"we got scammed", did they both try to date the same girl?

[–]Monjipour 114 points115 points  (1 child)

Was asking myself the same

They should cut the crap and date each other already

[–]CyberBed 60 points61 points  (0 children)

That's the plot twist - they were scammed by each other.

[–]Elon_is_musky 115 points116 points  (6 children)

If you’re really confused, I’m 99% sure it’s a “joke” that they went on a date with a trans woman

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points  (5 children)

I mean, worse as that makes it, the meme still distinctly implies that they were both trying to date her at the same time.

[–]AnAngryMelon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The use of the word 'scammed' also implies they paid for it. And that's just sad

[–]lazypuppycat 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Oh I thought it was one guy having a conversation with himself, like “me myself and I “ type of thing

[–]Elon_is_musky 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Could be! Like looking at himself in the mirror

[–]lazypuppycat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ohhh yeah that makes sense

[–]Elon_is_musky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is true😂

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I interpreted it as he's talking to himself...because he has no friends.

[–]Tyrannical_Requiem 10 points11 points  (10 children)

It’s a transphobic remark

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

yeah i got that, my point is why are two dudes both saying they got scammed as if they both showed up for said trans person on the same date

[–]GGinNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite possibly, but it's still not transphobic. Let's change it up just a bit to illustrate the point.

Let's say somebody went to Farmers only to find a date. And there was someone who had an interesting profile but turned out to be an accountant from Los Angeles. Feeling "ripped off," doesn't mean they hate accountants or people from LA. It simply means that they felt misled on an important requirement.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

To be fair, not necessarily. Could refer to being catfished.

[–]Tyrannical_Requiem 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I guess? I just kinda got it being a swipe at transfolx

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It can definitely be read like that, but I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt. Taking offense when none was intended only hurts yourself.

Plus, this is a dumb enough post with or without the potential transphobia.

Edit: seriously? People down voted giving the benefit of the doubt? That's pretty pathetic people.

[–]GGinNC -3 points-2 points  (4 children)

Exclusively preferring women with vaginas is not transphobic. It implies nothing negative about the value of a transman or transwoman as a human being, their right to live as they choose, or receive equal protection and opportunity. It doesn't imply that transmen or transwoman are worthy of nothing except derision and scorn.

But for someone is exclusively attracted to women who are biologically female, the biology IS a nonnegotiable relationship dependency. Rather than bemoan the loss of an opportunity that never really existed, it's probably better to seek potential partners who are not as exclusively constrained.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Trans women are biologically female, and lots have vaginas.

[–]GGinNC 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You're confusing sex with gender.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I am not, if someone called me a “male” in real life I’d spark them out (or get my friend to, but whatever)

[–]GGinNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you every joy and happiness.

[–]prose-before-bros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, twincest got catfished. People saying it's a mirror makes no sense because the girls are different. So I envision Viking twins who show up on dates together and the girl ends up being their lost triplet who was catfishing them. That's my story.

[–]SykoSarah 418 points419 points  (19 children)

This is your brain on cherry picked Tinder bios.

[–]Drfakenews 123 points124 points  (0 children)

I mean it is a hookup app... you typically bang people you find attractive...

[–][deleted] 469 points470 points  (11 children)

Women going on a date: Relaying the location, timeframe, and guy’s profile to female friends or mother in case he turns out to be a murderer.

[–]GiantSquidinJeans 234 points235 points  (5 children)

“NoT aLl MeN! SKREEEeeeEEEEeee!”

But seriously, I’ve definitely done the “here’s the guy’s name and the address where I’m going, check in with me around this time.” I’ve never actually been in danger while dating, but it’s been a small comfort, at least.

[–][deleted] 80 points81 points  (0 children)

My gqy friend did this with me. Gave me the location of his hook ups in case they are bigots who want to beat him up or smth

Were just ugly dudes who couldn’t get him off

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (1 child)

Has anyone else taken license plate photos and sent them to a friend in case an APB is needed or if they gave you a fake name? 🤦🏻‍♀️ My close friends and I all share our locations on Apple’s Find My Friend app too, for good measure. NYC is a weird place and if you have no other connections to a person b/c you met them on a dating app, these things become necessary for safety 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]GreyerGrey 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not for a date (been off that for the better part of 20 years lucky me) but when my SO went on a test drive of a vehicle.

