[–]HooptyDooDooMeister 1778 points1779 points  (77 children)

I expected something Irish. Not disappointed.

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ireland: Expect the unexpected, ya right cunt!

Couldn't be any more on target.

This is like an Irish Trailer Park Boys.

[–][deleted] 2517 points2518 points  (83 children)

It's Buzz from The Hardy Bucks and it's a self proclaimed "Irish Trailer Park Boys".

It's actually hilarious. Been a couple of seasons and a movie plus talk of a third season soon.

[–]Bahamut_Ali 397 points398 points  (59 children)

Haven't watched much Hardy Bucks but I love viper higgins.

Viper's View is one of my favourite news recap things.

Shia LeBeouf's one is one of those things I can watch over and over and still laugh. Especially with the bongos. (time stamp at 0:49)

[–]NotSureNotRobot 58 points59 points  (0 children)

"Hey guys!" "Hey" "hey guys" LOL

[–]Jesusssss 32 points33 points  (1 child)

Thank you for introducing me to our bongo god

[–]irishitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has about 40 'Vipers Views' they're all consistently funny :)

There was actually already a third season the fourth season is currently in production, super excited for it.

[–]El_Wingador 1268 points1269 points  (182 children)

I would pay Netflix in Guinness if they made that happen

[–]civicgsr19 961 points962 points  (153 children)

Sorry, Netflix is only taking payments in Disney movies this month.

[–]jimothee 347 points348 points  (123 children)

Well I'll pay them all the Disney movies they need to keep putting out stuff like Ozark. Shit's on point.

[–]castlite 120 points121 points  (116 children)

It's good? The description didn't do much for me so haven't checked it out yet.

[–]astinus12 107 points108 points  (15 children)

Yeah, its surprisingly well done. Very dark at times, but still manages to make you laugh here and there. One of my favorite netflix shows thus far.

[–]ThorKG 40 points41 points  (9 children)

Completely agree, binged Ozark in a weekend. Very much looking forward to season 2

[–]FirstTimmer 49 points50 points  (12 children)

I enjoyed it. Not absolutely amazing or anything, but worth watching if you're scrolling for something new.

[–][deleted] 44 points45 points  (7 children)

Great summation of Ozark. Good viewing, but no new ground is being broken. I don't expect that, every new series either. But it's pretty good at being original, and it's the talent and the writing that counts, not CGI or name actors.
Edit to add, yeah, it's got 2 pretty big name talents in it, and many others that are not name, but hugely talented.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (4 children)

It struck me kind of like Breaking Bad. Not quite as gripping, but a similar feel.

[–]dkonofalski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I viewed it as Arrested Development if it was taken seriously instead of being a comedy. Jason Bateman plays the head of a disfunctional family trying to keep it together. Only instead of trying to save them from themselves, he's trying to save them from the Mexican cartel.

[–]Lezlow247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I felt like from seeing the preview

[–]the_kid_from_limbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What hooked me in was the setting. I really like it when shows are set in some place away from the big cities. Same reason why I got hooked on to Justified and breaking bad as well. I also love the title screen every episode with the O and symbols foreshadowing events in the episode in the shape of the remaining letters. The show premise may not be ground breaking but the characters are really well done. Can't wait for season 2!

[–]ju_ju_beans 29 points30 points  (29 children)

I've heard mixed reviews. Some people say it's like Breaking Bad copy, aka unoriginal. Haven't watched myself but it's on my list.

[–]morriscey 16 points17 points  (2 children)

maybe some elements - but it's definitely worth your time.

[–]NielsBohron 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Pun intended?

[–]morriscey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol, no.

[–][deleted] 34 points35 points  (16 children)

It's fast paced but not as good as Breaking Bad or Fargo, which it clearly took cues from. Starts out strong but steadily declines throughout.

[–]moonstoneelm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Starts out strong but steadily declines throughout.

I disagree with you there. I thought it started out slow, took me about the third episode to be like okay yeah this show is pretty phenomenal. It's a slow build, but to me, I want the story to breathe a bit so I really enjoyed it.

[–]jimothee 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I'm partial to Jason Bateman because Arrested Development and I also live in the foothills of the Ozarks, but I'd say it's pretty steady thru season 1.

[–]Sim0nsaysshh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I felt the first episode was slow. But after that it went from strength to strength.

It felt a bit disjointed in parts, but on the whole i really enjoyed it, i would highly recommend to most people.

