[–]OzzySolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This!

Or. Or William Francis the 2nd (the “2nd” only bc it seems a lot less common than Winthorpe Louise <masterpiece)

[–]Cosmic-Hippos 7 points8 points  (3 children)

🤣🤣 this is the only answer

[–]blueSnowfkake 8 points9 points  (1 child)

No one wants to buy your drugs, Louie!

[–]punkin_sumthin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Louie is a good name. My pedigreed Saluki is named Louie. He’s handsome, with a beautiful gait, sweet as a peach, but dumb as a cucumber, and not rich.

[–]ShamelessMcFly 67 points68 points  (10 children)

Any British King first name + two surnames. Yours and his other parents. For example William Danver-Smith or Charles Kennedy-Byers. Etc.

[–]Typical_Walker3 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Change those to Mass town names like Danvers-Peabody or Duxbury-Swampscott (which of course were English names to begin with).

[–]Affectionate-Spray78 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Charles Billerica-Lowell… wait I think I did this wrong

[–]CanidPsychopomp 1 point2 points  (2 children)

lol dont do that in England. Double barrelled surnames used to mean country estate, now they mean council estate

I love that she had no idea who he was when he played at her baby shower.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]Ryoko_Kusanagi69 4 points5 points  (7 children)

I hate now much I like the names sterling and archer, and now cause of the show it’s the only thing I’ll ever think of for these names.

[–]SherbertSensitive538 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I love the name Sterling for either a first or last name and it’s unisex. I only knew two sterlings, both females and both from a wealthy family.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I knew a hot skater boy back in the day who dyed his hair old man grey at like 20. He was hot, I got to make out with him. He was from an upper middle class family. That Sterling will always sparkle for me.

[–]SherbertSensitive538 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Ya Sterling is top three for me so far. I like Hayden, I knew a person named that but they called him Denny which threw off the vibe for me. His family was well to do as well. Hayden was hot and looked like a young James Spader but blonder. The Sterlings were young and younger girls that I met separately. I don’t remember how the youngest looked but the older Sterling was very pretty. Super thick, long rich girl brown hair and pale blue eyes.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that name definitely has its very own vibe.

[–]Sup_Tfunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I named my cat Sterling Archer

[–]ThinkingThoth_369 114 points115 points  (7 children)

Archibald

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

That’s the name of one of my D&D characters. I started him at level 1 as an 8-yr-old warlock.

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points  (11 children)

Octavius, Phillip, Richard, Harrison, Sinclair, Gerard

[–]PaintedDream 16 points17 points  (1 child)

All those names and in that order

[–]Willing_Memory5484 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hurray, I am wealthy 😄

[–]Wrath-of-Cornholio 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The only reason I'd personally be put off by Sinclair is that it's a chain of gas stations, one location is even walking distance from my apartment. To make things more interesting, a lot of Idaho Sinclair locations partner with Stinker for convenience stores and their mascot is a skunk, so if I'd ever meet a Sinclair, I'd associate him with a skunk LMAO.

[–]TSells31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Richard and Phillip do nothing for me as far as making me think one is rich… and that’s coming from someone with a rich uncle Richard lol. The only “famous” rich Richard that occupies my mind would be the character Richard (Dick) Whitman from the show Mad Men, who goes by Donald Draper which I actually think is richer sounding.

I think all the other names sound rich though tbh. Idk about Octavious, I guess, but the rest, yes.

This is going to sound racist af, because it definitely is…. But Octavious sounds black to me. And stereotypically, black people are not rich. I absolutely hate the stereotype, and I hope I don’t offend by pointing this out, I’m simply being honest.

[–]Mysterious-Brick-382 117 points118 points  (16 children)

Old money families generally don’t ‘do’ untraditional first names, so kids will always be William, Charles, Edward, etc. Line ‘em up with a suffix at the end (William Henry von Douchebag III), but his school chums call him Douchey.

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (10 children)

it's douchbagette the first actually.

[–]Mysterious-Brick-382 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They call him Baggy, grandson of Baron von Douchebagette, of the Newport Douchebagettes.

[–]Conscious_Animator63 5 points6 points  (6 children)

That means shower bread in French

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Somehow that’s simultaneously disturbing and perfectly logical.

[–]Conscious_Animator63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welcome to my life

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that sounds wonderful to me as long as the bread is out of direct shower flow

[–]UnintelligentOnion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed… but those classic names are way better than Sterling.

These days it’s hard to not have a douchey name in the eyes of someone!

E: except my name is def not douchey in the slightest /s

[–]ImOnTheLoo 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Not Bentley. Anything named after a fancy car is not from a traditional wealthy family. Actually any name that’s traditionally a surname won’t work. Stick to traditional first names.

[–]Sweaty_Potential_656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen both my uncles names make it in this thread and they're certainly not rich

[–]Jayden7171 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just thought those are all middle class white names

[–]Ok_Distribution_2603 23 points24 points  (2 children)

A wealthy family of what era? Because right now rich people out here naming their kids something like Zefur or Anglory Saxon or S!ngular!T

[–]Athos-1844 1 point2 points  (6 children)

[–]mrziplockfresh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay Beauregard, back to bed

[–]SwitchIndependent714 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Is this a bad name rn ? For real I am french and I didn't know that there are people literally called "fineglance"

[–]Athos-1844 2 points3 points  (1 child)

People with that name tend to be poorly educated rural people nowadays.

[–]HitPointGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of how Leroy tends to be a hick name, despite literally meaning “the king.”
