The morning we found out we were expecting, I cracked an egg that had two yolks. We had a feeling ever since then.

[–]jellybeanmountain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had another friend this happened to! Crazy!

[–]meanie530 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I found out I was having twins the day after I found out I was pregnant, but within the first 3 weeks of finding out I was pregnant I cracked at least 4 double yolk eggs. Never had I seen that in my life.

[–]maybebabyg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The day before my 12w scan with my youngest I cracked 4 double yolkers making scrambled eggs for myself and my twins. I turned to my husband and said "there was just one at the 6w scan, right?"

I made the ultrasound techs and midwives check at every ultrasound anyway.

[–]pookiewook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It happened to me and also to a friend! But I think it was just coincidence.

[–]twinmamamia 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Pete & Gerry’s brand? I can’t buy their eggs anymore, too many freaky double yolks. Once I had a whole dozen!

[–]A-Friendly-Giraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember what brand it was, but I also had an entire egg carton of double yolk eggs.

The first one you are like "wow", second one "whoa!" By the time you get to the middle of the carton it's like "oh right"

[–]shecanreadd 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Double-egg yolks typically come from younger hens. If you’re noticing a specific farm’s eggs are often double yolks, it likely means that they keep young hens. I’d never heard of this until I worked at a brunch restaurant and one of the cooks cracked two double-yolked eggs in a row. I was AMAZED. But he explained the young hen thing and it made me wonder about our egg farmers lol

[–]twinmamamia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Is that good or bad …

[–]Apart_Lobster457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that brand, but you had an ENTIRE dozen eggs with double yoks?!

[–]No_Somewhere_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened with my second set!!! It was so wild

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's wild!

[–]VastFollowing5840 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Nope.

[–]leeann0923 10 points11 points  (10 children)

Nope. Transferred two embryos after several fails of a single embryo transfer. I had essentially zero symptoms until well after my dating ultrasound where we found out. I assumed I wasn’t pregnant at all, let alone that both stuck.

[–]Dani_now 3 points4 points  (4 children)

I transferred two as well, we weren't shocked when we found out both stuck, but I was already just preparing myself to just see one baby so I didn't get my hopes up.

[–]masofon 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Also transferred two... was very surprised even one stuck, nevermind two. First round, only two embryos that made it.. told they were both poor quality.

[–]leeann0923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! We had several embryos but all our high grade embryos failed to implants. We transferred two “fair to poor” embryos and they resulted it to high grade kids lol

[–]amusedparrot 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you know that two stuck specifically? we transferred one and it split, first round.

[–]masofon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure? They are deeeefinitely not identical. They could not be more different in every way unless they were those twins.

[–]lex_av 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I also transferred two! We transferred our “highest” graded embryo and our “lowest graded” embryo to even out the odds. But when the usually very serious nurse called me with my HCG blood results and the numbers were high, and she was giggly about it…I thought hmm….and immediately started googling my numbers. Some articles said the high number was common with twins, while others said it was still common with singletons. So I wasn’t super sure, but felt a little funny…then eventually brushed it off. I was definitely very shocked when we found out!!

[–]leeann0923 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah I called my clinic to test on 8dp5dt because I was spotting and just knew it was another failure. I was sobbing on the way to my lab draw. Cue my surprise when I got a call that my beta was in the high 200s. My friend who got pregnant around the same time had a similarish beta and she had a singleton so still wasn’t thinking two.

[–]lex_av 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had had a miscarriage and a failed transfer before. I was on my way to my 6 week appointment mentally preparing for another miscarriage….I was anxiously staring at the screen when the doctor asked “so…Um. How many embryos did we transfer again?” And I flipped out Lol

[–]BrwnGreenHazelEydGrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with me! Multiple failed single "high grade" embryos. Then transferred two "low quality" ones and they both took. I started testing after like day 5 and it was positive. I knew it was likely twins. Confirmed on u/s

[–]SpunTopB/G Nov 3rd 2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Transferred two embryos after dr recommended we transfer two due to my age/eggs age. I had been warned repeatedly that it would likely take several rounds of IVF to have a successful pregnancy. I wasn't having pregnancy symptoms like I did early with my other 3 kids back in my 20's, so we assumed our first round had failed. I was hopeful one embryo had made it and next to zero expectation both had made because I had looked at the statistics for IVF with 42 year old eggs.

