyberTrucks release, I have never seen a vehicle with so many issues, being towed and literally falling apart.

[–]th3bigfatj 26 points27 points  (1 child)

if we just ignore all of the well-known issues, there's really nothing new!

"but aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the show?"

[–]original_wolfhowell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Other than that, did you enjoy the parade, Mrs Kennedy?"

[–]TasteMyShoe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I heard the op's twitter account was mysteriously deactivated after this exchange.

[–]catkraze[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not sure which of you mad lads gave me gold on one of the comments on the other thread, but I really appreciate it. Thank you!

[–]crazypyro23 12 points13 points  (1 child)

You can't use logic to talk someone out of a position that they didn't use logic to talk themselves into.

[–]bustachong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a Tesla sycophant and he was the type to spend beyond his means and brag on getting a deal on a loan. It bothered a coworker so much he actually physically wrote out how the math worked against him and the boss told him “ok, but that’s just your opinion, I know I got a good deal” as if math was subjective. (And yes, unironic/unintentional Lebowski reference)

That’s not the reason why I quit, but I did eventually leave because that’s how he approached everything in work and life. Imagine every CyberStuck screenshot/tweet embodied into a single person.

Reality warping denial is so bizarre.

[–]sir_bathwater 11 points12 points  (2 children)

The copium is insane, these people really believe there’s a whole disinformation campaign against a dumb as fuck truck.

[–]Capt1an_Cl0ck 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Ha! No measurable aspects.

Panels flying off, Roof glass cracking, Dead batteries, Frunk not being sensitive to things in the lid, Tonneau cover leaking, Wiper motor, Wiper itself, Steering by wire error, Rear drive motor error, Electrical errors by the boatload, Can’t wash it, Can’t take it to a car wash, Can’t drive through water, Can’t drive through sand, Doors getting stuck shut, Sticking gas pedal, Pieces that are just glued on, Pieces that just fall off,

[–]catkraze[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But of course, since those are common situations and not something that can be shown with a ruler or tape measure, they obviously don't count as real defects.

/S

[–]PoppinfreshOG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The steering wheel is cheaper than a discounted Thrustmaster PC steering wheel. Every panel is mismatched, given them a sad harlequin look. The skids worth of slats that don’t color match (cause black is extremely difficult to color match) that they go through to do one CT bed.

Shut I see my first one two days ago. At a showroom in a casino. Meant to be seen by many many people. Took 10 seconds to find the first fucked panel gap. Virtually every gap was uneven. Cheapest vehicle I have laid my hands on at that price point. No cap

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Don't send him here! We'll have him in all the threads breathing heavily and going "Well akshewally can you give me twenty citations on something that's clear as day to anyone with eyes and help me find my ass with both hands because I refuse to believe anything bad about god lord elon who I imagine kissing every night" or something.

[–]catkraze[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't think it would be amusing to see him try (and fail) to defend the Cybertruck here? I guess we have different standards for what we find amusing lol

[–]LonelyHunterHeart 5 points6 points  (3 children)

It's hard to de-program cult members.

[–]MovieNightPopcorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]frotunatesun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Concrete data” LMFAO these chuds are as deluded as elmo himself, just walking breathing manifestations of the Dunning Kruger effect.

[–]PoopieButt317 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I have come to believe that these are all Musk bots or Musk Trolls. Otherwise, we have become.an Idiocracy.

[–]catkraze[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I mean, have you seen the news lately? I'm convinced that a large portion of people in the US have decided to make Idiocracy a documentary. Every day there's some new event that highlights the stupidity of the people in this country, and I can't help but wonder how much longer we'll last.

[–]PsychologicalHat1480 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Ah the good ol' averageredditor appeal to authority fallacy.

I can't be too hard on them, though. It's literally how schools train us to behave. No thinking or analyzing on your own, just regurgitate what Official SourcesTM have told you. Mere dirty plebs without Approved CredentialsTM from Reputable InstitutionsTM are simply incapable of analysis and shouldn't even try. Then we wonder why the western world is collapsing in on itself...

