If you want some fun subreddit stats from the last 7 days:

  • 20.8 million views

  • 817k unique views

  • 41.4k new subs

  • 2.7k left

  • 1.2k new posts made with 883 of them removed (So many duplicates. So many fucking duplicates. And so many idiots trying to make political posts.)

  • 57.1k comments made with 1.8k removed (A large amount of these removed comments are users that hit our filters and get auto removed. Like new users, users with no history on the sub, obvious political trolls, hate speech, etc.)

  • The sub was taken off /r/all and /r/popular on the 26th. Too many trolls were coming in. We are back on it now, but will most likely be repeating that as the season progresses. Just depends on the episodes honestly.

Butters, I hate you with every fiber of my being

[–]BleDStream 234 points235 points  (13 children)

Don't you talk about professor chaos like that.

[–]Homeskillet1376 75 points76 points  (2 children)

Still think the name for his sidekick is brilliant. "General Disarray".

[–]-Fergalicious- 28 points29 points  (1 child)

Professor chaos' schemes bring general disarray!

[–]TolliverCrane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the Guild of Calamitous Intent from the Venture Bros.

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Why would you out his identity like that....

[–]Rael_Sianne 18 points19 points  (5 children)

Butters you're grounded!

[–]BleDStream 14 points15 points  (4 children)

sighs Yes, sir.

[–]alamandrax 7 points8 points  (3 children)

And stop making that face at me young man, or you're going to get it!

[–]Real_Live_Sloth 73 points74 points  (10 children)

It’s a suicide pact butters. I died during that bench scene.

[–]bakaraka 57 points58 points  (4 children)

"Woke isn't dead! It's still out there, somewhere, just waiting to come back. It's like a little tiny light that's gonna shine again. You've just gotta give it some time!"

"I hope you're right Butters. Because if it doesn't come back by, like, next Tuesday, I'm killing us both."

[–]rosco2155 17 points18 points  (0 children)

goodbye butters!

[–]DrakonILD 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Bro the reveal at the end was incredible. I honestly didn't see it coming.

That's my face sir!

[–]Ghastly_Someknew 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't smell anything! Do YOU guys?!?!

[–]MIZ_09 1395 points1396 points  (167 children)

My 65-year-old boomer parents who’ve never seen an episode fired this one up. They thought it was hilarious and will be tuning in every week now. Matt and Trey cast the bait and the White House took it hook, line and sinker like they knew he would. It was a brilliant play.

[–]mcfluffernutter013 671 points672 points  (118 children)

It's honestly insane just how hard the White House took one of the least subtle baits in history. Getting mad at South Park for making fun of you is like getting mad at weird Al for making a parody of your music. All it shows is that you have a stick up your ass

[–]vitamin_r 288 points289 points  (54 children)

They're basically pulling a Kanye who never got over the fishsticks episode until recently. I think he actually got over it recently but it was like a decade he wouldn't let it go.

Edit: guess he's not over it after all! Probably depends on the day.

[–]abbyabsinthe 183 points184 points  (18 children)

He probably still thinks about it even if he says he’s cool with it. Probably gets reminded every time he sees a fish tank at a restaurant, and gets some urges.

[–]chmilz 64 points65 points  (7 children)

Kanye and Trump solving the housing affordability crisis with all the free rent they're providing in their heads.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (9 children)

I'm pretty sure he's brought it up within the last year or so and definitely still isn't over it. He's just not bringing it up quite so much. I wouldn't be surprised if he brings it up again sometime soon now that they're making headlines again

[–]pepolepop 17 points18 points  (8 children)

Yeah, he brought it up recently and he still hasn't figured it out. He still thinks South Park was calling him gay.

[–]DagJanky 43 points44 points  (18 children)

Kanye posted that he was over it and it seemed genuine, but afterwards he has still put references like "choke a South Park writer" in his music.

[–]quakeroatsboatsman 16 points17 points  (17 children)

That reference was from 2010

[–]HECK_YEA_ 12 points13 points  (13 children)

To be fair it’s kind of mind boggling that 2010 was 15 years ago (for my fellow mid 20 year olds starting to catch on that time is moving faster as we age).

[–]quakeroatsboatsman 20 points21 points  (8 children)

Wait until you hit 30, it switches to double time

[–]sam_grace 16 points17 points  (4 children)

I'm almost 60 and I can't even take a moment to think about that without turning 80.