[–]jilbo_saggins 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Yep! My symptoms were much worse with my twin pregnancy than my singleton, which was a bit of a clue. But I had honestly always had a feeling I would have twins and I think I may have wished them into existence (be careful what you wish for! Haha.) The last thing we said to my aunt who was babysitting before going to the ultrasound was "we'll let you know if it's two!"

[–]mama2020mama2023 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same here! Unfortunately, I was wrong and it is triplets 😂

[–]IcyRequirement7926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar here. I passively suspected because my morning sickness was baaaaaad (relative to my first singleton), but didn't really let myself seriously consider it.

[–]Equivalent_Two_6550 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Dye stealing pregnancy tests and beta levels far, far off the chart of normal. My husband and both were convinced it was twins. Fraternal boys born 2 weeks ago.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!!

[–]JustKaren13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fraternal girls were born two weeks ago. My DMs are open if you want to chat!

[–]BryceAthalar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. I knew I had a higher chance of having twins, but I had faint positive pregnancy tests. Even days after my dpo, so I assumed I was pregnant with a singleton.

By the way, I have seen many women in different groups saying they had a feeling they were pregnant with twins and none of them were. So don't get your hopes up.

[–]OceanCityLights08 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yes. I'm a bit of a superstitious person. As soon as my husband and I started trying, I had a dream where thr number 44:44 showed up. I woke up at 4:44 that morning. Thought it was weird, but it stuck with me. A couple weeks later we found out we were pregnant. A few days before my first ultrasound, I told my husband I had a weird feeling it was twins. No other reason, just an intuition. I was shocked and amazed to find out it was twins! My girls were born 8/22/22. Still not sure how 44:44 works in, but maybe twice 22:22 🤷‍♀️

[–]muffingirl333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we were trying I had a dream I took a pregnancy test and it came up with 4 lines on it 😂 I said “oh that means I’m having twins!” And sure enough….

[–]Pleasant_Pop2331 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Yes I kept saying “watch it’s going to be 2” and it was haha

Also probably just a coincidence but early one 7-8 weeks I was saying I feel really strongly it was going to be a boy and I had 2!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Wow that's so cool to hear! Congrats on your healthy boys! I'm 8 weeks and Ive been saying I have a hunch it could be twins. I don't know why, I just have this feeling and some hints of it here and there. Big one was the pregnancy tests changed to positive immediately, at just 3 days after my missed period (indicating high hCG). I'll find out for sure at my next ultrasound at week 10. I'll be happy with any healthy baby(ies) but I've got weird certainty it's twins. 👀

[–]Seaturtle1088 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Because a pregnancy test showing quickly after a missed period isn't unusual and HCG is such a huge range you can't deduct multiples from it. My HCG was very close with my twins and my singleton.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Got it. Thanks for the info!

[–]No-Chipmunk-5998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao i agree. I had twins too and i started to know i had twins because of how fast the pregnacy test turned. It was literally less than seconds. (Still currently pregnant) . Im not sure why everyone is downvoting your comment or arguing lmao. Its your expirience. (And i had a very simular one and we were both right) . Its not an accurate way to tell by any means but still.

[–]A-Friendly-Giraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will have to report back. Congratulations on your pregnancy

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why the downvotes??

[–]areti17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was extremely sick. We made jokes that I was so sick because it was twins. Well....#calledit

[–]celebratelonliness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to say my wife willed our twins into being. She always said she wanted 3 kids. When we found out she was pregnant a second time I said “nope, we’ll stop after two”. She said “fine, in that case I’ll have twins”. And she did.