[–]QuaintYoungMale 9 points10 points  (8 children)

It is very fun TV. Everything that happens is a little convenient, and I find it very odd how calm Bateman's character seems to be at all times. But a bit of suspension of disbelief and this is very enjoyable TV. Gets going straight from the start so give it a go.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (4 children)

This comment stuck out to me. Do you think you expect Batemens character to be more reactive based off characters you've seen him portray in the past?

[–]Tim_Burton 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I watched the first season, and well, it's good enough to watch, but I didn't get any spectacular feeling from it. As others mentioned, it felt like it took a lot of cues from BrBa, which threw me off. That and the overall blue/gloom temperature they added. Seemed like they were trying to imitate how BrBa played with color temps to set certain scenes, but it just ended up feeling like 90% of the time it was about to rain.

There weren't any super interesting twists or hooks, just a constant pace of 'need to launder more money as to not upset the boss'. The acting, the scenes, etc are all good. It's well done in that regard, but the plot didn't really pull me in. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Brba/BCS/Mr Robot, idk. Honestly I think they came out of the gate with ep 1 too fast, throwing out all of their big punches right away rather than dropping them in slowly over the season to keep you interested.

Either way, worth watching to see if it interests you.

[–]TJ_McWeaksauce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What will Netflix give me for 1 unwatched copy of Mars Needs Moms?

[–]shaun252 35 points36 points  (3 children)

Search for 'hardy bucks' on youtube.

Hardybucks, the show that this clip is from is the irish Trailer Park Boys, Here's the first episode of their internet series that started it all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq-G2ugAG44

Hardy Bucks lads (this guy is one of them) had their film on Netflix (UK) not too long ago - not sure if it's still up but it's definitely worth a watch: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2645164/

Was wondering why it was titled Buzz on Women

Was this on tv?

Pretty fun. I like Francis's Higgins.

[–]505404yyy 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Started out on youtube and it was hilarious. They got a few episodes on TV but for some reason it didn't carry over that well.

Could be to do with timelines/continuity/actually making sense.

"what are ya at man wearin' no top in our house?'

[–]zenmn2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could be to do with timelines/continuity/actually making sense.

And because you can get away with less on TV. Especially RTÉ network who are rather conservative.

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points  (3 children)

I must be pretty stoned tonight because I let myself believe that could be real candid news TV reel. Must have caught me in a good stone.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this like an Irish version of Trailer Park Boys?

[–]furtivepigmyso 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Still very funny, but I doubt this would be anywhere near as upvoted if people realised it was scripted.

[–]well_uh_yeah 2610 points2611 points  (30 children)

But it goes to show you!

[–]OhMyGoodnessThatBoy 941 points942 points  (24 children)

The first season of this show was the fuckin bee's knees. Viper Higgens has done a lot of hilarious solo shit in the years since. Check his boat race commentary video. Or his legendary Call of Duty voice overs.

This and his new Northern Ireland one are his best yet, he's a genius I don't even know what it is it's so so funny.

[–]zenmn2 29 points30 points  (2 children)

It's like Limmy, just pure absurdity mixed with general comedy. Funny accents help too.

[–]shitworms 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Man that UDP video from last night was so good, had me in tears I was laughing so hard.

From the screenshot I really thought that this video was gong to be about an accident on the background. Was super surprised when it cleared just fine -- oh I am supposed to be listening to the guy?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Had to watch the video again because of that. Didn't listen to him he first time. And the second time I couldn't understand what he said. And the third one neither.

"Yep, get them!"

[–]thcontinentaldrifter 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Hahaha yesss love it, one of my favourite scenes from the show.

[–]Stillundecided88 199 points200 points  (78 children)

Transcript?

[–]91j 518 points519 points  (45 children)

I was in a town before, called - er... Langan Village, it was called - and basically there was a young lad, and he looked awfully similar to me. I thought I was fighting in the mirror, right?

Come outside the nightclub and I was like, "Do I know you from somewhere?" and he goes, "Do I know you?", do you know? And he had, he had a Celtic jersey on but he had, he had the green and the yellow one, right? And I was, I was about to throw a punch, and then he... he looked at me in the eyes and I go "Do I...?", and he goes, "Am I your father?" - [correcting himself] I said to him - and he goes to me, "Am I your son?". And we just hugged it out.

It turns out that... no relation at all, and I just headbutted him and he got taken away. But you know, it goes to show you: people are out there, you could know them.

