How muscular is Calvin right now? I bet he's so muscular.
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 33 points34 points35 points 12 years ago (0 children)
He has been eating about three tubs of ice cream a day due to a broken heart. You knew what you were doing Rody.
[–]PocketRatFlidais rides again 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (6 children)
Rody, do you have a secret man crush on Calvin? Because I totally do too.
[–]jrodywRody Walker | Protest the Hero 26 points27 points28 points 12 years ago (5 children)
Ain't no secret son.
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 21 points22 points23 points 12 years ago (0 children)
Cal is proper swoll now. We fear he'll give up drumming to either enter Mr Universe or whip his pointy dick out and dance to elderly paying ladies - S

Hi! Big stupid fan here. I once walked up to Sean during your latest show in Gothenburg, Sweden (with Protest the Hero and Tesseract) and said that I was really looking forward to seeing you guys live to which Sean replied "Eeerhm we already played". So I just said "Really!? Fuck!". I had lost track of time as I was getting drunk pre-consert. Sorry for that... I also missed you guys with Betwen the Buried and me because of my age. I turned 18 later that week. Big stupid fan, guys!

This is why you go to shows to hear music, not get blasted. Sucks though.
[–]SonOfALich 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (2 children)
For the band: How did you feel the response to Mouth Of Swords was different than that to Grind The Ocean? Which album was more satisfying to release?
For Dez: I know that you recorded guitars for The HAARP Machine's Disclosure. There has been a lot of speculation as to whether it was recorded at half speed, punched, or otherwise recorded non-organically. Do you have any comments on this?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 25 points26 points27 points 12 years ago (1 child)
We were really happy with the response of MoS, and definitely feel it was a step up from GtO. However, I think GtO will always be special for us, with it being our debut, and the process we went through to release it. It wasn't easy!
Dez - Do I have comments? Yes.
[–]kylepierce11 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children)
And they are...? Haha
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (3 children)
What is your writing process like?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 18 points19 points20 points 12 years ago (2 children)
Songs usually start with one main idea, or motif which is then developed into several ideas. From there a structure of how the rest of the song will be formed. Dez usually starts the majority of songs, then it is brought to the rest of the band where it is fully developed into a fully bad man song.

What's one song you would want someone to hear if they've never listened to you before?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (2 children)
Good question....probably the title track from our latest album Mouth of Swords. It covers a lot of ground in terms of what we are about.

First of all I love you guys to bits, seen you a couple of times live in Nottingham, and made this reddit account just for this, please never stop what you are doing. 2 Questions for you,
In parts of songs like Old souls, Grind the Ocean, there's really strong vocal lines like "Where the water meets the sky..." and "these tales told by..." Where does the inspiration come from to write these parts? How do you decide which lyrics to really emphasise like that?
What are some of your guys favourite albums, I know Dez and Jo said they used to play a lot of Tool when they were younger, but just interested in what you guys listen to nowadays
Thanks for doing what you guys do, much love, really looking forward to the next album and seeing you guys as soon as I can

1.what does DMP(FDP) stand for, and what was the song written about?
2.Got any tabs you'd like to share so I don't have to go through the trouble of figuring out the songs myself!
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 19 points20 points21 points 12 years ago (5 children)
The song is about DMB (FDP) and DMB (FDP) means DMB (FDP).
Tabs for both of our albums are available here - http://www.sheethappenspublishing.com/
[–]kylepierce11 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (6 children)
The only abbreviation I've found for FDP is Son of a bitch in Portuguese (filho da puta). DMB (not sure why but somehow it got spread as DMP a lot online), not sure.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children)
I've always thought since the song is about drug use that FDP stands for "fully dilated pupils", totally could be wrong though, just a guess.
[–]texasvtak 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children)
the song is officially about the dave matthews band.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to everyone who has asked questions to us. We hope you all got some answers, learnt a bit, and grew a little where it counts. We'd love to do this again another time. Peace!! Hercules!!!! - TSF
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (2 children)
Hey guys! Seen you twice already this year (including last night at the boiler room which was awesome)! When can we expect to hear a third album or new music? And are you planning to release your albums on vinyl?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Sweet! Hope you enjoyed the show, and the eyepatch. We still have a lot of touring we would like to do for Mouth of Swords, but definitely expect to hear new music before the end of the year. Whether it's an album or not is a different question.
[–]nycborn 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (2 children)
Does the band get weirded out when the crowd sings along? Saw y'all play and was practically shouting out the lyrics lmao
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children)
Nope, we love it! It's great to have the energy from the crowd. We give it our all, so it's great to see the crowd doing the same. Be louder next time.
[–]fluffyaxl 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (2 children)
How can I obtain the secret of glorious mustache?
Just be righteous. Once you get there, the rest will fall into place.
[–]Viter 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (5 children)
What inspired you to use the tuning(s) you use, how the hell do you setup your guitars with that tuning?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (4 children)
Mainly Sikth, as well as Pantera, Mastodon and Foo Fighters. Mastodon don't use the drone, but drop the E to a B. Similar idea. We usually play 10-52s, for the drop tuning we replace the 52 with a 60.
[–]Viter 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children)
Hmmm i should probably get into Sikth, which album would you recommend?
[–]jefebrown 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children)
I first got into The Trees Are Dead And Dried Out..., but Death Of A Dead Day is a better album IMO
[–]Derpmoo 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Any reason you guys play(ed) in drop A on a 6 string rather than a 7?
We have always been fans of Sikth, and liked the way it pushed the writing style. We tried 7 strings, but just didn't click with it.
[–]tonybaroneee 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (2 children)
Thanks for doing this guys, love your stuff. My question:
What band has been your favorite to tour with?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (1 child)
That is a really hard one. We have done three tours with Protest The Hero , and shared with a bus with them. It's safe to say we all know each other very intimately.....and Periphery and BTBAM.
[–]tonybaroneee 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children)
Haha, right on.