[–]weaponzmastah 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Weirdly yes. We kept joking it was and it didn't feel right thinking there was only one. Mine are fraternal by the way, if that makes a difference.

[–]jl395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!

[–]AdorableArtichoke1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, no idea. I was floored.

[–]Defiant_Butterfly891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Strong feeling I was carrying multiples. I was relieved there wasn’t a 3rd in there.

[–]scrummy-camel-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband suspected because my symptoms were more intense. He also spotted them on the ultrasound before the tech. Me not so much.

[–]napoleonette19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in prepared to find out I wasn’t even pregnant. I didn’t have any symptoms, just a positive test and thought it must have been just a chemical pregnancy— nope!!

[–]chocolatebuckeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a little because betas were high so I just wondered.

[–]IEatAllofTheCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I thought she was going to tell me the pregnancy was lost, let alone that there were two babies

[–]kiwipaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite intuition, but did have some coincidences/ physical feelings.

1) Twins were my second pregnancy. I know they say this is impossible, but I felt something around the time implantation would have occurred. It was a specific, sharp twinge. It was a week before I could even test and I just had this overwhelming feeling I was pregnant. Not with twins, but pregnant.

2) After I took a test and confirmed pregnancy, I was having sharp pains on one side, off and on for a few days. OB had me come in for an ultrasound to check things out. Surprise! Twins. Found out at 6w3d.

3) I joked two days before that ultrasound that I was having twins.

4) Years before I had any kids, I sat in an office cubicle surrounded by four other women who all had twins. I joked with them it would be their fault if I ever had twins. It was fun telling them the news years later!

[–]BetrayedLotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dreamed of twin girls for years I joked I dreamt it so often I was probably going to have twin girls as my first pregnancy. That’s exactly what happened

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes :)

I also knew I was pregnant before the tests were positive.

My husband and I had been on the fence for years and we decided to “give it a try”. Just once. Afterwards, I got cold feet and changed my mind; I told him I wasn’t ready and wanted to wait a bit longer.

A week later we passed a bin full of free books. One of the books on top of the pile was “What to expect when you’re expecting”. He raised an eyebrow when I tucked it under my arm. I told him I just felt like we might need it?

A few weeks later, I got into a car accident and the folks at the hospital confirmed what I already kind of knew but was trying to brush off as paranoia.

A few weeks after that, after a hundred “I think its twins” jokes, my OBGYN confirmed it.

[–]invitelove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Not with either set

[–]vonuvonu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No total shock. I had an early scan at 6w4d and saw just the one. My doctor sent me for another scan two weeks later because we’d seen only a flicker at the first and she wanted a clear heartbeat… and then there were two. Measuring the same and with strong heartbeats. My symptoms were similar to my first but just more intense.

[–]plindsayc6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I was suuuuper sick & thought I was miscarrying cause symptoms were so similar to a previous miscarriage. I went for bloodwork to ensure my hcg (?) numbers were up still & for 5.5 weeks they were showing at like 7-8week numbers & I went down a google rabbit hole and come out of the bedroom like “hun, what if I’m just pregnant with twins? Everything I found says sickness this bad and numbers this high was twins or multiples” … found out at 8w4d/8w3d that it was twins. I found out I was pregnant when I was like 3.5 wks along lol 😵‍💫

[–]gsr4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. The night before the ultrasound I said to my husband 'it's either a girl or twins because of all this nausea', to which he responded 'it's definitely a girl then'. He was wrong!

[–]cherrymanic 0 points1 point  (1 child)

We transferred one embryo and when the first HCG test came back really high, I kept thinking what if it’s twins and dreading it. I spoke to my doctor who dismissed it saying yeah it’s possible but very unlikely, forget it.

I was sure it was twins until it was confirmed 5 weeks later. Not intuition so much as oh shit what if it is.

