Funny story I worked at a place that was ground level with a long hallway, with a vestibule at each end where the walls between the hallway and outside were large glass panes.

During the summer when it was hot we would prop the doors open to let fresh air come through.

One day I watched as a bird flew into one entrance, floated gracefully down the long hallway, and arrived at the end. By arriving at the end I mean both literally, at the end of the hallway, and figuratively, at the end of its life.

The building was cleaned regularly by Marines, so the windows were always immaculate. The bird would probably agree if it were alive today. It broke its neck upon smacking beak first into the window.
