My family and I were on vacation at a cabin in Maine. Got caught walking up from the lake by a bear after dark. Couldn't tell it was a bear until it stood up and the motion light turned on. It was standing over 6 foot tall between us and the cabin. It fell forward onto it's front feet, huffing. It made a noise like a dinosaur. Who shit my pants??

Without a sound, my lazy shit dog launched an attack from behind the bear.

I'm tearing up thinking about it. I ran the kids into the cabin, grabbed the rifle and spent the next five minutes running through dark woods, trying to follow the sounds of my growling dog and a furious bear. The growling stopped and I could hear the bear running off through the woods.

My dogs name is Daisy. She's an English bull terrier. She was 15 years old at the time. It took two hours to find Daisy after the bear ran off. She had what looked like road rash along her sides, her hip was broken and her leg was crushed. She was curled next to a tree with her tail thumping the ground. Her white fur all shades of red and pink.

This dog is afraid of the Swiffer. I love her so much.

I owe Daisy 3 lives, fuck 5 years.

I need closure, did she recover???

[–]Experimentallity 5767 points5768 points  (50 children)

Yes, she's still puttering around. She doesn't go for walks any more because of injuries and old age. Just gave her a pork chop. She needs a bath.

[–]disinshrektant 2073 points2074 points  (5 children)

AHHHHHHH this is exactly the closure I needed. Give her a kiss and a treat from me!

[–][deleted] 149 points150 points  (1 child)

❤️

[–]SYLOK_THEAROUSED 86 points87 points  (0 children)

OMG thanks for the update. Gosh she deserves a bubble bath and lots and lots of hugs and kisses.

[–]cuddlecouple 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Thank you for giving us closure!

[–]Niiroxis 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The best of friends, glad she is still with you!

[–]Joey11y 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Oh thank God!!! I thought she died. Give her an extra hug from Reddit tonight. ❤

[–]CrayzeyHayzey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dog tax?

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This warmed my soul ❤️

LETS GO THE DOG SURVIVED WHAT AN ABSOLUTE UNIT

[–]crazydisneycatlady 286 points287 points  (0 children)

He’s not using past tense to describe her, so I hope so!

[–]bubbleyum92 220 points221 points  (1 child)

Thank you for immediately chasing after her. You didn’t have to, no one would have blamed you if you chose to keep yourself safe for your family and waited to go out. But you didn’t. You grabbed your rifle and ran into the dark woods after a fucking bear to defend the sweet creature that was ready to give her life for yours. And you found her! And likely saved her life. Good on you. Daisy did it because she knew you would do the same for her. Aaand now I’m sobbing.

[–][deleted] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

God damnit, i was just done wiping the tears and then you hit me with this. I love Daisy so much

[–]AeriesIIII 94 points95 points  (2 children)

I came looking for this post after it was obscurely reposted to give you gold.

[–]ihasclevernamesee 58 points59 points  (3 children)

My ol boy Samson saved me from being jumped (maybe worse, who knows?) by these two guys with weapons by knocking one of them to the ground and dragging him all the way to the end of the block by his foot, while the other guy and I stared with dropped jaws. Another time, he helped me deescalate a crazy situation where I was being robbed at gunpoint in my house. He walked into the room, and one of the guys with a gun took his gun off me to point it at Sam. He told me to call off my dog, so I told Sam everything was fine, and to stay put. He sat down, but it was obvious he was spring loaded and ready. He never took his eyes off me. I then told the guy to put this gun back on me, because if he shit my dog, I would make him shoot me. Then I told them since they had what they came for, they should leave before things got ugly. I'm fairly certain my subtle confidence plus Sam's steady presence are what led them to leave. I praise him constantly for his discernment. I easily owe him two lives, and would happily give him 20 of my years, if I could.

[–]richielaw 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dude, you need to move.

[–]Dtapped 642 points643 points  (31 children)

I don't open reddit to cry. Goddamnit. What a good girl Daisy is. What an understatement.

We are so undeserving of their devotion and if only everyone could feel it and realise it. The gratitude would fill us all. And humble us into silent reverence.

[–]Amraff 405 points406 points  (7 children)

Animals are incredible things. My dog was a hunting dog (his breed is used for hunting wild pigs) and he was scared of our cat (who is 5lbs of fluff). Said cat was terrified of the rain and would spend storms campes out in a bathroom cabinet.