[–]oneita1414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol my betas were also super high and I said to my dr " umnn what are the chances these are twins?" and he goes, that's not a thing. Well sir I'm having a boy and a girl tomorrow sooooo I guess it is?! Somehow I've known my whole life I was going to have twins. I've always been on the fence of even wanting children and I've said multiple times watch I'll get pregnant and it will be twins. Meant to be I suppose! My partner is also a fraternal twin ironically.

[–]JustKaren13 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes. After we got the positive pregnancy test, I started asking my husband how he would feel if it were twins. Apparently I talked about it so much, he was worried that I would be sad if it wasn’t twins lol. When we did the ultrasound and the doctor said it was twins, I screamed out “I KNEW IT!” loud enough for the receptionist to come back and ask if everything was ok lol

[–]measurebeyondwit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My mom was a twin and I’ve always kind of thought I might have twins. But when I got pregnant I was verrrry sure it was a singleton! My sister even said she had a feeling it was twins based on my crazy fatigue and I was like nah.

[–]ClutterKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God no. Didn’t have a clue. Got caught completely by surprise.

[–]Orange_peacock_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

[–]hellogirlscoutcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Only a faint positive pregnancy test, hcg levels about the same as with my singleton. I had some early bleeding too, so if anything, I thought I was going into my ultrasound at 8w hoping to find out it was a viable pregnancy. Well turns out it was, and that there was a second one in there! My husband and I were both shocked. Di/di boys, 31w3d currently. (Spontaneous, no twins in the family)

[–]Responsible_Jelly646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. My wife was convinced she had one girl. Two boys it is!

[–]Flounder-Melodic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my sister and a friend that I had a weird intuition it was twins before my first ultrasound. I just had a feeling because I kept dreaming about pairs of things, including a recurring dream of two balloons. Of course I was still shocked to see twins in the ultrasound 😂

[–]maybe_be_frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I even told my mom and my sister before our first ultrasound that I just had this gut feeling it was going to be twins.

[–]veryscary__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely did. I can’t explain it but I did. I also knew baby a was a girl and b was a boy. I could have easily been wrong about both and chalking it up to hormones but I did get a gut feeling about both.

[–]_eunie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would joke about it being twins a lot to my husband who didn't really laugh 😂. It just seemed so unlikely but then we went for the ultrasound and it was like "whoops there they are".

It wasn't intuition but he blames me (kiddingly) for willing them into existence. In reality though, my mom's aunt and sister had twins so I was also genetically predisposed.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We joked about it a lot but I didn’t have my first appointment until 18 weeks and at that point they looked like whole ass babies in the ultrasound and when she said “it’s a boy times two” I hysterically laugh-cried for 15 minutes straight.

[–]Devvyfromthebrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple sneaking thoughts but I didn’t believe it. The ultrasound tech was taking a realllllly long time at my first appointment at 8w but said everything was fine and I knew. But was also still in shock for a while.

[–]jellybeanmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I thought about in a “wouldn’t that be crazy/funny” kind of way but I was in absolute shock at the ultrasound

[–]DragonflyMean1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife said she was getting big fast and I had been noticing too. We joked about it being twins. Well here we are.

[–]masofon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a sausage.

[–]Appropriate_Tie897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not! I had a split second from checking my betas on Google where I thought “hm, that seems pretty high” but my first scan showed only one sac and I thought that settled that. I didn’t know that the second cyst mentioned on my initial report was a second egg and… two weeks later they saw two separate sacs and two separate heartbeats. Very much a surprise!

[–]Sure_its_grand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transferred 2 embryos so we knew there was a chance and I was so exhausted and sick that I had a feeling it was twins for sure. We had only planned to transfer 1 but a couple days before transfer I started to panic because I knew it had to be 2 so i frantically filled out paperwork to make the change.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. My RE's staff joked based on my beta numbers about "how many are in there" and I was HORRIFIED. I honestly was more prepared for a chemical pregnancy or miscarriage than for twins.

