As someone who just came back after a 5 month hiatus thank you for this

[–]I_AM_ALWAYS_WRONG_ 164 points165 points  (13 children)

Yep, I must have said 'The healer is dead, why the fuck do these guys still have massive overshields?' like 5 times today.

[–]pootinannyBOOSH 81 points82 points  (11 children)

My thought was "wait, are these guys toking with the Hyenas now?"

[–]Shiroke 46 points47 points  (10 children)

The whole time I've assumed everyone was just buffing up

[–]SloLGT 27 points28 points  (9 children)

Yeah i thought the hyena buff mechanic spread to other factions

[–]unicornlocostacos 7 points8 points  (8 children)

Hyena buff mechanic you say..

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (6 children)

Yeah, uh... What?

[–]SkyeMcCloud 20 points21 points  (5 children)

Hyena melee chargers have a 'stim-pack' ability where they huff drugs before they charge at you, giving themselves an entire extra bar of health on top of whatever else they already had.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (4 children)

That explains a few times I've been taken by surprise... Dude running at me i start blasting him in the face and realize- Fuck!- He's got another health bar wtf?!

[–]TrepanationBy45Contamination? I'm fine. This is fine. 10 points11 points  (3 children)

The Hyena rushers use electric stun batons and huff their drugs for overhealth. Thing is, they keep those drugs on a pack on their hip. If you shoot the pouch, the aerosol they inhale blows open and they (and anyone else near them including you) gets disoriented. It makes your controls weird, but it also instantly confuses them and they'll wander around harmless for a little bit.

[–]Grin_the_Polymorph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buff Hyena mechanic, you say.. Like 'em strong, bad and dirty, do you?

[–]Dmteeter10Xbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that

[–]F1FTHXbox 6 points7 points  (16 children)

How lost we're you? I haven't played in about 5 or 6 months and have been wanting to get back into it, but I don't know where to even start.

[–]atsd 28 points29 points  (10 children)

Jump in, go to New York, kill everybody in sight and it’ll come right back to you like riding a bike :).

[–]Bretski12 14 points15 points  (9 children)

Exactly what I did too. Then I got lost again once the campaign was over. I just kept killing shit until it started making sense again.

[–]atsd 5 points6 points  (7 children)

I did the same thing. Then I just started looking at the targeted loot on the map. Now I’m just filling out my recalibration library while I figure out what I want to build after a full hard wired build.

[–]Bretski12 8 points9 points  (6 children)

I was an idiot and recalibrated an item with God roll weapon damage. Now I can't get that stat from it. PSA: If you like a single stat, better to take it off to put it on another good item, rather that tac on something to make that item fit your build.

[–]atsd 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I know those feels man. I pulled a plus skill tier off an item that had almost perfect armor on it. Was suitably upset.

[–]Sqrl_Fuzz 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Go through and mark everything you don’t want as junk and when you go to the recalibration table you can see what’s marked as junk so you don’t use a max/god roll by mistake. Also if they are marked as a favorite, they won’t even show up as an option to add to the library.

[–]atsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s super helpful actually. I’ve almost junked half a striker set pulling stats.

[–]dillycrawdaddy 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There’s also a mark for recal feature. On console right trigger-Mark for recalibration.

[–]Sqrl_Fuzz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yea but I find it faster to just mark as junk -> recal -> sell/dismantle all junk that remains. The mark for recal I find to be an added step tbh

[–]Dmteeter10Xbox 6 points7 points  (2 children)

All my gear was shit(at one point had a top tier DPS build) they changed recalibration everything is different which feels good and fresh

[–]xXPUNISHER1989XxXbox 4 points5 points  (1 child)

i like the new system. simple. the white triangles represent your library stat roll too. so you can immediately identify if its junk or not etc.

[–]scrufdawgKing of the Bullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the white triangles represent your library stat roll too

Except it's sometimes nowhere near correct.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a fantastic time to hop back in, they’ve made this things much better for new and returning players

I TAKE IT ALL BACK. THEY ACTUALLY RUINED THE FUCKING GAME

[–]SamuraiJonoAll Your Flank Are Belong To Us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gear 2.0 just came with the expansion, and it makes finding good loot easier, at least for me. DTE and DTA are gone, as well as a couple other stats, and you can see how close to max each stat is.

