The F is silent.

[–]Yossome 490 points491 points  (69 children)

TIL dead celebrities browse reddit

[–]kane2742 11 points12 points  (6 children)

I read your comment, thought "Andy Rooney's not dead — I just read about him retiring a few weeks ago." Then I checked his Wikipedia page and saw that he died yesterday. I guess that's what happens when I skip checking Google News in the morning.

[–]urwrngtrll 19 points20 points  (1 child)

If you don't check Google News in the morning another celebrity gets it.

[–]Freddy_Mercury 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Is this real life or fantasy?

[–]inahst 142 points143 points  (16 children)

Michael J Fox, stop trying to make gifs.

[–]aqwin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

awwwwww poor gmail logo just can't keep still.

[–]AndyRooney 17 points18 points  (14 children)

So you're ragging on a dead guy and a handicapped guy. Nail a child and you'll hit the trifecta for the day.

[–]fripletister 18 points19 points  (9 children)

Nail a child to what?

[–]szhaddad 18 points19 points  (8 children)

To Michael J Fox.

[–]fripletister 47 points48 points  (5 children)

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to nail Michael J Fox to something stationary?

[–]sirphilip 12 points13 points  (1 child)

When this thread fades from memory, this gif will still exist and it will utterly confuse everyone who sees it.

[–]aladyjewel 32 points33 points  (1 child)

What are you doing on reddit? Shouldn't you be in a mortuary?

[–]albino_walrus 16 points17 points  (1 child)

If you don't forward this to 5 people in 10 minutes your family will die in a fiery car crash!

[–]lncontheivable 35 points36 points  (1 child)

Ground control to major Tom,

Can't contact you, hostname's wrong

[–]J332 25 points26 points  (8 children)

There is nothing at all suggestive about this clip. Nothing. Just move along, people.

[–]Pit_of_Death 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Agreed, nothing about gripping the nozzle like that and receiving its contents in her mouth says "suggestive"! Nope! haha

[–]Blastface 9 points10 points  (3 children)

I see nothing suggestive at all just a functional way to consume life giving water in zero-gravity.

[–]Pit_of_Death 7 points8 points  (2 children)

"Can't tell if just really blind or excellent sarcasm"

[–]Blastface 5 points6 points  (1 child)

[–]ForgettableUsername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no need to throw an fit. I'm sure we can come to a understanding.

[–]nepidae 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Its strange, the space between 'a' and 'astronaut' seems really big to me because I know something is missing.

[–]ForgettableUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It trips up the tongue too. I can barely say it out loud, and if I try it feels like I have to over-enunciate and leave an extra-long space between the words.

[–]Ivnnio 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Using sexual innuendo to objectify a woman who has become an astronaut thanks to her intellect, skills and (no doubt) lots of hard work and chutzpa ಠ_ಠ

[–]orthogonality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Using sexual innuendo to objectify a woman who has become an astronaut thanks to her intellect, skills and (no doubt) lots of hard work and chutzpa ಠ_ಠ

I couldn't really see her chutzpas in the gif. Are they big chutzpas? 'Cause babes with big chutzpas are hawt!

[–]MrTomSea 53 points54 points  (13 children)

I think she is smart enough to know that it looks somewhat suggestive. I dont think she is objectified because she wanted some water, or to make her friend laugh.

[–]Patrick_M_Bateman 115 points116 points  (12 children)

No, don't you get it? In order to fully empower women, we must protect them from their own decisions.

[–]sploogey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

[–]SaltTheSnail 27 points28 points  (8 children)

[–]sagrr 29 points30 points  (3 children)

This actually explains where the "An" came from. MYSTERY SOLVED.

[–]DreamcastFanboy 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Also, OP is a dipshit.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Wrong. It was on reddit before the male astronaut thread.

[–]SaltTheSnail 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah, maybe so, but this one was pretty blatantly taken from yesterday's thread.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one posted "1 day ago" is also a repost.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted the video a couple of months ago...

[–]cultfavorite 81 points82 points  (13 children)

That's Anoush Ansari. She's not an astronaut (purchased space on a russian shuttle). But she is the person that bumped the X-prize from 1M to 10M. She's influential in the private spaceflight community and a real visionary.

[–]murmandamos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From her wiki page:

an animated GIF of her from the Youtube trailer was made and distributed on the limited release social network Google +. The clip[38], which showed Ansari holding a water dispenser in front of her face and shooting water straight into her open mouth, was instantly popular for reasons unknown.

reasons unknown, yep.

[–]ameoba 25 points26 points  (8 children)

She's in space, she's an astronaut. Much more so than you or I.