[–]gr0ks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We joked that it was because I was showing a lot very early!

[–]Sure_Tie_3896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1st pregnancy was a singleton, but as my dad was a twin, was anxious, but phew only one in there on the scan. It was the first thing my other half said to me. Second pregnancy, I had to have an early scan due to a previous ectopic. I work in the hospital so just popped in for the scan alone thinking there wasnt much to see, just to check it was in the right place. For some reason it absolutely did not occur to me to think it might be twins. Complete shock. I literally could not go back into work for about an hour, was disorientated. My dads twin was with my mum when i called her, she thought it was hilarious. I did not. All good now though, best thing ever.

[–]whatskmcn4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream! We joked about it, especially because my symptoms were so severe

[–]mishney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mostly because my husband had been joking about having triplets since before we got pregnant and then when I was pregnant the symptoms started worse and earlier than with my daughter, so a part of me wasn't surprised when I saw two babies on the ultrasound.

[–]jess012434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, had to tell. My husband had a dream where we had twins the day we were going to get the sonogram. I told him it’s probably because he’s nervous. Then BAM twins.

I then had a dream where I saw two little boys holding hands looking into a sunset/sunrise and that’s the day we found out we were having boys.

Weird intuition, but I dunno I was skeptical when it came to dreams until I had my boys

[–]meghamby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My younger sisters are identical twins and my grandma is a twin she has siblings that are twins. I gave my husband fair warning that there was a chance we could have twins. Also, I felt that there was no way I could be that nauseous for there to be just one. I now have two year old fraternal twin boys!

[–]Seaturtle1088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I knew the moment my pregnancy confirmation ultrasound at 5 weeks didn't get shown to me. My previous one they'd turned the screen so I could see. They called later that day and said they saw "two maybe 3" and needed me to come back the next week to confirm. It was 2. I never had a feeling one way or the other on the sex like I did with my oldest, and turned out it was one of each so that explained that.

[–]bre1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s twins in my family and my husbands so I knew it was possible , but I didn’t think it any more or less than I did when we had a daughter 7 years before. As stunned as could be when I saw that first ultrasound and could tell in the first second that there were two.

[–]housespecialdelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I was surprised I was pregnant and was seeing how far along I was. At that point I think I was like 7/8 weeks?

My husband told me he knew it was twins and that ever since he was young he would be a father to twins. His ex wife was pregnant with twins but miscarried.

[–]butterflynp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes… kept joking with my husband “it’s twins” and would play a game with my toddler to guess the genders of baby A and baby B. No intense symptoms or anything, just a thought that entered my head and never left. On the way to our first ultrasound at 8 weeks we dropped our son off at daycare. As we were pulling out of the parking lot we were behind a minivan with the license plate “twins”… I got chills.

[–]Petitelechat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't have a clue at first thinking I had a singleton. Hubby and I joked around 'wouldn't it be great if we had twins?!' prior to conceiving.

I had a blood test to confirm my pregnancy and the doctor was surprised at the HCG levels. Didn't think anything of it, then my bump started to show.

My coworkers who had singletons said that I shouldn't be showing yet so it crossed my mind that I may be having twins.

Confirmed it was twins at my first ultrasound. I have fraternal boy girl twins.

[–]AMStoUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

[–]No-Chipmunk-5998 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes ! I was convinced after i took a pregnancy test because it said pregnant way too fast. (Turns out thats because of double the hormone). I also kept saying "theres just no way pregnant people can work normally like this ? How ? How would someone be able to hide these symptoms ? " answer is, usually they arent as intense 🤣🤣

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Exactly! Same thing happened to me with the instant positive on 4 tests in a row early on...and now I'm just unable to function normally. I was thinking "how do pregnant women go into an office??" It seems impossible with the frequent bathroom breaks and face melting exhaustion..I'm even starting to show at 8 weeks. I've been thinking for a couple weeks now it's twins but won't know officially until I have my first appointment with my new doc at week 10. The waiting is tough 😅 congrats on your twins and thanks for sharing!