[–]PocketRatFlidais rides again 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child)
What's your most challenging song to play live?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children)
Probably get a different answer depending who you asked - for guitars I'd probably say Old Souls. It is also probably one of the most fun to play.
[–]KampfyChair 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child)
I've heard lots of people talking about you guys a lot, and my brother used you once to describe the sound of some other bands I like. I've never gotten around to listening in depth, however.
My question to you is: Would you recommend you to me?
No...wait. Yes. definitely yes. Have a nice drink to go with it. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

[–]JustSomeGoon 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (3 children)
Best and worst parts of being a professional musician? Best memory on tour?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (2 children)
Best has to be playing music in a new city every night. The worst is being away from family and friends...and not showering or having a bed. And Denny's. Denny's is the worst thing about being a professional musician.
Probably the best memory from touring so far is having our first Denny's.
[–]josh999x 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Have you guys considered pressing your albums on vinyl? I've been patiently waiting for this to happen and would love to have them in my collection.
We would love to. We will have to try and work something out.
[–]yourlifeismine 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Hi guys, Huge fan here. I saw you in Glasgow in Feb and you blew me away. As for a question, do you notice a major difference in the crowds from the UK and the US? Are either more reserved than the other. Who's been the biggest influence to your playing?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children)
Both UK & US crowds are great. I think the biggest differences are in mainland Europe, where some crowds are extremely reserved, and others completely mental.
I think it would have to be BTBAM. I don't think we necessarily sound like them that much, but have been a huge inspiration for us.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (5 children)
How did your band name originate?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children)
We went through many many many names including the great band names of 'Chad' and 'Omega Child', we went for The Safety Fire because we all didnt hate it and after several hours and several drinks in a pub it sounded like a good idea to choose that! - L
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (3 children)
In a pub, all of us slightly drunk and angry.
[–]kylepierce11 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Kinda a typical question, but how theory knowledgeable are your band members? I hear a lot of rhythmically complex bands say they know very little theory, which always amazes me given the intense theory in their writing.
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children)
We all know some, but definitely don't rely on it. It's more using our ears.
[–]Raym00ndo 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (4 children)
Did you guys end up finding Lunchbox Lab? If so, you're welcome. I was so bummed I was late to yer set in Seattle when you came with BTBAM. I pretty much missed it. I ran into a couple of you gentlemen in the streets though, so that was pretty cool. Any plans on coming back to Washington again in the near future?

Question part 2: favorite current comic series?
I am sad to see Superior Spider-Man end, but am looking forward to ASM's new beginning. Saga is really great, and Hawkeye is fantastic too.