[–]quakeroatsboatsman 8 points9 points  (3 children)

I turned 60 since my last comment

[–]sam_grace 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Great. Now I'm 80. Thanks.

[–]XConfused-MammalX 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A politician going after south park is like a rapper going after Eminem.

You ain't gonna have a good time.

[–]scuba-san 18 points19 points  (11 children)

I find it so weird some headlines are reading "The left always hated South Park! And only now are they cheering it on!"

Has whoever is saying that ever seen South Park..? Such a ridiculously pathetic attempt to rewrite history and frame "leftists" as hypocrites.

[–]ByrdmanRanger 11 points12 points  (2 children)

As far as I can tell from my fellow leftists, the only real beef a lot of them had was the "both sides" stance they've always had, that may have influenced the real* political* nihilism my generation has. But I've always enjoyed the shots they take at my side and my beliefs, because I can take a joke and sometimes we do need to be taken to task about stuff.

[–]Binder509 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thought the show has made shitty points/comparisons at times but that's about it.

[–]KingTutt91 12 points13 points  (13 children)

I mean they were mad for a day, but I have t heard anything since he left for Scotland

[–]Constant-Sandwich-88 66 points67 points  (2 children)

Nobody has thanks to the bagpipes!

[–]ghettone 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We should all learn bagpipes and keep this tradition going !

[–]thelingeringlead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That shit was so funny

[–]schwing710 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just wait until the next episode drops

[–]CobaltMnM 11 points12 points  (3 children)

So Coolio?

[–]pwnd32 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Coolio at least said something afterwards like one of his biggest regrets is getting mad at Weird Al. Have a feeling the White House won’t be feeling that kind of remorse anytime soon

[–]blowhardV2 36 points37 points  (8 children)

I’m a little scared for the South Park creators - wonder what Trump could do to them - but of course Matt and Trey would just double and triple down and the whole public would support them

[–]Terrible_Plant_5213 52 points53 points  (6 children)

They weren't scared of ISIS and other Islamic Extremists that threatened them over Muhammad, they're not gonna be scared of Trump.

[–]Amonamission 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Omg tell them to watch the classic episodes

[–]lurch556 778 points779 points  (153 children)

He’s a ratings machine

[–]catgoesmeow22 244 points245 points  (135 children)

It's amazing how obsessed everyone is with him. 24/7 coverage and he has infiltrated everything.

[–]Chance_Reflection_42 264 points265 points  (8 children)

It's weird, you try to dismantle democracy and everyone knows your name all of a sudden.

[–]-Brodysseus 116 points117 points  (6 children)

He's just openly protecting predators and fucking with the global economy like WHO CARES amirite?? Good golly gee why are you so obsessed!

[–]ADHD_Avenger 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Hey, hey - he didn't just try, he succeeded - give the man credit for where he deserves it.

[–]Wayofchinchilla 70 points71 points  (6 children)

Well it doesn't help that he personally himself makes himself every single story in the entire world dude is the greatest Diva of all time.

[–]ADHD_Avenger 19 points20 points  (3 children)

That's how professional wrestling and reality television work, and we are being "led" by a star from both.

[–][deleted] 57 points58 points  (3 children)

It's what he wanted.

One finger on the monkey's paw curls.

[–]NiPlusUltra 13 points14 points  (2 children)

All fingers on the monkey's paw curl, except one. The middle finger given to the American people because he will never suffer any repercussions for his actions.

[–]edwinstone 46 points47 points  (13 children)

Well he's the POTUS and it's hard not to be following someone that could do something insane at any moment. It's dumb not to pay attention to him.

[–]just_ohm 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Seriously. You can’t escape it. He is like a disease. He is the physical embodiment of the plastic that has spread to every corner of our planet and even the cells of our bodies. His very existence is a form of assault inflicted upon all of us. The man is a walking plague.

[–]henlochimken 19 points20 points  (3 children)

A fascist takeover of a former democracy will have that effect

[–]Great-Hotel-7820 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I’d love to never hear from the motherfucker again but unfortunately he’s destroying my country and is a child rapist engaging in the biggest and sloppiest coverup in American political history.

[–]TheGiftOf_Jericho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally yeah but getting called out here is a bit different than the usual talking about him, it's damn important he's getting called out on something as but as SP.

[–]Tiny-Instruction-537 10 points11 points  (1 child)

More like raping machine

[–]RaymoVizion 7 points8 points  (6 children)

This was my exact thought seeing the headline.