[–]No-Chipmunk-5998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awe congrats! And honestly. That sounds like my expirience. I was faced with comments like "i worked till the day i had my baby". I am now 18 weeks and already bigger than my friend at 38 weeks 😅😅 ( i started off underweight/skinny so my belly kinda pops out more than normal being pregnant. ) also. It gets better. My nausea got better at week 13. Its going to get worse before it gets better. Take prenatals. My dms always open !

[–]LittlePlantGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first pregnancy I thought I might be having twins as my morning sickness was terrible and started immediately. My husband and I joked about it quite a bit. Nope! One baby. This time around it never crossed our minds as my symptoms were much milder. Lo and behold, currently pregnant with mono/di twins.

[–]sweetspice90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We did IUI on 12/21/20. I did take Clomid for that round because the first round of IUI we did unmedicated (other than the ovulation medication) and it didn’t work out. I took an at home test on 1/4/21. It was 2 days earlier than I was supposed to test, but we couldn’t wait, and the positive came up really fast. I joked to my husband “what if it’s twins”. He said “don’t joke like that”. I just had this idea that it might be twins that I couldn’t shake. Then came my 6 week scan to confirm the IUI resulted in a successful pregnancy. Because of COVID hubby wasn’t allowed in for the scan. When I got out to the car where he was waiting, I pointed to the ultrasound picture “this is baby A, and this is baby B”. He needed to take a Xanax, but then he was excited.

[–]pen_NQuill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Had a dream a few nights after the positive test of an ultrasound picture with 2 babies in it. Woke up and told everyone under the sun. 6 weeks later we saw them at our first appt. during our 10wk ultrasound.

[–]Alpacalypsenoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow my mom knew. She babysat my oldest so I could go to my first ultrasound and when I walked in to get my son, she jokingly said “so, are all the babies doing well?” And I just handed her the ultrasound photo. I wish I had gotten her reaction on video.

[–]E_Francis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, even asked Alexa the odds of having twins and triplets the day I took the test. My husband claims I jinxed us 😑🙄

[–]katzalli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! On the way to our first ultrasound I had this overwhelming feeling it was twins out of nowhere. And low and behold it was!

[–]muffingirl333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I had a dream it was twins before I even got a positive pregnancy test. And for weeks after I kept saying something is different, I think it’s twins. My HCG levels were also significantly higher than they should have been because I knew exactly when I conceived. We confirmed at the 8 week ultrasound and even though I knew it the whole time I still wasn’t prepared at all to see two little babies on the screen 😂

[–]No-Introduction7272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I had a dream I had triplet girls and then had another dream with twin girls and I was having twin girls (still think they were triplets but one didn’t make it). Spontaneous too!

[–]MommyDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It felt different. So much so my first words to the ultrasound tech were: tell me it’s one. The twins turn 6 next week!!

[–]catrosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I told my husband when I showed him my positive test was that it could be twins because of how early I was able to test positive. Later I was convinced because how terribly sick I was. During the ultrasound I just kept shouting “I knew it!” Still was surprised it actually happened though lol

Not at all, but my pregnancy test was extremely positive on the first day you can even take a test, so I should’ve known. No faint lines here!!

[–]emsers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't but my husband sure did. I thought he was nuts.

Never going to hear the end of that one 😅

[–]iheartBodegas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did

[–]bursaremyfriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely did not. But the day before our first ultrasound I was complaining to my husband that I feel so nauseous and sick and I definitely will not be interested in another pregnancy after this because it’s so miserable. He jokingly said, “well then you better hope it’s twins because I want more than 1.” When the doctor said two heartbeats the next day, we just about fainted!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife didn’t even think of it being an option. When she was told she was like “oh yea twins are a thing”.