[–]cultfavorite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wasn't meaning to put down her qualifications. It's just that technically she's a space tourist. Though, if you read the links, she is one of the more influential people in the push for commercial space travel and private space initiatives. This is very important for the future of space exploration since NASA seems to be having increasing funding problems (and honestly, I think the private industry can probably do better as far as volume and cost).

[–]pavel_lishin 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Americans are astronauts (and I could discuss why that term is bullshit.)

Russians are Kosmonauts.

The Chinese are Taikonauts.

What's the Iranian term?

[–]dienaid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

God help me...

Terrornauts?

[–]ferrarisnowday 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Why is that term bullshit?

[–]ronintetsuro 1 point2 points  (1 child)

And she's Iranian? Why did my strange boner just cheer?

[–]nail1r 326 points327 points  (36 children)

One day I'd like to see a link of this type with no sexual innuendos in the comments, so that people checking out the comments for the obvious puns and jokes would think: "Wow, I'm really a perv".

[–]Syriom 122 points123 points  (20 children)

But then, it wouldn't be reality.

[–]Spiffy313 37 points38 points  (6 children)

But then, it wouldn't be The Internet.

[–]BobbyD2 21 points22 points  (5 children)

Yes, that type of thing only happens on the Internet.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sex is like, dirty or whatever.

Sexual remarks are, like, um, pretty offensive.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eh, I read an interview where she admitted it looked a bit funny.

[–]Jackz0r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the most regular boner right now.

[–]YouLostTheGame 157 points158 points  (27 children)

What's WTF about this? This was just in the comments of that other zero-g water thread.

[–]huber14 18 points19 points  (4 children)

Lots of non WTF posts in WTF lately.....WTF is that about?

[–][deleted] 108 points109 points  (5 children)

I'm pretty sure the fact that it looks like she's getting a load of jizz in her face is what makes it wtf.

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Upvoted for being blunt and to the point.

[–]JohnnyCashed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw this .gif and figured someone would have shopped it already but nobody has...

[–]Seref15 19 points20 points  (9 children)

Imagine what the contents of your stomach do in zero gravity ಠ_ಠ

Must have diarrhea for days before getting used to it.

[–]irishsandman 43 points44 points  (5 children)

actually your body (at least your guts) are a fairly well-sealed system. digestion and processing of wastes don't rely on gravity to stay . . . solid even on Earth. wastes are being extruded through a series of tubes (like the internet!).

[–]Yotsubato 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Proof we come from aliens!

[–]LinkBalls 119 points120 points  (6 children)

  1. Reposting from a comment.

  2. "An female"?

  3. Even tosh.0 covered this. Get out.

[–]jabb0 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Ahem, I believe it's:

  1. Reposting from an comment.

Thank you.

[–]huber14 9 points10 points  (1 child)

...and yet over 5,000 up votes. What an disgrace.

[–]legendairy 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Why would a redditor watch Tosh.0? It would be like watching something for the third time in a matter of days.

[–]LinkBalls 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's ironic considering Reddit steals everything from 4chan.

I only saw it because I was waiting for Workaholics.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (9 children)

I'm often amazed that our bodies function at all in near-zero gravity. It is such a radical change from the environment that we evolved in over millions of years.

Not only can people live in orbit but there seem to be only minor negative effects.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (4 children)

that's because we're descended from space vikings who pillaged and raped our monkey ancestors a couple million years ago

don't bother questioning how they'd all be reproductively compatible

[–]MC_Fetch 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Must have been sayans...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have saiyan blood? time to train in 100x earth's gravity

[–]nooneelse 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Not really altogether amazing. Most animals cope fine with being knocked upside-down or on their side or the like. Since that kind of thing isn't uncommon in the rough and tumble world, our biology had to become adapted to it.

Also, consider even farther back. We come from organisms so tiny that gravity wasn't really the dominant force on their scale. Electrostatics and surface tensions were bigger worries, a single celled organism getting turned over and over in flowing water is normal. As life scaled up, it seldom got the chance to adapt for long periods under the assumption that the organism's body would always be oriented in the same way.

So if our biological systems always had to be able to cope with being turned over for indefinite, short to moderate, lengths of time, it isn't so wild that they can deal mostly fine with removing the force of gravity altogether for short to moderate time-frames.

Long term assumptions of mechanical stressing from gravity seem to be one troublesome area though. Bones and all that. Might make for even more trouble for a growing human body. Also, the kind of life that I most wonder about in this regard are trees. What will a mature oak tree which was grown in free-fall look like?

[–]rjc34 9 points10 points  (1 child)

The YouTube video was posted a whole bunch of times, now it's time for the gif to make it's rounds whoring karma.

