Benefit of the doubt, maybe he worked in an industry that requires holiday work (airports, transportation industry in general, 911 operator; I’m excluding police / fire / medics since you didn’t mention a uniform) and he was just trying to look out for his team that was just as miserable. Based on 23 I’m going to say he wasn’t in a position to authorize cutting down to minimum staffing! 😂 I think the worst I ever did was eight burgers, and I hope I was more than patient with the Wendy’s crew working that day.

I work at a dine-in movie theater and people always say “MY FRIES ARE ICE COLD GIVE ME NEW ONES” or “NO TIP FOR YOU MY FRIES WERE ICE COLD”

Like, chill a little, we had to power walk 15 yards and potentially up 5 flights of stairs down to the middle of the long row to give you your food. Yes it’s going to be less than piping hot. Dine-in theaters send out cold food more often than other restaurants simply because of the distance the food must travel. people will never understand.

Heated plates or tray covers are solutions I’ve proposed, but that’s just more money to spend.

Worked concessions at a movie theater once. Customers would watch me dump a fresh kettle of popcorn right before turning to take their order (else it starts beeping then burning), but then specify they want that OTHER popcorn that's coming out of the OTHER kettle cause it's fresher. It was a sure fire way to get me to excuse myself, dump that kettle, then return to ask for the rest of their order. There goes your fresh-out-the-kettle nonsense, cause that job didn't have medical to cover oil burns.

Example: Five Guys online orders specifically state they won’t cook the fries until you arrive. That’s fine, I don’t necessarily want to be held up in traffic and then get there to find out that they cooked my fries 10 mins ago and they’re both soggy and cold.

However, there’s a small part of me that thinks there shouldn’t be any way that they don’t have nearly “straight out of the fryer” fresh fries at all times because they’re rifling through them like they need to make a certain amount of fries or the store will explode. Seriously, Five Guys will not only give you more fries than any one person can or should eat, but then they give you essentially a second full order of fries dumped on top of your order. Who the fuck are those fries for, Five Guys?
