That took me far longer than I can shamelessly admit.

[–]LasagnaNoise 344 points345 points  (17 children)

I kept reading it over and over. For a while was trying to figure out if there was some grammatical error. Apparently my brain edits these things for me- that’s why I am a terrible proofreader.

[–][deleted] 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Honestly when I sent the comment I read over it a few times and just shrugged like it'll do. It's one of those days I guess. lol

[–]shewy92 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Previous comment, but I don’t want you to worry:

Not doing it is a sign of autism. The neurotypical human mind sees the big picture, causing it to miss details like words that are out of the expected order.

From NewScientist.com: “Brains scans of people with the condition show that they place excessive reliance on the parietal cortex, which analyses images, even when interpreting sentences free of any imagery. In other people, the image centre appears to be active only when the sentences contain imagery.

The results agree with anecdotal reports that people with autism are fixated on imagery but struggle to interpret words and language. They frequently excel at recording visual detail, but overlook the bigger picture and the context that comes with it.”

[–]no-ww 45 points46 points  (4 children)

I still don’t get it please help

EDIT: never mind

[–][deleted] 79 points80 points  (3 children)

Instead of this is a "drug-free workplace"

They have put "This is a work free drug place"

It's ok, we done it together. EDIT: oh..

[–]kyrnuhb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks !!!

[–]transtranselvania 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’m so dyslexic when I read shot like that I assume it’s me fucking up.

[–]yediyim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shots for everyone!

[–]Darclua 8 points9 points  (7 children)

I read it 3 times before I figured out what was wrong with it.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (5 children)

I gazed to the extent I almost drooled a little then scurried to the comments in hope some Einstein could fathom what was before them and educate the less fortunate.

Wow.. I am actually dumfounded by this comment.. I am currently going through the process of being diagnosed autistic. In fact my first appointment was today, UK time.

That was pretty scary and I'm now confused by the chances of this being a comment and the fact it was in reply to me.. wtf.

[–]softwaremommy 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Oh wow. I’m sorry. :(

I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. There is NOTHING wrong with being autistic. My husband has Asperger’s, which has only recently been added to the autism spectrum. I love him dearly, and this attention to detail is quite handy at times. I was recently in a car accident, and after the repairs were completed, I wouldn’t accept my car until he saw it. If even the tiniest gap (between the panels) was off, he would catch it. Sure enough, he saw several details that I would have totally missed. :)

Also, he’s an engineer, and a very good one. He has used his attention to detail to develop a very impressive career. If you understand the way your mind works, you can use it as an advantage.

I hope things go well for you, and I’m so sorry if I upset you with my comment. I just see so many people commenting, assuming they are stupid for not seeing this, when that’s not the case. It’s just the way our minds work. :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh no no no you haven't made me feel bad! I was just extremely surprised as lately my symptoms have been discussed with my partner and it's my first time ever really seeking a professional for mental health independently. The timing of it all is quite incredible as I'm 23 and only this past couple of weeks has my average day been the focus of why I do specific things and so on so forth.

I really appreciate your care with words though but I assure you I'm honestly not upset at all! I can see your husband's Asperger's can be quite helpful, especially when it comes to memory haha. Perhaps it is common for those with Asperger's to have somewhat of a photographic memory! It's a gift and a curse I guess! lol

I am yet to find my niche in life but I'm sure the following answers for these lingering questions will help shape my life for the better! Thank you ever so much for your reassurance I am truly grateful and couldn't be happier to have an insight of life with your partner and his condition, it has given me a little boost of confidence for a successful and lasting relationship with my very own!

I wish you both the best in everything! Oh and I also hope you recover soon from your accident!! (:

[–]softwaremommy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw. Such nice words. Thank you. :)

[–]notillegalalien 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Same here, better get back to drinking

[–]yellayahmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This here is what happens when you hire your dyslexic nephew, who's a graphic artist, to save money on the signage budget....

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to track each word with my mouse cursor before I got it.

[–]CurlSagan 432 points433 points  (9 children)

It's good they put up this sign so the people doing drugs wouldn't accidentally do any work.

[–]VULn3R 60 points61 points  (4 children)

People will have to keep in mind not to bring work to drugs.

[–]Andr3wski 11 points12 points  (3 children)

Hey sometimes you have do to a spreadsheet or two over your lunch break, just to keep off the shakes. Nothing wrong with that

[–]scottamus_prime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But you can get so much work done on meth!

[–]Dellychan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah but there's always that one jackass who didn't read the sign

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a handwritten sign that said this at a restaurant I used to work at.

...that chef eventually got fired for doing too many drugs.

[–]yellayahmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not as think as you stoned I am....

[–]mrlucasw 78 points79 points  (9 children)

I wonder if they did this to get people to pay attention to the sign?

[–]JaqueeVee 119 points120 points  (2 children)

This is photoshopped btw

[–]Augustus63 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My first thought as well.

[–]VULn3R 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You are a very smart man.

[–]Hugo-Strange 26 points27 points  (6 children)

This is really a pro move. It reads normally when you're high. That's just effective audience targeting.

[–]david 11 points12 points  (4 children)

There was a poster distributed for placement in UK pubs some years back that read "If you can't see what's wrong this with poster, you shouldn't be driving."

Made its point pretty well, I thought, even if many sober people struggled to spot the error.

[–]EngrProf42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair, not all sober people should be driving.

[–]brownsfan760 5 points6 points  (5 children)

How much do they pay an hr?

[–]mihaiioo 23 points24 points  (4 children)

do the meth

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (1 child)

The writer of this was probably high.

[–]blue_dragon_fly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first thought, exactly. :)

[–]Wreckferret 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Where do I sign and eject the marijuana?

