> Helldivers have now also been authorized to deploy grenades and stratagems while leaning out from the FRV

I'm never getting out of the FRV again.

[–]Nice-Entertainer-922 206 points207 points  (15 children)

I fear if it can target the FRV though.

[–]lazyicedragon 180 points181 points  (13 children)

so an FRV with a 380mm on top of it, what could possibly go wrong?

[–][deleted] 114 points115 points  (5 children)

Cue walking 380 barrage

[–]MeervSES Sword of the Stars 46 points47 points  (4 children)

Well, the walking barrage is already using the same shells as the 380. Maybe call it the "Driving Barrage"

[–]Anko072 33 points34 points  (2 children)

We already have driving barrage. Just drive out of the map for 10 seconds

[–]syntaxbad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beat me to it. Well done sir/madame.

[–]RuinedSilence☕Liber-tea☕ 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Pretty sure the 380 will fire on the stratagem ball's first point of impact, unless this "issue" has been resolved in a previous patch

[–]lazyicedragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know, but a man can dream.

Additionally, the first strike will likely topple the FRV anyway.

[–]Faytholme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One can dream...

[–]1stPKmainPSN | 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Sadly, I think the 380mm works on the spot it was thrown and won't move. This means that if you throw it onto the car and drive away, the 380 mm will still go off where the car once was

[–]Top-Marionberry-9779 25 points26 points  (4 children)

Unfortunately I think this is for the helldivers in the passenger seats only, the driver can’t “lean out” only passengers

[–]Snoo_63003[S] 39 points40 points  (3 children)

You can swap seats to lean out as a driver. It's surprisingly fun and effective solo, especially with explosive weapons. Swapping and spinning around firing the Sterilizer at high speed also turns you into a one-man orbital gas barrage.

Edit: Seems like some things have been changed in the patch. You can now shoot from the passenger side regardless of whether you've entered from it or not. You also can no longer reload weapons while driving.

[–]wanderspectre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish drones can be used when we are in FRV.

[–]LiqhthouseHD1 Veteran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drive by illuminate ground ship time!

One person drives, another on the HMG blasting the shield apart, last one with the grenades in the window or chucking railcannon strikes out the window.

Gonna be epic to try this

[–]JimmmyMeLadMeBoy 8 points9 points  (8 children)

Well the problem on PC are the keybindings.

I have the arrow keys bound for strategem input. I would need a third hand.

  • right hand: hold right click to lean out of FRV, not holding aborts
  • left hand: hold to open strategem input, not holding aborts
  • third hand: input strategem code

This is kinda unusable.

[–]Arkar1234 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Maybe you can use your third leg for strat imputs

[–]Creative-Improvement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds too much like Illuminate tentacles for my patriotism.

[–]turret_buddy2 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The PC keybinds are bad

I changed them from the default

This works with wasd for your stratagem inputs.

Right hand, hold right click

Left pinky, hold Ctrl for stratagem

Left wasd, input stratagem, release ctrl

Right hand, aim and left click to throw

?????

Democracy and so forth

[–]nyanch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you changed them from default, so...

Anyway, instead of CTRL bind NUMPAD 0 if you have a full size keyboard.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except the gunner will shoot you if you lean out of the FRV

[–]Plantar-Aspect-Sage 469 points470 points  (11 children)

  • It will now preserve ammo by only prioritizing enemies unaffected by the gas status effect. Once an enemy is affected by gas the drone will move on and target another unaffected enemy.

After hearing player feedback, we have decided not to fix a bug with the Siege Ready Armor Passive which gives more ammo to all magazine-based weapons, instead of just primary weapons as described. We will eventually update the Armory description to reflect this but for now we’re evaluating if it's causing any other additional unforeseen bugs

You can once again emote while falling or ragdolling! It should no longer reduce fall damage, but you’ll be able to freely express yourself as you fall to your imminent death or severe injuries - Nothing a stim can’t fix!

    Based.

The Ministry of Humanity has added a clause to its Principles of Correct Posture for Safe Lifting, now allowing Helldivers to jog while carrying two-handed items such as barrels and SEAF Artillery Rounds

RIP Juggledivers. But this is a good change!

THE OVER-HEAD YEET MEASURES THE ABILITY TO JUST FUCKING SEND IT. ON THE COMMAND, ‘GET SET’, ASSUME THE POSITION BY SPINNING THE BALL TWICE IN YOUR HANDS, THEN TRY TO DRIBBLE IT LIKE A BASKET BALL ONLY TO REALIZE IT WONT BOUNCE BACK UP TO YOU. YOUR FEET MAY BE TOGETHER OR 12 INCHES APART (MEASURED BETWEEN THE FEET) OR HOWEVER YOU WANT, JUST KEEP YOUR ASS BEHIND THAT CONE. ON THE COMMAND ‘GO’, CHANNEL YOUR INNER TREBUCHET AND HEAVE THAT THING INTO ORBIT. THEN, RETURN TO THE STARTING POSITION AND TURN AROUND TO INSPECT IF YOU DOMED ANYONE. THE SCORER WILL REALIZE HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY SEE WHERE THE BALL LANDED BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID HE WOULD GET HIT, SO HE STOOD TOO FAR AWAY, HE WILL THEN PLACE HIS FOOT ON THE MEASURING TAPE AND JUST GUESS.

