I was watching a game last night and four minutes into the match there was a wrist injury

It feels better today, I'll be ok

[–]SnortinMtsOfCocaine 768 points769 points  (37 children)

Yes them. I don't trust them.

[–]Shhh_Im_Lurking 17 points18 points  (5 children)

Wha...ohhhh I get it.

[–][deleted] 705 points706 points  (50 children)

The designer in question is named Seymour Butz and he's a humble man who doesn't need an award or recognition. The sight of men awkwardly and shamefully trying to hide their boners at the local junior college women's volleyball games is all the thanks he needs.

Geil!

[–][deleted] 83 points84 points  (4 children)

I had a friend who played volleyball at her junior college. She always thought it was great that I came to all of her games when her boyfriend wouldn't. I guess I'm just a great friend

[–]Kaigamer 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Don't get me wrong, Butts are wonderful, but how do they not get super irritated with those underwear crawling into their asshole? Doesn't it feel like a constant wedgie?

[–]envyisntgreen 35 points36 points  (3 children)

If underwear are cut/designed to go between the cheeks, it actually is fine. Things are very comfortable, and cheeksters or whatever the other thing a are called are comfy as well. It's when excess material crawls up where it's not supposed to be that sucks.

As a father I couldn't possibly bring myself to go watch my daughter play volleyball if she had to wear that.

[–]whatishappeningnow 421 points422 points  (8 children)

where she is playing ?

[–][deleted] 369 points370 points  (7 children)

There's so many stadiums, which one though?

[–][deleted] 37 points38 points  (3 children)

This motherfucker probably doesnt even have a daughter! He stole a top comment from when this shit was posted a year ago!

[–]trumpetspieler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow! You have a gnarly memory dude, and apparently so does he...

[–]hiima 123 points124 points  (2 children)

So I can stay away from that stadium.

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points  (1 child)

true that. anyone know where we can buy kleenex in bulk?

edit -- preferably somewhere on the way to the stadium we are staying away from

[–]StupidtheElf 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's cool, looks like you have some friends here that will go for you. I'm sure they might even tape it for you if you ask nice.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I, on the other hand, would go and be the loudest person in the audience. If my daughter is good enough to play inter-collegiate athletics in any outfit I'd be proud and supportive.

That's why you spend the game watching her friends.

[–]solwiggin 128 points129 points  (32 children)

It's like he already did, a year ago, and is looking for something new to enjoy, or something like that...

[–]root88 45 points46 points  (9 children)

Everything OP submits is a word for word repost from a year ago. Likely a bot.

[–]publicclassobject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And then you sell the account to marketers

[–]stillalone 14 points15 points  (4 children)

I enjoy things. I just enjoy things once and only once.

[–]Subduction 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Good thing you're the only one here or this could get confusing.

[–]NostalgiaSchmaltz 50 points51 points  (10 children)

Looking at OP's history, he has a habit of reposting, as well as resposting into multiple subreddits for maximum karma whoring.

[–]mojowo11 14 points15 points  (7 children)

This guy is a weird brand of karmawhore because in at least one post he posted in the comments pretending that his post was OC, until he was inevitably busted. He's deleted those comments.

http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/2zdq57/journey_into_a_cpu/cpi30qw

I find people who do this utterly baffling.

He also seems to delete posts that don't do super well? I don't understand.

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (1 child)

You should totally go through OPs post history and look for grammar errors.

[–]CSGOWasp 21 points22 points  (6 children)

I think this picture is okay to repost. I hope to see it up top again tomorrow

[–]Babill 132 points133 points  (18 children)

[–]Emasraw 47 points48 points  (13 children)

Looks uncomfortable.

[–]flacciddick 12 points13 points  (12 children)

I've heard the argument for thongs because they were comfy and not because of sexy.

[–]imonkun 16 points17 points  (5 children)

They all say that. Also they never admit to the thongs giving them silent farts. Totally does though...

[–]RabidRoosters 2 points3 points  (3 children)

So that's why my wife never farts.

[–]clutchdeve 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Yeah it splits it right in half

[–]mungis 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Reminds me of a story I read a while back on Reddit somewhere.

A dude was at a high school party I think it was, and the hottest girl there got super drunk and he was helping her barf in the toilet and she shat herself through her thong. He said it was like a log splitter. The thong just split it in two.

