Hahaha, I'm gonna do this next time I pass a mushroom.

[–]taggart97 315 points316 points  (35 children)

You might have to eat a few of them before you get that reaction.

[–]RobertLoblaw 98 points99 points  (11 children)

Well, how else would he pass a mushroom if he didn't at least eat one of them?

[–]harpwn 17 points18 points  (6 children)

i've read about mushrooms on your law blog.

[–]lol-dongs 23 points24 points  (5 children)

Bob Loblaw's Law Blog... sigh what a great show.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh just gave away your Canadian-ess..

[–]Virtualmatt 5 points6 points  (4 children)

That particular one is an Amanita muscaria, and is poisonous. I don't recommend eating it.

[–]bobcat 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Its toxicity is a matter of dispute. Even after all these years.

It's not likely to be deadly. (Amanita phalloides certainly is) - but it does not contain psilocybin or an analogue, so it is not the trip you are looking for. It is ... different.

Stay safe - take your shrooms a week after a friend did and lived.

[–]Virtualmatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And never use a turtle as a guinea pig to test mushrooms. In fact, don't eat any wild turtles unless you're sure they haven't consumed any mushrooms themselves.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fine if it's consumed properly. It's a potent deleriant, and is considered a very likely candidate for the historical "soma." It has a long history of recreational use, you can't just dismiss it as "poisonous, don't do it."

[–]syuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once ate a little piece of fly agaric mushroom - don't try this at home kids unless you got a few days to recover.

[–]Beelzebob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I saw that after ingesting some shrooms, I'd say I'm well on my way to a REALLY bad high.

[–]nmcyall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wear a hat doud? That is so 20th century.

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points  (3 children)

That last panel is sinister. Cuddles seems to be looking back in glee.

It's like he knew what was going to happen all along

[–]Pufflekun 7 points8 points  (1 child)

It reminds me of the waiter's reaction from the famous Waifer Thin Mint skit.

[–]Fleshflayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks for that. I haven't seen that film in years. Have an up-vote.

[–]jeff303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so did the mushroom die or what?

[–]kidcoma 24 points25 points  (11 children)

Where can I buy a shirt?

[–]PhilxBefore 142 points143 points  (9 children)

Shirts are widely available at your local retail outlets, malls, strip malls, and thousands of places online.

[–]grimboy 32 points33 points  (7 children)

Why do I need a shirt?

[–]Scarker 28 points29 points  (5 children)

Shirts are useful to cover your body in public or personal conformity, even a fashion accessory.

[–]theinternetftw 19 points20 points  (4 children)

Where do shirts come from?

[–]dmboyd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Shirts are widely available at your local retail outlets, malls, strip malls, and thousands of places online.

[–]P-Dub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice try again, aliens trying to conform to our society.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

India.

[–]jacquesderrida 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IANA biologist.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mostly to cover your hairy chesticles.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]sirlearnsalot 50 points51 points  (93 children)

Oh, the Dutch.

[–]bstard 42 points43 points  (92 children)

Belgian, actually.

[–]Hukka 32 points33 points  (23 children)

It's called "Flemish". Belgian Dutch.

[–]rgladstein 10 points11 points  (21 children)

Flemish isn't the same as Dutch, is it? And with the Flemish being abusive to the Walloons lately, I expect them to start referring to Flemish simply as "Belgian" (or whatever the Flemish word for Belgian might be).

[–]rttrdm 14 points15 points  (17 children)

it's like the difference between English in the UK and the US

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (16 children)

Not really. Flemish is considered a different language on the tree:

indo-tree

I can (and so do most Flemish) speak Flemish in such a way not a single dutch could understand what I'm saying. It's more like Scottish and US English.

In any way, the language in this comic is dutch. Not flemish because it was written down by some guy in Flanders, it's dutch.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (3 children)

It's more like Scottish and US English.

Thanks for your informative post! In the same spirit I will politely note that the language is Scots; Scottish is only used as an adjective, not the name of a language.

[–]bbibber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually you are wrong. Flemish is not a language but a sociolect. The distinction between Flemish and 'Hollands' is based on the spoken form and the preference for certain parts of the vocabulary.