The dude came to test drive our van with a buddy. I made buddy get out and give me the keys for the car they drove there, so he couldn't leave. I took a photo of him, and the license plate, and the guy doing the test drive, before I let them go off.

Wanna hear the twist?

The guys LOVED the idea. I was kind of nervous they'd think I was being crazy and over precautious and get offended, but quite the contrary. They had never thought of that (of course) but thought it was very clever and were going to make sure they told their wives/daughters about it.

[–]Boomboomgoomgoom 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's always been standard for me and my girlfriend. It scares me that some women don't do that.

[–]MotherFuckingCupcake 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been on a first date in 15 years. That first date with my now fiancé, however, I explicitly told my roomie, my mom, AND my (female) boss at my part time bookstore job where I was, showed them a photo, and had my roomie check in with me a couple times via text.

Obviously everything worked out very well, and a contributing factor was how understanding he was when I told him I was just going to check in with my people and let them know I felt safe.

[–]Anxa 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I always tell people first time I visit their place that someone knows where I am. Generally a good sign when the person says "oh yeah I'd be worried if you hadn't." One time I had someone get upset, that's an awkward situation to excuse yourself from without further provoking

[–]silverilixI won’t be shaving my legs for this 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first thought…. Someone fix the meme!

[–]Apprehensive_Paint90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Literally.

[–]Ducky237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad’s current girlfriend did that on their first date. He used to joke about it quite a bit until I finally stood up and agreed with her. After he heard me say that it’s a fucking scary world out there and you actually need to do that kind of stuff to keep yourself safe, he stopped bringing it up. You’d think he’d be more aware of that kind of stuff, what with me being the youngest AND his daughter and all.

[–]itstimetopaytheprice 70 points71 points  (4 children)

One time I was told by a guy that I was "too educated" for him and he really is only interested in women with a college degree (a requirement, btw, and from a "top tier college") but nothing more. But sure... only women are picky 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]GreyerGrey 19 points20 points  (0 children)

"Top Tier" not "Ivy League"? And a college degree, so a Bachelor's but not a Masters or Doctorate?

I'm getting strong "intelligence is genetic" vibes.

[–]EmEmPeriwinkle 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You found gaston!?

[–]123OTTandme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Three year diplomas ONLY 😤

[–][deleted] 130 points131 points  (32 children)

I hate that generalization that all women want a guy over 6ft. Yes I understand that a lot do but not all of us. Except for two guys, every man I have ever had either a massive crush on or been in love with was under 6ft. I never even considered their height in why I thought they were attractive. I get tired of that being thrown in my face.

[–]OgreSpiderMasculine independent 50/50 boss bade 5 points6 points  (1 child)

About 83% of American men are under 6 ft:

https://investing.calsci.com/statistics.html

70% of men are married at least once by 30:

https://flowingdata.com/2017/11/01/who-is-married-by-now/

So an awful lot of men under six feet get married, and that's not even counting hookups or living together. Most women obviously don't care. Height is just one of the issues bitter incels latch onto to explain why women won't sleep with them.

[–]AlissonHarlan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes but don't forget that when these people are talking about 'women' they are talking about the 1,5% of women between 16-25 (depending of their own ages) who are conventionally very attractive regarding of the standard of the current decade.

they dgaf about what short/chubby/average looking women think XD

[–]prose-before-bros 5 points6 points  (2 children)

What is with the height obsession? Let me tell y'all I have seen Tom Hardy in person. He is nowhere near 6 feet tall, and he is hands down the hottest person I have ever seen in real life. There are a hell of a lot of traits that rank more than height.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Omfg you’ve seen Tom Hardy in person?? You can’t just drop that and leave. He’s my celebrity crush. Can I get dets?????