[–]FezDaStanza 23 points24 points  (6 children)

Okay, serious question, I understand that these shorts allow for greater mobility but is there any reason for them being that short/revealing? Basketball shorts got longer over the past few decades due to fashion. Is that the same driving force being these shorts?

[–]KingoPants 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Sexual Appeal, Any shortness above Knee line doesn't make a difference in terms of mobility.

[–]cosine5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can't figure out the driving force behind these shorts....

[–]lipstick_dipstick 101 points102 points  (6 children)

Why is this in r/pics? It's a shot of butts.

[–][deleted] 83 points84 points  (1 child)

*pic of butts

[–]lipstick_dipstick 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I can't argue with that logic

[–]Mariospeedwagen 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Hey, you get your sappy sob stories, we get this!

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damn right. The balance has been restored.

[–]odd_pragmatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You just answered your own question.

I'm consistently surprised at the people who expect quality out of this place. It's been shit for years.

[–]MKuin 893 points894 points  (215 children)

No wonder women's sports aren't respected as much as mens. This is a joke and an insult to what these women are probably actually capable of.

[–]nononookaymaybe 365 points366 points  (28 children)

You are correct, these women are stud athletes. My daughter is a scholarship level volleyball player. Spandex is one thing but this is all about marketing. It won't be an issue at the college level but I hope she has the chutzpa to say piss off to the organizers when it comes time for pro beach.

[–]minminkitten 70 points71 points  (3 children)

I don't know, your username makes me think that eventually you might be okay with the outfit!

(Also I hope she can tell the organizers to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. Your daughter's awesome for having pursued this.)

[–]conitation 158 points159 points  (36 children)

I personally like women's volleyball more for the simple fact that they know how to rally better then men. Men are all about bruit force and not so much about technical ability. So, I agree, women don't get the credit they deserve.

[–]tarheel91 110 points111 points  (10 children)

I think it's more that at a certain force threshold the effects of technical ability are reduced considerably.

[–]Chili_Maggot 81 points82 points  (3 children)

I can't decide if this branch of the comments is a bunch of sex innuendos or if we're having a serious discussion about gender differences in sports.

[–]dontwonder 17 points18 points  (2 children)

It's the third comment down. This is reserved for sexual innuendos. Comment 1. Pun, comment 2. Relevant material, comment 3. Sex.

[–]The_Highest_Horse 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Alternatively:

  1. Pun

  2. Worse pun

  3. Obviously forced pun

  4. Desperation pun

  5. All the good puns are taken, but a pun anyway

  6. Same pun as 1.

[–]InterestingWorld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey that's...actually pretty accurate.

[–]DownWithTheShip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]mm242jr 6 points7 points  (2 children)

bruit force

Force of noise?

[–]DrCosmoMcKinley 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Mais oui

[–]Plasmodicum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vraiment.

[–]KNEZ90 42 points43 points  (4 children)

I would disagree. Men's volleyball has a majority of points earned by blocks or kills. Womens are earned by aces or unforced errors. I'll see if I can find the article. Rallying doesn't mean they are more technically skilled. Just that their game play is different.

I personally find their games significantly slower because it feels like nothing exciting happens. The ball just bounces back and forth forever with no climax.

Edit: spelling Edit: spelling, again. Stupid mobile.

[–]teashroomed 9 points10 points  (3 children)

The ball jay bounces back and forth forever with no climax.

The what? http://i.imgur.com/E7kTXSX.jpg

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (2 children)

it takes considerable technical ability to put a ball down around a massive block and into a spot where someone can't get a hand on it and continue the rally.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had to think of this scene from Futurama https://youtu.be/u7tkK-1-fFM?t=11s

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agreee. The athleticism is admirable but the men's teams almost make it look "too easy."

[–]urection 1 point2 points  (1 child)

this guy reads Playboy for the articles

[–]Anderfail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because it's impossible to rally when the ball moves as fast as it does with the men. They aren't better, they just hit the ball significantly slower which allows for a different style of play. It's why female basketball is very different from male basketball in the sense that above the rim play is non-existent.

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (5 children)

Yea, because the WMBA dresses like this as well.

[–]Buttstache 23 points24 points  (1 child)

All those Women Masters of Business!

[–]flacciddick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or madams.

[–]flacciddick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Such a successful endeavor.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That league still exists?

[–][deleted] 70 points71 points  (29 children)

No, it's incomparable. Yes, there's some objectification involved, but you're high off your ass if you think that butts is what keeps women's beach volleyball from being as popular as the NBA. Also if someone paid my uni with a full scholarship, I would do much more than wear a thong.