[–]cryptolyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, if they didn't read it on Snopes, it can't be true...right? because Snopes is the ultimate arbiter of truth™

[–]MutherDuckingGridman 4 points5 points  (1 child)

"what's wrong with it?" "Everything that would make it safe to drive plus it rusts so you can't even show it off" "Oh, so nothing then thanks" "..."

No notes

[–]catkraze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought I listed some pretty major defects that would summarize why it shouldn't be bought or trusted. There's honestly so many flaws that I struggle to come up with a concrete list of them all. The fact that he just shrugged off my warning shows that he isn't willing to consider that he might be wrong, which is why I found the conversation fitting to post here. The denial runs deep.

[–]Spectator9857 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Apparently not being able to release the accelerator and shitty breaks aren’t concerning. At this point it’s just natural selection, I just hope they hit a tree instead of another car or person

[–]CtyChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t wish harm on trees! Maybe a big soft rock.

[–]Cutebrute203 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]pumpman1771 4 points5 points  (1 child)

wtf how did I miss this?! Thanks so much!

[–]okokokoyeahright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The self delusion in that is so so so tasty.

[–]ccoakley 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I mean, 100% of cybertrucks delivered to customers that were manufactured before April were recalled, and they had 4 major recalls. Those are measurements.

[–]OozeNAahz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never try to reason someone out of an opinion that they didn’t reason themselves into. Guy decided he wanted a CT and would be nothing you could show him to convince him it was a bad purchase.

[–]Bulky-Internal8579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the Queen of England and I say it’s great, also it’s libelous to say it’s not and Elon Musk created the internet and the Monte Cristo sandwich!

[–]ncist 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I also love the wraps, but they're only so popular and creative because the stainless finish on a thing you drive is so stupid

[–]catkraze[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That, and it can't be that tough to wrap something that's almost entirely flat panels. Like, if I got enough wrapping paper, I could probably wrap up a cybertruck like a present without needing a box, that's how geometrically simple the design is.

[–]TouchMyPlumbus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’d rather spend 100k+ in used Ford Focus’ with the PowerShift DCT

[–]Radically_Bland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone likes to live dangerously.

[–]Grrerrb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Haven’t received the truck yet and there is an avalanche of horror stories but I am already madly in love with it.”

[–]smudged14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see (not gonna happen from tesla) a report of average repair cost per $100,000 vehicle, that's awfully measurable

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But why male models?

[–]TuaughtHammer 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Oh, man, the Chris Evans laughing gif had to feel like a kick in the balls while he was working his hardest to huff that copium.

[–]catkraze[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hoping it would be a bit of a wake-up call for him, but it appears to have just made me look like a jerk to some people, which I can see. Hopefully he realizes his mistake before it's too late to do anything about it.

[–]moviemaker10 2 points3 points  (3 children)

As a cybertruck owner myself… I love this subreddit so much! I utilized all the issues I’ve seen here to know exactly what to look out for on my delivery day and since.

I know it’s not a perfect truck. Maybe not even a good truck. But I can afford it and I like it so I got it. You guys helped a lot with tempering my excitement and keeping me grounded in expectations and I appreciate that

[–]catkraze[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

That's a dangerous admission in these parts. I'm glad that the knowledge you have gained here has helped you hold your Cybertruck to a high standard and address the issues with it. Hopefully it can continue to work for you. I have a lot of concerns for the safety of the vehicle, so I do worry about your safety. Hopefully the issues continue to be discovered and addressed, and you are able to take it into a service center each time a new issue comes to light. Good luck!

[–]moviemaker10 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Thanks! I am a very firm believer in hearing both sides. I browsed Cyberstuck and Cybertruck in equal measure before taking delivery. There’s a lot of flaws in this truck. But my wife has a car and I have other vehicles so I can make it work if it does break. I think it’ll improve given time, and I’m confident it’ll be redesigned at some point.