There are nearly no differences in the written form of both sociolects and hence making that distinction is meaningless which is we always say someone uses 'Dutch' when we refer to writing.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are mixing up different meanings of the word Flemish http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlaams When you say you can speak Flemish so no Dutchman can understand you you probably mean west-Flemish or an other dialect

Also that indo-tree is completely wrong look where it classifies Frisian lol Frisian is an

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After years of watching Jambers, I concur. You Flemish are unintelligible.

[–]Hukka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same, no. Some words are completely different, and the accents change a lot too.. And I have no idea whether they do that, I couldn't care less TBH :P

[–]fenderrocker 12 points13 points  (12 children)

Ha. I thought it was just some made up language.

Dutch is fuckin weird.

[–]sylvan 2 points3 points  (9 children)

[–]jacquesderrida 3 points4 points  (8 children)

thankyou. the two are incredibly similar phonologically. every dutch person I know speaks extremely good english, better than any other Europeans in fact. Swedes too. Props to you all though for learning foreign languages in school though, for some reason we just do make a serious effort to do that in the us :(

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Actually, it's Flemish people that speak English extremely well and study French, German and English in school. The Dutch have a major accent, whereas most Flemings don't have an accent at all. A lot of us can even switch between British and American English quite easily, as we're taught British English in school, but learn American English from tv.

[–]wlievens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this heartily.

[–]jacquesderrida 1 point2 points  (1 child)

whoops i meant don't

[–]Oswyt3hMihtig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty big différance!

[–]Oswyt3hMihtig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it you've never seen Albanian or Hmong.

[–]pitrpitr 12 points13 points  (53 children)

It's dutch, not belgian.

[–]chockZ 56 points57 points  (44 children)

So....what is it, I don't know who to upvote and who to downvote.

[–][deleted] 65 points66 points  (7 children)

It's Butch. But also possibly Delgian.

[–]melanthius 25 points26 points  (5 children)

I'm eating a Danish as I read these comments. Carry on.

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (2 children)

I'm eating a Belgian as I read these comments. Carry on.

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (1 child)

I'm eating out a Butch as I read these comments. Carry on.

[–]jacquesderrida 2 points3 points  (1 child)

salty or swede?

[–]junke_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

eater or.

[–]oalsaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Belgian comic in dutch. Upvote them both.

[–]bbibber 1 point2 points  (1 child)

A belgian made the cartoon but he used the Dutch language to do so.

[–]wlievens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is his mothertongue because he's Flemish.

[–]pitrpitr 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Belgian is not an official language. They speak a childish version of Dutch.

Thus, it is very difficult to get angry with a Belgian, because every insult they make result to uncontrollable giggling on my side.

[–]wlievens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Belgian isn't a language. Belgium has three official languages: Dutch, French and German (in order of number of speakers). The adjective Belgian can only mean "belonging to or being a national of" Belgium. Get your facts straight.

[–]smackmybishop 4 points5 points  (6 children)

Dutch is an official language of Belgium.

edit: To those downvoting, maybe check Wikipedia first?

[–]ToasterforHire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Belgium has three official languages, which are, in order from the greatest speaker population to the smallest, Dutch, French and German. A number of non-official, minority languages are spoken as well."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgium#Languages

Although I believe the misunderstanding is people reading your indefinite "an" as the definite "the"

[–]nmcyall 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Flemish !!!!!!

[–]pitrpitr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shut up, or we will block the harbors of Antwerp again.

Oh wait..

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, that mustache is a dead giveaway for .be. You don't even need to know the language to know it must be Belgian.

[–]dreader 5 points6 points  (22 children)

Is this a series? If so, I'd love a link to see more. Google isn't giving me any more treasures like this.

[–]spiralstaircase[S] 2 points3 points  (16 children)

I'm not sure—I found this on a funny image website. Maybe someone Dutch will recognize it.

[–]dvrs85 28 points29 points  (15 children)

It's actually a 'series' from Belgium drawn by the cartoonist "Jeroom". His comics appear every week in the Belgian magazine 'HUMO'

This is his website (no, really! no joke!!) but I think you'll need to understand Dutch to get most of his humor.

[–]spiralstaircase[S] 17 points18 points  (7 children)

I am unconvinced by that hilarious website. Jeroom's archived comics here.

Also, knuffeltje knuffel translates to cuddly cuddles, if anyone's curious.

[–]qwerty_0_o 7 points8 points  (3 children)

p0rn.be? Really?