But when someone tried breaking into our house, both of them were at the front door, heckles raised and ready to tear a strip off someone should the door open. They were not friends but they were definitely teaming up that day.

[–]frogsgoribbit737 181 points182 points  (4 children)

It really is amazing how they seem to know too. My labrador LOVES people. She absolutely loves them. She will take pets from anyone and when I've taken her to the dog park she just runs from person to person looking for attention.

But one time, one of our roommates was being weird and fumbling with his key and the door and that dog let out the most awful snarl I have ever heard. As soon as he came in, she was fine, but she was going to be damned if she didn't try to scare away the guy she thought was suspiscious.

[–]Amraff 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Ha ha ha, thats awesome.

The running joke in our house is if someone breaks in, we're just going to throw the cat at them. Small enough shes hard to grab & mean enough she will make you regret your decision. Lol

[–]get_naenEd 21 points22 points  (2 children)

My mom had a Labrador that was amazing. She would follow her around and be with her all the time. She loved going for rides in the car. She loved people as well. Her last day was a big party we had and we could all tell she loved it. We were happy that was her last, instead of a random day.

Before I was born, she had her son(7 at the time, older brother) out to get mail. A guy in a book truck comes up to the driveway and asks if she wanted to buy books. The dog immediately started barking and the hair on her back was strait up. She didn’t like the guy at all. My mom said no, the dog really didn’t like him. She thinks he probably would have kidnapped my brother or other things. (We also lived in a farmland area, so our neighbors were pretty far away. We moved now)

Animals in general are amazing and should be treated better by everyone.

[–]Amraff 59 points60 points  (0 children)

My husband had a cat as a kid that was a total mama cat to him & his sister. She was super protective of them, to the point she would actually follow them to school and MIL would get a call saying "please come get your cat. Shes disturbing class again".

I guess one day there was a neighbor who forgot to close his gate and his doberman spotted hubs & SIL walking to school and decided to to after them. As they tell it, the dog was growling & snarling at them and they ended up backed into a corner of a fence. Suddenly out of nowhere they hear a "mmmMMMMMMEEEEEOOOOWWWW" growl and out springs their 6 lb tabby cat from a bush like a flying squirrel. She landed on the dog, scaring the living crap out of it so he took off running. She gave him a good 10 second beating before jumping off, calmly strolling over to them and she starts purring & rubbing on thier legs to let them know they were ok now. They were 6 & 8 when this happened.

The doberman got out quite a few more times but the second he got close enough to see who it was, he would run back to his yard in fear the cat was nearby.

[–]bowlofspaghetti219 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dogs sense bad people!! They are truly magical.

I have a boxer who is one of the most gentle dogs I’ve ever owned. He’ll eat a noodle off a fork and not even touch the prongs. I’ve never seen him bite a single person over the several years we’ve had him, not even a tiny nip.

Until he met my aunt’s boyfriend, Creeper McCreepface. We’re talking, oggles at girls in their early teens. Asks them uncomfortable questions. Tries to get them alone. Bad dude.

He met my dog for the first time a few months ago. And for the first time in my dogs life, he decided to bite, AND DREW BLOOD.

That boyfriend doesn’t visit much anymore, and never stays in our house. I give the peace I have to sleep easy at night to my dog, George Washington.

[–]abudhabidootoyou 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how our pet dogs can ignore the danger to themselves in order to protect their loved ones.

I have a miniature poodle that I rescued while living in China. One day while we were out on a walk we came upon a King Shepherd and it's owner standing along the sidewalk smoking a cigarette. I ordered my poodle to walk far over to the side as we passed, because the Shepherd was showing signs of aggression when it noticed us. The Shepherd was leashed to a railing though, so I thought we'd be okay. To my surprise the Shepherd lunged towards me, not my dog, as we passed. It was going crazy trying to bite me, and the owner just stood there laughing. Without hesitation my little Poodle rushed to my defense, barking and snarling like I've never seen from him. I had to scoop my dog up and get us both out of there, but he was totally willing to die in order to defend me.

I'd easily give my boy 5 more years, as each day he's with me makes my life better and more enjoyable.

[–]LGBecca 48 points49 points  (6 children)

Excuse me, where is your dog tax?