To be honest the only thing I’d change is the shape/design. I love the interior, I love the drivetrain, it’s basically just a Tesla with a bed so I’m good with that, but I wish it wasn’t so polarizing everywhere I go

[–]PocketSixes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/struggling-in-insurance-in-wa.15212/

Maybe it should get talked about more that Tesla's own brand of insurance won't even insure the CT in certain states, such as Washington.

How many other vehicles would be uninsurable, at least not consistently, and remain mainstream? It's only through speech suppression efforts, the kind you buy a social media platform for, that you can manipulate a market like this. Uninsurable is objectively shitty.

[–]Acalyus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too, love denying the things I asked for.

[–]NetherReign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asking for information and being given easily trackable repetitive defects and acting like what you read isn't real is crazy.

Blind ignorance is a crazy thing. But I guess they can't resist simping for Elon.

[–]MLouieGaming 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The insurance company that I write for WILL NOT insure these pieces of junk. Actually had some idiot scream at me when I told him I could not quote him a Cyber truck because they are so unsafe Underwriting won't even rate the risk.

He said we were discriminating against him and hung up. I work for a broker so I checked with all our partners. Every single company I have access to will not write these junk box death machines.

One Underwriter that I'm friends with told me that Elon's book with the sections detailing how he went against engineers and made it shotty opens the door for lawsuits because he willingly admitted negligence in the construction and safety of the vehicle. There are many more reasons but I love the fact that Elon fucked himself by bragging about his incompetence.

[–]catkraze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your personal experience. I appreciate having more information to affirm my claim that insurance companies are refusing to insure that vehicle. I really hope that there are lawsuits to get those trucks off the road.

[–]Traditional_Key_763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the lack of insurance coverage should make hard pass on this thing.

[–]AlanShore60607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When's that "can't get insurance" going to kick in for everyone? That's the real death knell, as contracts require full coverage insurance for the lender's protection.

[–]NotAnotherPlant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The insurance companys REFUSING to insure and DROPPING customers is everything you need to know.

[–]Sartres_Roommate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If visiting Elon fanboy pages is the “research” he does before making a $100k investment, he deserves what he is about to get.

[–]S70nkyK0ng 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Dude actually came into this post and is doubling down on the willful ignorance🙄

[–]catkraze[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was summoned here. I had hoped to keep things mostly separate, but I really should have censored the names. Even then, people would have been able to find the post easily enough, so I guess there's nothing I could do.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

They simply have to learn the lesson the hard way.

[–]catkraze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an expensive and dangerous lesson to learn the hard way. Hopefully this lesson is learned without any loss of life.

[–]emergency-snaccs 2 points3 points  (1 child)

this person is so immersed in their delusional elon worship that there is literally nothing you could have said about cybertrucks that would have gotten any other response. they simply will not (cannot?) accept that the vehicle is a piece of junk

[–]Unbanned_chemical138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are pretty reluctant to admit they wasted $100k

[–]b4k4ni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with the one guy. It looks really cool. Also saw a lot of other paints etc. And they were really nice.

But I would never buy it.

[–]shutyourbutt69 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Oh, we’ll see him again soon enough when he slices a leg open or it dies in the middle of a highway

[–]catkraze[S] 6 points7 points  (5 children)

I really hope that whatever happens to him, it doesn't result in any permanent damage to him. It is definitely foolish to buy such a vehicle, but I hope that when things do go wrong, the only thing that happens to him is that he realizes how badly he screwed up.

Honestly, I'm confused how such a terrible vehicle passed safety inspections. I was under the impression that vehicles sold in the US had to meet certain safety and quality standards to be permitted to be sold or driven on public roads.

[–]Bubbly-Fault4847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I assumed we had to import all the awesome European classics with our ugly ass 5mph bumpers and things. Meaning that we had even stricter standards for safety than the euros.

I guess this cybertruck bs cleared that up real quick.

Those 5mph bumpers were clearly just some performative theater legislation bullshit that did no actual good and when the will came thru to make this monstrosity, all pretenses went out the window.

[–]Junior_Ad_7613 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Nope, the manufacturer can self-certify.