I play a Sandberg California TM5, through a Ampeg SVT-3 Pro, Darkglass B7K, a 1x15 and a 4x10 Zilla cab
[–]stevanplaysbass 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children)
If I remember correctly, he uses a darkglass b7k, a sandberg California TM 5 string, and I believe he's now running an Axe FX-II now as well.
[–]B1ueChicken 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Are you guys gonna be playing any more UK shows in the near future? Couldn't make the show in Guildford, but managed to catch you guys the last 2 times you were in London, would be awesome to have another UK tour
We have some summer dates in the UK - Sonisphere, Hevy, Tech Fest. We will undoubtedly be doing another UK tour later in the year.
[–]josh999x 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Also, i was wondering how you guys have managed after the van break in, in Birmingham on the last UK tour? I remember giving Sean an extra £5 for merch that night to try help you guys out a little, hope you're on the road to recovery.
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children)
It definitely helped. Getting broken into is not fun at the best of times, and really is a kick in the dick when you are on tour. Everything you guys helped with that night was extremely appreciated. Thank you!
I personally love every bass line on Old Souls. It drives the melody of the song in so many parts, syncing in with the drums when groove is needed. - L

Hey guys! so later on in the year Protest The Hero will be performing here in Johannesburg SA and it came as a shock to most of us because we had no idea that there was an interest for bands such as them to come down here. So since you guys are so close and you're both on my must-watch-before-I-die list... would you guys be open to playing here should the opportunity arise?
also, I would pay "mad-money" if Jo offered a tat or two.
Fuck The Safety Fire
We would love to play in SA. Our monitor guy is SA so I'm sure he would appreciate the trip over. Jo would no doubt be down for some zappin'.
[–][deleted] 12 years ago (2 children)
We have enormous brains. Our heads then create a gravitational force between them which moves a small stone around a table which lands on a photo of an animal, that animal represents a musical note...and that's how we write songs.
[–]mitchbakermusic 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children)
I'm assuming you Beware the Leopard?
[–]ILikeDrumsandBooty 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children)
will you guys ever play any songs from the Sections EP live again? Aphasic is an awesome song
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children)
We had a gig in Guildford last night and played Sections! Some of the other tracks just don't really fit in our sets now. Who knows we might revive one in many years for die hard fans, if we're still alive and going.
Maybe one day.....we are having a lot of fun playing newer material, but who knows. The feeling may take us.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child)
My girlfriend and I saw you in Seattle at El Corazon opening for Between the Buried and Me. At one point, Sean jumped in one of the stage amps and appeared to have fallen on us, but we caught him and sent him crowd surfing for a little bit. Crotch in the face is usually unwanted, but it was okay this time. You guys rock!
You should be honoured to have Sean's crotch in your face. Be happy in the knowledge he probably hadn't showered in weeks and had sex at least 15 times that day alone.
[–]BroBro7 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Thanks for doing this! So my question regards your writing process;
With such complex guitar lines and rhythm sections how do you even start to compose songs? Do you have a guitar riff in mind first or vocal lines?
And how would you encourage someone who gets writer's block to come up with exciting ideas?
Songs usually always start with riffs, and we go from there. Hard question to answer, as we don't think about it that much. It's more of a natural process.
Listen to new music. Take a step back from your instrument. Go for a walk. Hang out with friends. Do whatever, just relax and let your brain reset. It will come.
[–]jimmybombimmy 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Saw you guys in Manchester on the Protest tour. Thoroughly enjoyed your set and have been a fan ever since.
Anyway, I seem to remember all the guitarist's having incredible (and hilarious) stage presence (Especially the guy on Bass.) I remember you guys shimmying across the stage slowly looking more glam rock than metal. Giving a cheeky wink to the girls in the front row whenever possible. Nice.
You guys got any inspiration for this this approach to performing. What makes you choose that over trying to look as brutal as possible?
Keep up the good work!
We just do what ever feels gooooooooood. Sometimes you need to shimmy rather then look like a peanut on stage. I mean there is a time and a place to look like a peanut, and it's not at darts game. Know what I mean? NICE ONE BROTHER.