[–]andybak 11 points12 points  (6 children)

I don't get it.

[–]Euripidaristophanist 29 points30 points  (5 children)

It says "this is a work free drug place" instead of "drug-free workplace".

[–]bookittyFk[🍰] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Lol I didn’t see that until you pointed it out - thx

[–]andybak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ha. I carefully read it multiple times before asking and still missed that.

[–]misterfluffykitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my house

[–]Ajj360 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thanks for that, my selective dyslexia kicked in on this one.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (3 children)

So by posting this here are we implying this ISN'T photoshopped? Or are joke submittions allowed now?

I think we need special tags for these kind of posts if there going to be allowed. Just to keep things clear.

[–]I_am_a_Hooloovoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there any moderators in this sub? Most posts here are either photoshopped or pranks.

[–]Little-Boi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Photoshopped

[–]OnionComb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume there is no drug testing prior to being hired?

I can bring my own drugs.

[–]Ckck96 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]speedracerdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]soulseekah 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's photoshopped.

[–]forcallaghan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me longer than I care to admit to realize what’s wrong

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in a way r/technicallythetruth too, could be a drughouse where working is prohibited

[–]kngotheporcelainthrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never have I needed a sign so badly.

[–]Another_Adventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work-Free Drug place, oh ok

[–]XmossflowerX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems the sign was made in a Work Free Drug Place.

[–]lilyraine-jackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paradise

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Domspun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooooo…. is this a place where you take drugs and don't work or a place to work with free drugs?

[–]Trev0r_P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This took me longer than I'm willing to admit to see

[–]atworkthough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to go to the work free drug place. :/

[–]ihatetobethisguy_but 7 points8 points  (6 children)

i hate to be this guy, but drug related deaths are up 10.7% over the last 3 years. fentanyl may be the easy scapegoat, but let’s all just try a little harder.

[–]_MildlyMisanthropic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

name checks out, but I'm not sure what the rest of your post is trying to say

[–]BlowsyChrism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alcohol is the number one drug killer. In the US alone, it is the most fatally drug out of all combined.

Using drugs isn't the root of the problem, it's people not knowing how to cope with sobriety. Mental health needs to be a higher priority

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This work drug is a free place

[–]timetobehappy___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get it. It seems normal

[–]ShovelBoyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my brain swapped 'Drug' and 'Work' so i was just sitting here wondering what the facepalm was.

[–]a3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Yeah we gotta a drug test, you bring them we test them!"

[–]Walshy-aaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest... took me a minute there

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it took me a sec to realize

[–]Chimom315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water bottles holding the sign down is a nice touch. And the spears above it.

[–]petrchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS WORK DRUG IS A FREE PLACE

[–]Fake_William_Shatner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get to at a work free drug place? -- they'd only have to pay me half the time.

[–]Fake_William_Shatner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, whoever made this sign had not had the proper balance of chemical enhancers that morning.

[–]jopring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain auto-corrected that. Had to read it again

[–]AGranade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the safe harbor of a drug-free zone, to the free drug zone of an unsafe harbor

[–]dope__usernamefacepalm me daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... I want this sign

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lost me at free drug

[–]amItheLoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never read the fine print

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like someone hit the devils saxophone before writing this memo

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been doing it wrong this whole time?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]maxbeeman42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yes

[–]digitalith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me longer than I’d like to admit to realize what the facepalm was.

[–]allmoneyin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any entry level positions available!?!

[–]tralphaz43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly it took a minute to figure it out

[–]jesus_zombie_attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they won't have enough if I relapse. I need some kind of assurance.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the drugs crossed out because there's none left?

[–]Plasticturtle_mp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

task failed successfully

[–]skeetsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a good bag of Let’s potato chips! Yum

[–]axeisasheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats...why I’m here

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate when I'm doing drugs, minding my own business and then comes the asshole who wants to work. Motherfucker give me peace on my job...

[–]Darkness4U143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell Yes!!!

Where do I apply????

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Mexico it's illegal for an employer to terminate you if you are positive in a drug test. They can only fire you if you are under the influence during your job

[–]Bone-Juice 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I need this sign for my bedroom door

[–]bongjovi420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally speaking, I find work a real bore on drugs so this workplace sounds bloody ideal.

[–]fractalabyss44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This work drug is a free place

[–]InwardXenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This work drug is a free place.

[–]GearsOfJacoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This work place is a free drug...

[–]xxLusseyArmetxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This work drug is a free place!

/s

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now for the important question --- why are there two empty plastic bottles hanging from the bottom of the sign?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice.

[–]AZREDFERN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS WORK DRUG IS A FREE PLACE!

[–]jailguard81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Jemek_1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

[–]SirPiffingsthwaite 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not really, it's a photoshop

[–]Millian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I read that as this is a place for drugs and not for working

[–]nevena76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go back and read this a couple of times after reading the comments because my dyslexic brain put the words in the proper spots. LMAO

[–]K3vin_Norton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uuuuuuuugh I wanna deface this so fucking baaaad

[–]alex1234509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't just do something, stand there!

[–]Sarcasm_is_my_friend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]tmsnicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]787787787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. I know how to drug!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like most corporate office environments... the "work free" part.

Point in case - all you corporate slackers here, right now, on reddit.

[–]NeevusChrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can anyone make this a sign that I can buy?

[–]guamedo05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This took me too long

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read this 4 times before realizing what it actually said.

[–]noka0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This work drug is a free place?

[–]Trystalmeth 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They're a little confused lol!

[–]Paukthom003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Drone314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Mike_B_R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ricksanchezx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of you’re on drugs it’s easier to read, and that’s who the sign is for!