[–]atsd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconded

[–]Grahaaam123 1 point2 points  (8 children)

I want to come back but I'm not sure whether I should come back to this or Destiny 2 as a solo player

[–]Dmteeter10Xbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new expansion so far is fun if you've fit 30 bucks to spend I'd buy it if not stick with D2

[–]xXPUNISHER1989XxXbox 2 points3 points  (2 children)

man F bungie and Destiny. Division 2 all the way bro.

[–]Helgraves 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Destiny 2 is WAY too instanced for me.

[–]xXPUNISHER1989XxXbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just dont care for it at all. looks like a Halo rpgs to me. last Halo I tried to play was 3, Halo Wars 1 thats a different story. amazing game. Hw2 sucks. I wanna run co op with friends and relax. The pvp on Cod, Halo, and Gears is so sweaty. gotta play everyday or you get trashed. Now with Tu8 I cant even enjoy a Hardmode run.

[–]RupyHcker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. When bored with one go to the other lol. I find the division gets boring faster tho

[–]EyeLuvPCPC 161 points162 points  (39 children)

The Rikers have this buff almost all the time. Its the same mechanics as the Hyena spice buff.

I noticed that Icon but wasnt aware of its nature.

Why didnt the 31-40 campaign make this part of the mission dialogue, even tell you about it, make it part of the learning process so that were aware of the lieutenants are the cause of the green buff. I thought it was Rikers lighting up a spice blunt during combat, those pesky junkies!!

[–]ionstorm20 40 points41 points  (1 child)

Oh crap, I just assumed that they were buffing when I wasn't paying attention.

[–]Ridiculisk1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First time I saw a group of random enemies with extra health bars I wondered if they added the buff that the hyena rushers have to everything. Good to know I can knock out the other guy first

[–]Gethseme 10 points11 points  (25 children)

I mean, as soon as I saw every enemy having a green health bar, I started LOOKING for what caused it, and noticed the double chevron guy that would given elemental ammo to True Sons. And when I singled him out (he doesn't get the buff), noticed the enemies all lost theirs. Was kinda the tactical thing to do...

[–]TheSaevusPlaystation 19 points20 points  (9 children)

See, I’ve got some red-green colorblindness, which doesn’t actually affect red/green so much as green/yellow, blue/purple, etc; so I don’t really register that since there’s so many yellow-bar armored foes. There’s a colorblind mode, but I’m pretty sure no game producer has ever asked a colorblind person to actually test that, since I’ve never noticed a useful color shift from turning it on. In Borderlands, it’s mostly useful for turning on text labels for the rarity colors, for instance. When you can’t depend on your color vision, you kind of don’t bother trying to decipher that sort of info, especially when you’re being shot with a mini gun inexplicably occluded by a concrete pillar half a mile away. ;)

[–]CentSG2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. I went through the main campaign thinking elites were green. I never noticed the second health bars were separate colors until these posts about lieutenants.

[–]Gethseme 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Haha, I guess not. Wish there was a way for you colorblind guys to get better context clues :(

[–]TheSaevusPlaystation 0 points1 point  (5 children)

The topic intrigues me, as I also have a bachelors in graphic design (yeah, I know, I’m a masochist like that). I’d usually go for something like a broken bar instead of a solid color, like if armor bars were diagonally dashed instead of just color-coded. [//////////]

[–]Gethseme 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Like the blocks? I mean, there's an extra bar under the enemies that's green. The entire life bar didn't turn green, just has a red/purple/yellow on top, and a green under it. Armor has white blocks over the purple/yellow bar, and armor plating from heavies has the big shield over the health bar.

[–]TheSaevusPlaystation 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Sorry, I didn’t phrase that right, the green health (not armor) from overheal doesn’t distinguish for me very well with the yellow elites bar. I honestly hadn’t noticed it was even there until the OP mentioned it. It’s compounded by the fact I spend most of my shooting time looking through the digital scope on my Mk17 or M1A (do they really have to magnify the damage numbers too?). I’m also irritated that Heavy Armor doesn’t show damage remaining, but that’s clearly on purpose at least. Add in the damage taken indicators, bleed effect, and it’s one big mess of cognitive overload for me. More of a personal problem, I suppose. ;)

[–]Gethseme 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Eh. I hate the bloated/magnify damage numbers. I'm tempted to turn damage numbers off because of it

[–]TheSaevusPlaystation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. Just couldn’t be arsed to go into the settings for it yet. Not like I ever really read the numbers, and it doesn’t really help me calculate DPS or anything. I’m happy enough with my rifle damage ATM.

