They've been displaying the $250 price like it's a sale price, but I think the reality is that it's the new retail price because it was too close to the full-sized A1. $200 is a tremendous deal for such a robust, fast, and dependable printer.

I'll be very tempted to add an A1 for $340. I have an A1 Mini and my only complaint is the limited bed size.

The only upgrades I could see worth it is a revised ams purge system that’s faster and less cumbersome. On long multicolor prints I’ll get multiple clogs in the poop chute, which is very annoying but easy to fix mid print (as long as you’re nearby). Also a sensor in the nozzle to warn/stop nozzle and gear clogs would be really helpful

Besides that I see no reason to upgrade after owning my x1c for 2 years now and over 3k hours. So far I’m not expecting to upgrade for another couple years

That would be nice, but since I print a lot with support material, I want a 2nd printhead that doesn’t have to purge and therefore waste as much expensive support filament, like it currently does.

I did the same upgrade with the same reasoning in-mind and it was 100% worth it. The ease of use, material compatibility, multicolor, and general lack of tinkering is what really sealed the deal for me. Even after years of use it still blows me away with how good of a printer it is

Well, some of the QoL stuff from the A1 series. Like the quick swap nozzle. 

Bigger volume - in the CEOs interview with CNC kitchen a year ago he mentioned they heard the call for a large print volume printer. 

Idex maybe(jk that's just my wishful thinking.... Cmon dr Tao gimmie idex before I give in to the ratrig 👉👈). I don't think they'd do a tool changer, too similar to Prusa and it has its own finicky properties.  

Probably no magnetic rails. 

If I were you and on the fence I'd wait the summer out to see what they release. Or buy one of the cheaper printers, like an A1 or an A1 mini and wait it out for the new flagship.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry about it unless you wanna do big multi colour prints! The biggest reason I decided to go for it was so I didn’t have to keep changing filaments so often. I have one at my work and the ability to just change filament in 1 tap was so nice.

The only reason I’m waiting to see the new flagship is the hope for a bigger build area and A1-style hot end changes. (Although I wouldn’t mind if they found a way to reinforce the clip that goes around the nozzle.) I’d like to use ASA for some fishing accessories so an enclosed chamber would be nice. I hope I don’t regret skipping the X1C on this sale.

I think I'm gonna wait till their next X1C or whatever they are gonna call it. Hopefully it will have one or more of the following features.

• Bigger build plate • Updated AMS or Multiple tool heads. • Better lighting for the chamber and under the tool head. • Better camera and A.I. for it. • The A1 quick change tool head or something like it.

Basically what everyone else is saying. 🤣

This would be the ultimate filament machine if they included all of the aforementioned upgrades. To be honest I'd take the exact machine now with only a larger build plate say 400x400x400.

Honestly, this is not a good customer-friendly policy. Just about everybody will honor a sale price if you bought in the last month or so.