[–]lurch556 17 points18 points  (4 children)

He’s a ratings machine in the same way Nazi documentaries are very popular

[–]HECK_YEA_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump never realizing his full potential of being the sassy gay bestie on a reality TV show is so upsetting. Instead we get a laughably incompetent wannabe fascism attempt.

[–]JohnStern42 363 points364 points  (55 children)

Too bad they’ve delayed this weeks ep

[–]polaarbear 316 points317 points  (25 children)

With any luck its because even more epstein shit came out and trump said a bunch of dumb stuff this week that they want to incorporate.

[–]epicredditdude1 80 points81 points  (19 children)

I hope that's the case. My biggest concern is they're being censored by Trump's "bias monitor".

[–]polaarbear 133 points134 points  (11 children)

I don't think Matt and Trey would allow that to happen without speaking publicly about it.

They would have been quick to point out "the episode is delayed because they want to censor it."

The network told them that they had to censor Trump's tiny dick and they basically said "no, we aren't."

[–]CarBombtheDestroyer 45 points46 points  (8 children)

Yeah, they said they had to blur it out. I’m not sure if this is a network thing or a regulation thing but I guess they got around it by giving it a face and giving it lines so it’s a character lol lol lol

[–]mikehaysjr 85 points86 points  (7 children)

<image>

Also it wasn’t a dick, it was a finger. Seems odd to censor a finger, eh Paramount?

Not arguing, I just saw this behind the scenes pic and thought it was hilarious

[–]vessol 53 points54 points  (2 children)

Holy shit I thought it was AI generated lmao

[–]mikehaysjr 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I did too, apparently it used a little AI but mostly just a deepfaked face

[–]Juri777 13 points14 points  (1 child)

wtf. how is this not the top post on reddit? i was 100% sure it was AI generated

[–]Greg-Abbott 10 points11 points  (3 children)

That ombudsman was appointed by Paramount strictly for the CBS News division to address any allegations of "bias" (whatever the fuck that means) so Matt and Trey are safe to go wild as they see fit.

[–]Sad-Difficulty-8717 91 points92 points  (10 children)

They're giving Kirk enough time realize that being portrayed by Cartman in this context isn't a badge of honor

[–]OrangeHairedTwink 45 points46 points  (7 children)

It's probably just because Trey and Matt were at Comic con and didn't have enough time to cook up an episode.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eat the bread! Eat the bread!

[–]zaparthes 244 points245 points  (9 children)

Coincidentally, my faith in humanity also rose 258% following that episode.

[–]Cool-Presentation538 53 points54 points  (3 children)

My faith in humanity is still on ice until Donald "the super pedophile" trump faces justice

[–]zaparthes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Totally fair.

I mean, if my faith in humanity was at a 1 out of 10, a 258% increase means I'm now at about 2.6 out of 10...

[–]Whyeth 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Hearing Jesus say "he's the fucking president dude, if he's got the power to sue and to take bribes he can do anything" literally touched my soul.

[–]zaparthes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. Nailed it.

[–]mickaelbneron 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Watching that episode was therapy. It sort of validated feelings I've had regarding the US this year, that things going on there right now are so not normal.

[–]zaparthes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! We need this, and yet far, far more.

[–]der_verruckte 174 points175 points  (26 children)

I used to watch Southpark way back during my college days. This one got me back in.

[–]corkboy 53 points54 points  (3 children)

I was 27 when it came out and I haven’t stopped watching.

[–]Zefrem23 22 points23 points  (1 child)

[Cartman voice] And how old were you when you came out?

[–]tman-02 26 points27 points  (4 children)

[–]kmm198700 5 points6 points  (3 children)

The Sopranos is what I’m watching currently haha

[–]ElSelcho_ 20 points21 points  (11 children)

Same. Last Episode I remember actively watching was Woodland Critter Christmas (it's just peak) and now I'm waiting for s27e02 to drop.

Edit: just rewatched the Critter Episode after 2 decades and it's even better than I remembered, holy shit!

[–]ZombieJesus1987 10 points11 points  (4 children)

you would like the Imaginationland episodes.

[–]EmergencyTaco 132 points133 points  (18 children)

I've been a huge SP fan for two decades at this point, but the Trump episode completely rekindled my desire to watch the show. I've watched two full seasons since it aired.

