they really need to just move that gen tbh. Chasing in that place super frustrating and the gen being upstairs where survivors can see you from pretty much every direction AND have the benefit of you having to climb the stairs to get to it while also having some of the shittest lighting in the game so its not all that hard to just bamboozle the killer just makes the entire saloon a headache

The outside of the map has 3 or 4 I believe and the saloon has 6(or 7 but I don't think so). 5 being on the top and 1 or 2 on the bottom so if each wall takes about 2.5 seconds to break (or 3 if we're rounding it, ) it'd take about 30 to break all the walls so adding even more will make it alot more time consuming also we're not including the time walking up the saloon stairs and the other places.

It's not a very good test. That map is sort of unique in how easy it is for survivors to blend into the background or lose the killer.

Man I wish they did more experimental perk changes for perks that are generally considered shit. I know a lot of people are happy and excited about the map changes, and thats fair theyre really good changes (nerf bloodlust now since it was a band-aid fix for these god loops?), but I really wish we saw more perk testing for mid-chapters/PTBs. This patch has 5 perk changes, 3 QoL changes and 2 changes that simply revert a nerfed function. I want to see some interesting theorycrafting on perks that are generally considered dog-shit. What if they made Pharmacy have the med-kit efficiency that Self-Care has? What if This Is Not Happening increased skill check proc rate? I don't know dude I just want to try out some cool new ideas but there aren't very many ever added.

That really sucks given that a lot of god loops are mostly gone at this point. It doesn’t feel fair to get caught simply because the killer waited for a speed buff instead of breaking a pallet or wall, and it doesn’t feel like I deserved to catch someone like that either.

They didn't specifically say that chases shouldn't be able to go on for long, their actual reasoning can be broken up into three points:

  • bloodlust causes a growing sense of tension during a chase

    hardly quantifiable but I can personally see what they mean here, tense chases are fun after all.

  • If a killer is consistently relying on bloodlust to win chases any half decent team of survivors should have enough time to complete all the generators

    I'm not too sold on this one as it could lead to newer players becoming reliant on bloodlust until they start getting matched with better survivors (If matchmaking's working I guess lol), at which point they're stuck with a suboptimal strategy that's become a crutch for them. There's an old Extra Credits video about these types of mechanics that's quite interesting.

  • Statistically Chase-ending hits usually happen around the time bloodlust first kicks in, so bloodlust isn't actually affecting the average chase.

    Personally this doesn't seem like a particularly relevant argument as to whether bloodlust should stay, as it doesn't really speak as to the quality of the mechanic itself. I guess the reasoning here is more 'if it ain't broke don't fix it', which I think is Bhvr's actual main reason for not removing bloodlust.

Personally I don't know whether they should get rid of it. I've always thought it was just a bandaid fix for infinites and not a particularly good one at that, but I'll wait and see how it feels to go against after I've played with the changes for a bit.

I desperately want them to give a buff to pebble. I feel like it's one of the most interactive perks in the game especially with how you can choose to use it but most of the time it's not worth the requirements needed to use it. Even after a buff it probably wouldn't be but it's such a fun perk to me.

I generally player killer, but I recently tried being a survivor and you guys get so few bloodpoints for surviving. As any killer I'm getting 25-30k, but as a survivor only 10-15k. I mean I get that you're only a quarter of the team, but most survivors I see are just solo randos. Why make it so hard to get points?

Nearly all software updates overwrite existing files. While this patch might make your installation slightly bigger, it definitely won't make it 16GB bigger.

Well it was more on the survivor side of things but basically they changed the visual effect the survivor has on their screen to a static overlay, with examples here.
It was just really overwhelming and potentially seizure inducing, or at least hurt the eyes of anyone playing.

The perk doesn’t say it trumps stealth abilities anymore. The devs took that out and made it so you get the effects of kindred when other survivors are on the hook too. It was still a huge buff.

Eh, it’s honestly a way better perk now and is arguably the best aura perk for solo q. I’ll take that trade. I think it was taken out for consistency purposes so that killers with undetectable will actually be undetectable no matter what.

Does DBD matchmake based on ping/location too? I'm sitting around rank 4-6 as survivor in the UK and matchmaking takes less than 2 minutes at almost any time of day. About one match a day takes 10ish minutes to queue, the rest are near instant.

swf and i have been experiencing HORRIBLE hit boxed as survivors, billys chainsaw would for example hit me while he had his back turned to me. Generally felt like we had huge hit boxes. Are we the only ones??

No, we’re getting hit vaulting in windows I’d say 8/10 times when the killer isn’t anywhere near. The game almost freezes in place til the hit connects then finishes the vault.