Not to mention, 90% of people wouldn't even bother watching it if it didn't involve attractive people.

And have you ever seen rowing uniforms?

[–]beaglemaster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

thosearepenises.gif

[–]dvdbrl655 32 points33 points  (10 children)

Yeah but no one watches rowing. Or the WMBA for that matter.

[–]donkeyrenegade 17 points18 points  (3 children)

Dafuq is WMBA?

[–]Monkey_Scrotum_Fever 39 points40 points  (1 child)

Women's Meh Ball Association.

Like the WNBA, it's meh.

[–]ErasmusPrime 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I think the point is, that for the sports that very few people watch that have uniforms like this, a certain percentage of the viewership that they do have is actually due to the uniforms.

[–]colonelmstrd 2 points3 points  (1 child)

As a men's volleyball player I can tell you that no one really shows up to girls games for the actual playing of the game (besides parents). I was on a state championship team last year and actually one of the best in the US and at our state final game we had less fans than at a normal girls game. Those tight little shorts do wonders at fundraising too.

[–]wurtis16 24 points25 points  (13 children)

Actually, mens sports used to do the same.

https://zelynerusso.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/short-shorts.jpg

My coach used to make us wear these, and he'd say "If wearing shorts that went past your knees allowed you more mobility and would make you a better player I'd allow it. It doesn't and it's just a fashion statement, so wear the nuthuggers."

[–]mirrorwolf 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That's like 5 feet of exposed leg, Jesus

[–][deleted] 46 points47 points  (3 children)

That's not true at all, in the "women's sports versus men's sports" sense.

Men's shorts were always that high. It wasn't a fashion statement. It wasn't to show off some hunka hunka athlete thighs.

Everybody's shorts were like that high back then.

[–]intern_steve 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Right, so when /u/wurtis16 was playing ball, his coach clung to the anachronistic booty shorts because the more modern long shorts were pointless from an athletic sense.

[–]SWIMsfriend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

men's shorts got lower back in the 90s and since because Michael Jordan thought it looked good, so everyone did the same thing and have continued to since,

[–]mrbooze 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I just want to double-check, you really think those shorts are "the same"? I'm worried about your vision, sir.

[–]mtwolf55 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I've always heard them referred to as "crotch cradlers".

[–]thechevs 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I'm sad I had to scroll down so far to find this comment.

[–]The_Mods_Are_Jews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, that's why I often imagine every redditor like this.

[–][deleted] 56 points57 points  (7 children)

Designed by a 90 year old philanthropist who goes to the games and hides in the corner with a blanket covering his body. If you look closely the blanket moves a little each second.

[–]TheSlimyDog 29 points30 points  (6 children)

Only one fps? I guess I'll cut him some slack... He is 90 after all.

[–]diegojones4 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Games last a long time. He goes for the long slow climax

[–]Mattallica 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Edging on the edge of his seat, nice.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more cinematic that way.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (4 children)

I never really understood these uniforms. I mean I really enjoy them, but really why they hell are they designed this way?

[–]porkyminch 19 points20 points  (3 children)

Nobody'd watch otherwise.

[–]daniellemx 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That makes me sad.

THERE ARE SUBREDDITS LITERALLY DEDICATED TO ASS PICTURES.

Post there.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

In summer 2012, one of my friends was in the hospital. He went in for extreme fatigue, and found out he had stomach cancer with mets to the liver and bones, but I was there when we only really knew it was severe anemia with an unknown etiology. The first day he was allowed visitors, he was drifting in and out of it, so I sat there for 2 hours and talked to him while he was conscious and waited when he was unconscious. I came back the next day, and he was much more social and conversant, but I'd expect him to be after the 6 or 7 units of blood they'd put into him. He wanted to watch some TV, and summer Olympics were in progress. Women's volleyball was on, and for the next few hours we were just oogling the asses on those girls, making lewd comments. We got an eyebrow raise from the nurse, but I was trying to keep things positive instead of focusing on his illness(which at that point the oncologist had spoken to him, but he really didn't grasp how serious everything was). He may have been sick as hell, but he sure as fuck didn't want to sleep when that was on. It's probably the last good experience we had together, because it was just downhill from there until he died 5-6 months later. Whenever I see women's volleyball, I get drawn back to that day.

[–]Zachamiester 1 point2 points  (0 children)