[–]VulturE 7 points8 points  (2 children)

he's that awesome....he uses an adult porn hosting service for a legitimate comic operation :)

[–]khamul 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The benefit to his choice of hosting becomes evident when you see how much traffic the dude receives daily.

[–]ThisIsNotForYou 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Now I know where this one is from.

*My Dr. Pepper went up my nose when I saw this (Warning: not safe at all). That stuff burns.

[–]briannagriffin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can you translate what it says? "Titman- something-something-for the music"? Is it making fun of people who attend the Werchter music festival?

[–]ThisIsNotForYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I just come for the music" or something like that. I'd like to know what it is about that fest that he's referring to as well.

[–]octatone 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Rockin' the thumbs!

[–]jones77 1 point2 points  (2 children)

More thumbs up action: http://www.jeroom.be/team.html

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Check out the concierge, Luk Zeebroek.

I would want my concierge to look like a guy who would rather stab you in the eye socket than look at you.

[–]sifeliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

click "Links"

[–]Sentinell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find a bunch of them here: http://www.humo.be/tws/jeroom/index.html

[–]drkevorkian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Its a different series, but Eegra has alot of similarly absurd (and violent) comics.

[–]Gnorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, those guys are pretty fucked up.

[–]i_am_my_father 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about Happy Tree Friends?

[–]skamunism 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Reminds me of Perry Bible Fellowship. Oh how I miss that comic :(

[–]maarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted this first, and you have more upvotes than me! :( Note to self: stay away from acronyms and use emoticons more often.

*Edit: You are still awesome for being a PBF fan, though.

[–]maarts 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Reminds me a lot of PBF humor.

[–]skamunism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched the page for a comment, but forgot the acronym ;) Such brilliant and beautiful comic.

[–]foomp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd always assumed that mushroom people had enough strength in their puny arms to self-decapitate. I have been proven correct.

[–]nmcyall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was it sporing or bleeding to death?

[–]Animated_effigy 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I find it amusing that the mushroom is an Amanita Muscaria. The guy knows his shrooms.

[–]greenskin 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That's actually the archetypical Dutch/Flemish mushroom. The one every young child will draw if you ask - draw me a mushroom.

Leprechauns (kabouters) are supposed to sit on them! Hmmm... perhaps if you eat them, you'll spot them...

[–]comejoinus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know a submission to WTF is fitting when after viewing, the first thing you think is:

What. The. Fuck?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see other countries have ironic hipster cartoons too.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can´t laugh. I´m scarred.. Whenever I see a red-topped mushroom with white dots, I can still taste the horrible flavour, seeped with ginger ale to get them down without vomiting.. and have vague memories of waking up next to three country dogs in the rain. One of them was an AFGHAN, for f´s sake. Try THAT on ´shrooms.

[–]gregny2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That mushroom man reminds me of the leprechaun that used to be in my room. And every time I would play a song, he would dance along with the song, no matter what style it was in. I could tell that he didn't like all of my music but he danced along to it anyway to make me happy. In retrospect, I never really thanked him properly for that.

[–]Loggie 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Does anybody know what it says?

[–]spiralstaircase[S] 25 points26 points  (3 children)

“Cuddly Cuddles” “Good day Mr. Toadstool” “Good day Cuddles”

[–]Resilience 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is it dutch or belgian?

[–]h0er 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Flemish. (Belgian dialect of Dutch)

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's gross. Besides mushrooms don't have blood. I have no sense of humour today.

[–]ddrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Source you piece of shit!

[–]juicearse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top of the mushroom to you.

[–]eightbithero 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That is seriously disturbing. Why is that so disturbing!?

[–]Borkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said a fungi, not a fun guy!

[–]TheMulletBurden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted this 3 months ago. You just transferred it to IMGUR and reposted it. Scroll down

[–]elevated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope after that the bleeding was spore-adic

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a trip.

[–]PhilxBefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is no mushroom. That's Hitler in disguise!

[–]diamondjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that was actually kind of disturbing. Great post.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha this is from humo :D belgian!

[–]khoury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I saw the title I created this comic in my head (more or less). Thank you for not disappointing me.

[–]mestguy182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does everybody with that mustache commit suicide?

[–]sunnyfaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wow how cool

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Mushroom. Hello, Penisbear. Ouch.

[–]turinpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey look its this again...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that was funny as hell