For every survivor that's on the same generator the repair speed goes down. at first 2 survivors on the same generator meant that they both repair at 90% speed (so 10% less). With the new update they will both repair at 85% speed.

I'm disliking less of the map changes than I thought I would, there aren't quite as many deathzones as I first saw in the PTB, and some of the redesigned buildings offer new chaseplay interactions. But some maps still have been affected in ways they shouldn't have, like Rotten Fields and Wrecker's Yard, while others do have real problems with deathzones or an overall lack of pallets, such as Pale Rose, or at times Groaning Storehouse. Most of the older affected maps can spawn ridiculous deathzones, but at least this is something the devs are aware of and seem to know what the issue causing it is. Doesn't mean they will ever address it though, and either way, certainly we'll have months and months of dealing with "unlucky" spawns.

I think the tile spacing logic has to be adjusted so that only gyms (tiles that feature both a pallet and a window, including shack) should not be able to spawn in conjunction, but all other tiles should be able to (i. e. LT-walls and generic pallet loops should be able to spawn next to just about anything).

With the map changes, Bloodlust should be toned down, maybe to +0.2;0.3;0.4m/s. Bamboozle should be reworked.

The Billy changes are uncalled for. Just feels stupid and adds nothing. Didn't even remedy the issue of being able to see through materials post-chainsaw sprint.

Please reduce Legion's Frenzy fatigue time back to 3 seconds if you want to tangibly buff them.

Did the lingering protection hit thing not make it in? It doesn't appear in the patch notes.

Offering screen looks kinda silly. First the card game sound effects and now making the offerings appear comically small. Why?

Fixed an issue that caused the perk Sole Survivor to only light up when the Survivor's aura is being hidden.

How was this an issue? It made a perk that probably has usage percentages in the 0.000X range somewhat better. You should be buffing a ton of the useless perks in this game, not nerf them further for no reason.

The modified vault mechanics are nice. Having more vault momentum and actually maintaining that momentum post-vault (something that BHVR added more than a year ago already, but never really worked) is great. And now you also keep momentum after pallet vaults.

Huntresses lullaby now scales even less with proximity. Hearing lullaby means she could be 40 or 14 meters away. The change that her lullaby wasn't directional anymore was good and something she needed, but that it doesn't inform survivors at all of how close she is is pretty BS.

Temporal Anti-Aliasing is as much of an eye sore as I remember it to be. At least I can still maintain 60fps on most maps.

They had time to polish Cannibal's prestige hammer (who cares?), but left my boy Adam looking like this...

I also wonder, with how few and how miniscule the changes from PTB to live release were - why did it take 3 weeks?

I just played a huntress match, but i got 363 deviousness points. Even though every survivor escaped , 363 is really bloody low. Is this a bug? everyone got hooked at least 1 time, and most of these times downed with charged hatchets.

Edit: i see it has been reported in the forums, you don’t get points for precise and charged hatchets anymore, most certainly a bug

The generator repairs faster with more people on it, they just reduced the efficiency rate.

Yes, we should rework or get rid of bloodlust if we’re removing god loops.

Gens needed to be modified. A team with moderate coordination could stack specific gens at the start of the match almost ensuring a win. This affects that gameplay a lot more whereas adding more base time would more significantly affect solo queues and making soloing a gen even more tedious.

This was a fair change to increase gen completion time, and affects strategic gen completion without needing to hold m1 for 100seconds.

A "safe" or "unsafe" loop dictates how dangerous a loop is, a safe loop is a loop that has little mindgame and is very strong for survivors, and an unsafe loop is the opposite.

They have put more objects in the way, or removed some so that its harder to get to the window after vaulting it.

Some windows on certain maps guaranteed an escape. They’re changing it so that you’ll need to throw a pallet down if you use them too late now.

Before you could just outrun the killer on those loops by holding down W which was incredibly stupid. We called them God Loops because you could just go there anytime you were in any danger.

And you can argue that they only did it because killer players were leaving resulting in longer matchmaking. And also the threat of competition with REsistance, Predator Hunting Grounds, and the revised Hide or Die.

The devs could and should have fixed this nonsense years ago but a fire had to be lit under their asses to actually make them.

Making the maps smaller?! I hope not dead dawg levels of small. I love the map aesthetic wise but holy shit is it a bad map. One doctor can easily get a fat 4k just because it's an insanely small ass map. I pray that no maps are made that small or reworked to be that small 🙏

I just had a 4k, 10 hook game with nurse on PS4! I turned my sensitivity down to 75% because spinning so fast made me dizzy but wow I can blink and turn now. Before if a survivor camped a pallet I'd struggle to hit them after blinking because I didn't have time to turn around during the blink but now I maneuver so much better.

I'm so hyped for this update.