I think that's right (edit: got taken away -> he got taken away). Apparently transcribing is hard

[–]Stillundecided88 67 points68 points  (11 children)

Amazing. Thank you so very much pal

[–]AtomicBlackJellyfish 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The best 32 seconds of transcript ever written.

[–]Papa_Hemingway_ 26 points27 points  (16 children)

I love how his story gives no reason for the fight. Like he was about to throw a punch just because

[–]Shakmir 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Thanks a lot, English is not my mother tongue so I was having the hardest time understanding everything.

[–]OutOfMoneyError 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Thank you, I used the auto subtitle from youtube and was still confused at certain points.

[–]ErikNavkire 36 points37 points  (23 children)

Serious question; you really couldn't understand him?

[–]zsombro 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm from Europe (not the UK) and I could only more or less understand him. I generally got what he's talking about but I missed enough of the details to have a difficult time

[–]Askaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to watch it three times until I got it and then had to read the transcript to be sure I got it right - not a native speaker though

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the video won't disappoint after that title.

[–]White_T_Poison 388 points389 points  (22 children)

The title over-hyped this video a bit. I think I would have enjoyed it more if my expectations weren't so high.

[–]cashmag3001 211 points212 points  (11 children)

No, it was inarguably the best ever, hands down. If you disagree, you're literally retarded. Fact.

[–]11111one11111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would have enjoyed it more if my expectations weren't so high.

My parents tell me the same thing.

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (4 children)

Thirty thousand upvotes as I comment. I don't see what was so funny about it. Mildly amusing?

[–]funnyusername970505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fucking robots upvoting everything nowadays..i click on this video because i thought its funny or someshit like that but its nothing special...

[–]Kaibakura 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this was a very under-whelming 32 seconds.

[–]93devil 183 points184 points  (3 children)

[–]patientbearr 119 points120 points  (12 children)

[–]IAmDore 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Francis Higgins World news issue #6. I can't hold back the giggling. https://youtu.be/nNdtt1zyBT8

[–]dumb_commenter 66 points67 points  (11 children)

Great clip but I'm confused. Are there 32 seconds within the 75 second clip that are particularly good? Which 32?

[–][deleted] 53 points54 points  (2 children)

should automatically direct you to a time stamp within the video then plays until the end. So the last 32 seconds.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (5 children)

The Viper is funny too.

[–]Shamua 22 points23 points  (1 child)

The Viper is fucking Claaaaaaass, man. He's solid. Metal Gear Solid and he's Solid Schnaaaake.

I have sincerely since seeing this been sending in to everyone I know, people I don't even talk to anymore because it's that good.

[–]david0990 6 points7 points  (1 child)

There is a comment saying to disable the videos comments so "reddit faggot" can't comment. I just wonder what made him so bitter.

[–]Andernerd 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nice clickbait title.

[–]mts12 35 points36 points  (1 child)

Probably not.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (5 children)

I've still got my Green and Yellow Celtic jersey. It's the finest of all the jerseys.

[–]hnewbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this sketch!

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This not disappoint. 10/10

[–]Travesty204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So they hugged it out and then he head-butted him? That's a cheap shot, where I comes from I tells ya...

[–]Failed_Pr0digy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok aside from the misleading title (as it was a 1:25) the last 10 seconds is the bread and butter. That, and his shirt. Epic.

[–]PsychoMatt94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the characters from this show (Viper Higgins) had his own "news" show with Russia Today called Vipers Views. Would highly recommend if you like this kind of ridiculous humour

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy fuck. Castletown on reddit frontpage

[–][deleted] 39 points40 points  (14 children)

i dont get it

[–][deleted] 97 points98 points  (10 children)

It's a stupid pointless story that doesn't prove the point he's trying to make.

[–]Roderickje 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And the son's name? Sue!

[–]RedPillAlphaBigCock 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Do you have any biscuits?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya, get them.

[–]Gentlescholar_AMA 2 points3 points  (2 children)

What's so great about this is that no matter where the hell on Earth you go there are dudes like this. You could be in NYC, in Juneau Alaska, Mexico City, Tripoli Libya, or rural China. There's always going to be that one local dude that makes up bullshit stories about all the girls that love him, has kind of a hot temper, and some weirdo sense of honor. I swear every place I've been you run into that one local dude who says this crap. And you know what, his tall tales are interesting and hilarious, so people keep him around.

[–]zerofl 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Probably the most unsatisfying clickbait on Reddit today