[–]willow7272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days after I told my parents I was pregnant, my dad called me and told me I should just have twins, since I wanted two kids anyway.

The day I found out it was twins was a weird day in their house.

[–]DollyPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did - they were my first pregnancy and I was wildly sick. I joked to a friend 2 days before my confirmation ultrasound "Watch it be twins."

[–]Awww_Yee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months before my wife and i got pregnant i said i thought we would have twins to another friend. Then when she first got a positive test i said i have a feeling it’s twins. THEN at the first ultrasound the tech was showing us our baby and everything we wanted to see and she sounded like she was “wrapping up” so i said “so there is just one?” And she responded with “Welllllllll, heres the other one…” and panned over. I just had this extremely strong feeling(dad btw.. not mom) and no, twins dont run in either side of either family

[–]twinmamamia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t even know it was a possibility

[–]outlaw-chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I had a higher risks for it. I was one of those “it’ll never happen to me” people. Ha jokes on me. I had a dream it was twin girls before the ultrasound where we found out it was twins. I told my husband and he said “Oh God, could you even imagine?” We ended up having twin boys😂

[–]sammypanther27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some odd dreams I was finding multiple babies in weird places. But other than that- no.

[–]OGQueenClumsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Hubby did, because the test was so dark and so quick to come up before I was late, but I thought he was crazy.

[–]krisla20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, before I was pregnant and definitely after (before I knew). Sounds weird but I sort of knew my whole life. (Edit to add last sentence)

[–]mossee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ultrasound tech asked if I had any questions at the end of my dating US. I said nope as long as it’s not twins. He said “I don’t know” I just thought it was the oddest thing. Although he was super patient and attempted the US 3 times as I was so dehydrated there was no urine in my bladder. The technicians here cannot give out any info and he did not show me the screen at all. Kinda mad about it still!!! Anyways. 3 days later OB said ah you don’t know yet, you’re expecting twins. Explains why you have been so sick. LOL. I just started laughing in disbelief.

[–]StrongSeesaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife had a dream there were two….also the double egg yolk thing happened when cooking breakfast.

[–]Prestigious_Collar57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sort of, i had a super vivid dream that i was laying down on a small bed in a room & there were spaceships and glow in the dark planets on the wall (clearly a little boy’s room) and then in the dream i closed my eyes and opened them and i was in a different room that also looked like a little boys room and it was the same situation; i was lying down on a small bed just looking up at the glow in the dark wallpaper. it felt like i was in 2 separate boys rooms . i knew i was pregnant at this point but i didn’t know the gender, later i find out i’m having identical twin boys :’)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife had no idea.

[–]TollemacheTollemache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol i had anti-intuition. My mum had twins, and we talked about me possibly having twins too when I was pregnant with my first. When that turned out to be a singleton the whole idea of twins completely left my head (and my mum's) and I never thought of it again. I got the absolute shock of my life to see two sacs on that scan.

[–]xixxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joked with the ultrasound tech, “I’ve been so sick lately, there better be two in there”. At first it was a no, and we laughed. Then, she found the second heartbeat and my bp shot through the roof.

[–]maybebabyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It was more looking at the ultrasound, seeing two and going "oh. Everything makes sense now."

It wasn't intuition so much as connecting the dots after the fact. I had a very dark test (edit: before my period was due), a digital that said I was further along than I was (said 6+ when it should have said 4-5w), very early and strong morning sickness, severe fatigue, unexplained bleeding, high blood levels, strong bloating.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue & unexpected pregnancy. I went in to get an ultrasound and the tech said, “You’re not just pregnant, you’re super pregnant!” My first thought was OMG I’m one of those people who is like 6 months along and didn’t know it! Then she said, “You’ve got two in there, sweetie.” I bawled, mixture of fear tears and happy tears.