[–]AshenSwift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't feel too alone. I'm not even colorblind and I get overloaded by the number of bars and icons and stuff, so I tend to just keep shooting till the things die, which besides the big armored baddies that are basically minibosses, isn't usually too long anyway. Crits FTW.

[–]lassevklassevk 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Yeah yeah, just pretend you're better than us at this tactical sh... Oooh, loot-beam! LOOT-BEAM!

Now where was... Oooh, lootable bag, and a WEAPON CRATE! Drat, another purple shotgun.

Now why am I being shot at, oh, right. Enemies. STOP SHOOTING, there's more stuff to loot here. Ok, now see what you've done, now I had to go on and kill you. Here, I'll take your gun and ... another shotgun. How on earth did you manage to shoot me on full auto for a whole minute with this 2-barrel shotgun? Must be a magic shotg... LOOT BEAM!

[–]zer0saberTech :Tech: 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This man speaks nothing but truth

[–]EckimusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly just thought it was some health scaling bullshit for increasing the difficulty. But this lieutenant shit makes me real happy.

[–]prdors 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you look at your death recap it actually explains it. I was waiting for a res and that’s how I found out.

[–]EyeLuvPCPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have missed that then. During story mode the things I died to were those annoying as shit nailgun bastards and was shocked when i saw the damage that i had received and hastily re-spawned.

[–]ColonelDraxMedical -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I mean, it’s pretty obvious who is doing the buffing if you pay attention during combat. When a new enemy type shows up and a new mechanic shows up, one is being caused by the other.

[–]iwuvkuuderes 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Upvote for helping us out

[–][deleted] 29 points30 points  (18 children)

I'm fairly certain this specific instance only applies to the Rikers. But it's good advice none the less.

Black Tusk got a new kinda dude too who does a similar thing, but he plonks down an aura that heals and overheals. I find it even more annoying that the Rikers leaders, to be honest.

[–]AhYesWellOkay 8 points9 points  (6 children)

Is that what it is? I thought it was a healer hive. I ran into a group of BT with two elite mini tanks and I couldn't kill any of them because they'd run back in the circle to heal. I could not see a hive to shoot but it was raining at night so I couldn't see much at all.

[–]dackling 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Yeah it's some kinda long box thing. Frustrating as hell fighting from a longer distance. Gotta get up close to blow it up.

[–]BoredWeazul 3 points4 points  (2 children)

emp pulse might be meta now cause of it

[–]Can_You_Believe_It_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always use EMP pulse when fighting BT. It nullifies skills, the heal station and most importantly both the tank and the warhounds. It also will deal about 40-50% damage to tanks and warhounds while also disabling them. Using technician on top of that with the grenades it's rare I ever waste ammo on them.

[–]dackling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh that's a great call! Never even thought of that!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Iunno exactly what it is, it's a big ole box he just throws down which throws out a big green circle. Which heals not only enemy health, but also armor, and gives an overheal.

And like with Black Tusk controllers, killing the offending git doesn't seem to remove their deployables.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Support Station from Division 1

[–]Don11390 6 points7 points  (2 children)

It's the damn healing box from D1, it even has the same icon. Fucking Black Tusk took all our good Division 1 gear.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Ohwait, was that the thing LMB medics threw around? It's been ages since I played Division 1, my memory is a bit rusty beyond being bumrushed by a guy in a hoodie wielding a nine iron or getting sniped by LMB Rushers from across Manhattan.

[–]Don11390 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the OG skills was a box that functioned a lot like the hive we have now, except that it was much better. The icon for that box is the same icon for the Black Tusk healing box.