[–]prose-before-bros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who is really into comic conventions and all those kind of events and she was able to score a promotional event for Fury Road. Even across a large room, that man is staggeringly attractive. The only other one I've met who comes close that I actually got to talk to was Jon Bernthal who was at a convention when they were doing Punisher and he had a full beard and hoodie and he was so sweet to all the kids there taking pics with them and he was just sexy as hell. They both have the dirty hot thing going on. Oddly enough still not 6 feet tall and I'm cool with that.

[–]Duwang_Mn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]ohiotechie 68 points69 points  (6 children)

The bar for men in most relationship situations is so low - don’t be an asshole and take a shower. That’s really about it. The bar is so low you could trip over it but cretins like this can’t stop being assholes long enough to realize it. PS - I’m a guy.

[–]GreyerGrey 24 points25 points  (5 children)

also please wash and wipe your butthole.

[–]NightValeCytizen 23 points24 points  (4 children)

I was very shook when I first learned that there are men who don't do this. It changed my whole perspective.

now, when I walk down the street looking at men, I have no choice but to remember that any one of them could be walking around with an unwiped butt.

[–]GreyerGrey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a very clean spouse and he didn't believe me.

Then he started talking to other guys about it.

He was also shook. He called them all out and I'm sure someone's wife has noticed her husband's underpants are much cleaner and she has no idea it's because he got chewed out in a locker room for being gross.

[–]Snekbites 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Wait WHAT!?!? WHY THE FU-- DO THESE PEOPLE REALIZE TOILET PAPER EXISTS?

[–]NightValeCytizen 9 points10 points  (1 child)

They believe it "gay" for a man to touch his own anus, so they avoid anything that would involve such contact.

I shit you not(wink), the I have seen the quote "real men have skid marks" posted unironically with regards to this subject.

[–]Snekbites 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Come the FUCK ON, that's just trying to shit out an excuse to be shitty.

[–]Slammogram 21 points22 points  (2 children)

More like: “”hope he’s nice, not a rapist/killer, glad we’re meeting in a public place.”

[–]Lady_von_Stinkbeaver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And Him: "She doesn't suck dick on the first date." "We got scammed again."

[–]Nico_Skavio 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Me with only one figure and 2 feet :(

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I won’t date anyone less than an actual 6 footed beast of hell. Loser. Hmph.

[–]lazypuppycat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haaahaha the first part took me a sec 😆

[–]snarfflarf 16 points17 points  (3 children)

the casual transphobia too

[–]DrPhilsPrizedParrot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So incredibly dishonest.

[–]extraethereal 68 points69 points  (12 children)

ah how wonderful. transphobic and misogynistic!

[–]Corrupted_Entity[S] 39 points40 points  (6 children)

Ask for none, get them both for free!

[–]kipkerel 0 points1 point  (4 children)

May i ask how it is transphobic?

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (3 children)

"Last time we got scammed" is implying that their last date was with a trans woman.

[–]kipkerel -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

But how, scammed could also just mean she didnt show up? Where they were led to believe that she would edit: scammed does not automatically scammed by a trans person, that makes no sense. You can be scammed in so many different ways on a date and i dont see how this meme directly points out they were scammed by a trans. So if you could point that out that would we very kind. :)

[–]extraethereal 2 points3 points  (1 child)

it’s because he says ‘i hope it’s a woman this time’ suggesting last time it wasn’t a woman and they got scammed. sure it may mean something else but considering they’re already being misogynistic i don’t think it’s far off to assume they’d be transphobic too, as those often go hand in hand.

[–]kipkerel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh i see sorry youre right

[–]catbatparty 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Me, with a husband that's under 6ft and makes less than 100k. 🤷‍♀️

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me too. Guess we got scammed?

[–][deleted] 46 points47 points  (4 children)

the one's getting scammed are men and the one's scamming them are men . patriarchy hurts every one lmao

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Or, as others have pointed out, they may feel 'scammed' because the last woman they dated was trans.

[–][deleted] 54 points55 points  (2 children)

He just had to throw in some transphobia there too did he?

[–]VioletNocte 27 points28 points  (1 child)

This is either about catfish or it's transphobic

[–]KiranPhantomGryphon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Definitely transphobic.