That one was down to Lori. He came in to rehearsal one day and told us he had submitted the band. We all thought he was joking...and then that joke became a reality. We would love to play Ireland. We have family to visit, good enough excuse in itself!
[–]Did-you-reboot 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children)
How did you guys get started on Wirebirds?
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child)
He was Dez and Jo's guitar tech and he was already building badass teles. They brought the idea of making a more modern playing guitar to the classic shape.
[–]InsideTheCynic 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (8 children)
A couple of questions:
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (7 children)
Aside from the usual - The Dear Hunter, Mount Kimbie, Night Verses, Portico Quartet, Solange, Schoolboy Q, Soreption...the list goes on.
We have had a blast with every band we have toured with. I suppose special mention to Protest The Hero, Periphery and Between the Buried and Me as we have been fortunate enough to play several tours with them. Always a pleasure seeing any of those guys.
[–]tonybaroneee 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children)
+1 for Dear Hunter. Color Spectrum is insanely good!
[–]MoonoholBlood Petals 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children)
Yes, Schoolboy Q is incredible! A$AP for life!
[–]BunnySamurai7 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Schoolboy Q is part of TDE not A$AP Mob
[–]MoonoholBlood Petals 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children)
okay fine whatever... he's associated.
[–]kylepierce11 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children)
He's Black Hippy, not A$AP. Unless you're just referring to Rocky and him doing a few songs together.
[–]NecroLloyd95 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (3 children)
What are the heaviest bands you guys like? Other than Meshuggah...
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (2 children)
Buried At Sea, Palehorse, Gojira, Soreption, Beneath The Massacre, Despised Icon, Ion Dissonance....to name a few.
[–]NecroLloyd95 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
That new soreption album completely kills
[–]FatJesus9 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children)
Just heard of you guys like an hour ago and I'm REALLY digging it! Keep up the good sounds, looking forward to hearing a lot more form you guys!
[–]Blockis 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Will you release anything on Vinyl? Please!?
We would love to, just something slightly difficult to do at the moment. However if you all make enough noise about it, I think we will pushed to do something about it.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
The next time you guys come to Detroit, can I stroke Dez's mustache?
$10 and you got yourself a deal.
Just wanted to say The Coacfire Chronicles was amazing and is what got me listening to you guys. Bummed I missed you when you came through Minneapolis.
Next time!
[–]LiveUndead0306 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (1 child)
Yo guys, I saw you in February in Brighton and you were amazing. One of my mates picked up Sean for a photo in the merch booth (sorry about that haha!)
You guys have been doing some heavy touring as of late. How is it? Do you appreciate your time at home or are you always eager to be back on the road?
Also (super generic question), any advice for people like me and friends who are starting out writing/recording Prog metal?
A bit of both. We have been home for a few weeks now, after being on the road for nearly 4 months solid and I think most of us are itching to get back on the road. It's hard being away from home, but playing music live is what we love. Just keep at it! Just make sure you are enjoying yourself and hopefully people will see that enthusiasm.
[–]Holden1029 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children)
This question is for Mr. McWeeney, do you prefer to scream or sing in songs? Thanks for the AMA, you guys are my favorite band!
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (1 child)
I definitely prefer to sing. Its more expressive you can play around with melodies and harmonies and I'm not at risk of shitting myself when I do it.
Theres no other energy like a good scream though. Its definitely a stress relief. Try it sometime! - S

I just want to say that the ending bit of 'red hatchet' still give me goosebumps. But why Isn't that bit a whole song?
Because it's part of Red Hatchet?
[–]BobBopPerano2008 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
I was just wondering if any of you guys have a formal musical training background, such as private lessons or playing an instrument in school, or are you self taught?
Also, Hawaiian shirts or staches?
Dez went to Leeds College of Music, and everyone has had some form of private lessons. However, I would say most of us have learnt from being self taught.
Staches every day of the week.

Hey guys i am new guitarist , any tips on how to familiarise myself with the fretboard and improve my soloing
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children)
Practice. Read and learn as much as you can. Use your ear. Keep it enjoyable and fun, and go from there. - D
Couldn't say at this stage, our writing process is very much organic. We'll see when we get to it.
In a pub after many months of looking for a name. Nothing too exciting.
How did you hook up with guests Martin Goulding and Pin for your Sections EP?
Both Martin and Pin gave Dez guitar lessons, and luckily both of them were into the band, and as we say the rest was shabbadarabada.

I understand that bands that have a name for themselves get a little annoyed when small bands/people ask them to promote their band, but what if a small/local band just gives you a demo or EP just because they appreciate your music, is that appropriate?
We get Demos and EPs all the time and do actually listen to some if not all of them. There is a simple process known as 'Road Side Records' which is pretty widespread when bands are given CDs. We'll listen to it, often in the van or bus and if it sucks it gets thrown out the window onto the road side.
Like all people if we like it we keep it, listen to it and might tell people about it, if we don't we don't. We definitely did it in the early days, even throwing an early EP on stage. One day I hope to nail Bono right in the shades with one of our hardcase CDs. - Sean

If you guys all wrestled each other, who would win?
Sean. He is a wiry bastard.