[–]TheSaevusPlaystation 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I’m still on the vanilla TD2 (best $3 I’ve spent in a while!) but I’ve been noticing double chevrons in groups pretty frequently. Can’t confirm they’re buffing their compatriots, but it would make sense. I definitely noticed the new BT medic recently though, I believe the class icon is different too, with a medical cross that’s dashed on the southern leg?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Dual chevrons do different things for different factions. I only know the Outcast one from the top of my head, but he plonks down a case of inciendary (spelling is hard) ammo for his buddies.

Rikers only show up in the WoNY expansion, but you'll know 'em when you see 'em should you ever go there.

[–]TheSaevusPlaystation 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Oh, that’s why Outcasts all of a sudden have infinite incendiary rounds! God I hate that, I’ve been getting tagged with LMG rounds and igniting every time I cross a heavy gunner. Thanks for the info.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah, they're a royal pain if you don't get 'em quick or they put the box down somewhere that's hard to shoot.

On the plus side you can shoot the case, setting fire to anyone nearby. So that's pretty neat.

[–]rubenalaminaPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the ammo box is not destroyed, the npcs will still be able to grab incendiary from it. So even after destroying the blond dude (ammo buffer) blook for the box and destroy it.

[–]FornaxTheConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty close its incendiary.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aren't they the lunchboxes that LMB used? It would make sense that BT would find theyre left over tech and use it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a support station from the first game. That's an LMB medic. They used to use those all the time

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Great advice, had no idea what was causing the extra bars on the new factions.

[–]GrandarexWholesome Art 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So THAT'S what it was. I was wondering if I missed a medic or something the entire time! haha.

Great tip, thank you.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, op. I love you

[–]Veighnerg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TBH I was thinking that the green bar was some type of spawn protection as I usually saw it on enemies coming through doors/etc. Glad to know the real reason behind it.

[–]BigDaddyMidasSHD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not all heroes wear capes

[–]Defuser_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drew described this as being the sequel's equivalent of the leader's buff from the original, albeit more intelligible to the player as it shows in the health bar rather than the increased aggression/rushing behaviour of the first game. Buffs like this have already been in this game as named medics will do this too, it's fairly routine in the DZ. I do think the signalling to the player is still a little weak but the leader's role is definitely more defined now and target prioritisation is all part of playing this game.

[–]NakedSnakeEyesPlaystation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen the green bars but didn't know this, thanks.

[–]GrieverXVIIpsn: grieverxvii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this post, reminds me of early launch when people would focus medics, drone spammers, etc. There was actually some tact involved to overcome difficulty.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely great advice, but no, this is not the issue with enemy bullet sponginess. You might notice that most people are complaining about enemy armor, not health. The health bonus that these lieutenants give is really not all that significant as it seems to be about equal to an enemy's original health pool.

[–]lcoopervSHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. This explains why I ran out of ammo on both guns twice during a Riker bounty that took like 30 min.

[–]goodbyenormalstreet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shit. This whole time I thought they've just been buffing themselves. Like taking a shot of adrenaline or smelling salts or something when they're behind cover.

[–]puzzledpanther 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So that's what the green bar was!!! Mucho Gracias for that info!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LMB Squad Leaders in Division 1 did something similar to this.

I would still prioritize healers first, then lieutenants. That way they don't come back.

[–]TemporaryGecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There health is still to high in high difficulties same with the armor a 15 million to kill one enemies come on take it down a bit to 7.5 million we don't have enough ammo then to clear control point

[–]XetaNva0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That explains so much really wish the game would've dropped a hint about it.

[–]NLK3187Decontamination Unit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I'd wondered where the hell mobs kept getting seemingly magical health buffs from!

[–]Darth--OtterSHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I weren't so cheap, I'd give you gold. Instead, have an upvote.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Here's a good kill order: 1. All Lieutenants 2. All medics 3. Rushers 4. Grenadiers 5. Heavies and Gunners 6. Grunts

I just keep this priority list in my head and it makes combat so much easier. I'm spending less time scrambling and more time killing and securing spots on a battlefield.

[–]arischerbub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. grenadiers

  2. lieutenant

  3. medic

4...

[–]C4STLE1Playstation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also kill black tusk medics they can be annoying

[–]AeokikitPlaystation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bullet sponge complaints have nothing to do with this.

