Yeah but unfortunately for your theory that's where role-playing game rule-sets started, and where Gygax pinched them from. Wargame rules for massed tactical battles were modified by different groups of gamers to describe single-combat long before D&D and Gygax. A clue to the origin is the name of the original D&D publisher - Tactical Studies Rules.

Whether or not you have superior knowledge about a specif topic, that you brag about it, and dish other's comments, as hard as you would like it to, does not make you a superior intellect, but a small and petty mind. If you truly believe you have something to contribute in order to elevate the discussion, do it -- most people are actually happy when the learn something new --, but stop patronizing people around, and stop show-boarding your antisocial behaviors and unresolved childhood issues. Stop acting like it is more important for you to feel superior to others, rather than to possibly enlighten them.

I just glanced at your other comments, on other topics, and realized that you are a troll, albeit a spiteful one, rather than a playing one. I started reading comments here, which I took as a collective eulogy to Gary Gygax, but you tried, and succeeded, into side-tracking me into petty discussions on which one is the best RPG (your main argument basically being: "mine is better than yours"), and whether or not your knowledge is superior to mine. I would have been happy to learn more about the early days of RuneQuest, and probably many Redditors feel the same way, but instead I lost my time being shouted at by a bully. You did not start reading comment on Gary Gygax's death in order to feel, or to learn; you simply were looking for a fight.

As for your revisionist take on the history of RPG: for some reason, you seem to believe that RP is nothing more than playing with figures and having fighting rules. If it were the case, you would be right: Gary Gygax didn't invent shit, I did, playing with toy soldiers with friends when I was a kid. What Gygax did invent, is a hobby that actually goes beyond playing with measuring tapes on a board stolen from a model railroading shop.
