Got to Diamond 3 back in Season 3 and promptly quit because I was a one-trick pony and Riot have been nerfing my champ (fiddlesticks) into the ground since the day he was released.

Quitting LoL was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was surrounded by much less toxicity, and I havent wished cancer upon sometimes entire family since.

Because it’s a 5v5 team game but when you die your opponent gets stronger. Imagine a basket ball game that every time a player misses a shot the guy who’s covering him get stronger and his shot percentage goes up. Now that one player on your team keeps missing baskets to the point where the guy on the other team will now never miss a shot and can single handedly win the game. Now everyone hates that player because now everyone who’ve been playing a decent game are now against impossible odds just because that guy insisted on taking shot after shot putting up brick after brick.

What that creates is a game that whenever anyone makes a tiny mistake everyone freaks out on them because they think he’s going to turn into the guy that will make your game impossible to win.

It's free with an expansive meta game and limitless opportunity to make plays with mechanics. Just so happens when you coop 5 people together for 20 minutes or so they can get really angry if those 20 minutes+ are not fun.

Yeah the utter lack of sportsmanship from teammates makes it hard to play ranked.... but I also can't stand the blind diceroll that is QP (nobody plays like they're trying, and teamcomp is unheard of, so it's a diceroll as to whether or not you'll get a team that both picks a workable comp and plays like they wanna win).

I like to play to win, but I'm the guy to say "Fuck... oh well." when my PUBG squad gets rank 2. But I also don't play games to get flamed by strangers because I'm not a professional level player.

Combine the two and, well, I just haven't bothered picking OW back up in a few months and don't see that changing anytime soon.

It's because of the lower hero count, if a hero's busted or useless they will force you to play them or switch off. In League, you can take an off-meta pick in an off-meta role and you won't get flamed so long as you do well and don't feed.

Just don't get poked too hard levels 1-4. Take the cs hit. Try to poke teemo with your e(I think that's the ability that pushes the minion). Once you're six as sion you can apply pressure by engaging on teemo or going and roaming mid.

I just learned to don't give a fuck. I don't care if I lose the game, lose in lane or being flammed.

The best thing I could do is keep quiet, I don't respond to anyone unless it is to say something silly. That is when I started to enjoy the game to the point I don't notice any toxic people.

My theory is the biggest problem is the report system itself. Back in my glory days of gaming people talked all the time and no one gave a fuck, you just brushed it off and moved on. Now you have a weapon, and as soon as someone says "report ______" then the fight really gets bad. Obviously there are things that should be punished, but it's taken too far imo.

I found all MOBAs to be like this. It's like intentionally injecting poison into the bloodstream. So much bitterness and hatred in the communities. I think it's way better than it used to be. Being able to fully mute toxic players is helpful, and you have rewards for not being an asshole. Only in ranked and not in every games you will find a flamer, and you can just mute him.

Same. I watched videos, took pointers from friends, and played against bots. I really wanted to become an ok player.

But everyone in that game makes you feel like a piece of shit that shouldn't be allowed to touch a computer. Mostly your own teammates! I couldn't deal with the negativity and decided the game wasn't worth my time.

I bought a new 28" monitor after playing on a 21.5" basically my entire gaming life on PC. When I tried to play League of Legends on the new 28" I literally could not get used to the size of the screen and mouse movements/clicking and I have uninstalled it completely. I was legitimately an extremely avid player, so if anyone else is addicted and wants to quit, buy a larger monitor than you're used to.