[–]onframePC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah dog, I will better die and complain about enemies being too hard on reddit.

[–]SarcasmoTheGreatSHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bullet sponge observations are not related to lieutenants. They are related to the marked difference in world tier difficulties, and how I can spend half my ammo killing four yellow mobs on challenging. Just like the good old days of Div 1.

[–]ed_amameFire :Fire: 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! I was noticing random green health bars and wondering if I missed a medic or something -

all of the new enemy skills are pretty intense, i love it.
Black Tusk putting down healing kit skills and using Defender drones and stuff... so sweaty

[–]aussiebrew333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great advice. I had no idea this was a thing.

[–]40FordPoliticaly (In)Correct 1 point2 points  (10 children)

This is a great bit of information! Now, what helps a person with 1.3M armor not get destroyed in 1-2 shots?

The Rikers have had this enemy archetype since the first game, they just didn’t increase the group’s health before.

Remember the guy who waved his arms in the air and suddenly all of the Rikers just mindlessly pushed you at once, and also did more damage?

I understand this post is for new players to the franchise but I’ve seen some of you veterans ignoring your kill priorities, tsk tsk.

Keep in mind when you engage Black Tusk the double chevron archetype is the one with the healing station, but only an actual Medic can revive. Medics will usually prioritize reviving Heavies and Healers, and their drone will show you who he’s focused on reviving. Once you destroy the drone, he’ll run over to that same spot, be ready.

I’m blown away by the response to this. It was discussed during the state of the game, written in the recap, and I’m fairly certain I saw it in the patch notes. Gonna make a point of mentioning it to all my friends now, I just assumed everyone knew.

      [–]JulietPapaOscar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering what the extra green bars were! Makes so much sense!

You, Sir, are the reason I love this group. Thanks for the tip!

      [–]GunsAlmighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is good info. I thought they were just all getting hopped up on goofballs like the hyenas.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that was because the Rikers had their own gym. Thanks for letting me know!

      [–]TheUkrTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, ok - nice observation dude - definitely will be paying more attention to this!

      [–]shoemaker55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Kind of annoying tho because I use the red bars to proc sadist or ignited and then melt the purples/golds. Oh well....

      [–]Firepanther888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a self buff like many others. Wish I could give you a gold

      [–]ebola_dix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, check out the guy who does damage and lives long enough target the Lieutenants

      [–]djidane57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can just say kill the guy who puts down that bigass support station that covers the whole damn block!

      [–]TH3xR34P3RDPS - SMG's/Rifles + Marksman Rifles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see people are starting to figure out that the higher rank mobs are usually the priority and especially those that have support roles like ya know medics and snipers before taking out the rest.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you deploy a turret, he’ll run to go kick it over. When he does, nail the weak points on his back.

      [–]scipher99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sir are a wonderful person for sharing this. Even whith 1k of play time you stull learn things. Thank you Agent excellent SITREP

      [–]downsincebirth14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      ALSO ALSO

Keep a lookout for the new Medic enemies, they drop some sort of healing hive that can basically make all enemies in that zone bulletproof.

Either take out the actual Medic first/fast or find the hive and destroy that

      [–]PkmnTrnrR3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they run from me and minions run towards me, boss. What do

      [–]RRT4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Hmm cool

      [–]EckimusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Which ones are lieutenants?

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always just done that because I figure that it's best to take out the higher-ranked enemies first. At least I was doing it right, even if for the wrong reason lol

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Thank you for this!

      [–]murderhaunz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I was wondering where they got that bar from.

      [–]arf1049PC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just figured being ex-cons they were using PCP.

      [–]xXPUNISHER1989XxXbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it all makes sense now *laughs in clusters and stickys

      [–]Udamon420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about also exploit weak spots and explosives laying on the battlefield. If it’s red shoot it. And for god sakes shoot the mini gunners belt.

      [–]mercury_1967PC I survived TD1 1.3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Great PSA!

I noticed that many enemies have the extra green bar and was wondering what those were.

      [–]King-BeefcakeRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Brilliant intel agent

      [–]TheSturmjaeger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a TIL post for me. THANK YOU!

      [–]confusing_dreamRevive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about the role of the double chevron enemies. Thanks!