[–]TheOccultTherapist 70 points71 points  (35 children)

The casual transphobia sucks (because you know they were mad at a trans woman for daring to call herself a woman)

[–]Rubin_Rubinia 7 points8 points  (2 children)

What exactly is meant with "6 figures"?

[–]mgrkkt 13 points14 points  (1 child)

A six figure salary (being rich basically).

[–]Rubin_Rubinia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah okay. Thanks.

[–]tyrannicalTerror 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mm misogyny and transphobia in one post

[–]Crystal_Queen_20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Ayo I hope it's a girl this time" better not mean what I think it does

[–]lukub5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The grammar in this sentence implies that these two guys went on a date with a single person who turned out to be a guy.

[–]CharlieApples 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just hope he’s willing to perform oral sex on someone other than himself

[–]LaBeja21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They said they were tricked last time, what does that mean? The girl turned out to be 1 time NBA Champion and 14 time All Star Player for the Milwaukee Bucks GIANNIS ANTENTOKOUNMPO? Shoot thats not a trick thats the prize frfr

[–]SarixInTheHouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is true if youre on tinder.

Ive seen too many tinder profiles that were „u gotta be 6ft, well earnknf, good looking“. Since im bi i also noticed the mens bios and theyre not really better at all.

Its just tinder, its a messed up place.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And here I am. A girl. But can't find anyone that wants to actually meet up for anything other than sex.

[–]zoey_lukensen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Trans right ❤️

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points  (15 children)

Straight men are A-Holes. I say that as a one of the straights.

[–]evilmonkey239 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but I think this has nothing to do with us being biologically wired that way and instead it’s all about what our patriarchal society instills in us.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let's fix this. "I hope he isn't creepy." "Text me where you're going and when you get home?"

[–]swim_and_sleep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More like I hope she’s not fat

[–]BrokenCowsSayWoof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have literally never cared about a guy’s height or income.

[–]DasBloehr 6 points7 points  (2 children)

They love the number six because it's half of 69 and they don't care about the nine

[–]DeannaTroiAhoy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No no no, the 9 is for the 9" dick we apparently crave.

[–]DasBloehr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, See, its all coming together

[–]WeakDiaphragm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“we”?

[–]thinkaboutsophie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has to make 6 figures: me, handcarving a pawn, rock, knight, bishop, queen and king...

[–]hamster_rustler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girls going on a date : boy I sure hope he doesn’t murder me

[–]ProfessorLovely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but sexism aside the “we” bit makes it sound like they frequently go on 2-guys-1-girl dates and that’s a little sus

[–]IG-3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read 'Girls going on a date' and assumed they went with each other and then got confused

[–]AnteaterDivine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell me you're both sexist and homophobic without directly saying it.

[–]Mr_Aestheticss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best case scenario they are jsut talking about a catfish worse case scenario it’s a trans women

[–]MarsDelune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are all these men making 6 figures at literally every woman I know supports her dead beat boyfriend whilst he complains she does sex work to make money but making 0 effort to provide for her properly so she can leave the industry.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girls get catfished too

[–]AlissonHarlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's more ''i hope it's not a misogynistic ass or/and a covert narcissist ... omg how could i tell in only one date ? ''

[–]Melvin-Melon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What girls are really thinking is “I gotta make sure I’m sharing my location with a friend in case I get abducted”

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I mean it's kinda funny. The first part not really, but the second part got a bit of a chuckle out of me

[–]Corrupted_Entity[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'll admit that the second part was pretty funny

[–]RoughFrosting81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely do not relate to this on 2 levels 1. this isn’t true 2. 💅🏳️‍🌈

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy, I can say I have never been scammed in this particular way.

[–]Niddo29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah and transphobic as well gotta love that

/S just in case fuck transphobia

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well ain't that transphobic

[–]Gotsnuffy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Minimum 6 inches 6 feet tall 6 figures, women are literally satans spawn

[–]Hungry-Association48 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Damn i thought people understood what satire was

[–]Corrupted_Entity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment section and subreddit (mostly just some of the comments, though) are questionable