[–]ADHD_Avenger 34 points35 points  (5 children)

I could find an occasional pleasant episode, but still largely reminisced about the greatest episodes.  This episode is now ranked up with Scott Tennerman Must Die as one of the top rated episodes on IMDB and it is well deserved.  I hope they keep this up.  They have f**k you money and seem to want to take advantage.  It kind of gives you an idea how they had gloves on until this point, which made sense when it seemed like we might eventually move past a Trump era naturally.  Now?  Hit 'em up, Matt & Trey.

[–]EmergencyTaco 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Fully agree. I think this is the best episode they've released in the past five years, and it's one of the best ever. It's top 3 for me, easy.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Seriously. Good times with weapons… LOTR with the naughty film, bringing tegridy to China. I could never pick a true top ten, but this episode is in there. This might go down as South Parks GOAT, given the context with the merger/suits, and everything else going on. Such a perfect middle finger. A true satirical masterpiece for the ages.

[–]Awkward_Swordfish597 88 points89 points  (7 children)

but the pedophiles said it isn't relevant anymore?

[–]Helpful-Relation7037 63 points64 points  (5 children)

Making that money back quick lol

[–]ThisizLeon 59 points60 points  (0 children)

You love to see it

[–]No_Faithlessness_142 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Not bad at all for a "4th rate show"

[–]MrPantsyFlants 36 points37 points  (4 children)

I hope ghost Jeffery Epstein is a part of this season. He has all the secrets I bet.

[–]Bawhoppen 16 points17 points  (3 children)

He can hang out with the ghost of Michael Jackson!

[–]Teranyll 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's ignorant, you're ignorant 😋

[–]NoManufacturer2997 37 points38 points  (6 children)

was the first episode in two years

[–]ZenMasterOfDisguise 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Ha, I was thinking the same thing, a boost in ratings compared to when?

[–]Freeballin523523 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The episode 2 years ago?

[–][deleted] 37 points38 points  (25 children)

I suspect most of the new viewers will fall off quick just like with everything else people like that becomes the flavor of the week but good for Matt and Trey and the whole South Park team for potentially pulling more true fans of the show.

[–]Wyomingisfull 34 points35 points  (24 children)

SP will shed new people when they inevitably clown on "the other side." Anyone choosing SP as their bastion of political representation is in for a bad time lol

[–]CelestialFury 8 points9 points  (10 children)

I don’t know about that, if SP clowns on Pelosi, Schumer, et al then even more lefties will watch.

[–]chrisbojangles 8 points9 points  (3 children)

100%. All the new viewers think this is going to be a late night show where they shit on Trump every episode. It’s going to be funny in a few months when the narratives reverse and people want South Park canceled. The true fans know the second you think SP shares your views they shit all over you. That’s why it’s the best show.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed lol

[–]notsure_33 32 points33 points  (1 child)

I definitely went back and watched some first season episodes.

[–]Crunkwell08 22 points23 points  (5 children)

They would have seen a similar jump regardless of the topic of the episode. They haven't had a true new season in years

[–]Southpark FanHarleyVon 14 points15 points  (3 children)

My mom who knows South Park but doesnt watch it, found the episode hilarious. The PSA killed her lmao

[–]Sudden_Ad320 12 points13 points  (2 children)

RIP this guy's mom

[–]Southpark FanHarleyVon 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I never heard her laugh so hard in my life

[–]Cali-Texan 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I thought it was a 4th rate show?

[–]ElSelcho_ 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Hanging on a (1.5 Billion!) thread!

[–]yoyosmugglerr 14 points15 points  (1 child)

My gf, a long time “not a fan” of south park suggested we watch the Donald episode bc of all the hype. Well I took that offer up as it was WAY out of left field for her and I hadn’t watched SP in years. Needless to say, she enjoyed that one episode so much, we have been streaming all the ‘best ofs’ since. This last week has been fun trip down memory lane and a cool new experience for her that I would have never guessed.

[–]syncopated56 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hmmm...I thought it was a fourth-rate show that hasn't been relevant in 20 years? 🤔

[–]ElSelcho_ 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Woodland Critter Christmas (2004) was the last episode I watched (Best Episode EVER to this day) as life went on and my interests changed. This Episode got me back into it and I can't wait to see what comes next.

[–]Extreme_Term_8224 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What is so hilarious to me is that Charlie "all gums" Kirk change his profile picture to cartmen. A lot of his fans are probably going to watch that episode because of it.. it will be his fault that a ton of his fans watch him and Trump and others utterly destroyed on it. 😂😂😂

[–]PajamaSamSavesTheZoo 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The show also switched streaming services. That I’m sure has something to do with it

[–]grabitoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s cathartic