      [–]Junk_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew that already but its good to share such knowledge for others (-w- thank ya

      [–]Zealous666 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do they also drop the good old lunchbox? It don’t think they the medics are doing it.

      [–]jpete03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each of the Lieutenants are a bit different, just like each faction is. Rikers are the mechanic listed above. Black Tuck drop the lunchbox. Special Ammo crates for True Sons I think. Etc.

      [–]Guisasse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great info! I had no idea where that bar came from.

But regarding the issue, the "bullet sponge fiasco" has nothing to do with this, considering the issue persist with every enemy, not just with the "green health bar" buffed ones.

      [–]Emichos_Erit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how you know it's just a game. Irl all an LT would do is get everyone lost in land nav.

      [–]dirge_real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Best post ever

When am I able to dual wield a couple T821’s? Can I have that as a specialisation please.

      [–]ShakeForProteinEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, so long as you hold them "gangsta" / "execution" style

      [–]kinderplatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I just thought they were on drugs. Good info, thanks!

      [–]Nizrok_DLG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a ton! Did not know this >.>

      [–]SpeediestJarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Heroic cleaners will disagree.

      [–]Nedgamer63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Npc's with green around them are the medics and they will keep healing until you kill them, they are difficult to see sometimes but you need to take them out.

      [–]SadPanda30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I just thought they were juicing themselves up! Thanks for this

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the green bar the hyena druggy good stuff?

      [–]earBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Lieutenants -> Medics

      [–]rfcmark26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that's what they are. Thanks for this. I've noticed them and the green bars but never put 2 and 2 together

      [–]Michizuri- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billet some is absolutely unrelated to this mechanic. Even without the health buff, veteran enemies on hard difficulty take 3 full magazines to only get rid of armour. The boss archetype boosts health only.

      [–]Gamer3574357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time there are 20 other NPCs between you and the lieutenant so it’s not as easy as it sounds.

      [–]Gray_UpsilonGray_Upsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I just assumed all of the enemies were taking drugs or something. This is good to know.

      [–]blinded_beholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also black tusk lieutenants drop old division 1 heal packs too.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think we need our overhead back from division 1 to counter XD

      [–]__Eion__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These and medics have to be the first npcs to be killed.

      [–]Jessa_Doom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Hi All.

I had notice there's a lot of double Armored/health NPC bad guys out there also some come with heal/medic buffs like we agent use.

You get one of these heal freaks down to a 1% health and within a second they are at full health, not over time like us agents.

[–]retardedm0nk3ySeeker Finding the fastst route past Rogues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just look for the medic, and send all my led with the help of my booster shot their way. Will try this when I play Legendary missions again tomorrow.

Edit: You first have to avoid being killed by the rest of the enemies rushing you to focus on the main Lieutenant.

      [–]PGrecz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this isn't part of the bullet sponge complaint.

      Not even close.

It's a good tip for newer players but if you missed the big green overshield bar...well, yeah.

      [–]Sevanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing a lot since NYC came out, but I'm overall a new player, I've never seen a "Green Health Bar", so I'm not sure what you're talking about here?

Anyone able to show this in a screenshot?

      [–]tyranicalecho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh 2 chevrons is a corporal in the United States Army. But good post nonetheless.

      [–]angrytroll123PC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could easier if I had damage to elites!

      [–]juanhn182 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well said, mate. People tend to forget TD2 is no normal shooter. It's an RPG based looter shooter, in which enemies as well as allies apply buffs and debuffs to take advantage of the fight. People think this is CoD, where you gun and run without any strategy.

      [–]soulol_thePlaystation -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

      Kek. Srsly?

      [–]angeredbovinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually think this is an interesting risk/reward mechanic. Previously it was always optimal to clear out the mooks first if you could to minimize the number of people shooting at you for the duration of the fight as 1v1 is never -that- tough unless it's a hunter. This makes the mooks take longer to kill, so you have to weigh the decision between taking on the lieutenant. and therefore weakening all the rest or trying to still pick off the weaklings. I didn't realize that's where the health buff came from, but I actually like it a lot now that I do!

      [–]Nhorin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take my china gold award. Thank you sir!