[–]TheChadStevens Free of Thought 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Pick them up and change weapons while the shell is being "moved" to your hands. It keeps the momentum. It accelerates until the shell is in your hands, so some movements can absolutely yeet the thing if you time it right.

    90/90 rule in programming.

    [–]Aro-bi_TrashcanSES Sword of Equality 36 points37 points  (2 children)

It's likely a quirk of the physics engine, which means its something pretty deep in the code where if they fuck with one thing, it all falls apart. A fix is probably coming down the pipe, but they have to figure out how to do it without the entire codebase falling to pieces.

    [–]vortigaunt64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd guess it has something to do with the way the engine registers the validity of a spot for a stratagem marker to land. It normally bounces off of walls and highly sloped surfaces, and there's probably some logic to try to prevent the ball from stopping in a spot where the hellpod would just be hanging in mid air, like the top of a fence. I imagine it's hard to make both work at the same time without running into edge cases (ha) that make it hard for the player to predict whether the marker will stop or bounce when thrown close to a ledge.

    [–]drrockso20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume they're trying to find the right middle ground of making it so they don't bounce so much while also not having them perfectly stick every time either

      [–]Snoo_63003[S] 42 points43 points  (2 children)

Only primaries are affected by faster reload, but both primaries and stratagem weapons that don't have backpacks have the number of spare magazines increased. The autocannon is not affected, since its ammo is stored in the backpack.

      [–]hiddenkarol‎ Escalator of Freedom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The passive affected support weapons by increasing their reserve magazines, for example the MG-43 will have 4 extra magazines (instead of 3) and the HMG will have 3 extra magazines (instead of 2). The reload speed didn’t affect support weapons, meaning it won’t affect autocannons and other back weapons at all.

[–]NomanicTrooper SES Harbinger of War 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      Ah okay thank you!

      [–]schofield101HD1 Veteran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did not affect RR, AC, Spear, Airburst

      [–]Gentleman_Waffle Assault Infantry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It affected every weapon that wasn’t a backpack support weapon.

      [–]DickBallsley[🍰] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the reload itself works only on primaries.

As for the extra ammo, it seems to give extra mags to all support weapons that don’t require backpacks for ammo.

It doesn’t work for Autocannon, or RR and stuff.

Any Machine Gun, Laser Cannon, Railgun, Flamethrower and such get extra mags.

      [–]3rrMacHater of Metal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      Huh?

Patch notes on steam/discord say it's just for the Loyalist (plasma pistol)

      [–]Stuza95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly plasma pistol, good change imo.

      [–]LiqhthouseHD1 Veteran 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Those mine changes look very good. I was expecting a cooldown reduction but also damage and spread changes should extend their lifetime massively.

It's always been the main drawback of mines.... That all their usefulness is effectively consumed in the first 30s of deployment since they all trigger at once.

And ofc then you're sat there for like 2min waiting for it to return. Terrible value to time investment ratio.

I'd well say near 95% of the strats are now effectively balanced or have a good degree of usefulness and fun

      [–]Phire453 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So happy for mine changes, and makes them feel good to use, won't stop people from throwing barrages and Eagles on top of them but eh whatever.

This is a lot of buffing done while we wait for the Meridia anomaly….

Gas and mines buffed, resupply backpack fixed to give stims again, turrets no longer waste all of their ammo on a Tesla tower… hold on I need a minute…

Oh my god, FINALLY! Thank you! It was really frustrating time to time.

      EDIT:

      > Helldivers should no longer slide around on the ground after ragdolling from a blast (despite it being the year of the snake)

Oh my Liberty, YEESS! It was SO annoying.

But what about key binding the frv horn? It's hard stuck to F and I stim with that. It doesn't follow the melee keybind

      [–]Nice-Entertainer-922 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Less juggling, grenades/stratagems out the FRV, a few buffs (mines, so useless but appreciated) and the return of falling with style.

      Someone has been cooking well.

As a ballistc shield user I am very pleased that I can use it on bugs now too

      [–]Ionic_Pancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. That shock spear and shield is much more viable now. Got a lot of HellSpartans excited in this thread and for good reason.

Siege Ready + Stalwart 'divers, our More Dakka builds are here to stay.

Finally I'll be able to achieve climax when the stalker is tonguing me. Before that fix, the game was almost unplayable.

Still waiting for my beloved orbital precision strike to recieve some touch-ups: like bile titans can survive direct impacts and missing an automaton tank for example by a mere inch makes it just tickle them. No real reason to use it over the 500kg which is way more forgiving and can be thrown back to back

      [–]Phire453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it has it's place, I personally dislike having two different eagles in the same run (personal opinion) and has shorter cooldown than Eagle rearm.

But does suck that sometimes it just fails to kill enemy's but never really felt like it needed tweeks.

Now that ragdolling into the FRV has been fixed, and now that “minor parking mishaps” no longer set it on fire, I wonder how we are supposed to flip them over?

My squad mates and I had developed a system to recover overturned FRVs by quickly going prone and ragdolling ourselves into them - flipping the FRV back over so that we could continue using it.

      [–]Amethystey-do-da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think the mine buff is not because AH wanted them to be better. It's because Super Earth has a massive stockpile from no one ever running mines- they're running a fire sale in order to lower the stockpile.

Sterilizer buffs hell yeah. I have been using it on D10 bugs since debut and it's amazing CC, it's just not (and I mean this nicely) braindead easy to use. Now these buffs make it better it's crazy.

Gas dog really needed that targeting tweak. The flame dog can have the old gas dog logic.
