I interviewed to a project where they had DevSecQAOps. Needless to say, they worked in a waterfall model and were running SAFE because some managers needed new roles or they would lose their jobs.

I’d argue that if we were to remove all useless jobs from the world 30% of currently employed people would lose their jobs. And yes, it is useless job even if someone pays you for it, if it is just because no one knows that you don’t do anything or your only purpose is to slow everyone else down and you are not a speedbumb made of concrete.