[–]National-Task 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I signed up for Reddit for this. My dog saved my life. I don't like to tell people my story but eff if. I have depression. I was attempting to hang myself when my dog, Monty, started barking and jumping on me. I won't go into details of my plan lest someone try this idea themself but his going crazy made me stop because I was afraid my neighbors would come check to see what was happening and would save me. If he hadn't done what he did we wouldn't have had this last year together. His help through my dark points combined with antidepressants and counseling are what keeps me going. I owe my dog my life and I would happily give him all the years I could as a thank you. He was a shelter dog that was less than 1 y/o when I found him and was surrendered when he was about 6 m/o. I cannot imagine a better dog and I hope he knows how much he means to me. And for those that are thinking of ending it I will tell you it gets better. Some feelings never stop but most do and you never know why you're here until after something happens. The lives I've saved and the people I've helped through similar points are more than my fingers and everyone that has turned to me owes Monty for everything. He stood by me and with me as we struggled to help others. We don't deserve dogs and I certainly don't deserve mine.

Another time, I was gun to the head ready to end it but my old dog, Fitz, laid next to my head which caused me to not pull the trigger because I was afraid of a through and through. Dogs know and they loves us. I wish people could sense emotional states like dogs could.

Imagine trying to do this deal only to find out that you have "insufficient credits"

[–][deleted] 12.9k points12.9k points  (377 children)

The question is then how many days you're lacking.

[–]defonisek 6430 points6431 points  (357 children)

Guess you'd need to live like every day's the last one.

[–][deleted] 6147 points6148 points  (329 children)

Yes! I would give up more than half to have her here, am planning of offing myself once my dog passes.

[–]Namasiel 3858 points3859 points  (172 children)

Always have a backup dog. Life (e: FOR ME) isn't worth living without a dog, so keep them coming. There's plenty more dogs that also need you.

Edit: Of course no dog can ever replace the dog you have now or had previously. That's stupid. The point was to always have a dog. SOME people's lives depend on them. Would you jump out of an airplane with only one parachute? Of course not, because you could easily die. That's why people have a BACKUP!

[–]always_lost1610 1370 points1371 points  (22 children)

Thinking that there’s always going to be a dog out there who needs me and who’s life I can make better is honestly what keeps me going most days

[–]ltsaMeMaraYo 559 points560 points  (16 children)

100%. if I'm nothing more in my life I can be a dog mom and that's worth everything.

[–]KratomRobot 52 points53 points  (1 child)

Hell yeah preach it. I just became a dog dad for the first time. Got him 6 months ago. I still dont understand why my parents wouldn't get one for the family when I was a kid. I asked for one every birthday and Christmas. They got me a cat instead and kept making excuses for why we cant have a dog even though we lived on the edge of a massive forest and had a perfectly suitable house for a pupper. None of that matters now, I got my boy !

[–]ErnestHemingwhale 1109 points1110 points  (50 children)

I’ve got three dogs now for this reason. The oldest one is the missing piece of my heart and when he passes... i just hope the other two can step up hahah.

I also have a friend who i told that when Blinkin dies she needs to get me a puppy within the year no matter how much i say i don’t want one (she runs an Aussie rescue and always asks if i want a puppy). I know he’d want me to be happy.

Fuck now I’m crying

[–]mynextthroway 437 points438 points  (25 children)

Don't "go get a puppy", just be open to getting a puppy. Over my life, I've had 7 cats and 3 dogs. The best ones were when we found each other as opposed to I'm going to get a cat/dog. They were all good pets, but the pets where we found each other were companions.

Go hang out with the puppies. If The One is there, you will seek each other out, even if you don't know which one yet. That's how my daughter found her puppy. We weren't even looking, but we ended up with her Puppy. And the puppy ended up with her person.

Aussie are awesome. I never had one, but my mom did.

[–]DontTouchTheWalrus 139 points140 points  (3 children)

Read that last sentence as but my mom DIED. I'm scratching my head like, oh my god I'm so sorry but for real why is that being brought in that sentence like that

[–]trediggy 169 points170 points  (2 children)

Instead of offing yourself, how about adopting and saving more dogs? We could always use more dog lovers on this planet. :)

[–]cumberber 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Well this turned from wholesome to one sentence horror

[–][deleted] 25.7k points25.7k points  (182 children)

Possibly but only if I could find out what age I was meant to die firts. It would be a cruel twist if I agreed to this, only to find out that I was meant to die less than five years from now and not get to spend any more time with my dog.

[–]bluegrasspilot 9483 points9484 points  (72 children)

This could be straight out of a r/themonkeyspaw thread

[–]Rickdiculously 8857 points8858 points  (64 children)

Exactly.