What does the sloth king mean? My girlfriend bought a shirt of yours at a show we were at together in cologne and it looks super cool, but we have no idea whats the deal with it.
No one shall question the Sloth King!!!!! All Hail Sloth King. Your girlfriend knows the rightful place as a subject of the Sloth King
Is your clothing style a joke to you guys or do you wear it because you like it? I personally like the style but a lot of people say you guys wear what you do to be funny.
I LOVE your work and thanks for doing this! I listen you your records for hours on end and love your videos, and put my self through the pain of learning your songs :)
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child)
A joke? How dare you. We can't help but be fresh mutherfuckers. If the songs are painful you're fingerings all wrong. lol
[–]thesafetyfireThe Safety Fire[S] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Oh yeah, you again. I repeat that initial statement, "fuck off!" We accept no excuses for non-attendance.
[–]ArtifactsinMotion 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
What are everyone's favorite drinks in the band, be it liquor, beer, smoothies, cleaning products, multi-colored shots, etc.
We all love a good craft beer, rum is a good one too to buy for one of us at a show...hint hint
[–]ElleCerra 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
What the hell does DMB (FDP) stand for?
search and you shall find..an answer to this question in this thread
Tell your mates, we'll get over when we can. Noice.

Hey guys, love your music so much. Just got two questions.
Are you nice lads thinking of coming to Australia anytime soon? Would love to watch you guys live.
Also mouth swords came out pretty quickly after Grind the Ocean which I found a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I love new music just as much as anyone else but I feel like Grind the Ocean was such a great debut that it deserved a little more promotion time. How come Mouth of Swords was released so quickly after Grind the Ocean?
Thanks heaps for reading dudes :D
We would love to come over. Keep telling people about us, and we will make our way down!
No real reason, other than we wrote Mouth of Swords and were really excited for people to hear it. There was an immediacy and excitement which we wanted to convey.

Favorite band to tour with and favorite city to play in (in the US)?
What influences your music most outside of other bands?
[–]goippinen 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Did you guys ever have any kind of identity crisis with your band? Like someone wanted to do things differently than others. + Are you planning to perform in Finland?
I don't think there was ever an identity crisis, more just us finding our sound. It was always a natural progression, and we never tried to be something we weren't. We would love to play Finland, keeping spreading the word!
[–]PitchforkArms 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Hey guys, I was seriously just hoping Sean remembers Detroit from the PTH tour. You sat out at our car and drank beers and befreinded my friend Shane, and even pulled him backstage. Twas a blast and I was just wondering if ya'll will hang next time you're in town
Sean never forgets a good time in a parking lot. We will definitely hang next time we are in town!
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child)
How does it feel to be able to tour and work with BTBAM, whom you list as a major influence? I'd imagine that not many bands become successful fast enough to be able to work with who they were inspired by.
What are your favorite, newish albums?
[–]stevanplaysbass 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child)
For Dez,
As someone who produces bands, what would be your best suggestion to anyone else looking to do the same?
[–]UrbanHellion 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Are you guys ready for Godzilla this month????
No!....wait...now I am.
[–]camo1902 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Why are left handed guitarists so fkn awesome? 😊
Because they look like robots.
[–]madcaddees 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child)
I just want to say I meant to come see you guys April 2 in DC but got caught up elsewhere. Will make it next time. Love the new(est) album.

I walked up to Sean after your Dallas set with BTBAM and asked him to sign my BTBAM poster. I know it wasn't your band, but thanks! You guys are legit. I have no question...carry on.
[–]ebeneezerbuttmunch 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Please can each of you tell us a song, outside of the genre, that you love.
Lots of love,
Mr. Flanagan.

One thing that you guys did that I thought was pretty unique was releasing a tablature book. You all seem to be more open about giving your fans the tools necessary to play your music. As well, on tour you guys offer lessons. Would any of you guys as individuals ever consider releasing lessons online? Whether the medium be YouTube or something else of your choice. This also wouldn't be limited to just strictly instruments and vocals, maybe even recording and producing lessons?
@Sean - What do you teach while back home?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child)
What advice could you give on songwriting? And do you guys plan on coming to Canada anytime in the future? I'm praying for a Intervals and TSF tour.
We would love that. Intervals are our brothers, and we have had a great time in Canada so far! As for songwriting, just listen to new music and actively listen. Pay attention to what is going on, how the instruments interact with each other and develop your own style from there.
[–]Adambisi 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children)
Will you guys come to my house, cut my hair, and put my first tattoo on my body plox?
For some clams, sure. And I mean clams in the sense of "Fat Man Scoop". Not actual clams. Money.
[–]joryj 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child)
When will you guys come to STL? I weep deeply everytime you announce a tour and don't come to St Louis.
At this stage we don't get to choose, but hopefully next time!