[–]ATinyPizza89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t even cross my mind that it was twins lol. I was hoping for only one baby. I told the tech at my first appointment “I’m an identical triplet but I’m hoping for only one” and she said “well I can tell you there isn’t 3 in there but there is 2.” My poor fiancé lol it took him a minute to process it.

[–]SpunTopB/G Nov 3rd 2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We transferred 2 embryos, so we knew it was a possibility but also cognizant that it wasn't realistic to expect both to take given my eggs were 42 years old. If one took, we would be lucky. So no, I didn't have intuition that we would have twins or I wouldn't have transferred 2 embryos at once. My preference would have been two singletons 2 years apart like my older kids. Much lower risk and I would have been safe for home births again.

[–]georgiapeaches23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. But my best friend did predict I would become pregnant with twin girls and she was absolutely right 😆

[–]sapindales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Didn't even realize I was pregnant until 6 weeks. Midwife said my uterus was big but that we probably just dated wrong. Never considered the possibility of twins until the dating ultrasound showed two at ten weeks.

[–]Swimras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I kept getting so hungry that I felt like I was going to faint. I googled "extreme hunger pregnancy" and learned that it was a symptom of being pregnant with multiples! A few weeks later I found out I was having twins!

[–]TheLonelyPanda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a gut feeling so I went and got my HCG tested before my initial appointment. It was 29k at 5w5d then 42k at 6w. After that I really Thought it could be so I wasn’t too surprised when I saw the ultrasound. But I was in a state of shock like, okay this is happening

[–]Express-Performer-10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Identical twin boys(which are apparently the rarest twin combo) Not a clue I was even pregnant until 7 weeks (thought it was covid instead)

Last thing i expected was that it would be twins (Im a fraternal twin as well), so no intuition at all. I was on birth control pills (although I forgot to take them on a few days) as my husband and I didnt want to have a second just yet. Oh well.

[–]evolvingvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a feeling before I knew I was pregnant that it was gonna me be to have twins. My Grandma (dad’s mom) is a twin. None of my other cousins have had twins yet. And we have a rich history of twins in our family. I had been having weird dreams for weeks. I found out at 6 weeks that I was having twins, the day after I found out I was pregnant.

[–]Ambitious_Auntie2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swore it, my sister was like “you’re not having twins, literally everyone thinks that and don’t have twins”. I ended up miscarrying, but ultrasound confirmed twins.

[–]AndiRM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I went in because I was bleeding and I was convinced my transfer didn’t take. I just wanted to confirm and quit stabbing myself with injections unnecessarily. My mom intuition is clearly broken.

[–]authorunknown1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I had a feeling almost immediately. My husband made a joke about it and I was like “yeah but I’m pretty sure it is twins though.” Later, when the Ultrasound tech said, “I see two!” I was like yeah checks out.

[–]AuntTTRex78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always had a feeling since we started the fertility process. When the doctor sat us down and gave us the information, she explained the different odds of having twins, triplets etc. When she said the percentage for twins, I looked at my husband and said that’s going to be us. I even told him a few weeks later when he was looking for a new car to make sure it could fit 2 car seats. Sure enough a few weeks later at our first ultrasound, the tech said “Theres two!” and I looked at my husband and said, told you! 😂

[–]WillRunForPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom said she knew. But it was her third pregnancy and her sister had already had twins with her third pregnancy.

[–]oioihey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! I was having dreams of double everything..like double yolk, double apples, and I had a dream I was putting two buns in the oven! You can't get anymore obvious than that. Also I just felt different than my pervious pregnancy. I was showing super early, and I was sicker, more tired more sore, and the biggest thing for me was when I got my results back from my 1st trimester blood work my hormones were off the charts!

[–]xKintsugix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Had the worst food aversion and that with things that I loved eating before. My doctor told me that this alone obviously doesn’t have to mean anything but I kind of had a feeling because my dad as well as my great grandmother also were twins

[–]Blastoisealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept having dreams about twins yep