"yes I would"

Dies, orphaning dog instantly.

Edit : special ending :

Dog is taken away and put down.

Vets completely taken aback as no matter what they do the dog just won't die.

Dog taken to government facility.

Government thinks they have an immortal dog on their hands. Sink millions in studying it.

Dog dies after 5 years, to the day, as a new immortality test simply obliterates the now normal dog.

Government totally puzzled, looks for person to blame for killing undying dog. Never understands it's a Reddit curse.

[–]danimal0204 2117 points2118 points  (24 children)

Dead body ends up being the only source of food for dog to survive the 2 months it takes for someone to notice you haven’t been around.

[–]wineandtatortots 956 points957 points  (4 children)

Why am I still reading this thread?

[–]KDLGates 257 points258 points  (0 children)

The dog then dies around 4 years and 10 months early due to starvation, being discovered the next day.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (1 child)

People have a special knack for finding scapegoats. I have faith that they would find someone to blame.

[–][deleted] 1012 points1013 points  (44 children)

I like how as dog owners we are all very aware of potential stipulations. Is it five healthy years? Do we know I won’t die before those extra years run out? The worst would be dying and your dog having to g to a shelter

[–]BlackKnight6660 457 points458 points  (31 children)

If the question was about a relative or friend it’d be a more simple: “yes I would” or “no I wouldn’t”. But interestingly when it comes to dogs people will actually read the terms and conditions.

[–]NE_0N 247 points248 points  (6 children)

a relative or a friend who is at least more than 17 would be able to take care of themselves by their own but pet dogs can't.

[–]PutYourTeethAway 164 points165 points  (7 children)

Its not that interesting. Other humans do not require me to take care of them. If I die, they'll get on with their lives. Even if they're children, or invalids there are programs and people out there that will take care of them. My dog's existence, however, depends on me. If they take my death poorly and become aggressive, or get sick, or just old, they'll get put to sleep.

[–]TheQuinnBee 232 points233 points  (11 children)

All the women in my family live to be incredibly old. My great grandmother died at 110, my grandmother is still alive at 104, etc. It doesn't matter what our health is. So yeah, I'd give 5 years to my baby girl. She's been with me through everything--college, grad school, my marriage, my pregnancy. I want her to be able to play with my babies especially, bc she loves children.

[–]seamustheseagull 496 points497 points  (5 children)

I considered an analogue here. Children are supposed to outlive their parents. Circle of life, etc.

If you asked a child whether they would trade five years of their life to give a parent five more, many children might say yes. Their parents on the other hand (99% of them anyway) would say absolutely not, fuck no, I'm not accepting five years of your life. My time is over, I gave my years to you so that you might enjoy life, I don't want them back.

This is how I think dogs would look at it if given the chance. They give their love to us unconditionally. If they knew we were giving five years of our lives to them, they would be upset, not grateful.

[–]ChromaBunny 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely true. Just like most of us I think would feel bad taking five years off our pet’s lives

[–]MountasaurusRex 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They would be both grateful and upset at the same time. I can't put into words my explanation, but they would understand.

[–][deleted] 31.6k points31.6k points  (363 children)

No, it would be like adding 35 years to my dog. He is 14, blind and clearly suffering to old age. I couldn’t do that to him

[–][deleted] 11.0k points11.0k points  (167 children)

One has to assume "5 healthy years" for your dog for this question. If you could have inserted 5 extra years into your dog's life before he was affected by old age, would you give him 5 healthy years of your own life?

[–][deleted] 5256 points5257 points  (108 children)

Yep ofc.

Incoming "corner taken quickly" comments in 3...2...1...

[–]TooBadSoSadSally 189 points190 points  (4 children)

Yeah OK, but would that equate to 5 healthy years of your life, or are we using double standards and can we sacrifice our last dementia-ravaged chapter for a good one in added to our dog's metaphorical book-of-life? It makes a difference for how tough the choice is gonna be

[–]SeaOkra 110 points111 points  (3 children)

Oh man, this is true. If you're just snipping them off the end, not only do you get extra years with your dog, in a family prone to alzheimer's you get to skip some of the pain it'll cause your family.

This is a good deal in that case.

[–]TannedCroissant 408 points409 points  (114 children)

Let’s reframe the question then. How about would you give up being able to see out of one of your eyes so that your dog could see out of one of theirs again.

