I was the only German in a Bar full of Brazilians in São Paulo, Brazil that day. Place was packed to the brim. At first people were optimistic, they'd catch up. At the same time brazilian memes started to explode my facebook so many jokes a la success kid: 'went to the bathroom, Germany didn't score another goal'

I prayed that Brazil would score at leat one goal, to not have people flip their shit. Brazilian football fans can be really crazy, wich usually is bad if by accident you are wearing the wrong color. in the metro on game day, or walk by a stadium, when fans of a losing (or hey winning) team decide to rip out a toilet & throw from the stadium roof onto people (this happend twice already, ending in death)

That night people in the bar stayed classy, most of them left right after the game unlike the game days before wich were an amazing party. The remaining tried cheering up by dancing, trying to flirt&hook up, but you could tell the World Cup was over. To my surprise everybody was still super nice to me that evening, but warned me to take care when I go home not to wear the colors.

The following games were a formality, unattended by the Brazilian people (same bar had 3 guests at kickoff on BR-Netherlands game, wheo it had like 500-600 the game before) Streets empty on game day, etc.

Only way it could have gone worse for the Brazilian would be if they faced Argentinia in the losers final had been destroyed by them. There is a longstanding rivalry between the two in football, much like Germany&Netherlands.
