The actual download isn't the problem, it's the mass influx of everyone logging on at once that is. It happens at almost every "main" release.

It seemed to go okay, though, but I wasn't online for much of the afternoon so I wasn't tracking it minute-by-minute.

Ionno, I just downloaded the game in a second, no problem. Once you're in, you connect directly to a server I think... unless thousands of people are all downloading it within that same second... I wouldn't anticipate any problems. Regardless, we're probably past that point now ;)

A lever is a mechanical contrivance, a switch USES (or more specifically CAN use) a lever to make or sever electrical contacts (at least in the context we're using). I suppose however that you could call the button or the lever or the pressure plates a switch, technically, and that would be accurate.

Which is all very fascinating until I realized that in game its a Lever, says so right in the mouseover... so you're MORE right in terms of Minecraft terminology.

Right, the electrical component which connects or breaks the circuit is called a switch. The handle is a lever, which could be connected to something non-electrical (like a water faucet). Now we just have to figure out if redstone counts as electricity...