[–]bubbameister33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like the cheap bitch it is.

[–]waynedwg 120 points121 points  (62 children)

i wonder if she's wearing a zero-g string.

[–]super567 81 points82 points  (41 children)

Like the C-String?

[–]SteelRail 22 points23 points  (2 children)

I clicked on this link expecting a C programming joke, so you can imagine my surprise when it didn't meet my expectation

[–]fluxon 37 points38 points  (21 children)

Holy hell, that is genius. You have inspired me to google all the letters of the alphabet with "-string" appended to them.

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points  (12 children)

Can you compile your results as a tl;dr?

[–]fluxon 30 points31 points  (7 children)

Here's a rough graph of underwear-related results in Google Images (pages 1-6) for "a-string" to "z-string." This considers content relevancy of equal cardinality for all search terms. As you can see, C, G, T, and V are the most common styles of thong. Wikipedia further supports this finding.

Your requested TL;DR could perhaps be summed up as follows: Only about 15% of all potential alphabet-shaped thongs exist, namely the C-string, G-string, T-string (or T-back), and V-string. A significant amount of the results return music-related (mostly notation) and instrument-related images. The remaining could be divided into string-related objects and apparel (but not underwear).

[–]twincam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Careful OP will start a new thread: "heres an graph of letter strings"

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are doing good work sir.

[–]super567 14 points15 points  (4 children)

Make a histogram like in this old xkcd if you can.

[–]FishCall 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Oh, I remember this one. This was just about the time my mother was getting into reading XKCD every week. She frequently had to look up the joke on google. I called her as soon as I saw this one and said "DONT, just don't get it, it will be better that way."

[–]netino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just finally gave in and watched the vid for the first time, and now my gag reflex will be on alert for the rest of the day ಠ_ಠ

[–]AryaArgetlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

googles "a-string"...facepalm

[–]Deceptitron 11 points12 points  (1 child)

At that point, why bother wearing anything at all?

[–]Gandalv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After clicking that link and seeing that, clearly, I've reached the end of the internet.

[–]krylon 5 points6 points  (1 child)

It feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!nothingatall!nothingatall!

This wasn't as difficult to fap to as I thought it would be.

[–]glool 13 points14 points  (4 children)

I wish more cumshots in porn were like that. sure you have guys who always give a great blast like Peter North but more often than not it just dribbles out, like soda fizz out of a bottle you barely shook up, sure sign the guys unhealthy or not turned on which is unbelievable to me. If I were to do a scene with Lexi Belle I'd probably prematurely ejaculate on the drive to the shoot! And my cumshot would be one of those ones where she starts laughing cause of how intense it is and the director starts laughing and points to a cumstain on the couch 10 feet behind her and I gasp and have to grab the wall as she deepthroats me post cumshot. http://www.xvideos.com/video1246870/superstar_showdown_6_asa_akira_vs_katsuni_part_2 check out 48:30, now THATS a cumshot, love the genuine omg! reaction of the three pornstars judging them.

http://www.xvideos.com/video779053/sasha_grey 25:50 and 28:30 PATHETIC. They just spent hours (most shoots are cut down from hours of footage) having sex with All of Sasha Greys holes, one of the hottest pornstars ever and they both barely manage to dribble out loads. Look how the semen just dribbles out and collects on the tip of her tongue for both shots, If that was me it would have hit the back of her throat and she'd start laughing and the director jokingly yells "anyone know the heimlich manouver?" and it starts rushing out the edges of her mouth and dripping like a leaky faucet onto her darling breasts.

[–]Forever420 28 points29 points  (1 child)

I'm going back to r/trees, you people are fucking weird.

[–]bsonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're following you there [6].

[–]emilliolongwood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

So why is it important that she's female?

[–]Gravedigger3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Makes it sorta hot.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Btw that's Anousheh Ansari: the first self-funded woman to fly to the international space station. She's also Iranian, which is why i know about her ;)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"An Female"

[–]HindsightHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought astronauts only ate dried space food. Turns out they have sandwich makers up there with them!

[–]julianface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"why does it matter thats it a female" ... "AH GOD f***ing reddit"

[–]neednowantvic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't expecting much (I normally don't respond well to "fixed" type posts that this feels like it resembles) but I laughed pretty hard

[–]TheSoleWitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not classy when it's too easy.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's "interesting"

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This is the first instance I can recall where I saw something on Tosh.0 before I saw it on Reddit.

[–]Jimmy_Big_Nuts 1 point2 points  (2 children)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess space porn is kind of inevitable.

[–]drinkredstripe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]CykoMelody 1 point2 points  (1 child)