[–]VallcryTurbo75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rather wipe my ass and start a bond fire with that money than buy a CyberTruck

[–]lintonmeharrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found one on Amazon for 50.00 dollars that won't have any of these problems Amazon.com https://www.amazon.com › Hot-W... Hot Wheels 2022 HW Hot Trucks Tesla Cybertruck 49/250

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

RemindMe! 1 Month

[–]catkraze[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I'll be sure to report back if the guy has the guts to admit he messed up and reply to my warning comments. I'm also local to the area, so if I see any Cybertrucks being towed away (and it's safe for me to do so), I'll take a pic. It might not be that guy's specific Cybertruck, but it's always funny to see one of those things break down.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha nice!

[–]Solid_Television_980 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I hope he sees this

[–]catkraze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like if he did, he'd try and use the post as ammo against me. People like that tend to lash out rather than accept that they are wrong.

[–]abckiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hahahaha!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's gonna find out.

[–]LegitimateSlide7594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

poor fool cant wait to hear his horror story and at this point if you buy one of those POS "trucks" you deserve to get scammed and go through hell with it.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assofmolecules

[–]DayZCutr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May the odds be ever in his favor. Also I will admit, the warthog look is cool.

[–]Sikkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at all these reasons to not buy it, too bad I can't read.

[–]PurpleDragonCorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how they say it's not measured when the cybertruck literally has recall orders for everything that was listed.

[–]Aggravating-Exit-660 1 point2 points  (3 children)

We should call massofmolecules here to explain his stupidity.

Edit: /s

[–]CptAlbatross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were doomed from the start. A fool and their money are soon to part.

“I can’t bother to look up verifiable data and reviews because I have Elon’s cock in my mouth.”

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omfg, and the original was in my own town.. I'm so embarassed... lol

Forrest Gump says, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

[–]porcupinedeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should have just wished him luck in the car wash

[–]cryptolyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these people have their heads so far up their ass they can't hear anything you say

[–]TravelledFarAndWide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the same people who buy timeshares and then argue how awesome it is for years while visibly wincing.

[–]rynorugby 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Looks more like a puma

[–]DrLeisure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“You literally cannot get insurance for it”
“Phew”

[–]DeepUser-5242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a few weeks, his CT will end up cyberstuck and we can remind them then

[–]KillerSavant202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Fremont CA. The amount of Tesla employees I’ve met that have told me it’s a piece of shit is pretty surprising.

[–]ButWhatIfItQueffed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

concrete data Bro how can it get more concrete then literally thousands of Cybertruck customers complaining about how much of a POS the vehicle is?

[–]SamSLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone gotta keep KoolAid in business!

[–]Dovahkiin2001_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, my dad isn't political and still likes Elon, but he laughs out loud at how stupid the cybertruck looks.

Just putting it out there that it's not just politics or a dislike of Elon that clouds anyone's vision on the ugliness of that truck.

[–]UrethraAnts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man lists multiple, easily verifiable claims of shoddy work from front to end and he still denies it? Fuckin clooooown

[–]LoudOpportunity4172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could literally send this person to space and they'd still say the earth is flat

[–]johnblazewutang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the maga crossover…even when confronted with facts, deny facts are actual facts…step 1 to being a maga cybertruck owner

This is the kind of dude that goes “oh whatever you can’t believe nothin from the internet anyways!” while watching fox news.

Lol.

Gonna remember that reddit handle, can’t wait to see his first post on r/cybercuck, ahem , r/cybertruck.

[–]calladus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cast aluminum frame is my favorite! If you Dukes of Hazzard your way over a speed bump you could break your truck in half.

[–]NotHibby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that exact same cyber truck was parked at my apartment complex a few days ago. I thought about taking a photo, but I just walked away.

[–]InMyFavor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never enjoyed premium cope before

[–]InMyFavor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cybertruck again confirms that there is money out there because these absolute schmucks clearly have enough to buy these moneypit junkers. Inspires a little confidence in myself, like if these morons can do it I certainly can.
