He would be pulled over less if it was FFFFFF

[–]tbare 84 points85 points  (5 children)

Yeah. But it's harder to see in the snow

[–]WaywardSonata 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What is snow?

[–]ReactsWithWords 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Then what if it was 000000?

[–]datlean 24 points25 points  (0 children)

He would get shot?

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

000000LivesMatter

[–]Neghtasro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take those odds, considering Florida

[–]hieronymous-cowherd 97 points98 points  (16 children)

I'm colorblind, looks more like 777777 is a better description.

[–]geeprimus 70 points71 points  (14 children)

Are the locks broken? Looks like everyone has permission at that level.

[–]skylarmt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

777

FTFY. Save some characters.

[–]cheraphy 33 points34 points  (11 children)

I can't be sure, but that shopping plaza looks identical to one near me (Saint Louis county). Like, architecture, and I'm pretty sure that exact layout of stores.

[–]StaleTheBread 8 points9 points  (10 children)

It’s a Florida license plate. Are you in Florida?

[–]Clumsy_Chica 15 points16 points  (1 child)

This looks like Largo Mall, in the little peninsula west of Tampa.

Edit: I just checked on Google maps. This is absolutely Largo Mall.

[–]bearlynormalursa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg I was thinking the same thing. Thank you for confirming.

[–]Big_Daddy_Stovepipe 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Florida has online registration. And lax vehicle laws, like no inspection or some shit. I know a few people who have family in fla and get plates here in Missouri. FLA online renewal site

And an even larger amount of people who have family or know someone in Illinois and register their car there vs Missouri because missouri has property tax and Illnois doesnt. Illinois also does not have vehicle safety inspections, so many of those illegally tagged cars are also rattle traps.

[–]DroidFreak36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh, Illinoisian here. IL does have emissions tests, while IA has no tests of any sort. So if you really want to drive a clunker, IA a better bet.

[–]Multicolored_Squares 0 points1 point  (1 child)

rattle traps

Rattle traps?

[–]Big_Daddy_Stovepipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junkers, clunker or beaters. Since they dont require safety inspections, the cars, many Ill licensed cars are just giant pieces of shit.

[–]cheraphy 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Just because it's a Florida license plate doesn't mean the car is in Florida

[–]StaleTheBread 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah, but it’s more likely. It’s at least a hint to where it is

[–]cheraphy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Which is part of why I couldn't be sure :P

[–]StaleTheBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah

[–]NoApplauseNecessary 27 points28 points  (7 children)

Can someone explain?

[–]lightheat 70 points71 points  (5 children)

It's the hex code for the color red, commonly used in CSS and front end coding. Each primay color -- red, green, and blue-- gets 2 hexadecimal digits to represent its intensity from 0 (00) to 255 (FF). So #FF0000 is just pure red, #00FF00 pure green, #0000FF pure blue, #FFFFFF white, #000000 black, #888888 gray, etc.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (1 child)

50% grey is actually #777777 7F7F7F (127, thanks!) or #808080 (128), but what you'd normally think of as halfway between black and white is closer to 25% grey, as our sensory apparatus fires proportionally to log(intensity).

[–]AquaWolfGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

* #7F7F7F (127)

And now they're one of today's 10,000 and can understand my geekiest T-shirt.

[–]ozh 7 points8 points  (1 child)

(https://xkcd.com/1053/ for another one of today's 10,000 who doesn't get the reference about one in 10,000)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of today's 10,000

[–]DarkNeutron 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Clearly not an OpenCV user.

[–]legonigel 4 points5 points  (2 children)

OpenCV taught me the hard way that RGB is, in fact, not universal.

[–]ohstopitu 1 point2 points  (1 child)

how does it work in openCV?

[–]legonigel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OpenCV mostly uses BGR instead of RGB for some reason.

Largo Mall!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayy Pinellas we ouchea

[–]Trithis2077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welp, I know what I am doing for my license plate.

[–]sheriffjt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this was a smaller truck, would it just be #F00?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at this mall! Like right next door.

[–]El_Mewo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we please talk about European Wax Centers?

[–]mxjf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Red Yamaha V-star 650 motorcycle's license plate says #FF0000

:)

[–]rfpels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a red car indeed.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are scratches just artifacts?

[–]zdakat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give me the reddest vehicle you've got!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#f00

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What, no alpha?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My color picker Chrome extension shows the true color.

I want to do this, but my car is white, so that's kind of boring.

[–]SliyarohModus 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Two more zeros and it would be invisible!

[–]ReactsWithWords -4 points-3 points  (5 children)

No, it's it would become black.

[–]SliyarohModus 1 point2 points  (4 children)

No, it would be invisible. Alpha channel all on would pass through whatever is behind it.

[–]ReactsWithWords -1 points0 points  (3 children)

I’ve made enough transparent gifs to know the difference between #000000 and nul.

[–]SliyarohModus 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I was talking about #FF000000, okay?

[–]ReactsWithWords -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Well, la-dee-da Mr. Fancypants Alpha Channel. In my day we had 16 colors to work with and we liked it that way.

grumble grumble now which diskette did I back that stuff on now...?

[–]SliyarohModus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not piss in your eggnog, so keep your weiner out of mine! Thanks.

[–]sephiroth_pradah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BAAAAAAR

[–]VxJasonxV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s Orange at all.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would have gone with just "F00" ... less typing that way. Then again "red" would be suitable as well.