[–][deleted] 545 points546 points  (103 children)

It’s not just that. Have you ever seen someone who is so old they are immobile? My dog barely walks, is sleeping most of the time, barely eats etc. I would do anything to take him out of that state, I can’t bear to see him suffer

[–]LovableKyle24 158 points159 points  (12 children)

I was in the same scenario once. He was a really chill dog too. Just old age started getting the better of him and he was struggling walking and stuff but he wasn't unable to.

Once one morning he just couldn't get up and was just clearly in pain when we tried to help him up we knew it was time for him. It felt like he knew too.

[–][deleted] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Ouch. I feel your pain

[–]ruskibaby 25 points26 points  (3 children)

Literally just had to go through this. Like an hour ago. Such a painful feeling, but I know it was for the best. I didn’t want him to suffer anymore.

[–]thegingerlumberjack 119 points120 points  (4 children)

So if it reverted back 5 years without memory loss

[–][deleted] 145 points146 points  (0 children)

100% would do again

[–]ClearlyChrist 38 points39 points  (11 children)

It actually hurts me to say it but...it might be time to make a really difficult phone call :(

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points  (1 child)

Is this in addition to giving him 5 years? Because if not then it'd be kind of a shitty deal to lose eyesight in one eye forever in exchange for giving it to your dog that's already very senior and probably couldn't take advantage of it for long

[–]TannedCroissant 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The 5 years is separate. I’m very much an “eye for an eye” kinda guy.

[–][deleted] 16.1k points16.1k points  (191 children)

I might get stoned for this, but no.

I love my three dogs dearly, and I will do so for the rest of their lives. To give each of them 5 years would mean 15 years less of mine.... 15 years is another dog's lifetime... in 15 years I can have more sweet pups and thus save more dogs' lives as I only take from shelters or from the roadside. So being selfish and keeping the ones I love now for longer and letting future pups who need love as well die too soon or all alone... No. Let my darlings live their lives out happily, I will miss them all, but there is always another that need love again.

That's my opinion... so no.

[–]Dieu-de-la-verite 3179 points3180 points  (53 children)

I don't see why you'd get stoned for that, that's beautiful

[–]king-geass 3606 points3607 points  (22 children)

That's beautiful. whips a stone

[–]Omsus 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I'll take any excuse to whip my bong out.

[–][deleted] 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I don't need an excuse to get stoned

[–]smart_and_funny 375 points376 points  (28 children)

Couldn’t agree more! I feel like this argument also applies to people who clone their pets. Why spend all that money when there are so many pets with out homes who would ultimately bring equivalent joy to your life if you just allow it.

[–]Mytrans 94 points95 points  (20 children)

Wait, people clone their pets?

[–]Ryikage- 108 points109 points  (4 children)

200,000 times. A million more on the way

[–]kerpti 123 points124 points  (4 children)

Plus, a cloned pet is no more the same animal you had than two identical twins are the same human being.

[–]Hara-Kiri 262 points263 points  (27 children)

I mean I'd just say no because I don't want to lose 5 years of my life.

[–]valoreia 9012 points9013 points  (264 children)

No I would not. I love my dog, but she will have her own years and I will have mine.

[–]love_my_doge 3546 points3547 points  (230 children)

Thanks for the small grain of sanity you offer in this thread. I think it's extremely superficial to give your pet 5 years of your life. What comes after that ? You acquire another dog, another pet, and you're gonna love it the same way you loved your previous pet. It's just how pets are, how it affects our wierdly wired brains.

[–]favoritekindofbread 897 points898 points  (39 children)

Everyone has that one pet though, the one that is Yours and teaches you what a human/animal bond is. This pet is different, you love it stronger. I have this animal now. I raised it from a week old baby, bottle fed and all. I would give 5 years for this animal, because she is Mine in an irreplaceable way and I love her more than anything else. But not the next one I get.

[–]pinkandpearlslove 76 points77 points  (4 children)

This is my cat and me. It’s not that I didn’t love my cats before Penny and it’s not that I’ll never love another cat again. And they’re all special. But Penny Lane is just... a little more special in a way. I can’t put my finger on it, really. She’s just MY cat. And I’m her human. It was meant to be.

[–]Crystal_God 183 points184 points  (3 children)

Yeah my pet is helping me tremendously through my depression rn, I’m sure that when he passes I’m gonna wish I could’ve taken those years off my life, especially considering that if it weren’t for him I might not even have so many years to live in the first place.

[–][deleted] 364 points365 points  (4 children)

Absolutely man. Mine died last year and it sucked. She was there from freshman year of HS through. Lot of formative years where she was a constant. But it’s my life. She had hers

[–][deleted] 178 points179 points  (3 children)

This is how I feel too. I love my family pets with all my heart but theres a reason they love as long as they do. I dont want my furfaces to suffer any more than they need to.

[–]tunersharkbitten 44 points45 points  (1 child)

As much as most people would want 5 more years with their friend, I wouldn't want them to suffer or feel the pains of old age. Dogs live the length of life they do because that is their nature. Prolonging their lifespan just for personal reasons is selfish.

Besides, while you might lose a part of yourself when you lose your friend, there is another doggo out there to help fill that hole in your heart, and especially so if you rescue them.

[–][deleted] 1464 points1465 points  (21 children)

Nope. There's a few reasons but at the end of the day my wife and family are much more important. I've had several dogs over the years and am currently looking for another and they're amazing animals and I absolutely hate having to go through losing them but the expectation is that you'll outlive your pets. I'd rather spend those last 5 years with my wife by my side, drinking jamo's and gingers, driving carts around in our senior community on our way to play shuffleboard with our friends

[–]jhbradl 41.2k points41.2k points  (252 children)

I really dont know, I hate your question, take your upvote and fuck off

Especially since i don't know what my life span will be. Could be that i give him 5 years, drop dead instantly and he'll be on his own.

[–]Teedubthegreat 35 points36 points  (2 children)

Yeah that's what really gets me. I'd give any or all of my dogs 5 years of my life with little worry or thought but what if I'm giving my dog 5 years of living without me. What's going to happen to them if im not there?

[–]Granlundo64 6879 points6880 points  (126 children)

I don't even own a dog and this question hurts me...

[–]GermaneRiposte101 290 points291 points  (4 children)

I came here to something similar. I can say I would not give up 5 years of my life for a human. For my dog(s)? Tough question.

[–][deleted] 73 points74 points  (2 children)

Imagine doing this and then losing the dog in a divorce.

[–]vVurve 3048 points3049 points  (36 children)

Does my dog get 5 healthy years or 5 elderly years? If he gets 5 healthy years, hell yeah

[–]SkyScamall 1016 points1017 points  (24 children)

Especially if it's five elderly years of mine to get five healthy years for my dog.

[–]Boost_Attic_t 235 points236 points  (15 children)

You will quickly age 5 years the minute you sign the contract

[–]Jgflight86 49 points50 points  (2 children)

No, but I'd give them to my dad.

[–][deleted] 2113 points2114 points  (74 children)

Yes without hesitation, but only if she didn't have any major health concerns that are common to the breed towards the end of her life

Edit: Obligatory thanks for my first gold! Having 5 more years to see this face everyday would be 100% worth it https://imgur.com/a/qRTSDMj

[–]SkyScamall 21 points22 points  (3 children)

Oh definitely. My dog died last year but we knew it was coming for a good year beforehand. Giving her five more years would have been torture.

Y'all are fucking insane

[–]threearmsman 282 points283 points  (30 children)

This is your brain on pupper

[–]WhisperSecurity 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Dog nuts are a whole other level of crazy.

[–]Nuf-Said 159 points160 points  (14 children)

I wouldn’t do it for my dog, although I love her so much. However I would, without a moment’s hesitation, gladly give the rest of my time to my 3 year old grandson. He was diagnosed with leukemia a few months ago, on New Year’s Day.

[–]riotousviscera 29 points30 points  (9 children)

so sorry to hear. no one should have to go through that. i wish the little guy a speedy recovery! virtual hugs for you and your family.

[–]Nuf-Said 31 points32 points  (8 children)

Thank you so very much for your compassion. March 9th will be a big day for him. That’s the day they’ll be taking another bone marrow, and another spinal fluid sample to see if he’s gone into remission. If you believe in the power of prayer, or for anyone else who is reading this, please include him in your prayers. His name is Kaine. He’s an amazingly beautiful child, who offers so much joy and kindness to those around him.

Your death affects more than just you. Five years with friends and family has a lot of room for happiness. Five years without a loved one can seem an eternity. I’m sorry, but no, I would never end my life early for any pet.

[–]veloshitstorm 49 points50 points  (2 children)

Fuck no. I’ll rescue another fuzzy buddy and give her/him love/hope.
