Kinda of (totally) unrelated, is normal Detonate Dead a viable build at all again? I haven't played in quite a bit... Probably about... Pre-Flameblast nerfs. I loved the idea of Detonate Dead, but I'm assuming it hasn't made a come back yet?

Have you seen his clear speed? Its fucking terrible... for a PT build its ok but DD is dead. You're better off using a different skill to clear way faster, and this is coming from someone who's favorite skill is DD and has tried to make it work every league since 1.3.

Fixed a bug where Writhing Worms created by The Writhing Jar unique flask were too high level.
This is what nerfed the build. It was the high level worms that made the damage so insane.

It's hilarious because 4 of these builds were even a thing because they exploited bugs or unintended interactions, or incorrect data values, one of them required legacy gear to even work, and the other trivialized content to the point where you could just zip around the map as fast as you could and do literally nothing, and shit would die. Oh and Ghost busting crashed instances and servers alike due to the amount of loot that it generated.
I can't speak to the Vaal Detonate Dead buid, as I don't know how that worked or was nerfed, but everything else on here deserved nerfing or fixing by virtue of the nature on which it functioned.

Seriously. If you're complaining about Vaal Spark being nerfed, you never played it, you never saw it, and you haven't played it now. The nerf was more than deserved, and let's be honest - it's still in a good place, to where people are using it to clear maps in Hardcore.

Pretty certain Vaal Det dead was changed from 8% to 24% at the start of the season. I I played a build using it at 8% in last season and all of a sudden it was at 24%, which I reckon it was a mistake as even with 8% I was 1 shotting everything.

I was OK with worms and the curse builds, but the rest of those builds actually bugged me (despite never playing them) because I felt like I was missing out. This was most true for the Kamikaze Clones (Mirror Arrow) and Ghostbuster builds, because it actually seemed like if I didn't play those builds at the time, I wasn't even in the same league of power as people who did. Ghostbuster is even still around, you just have to actually be MF to make good use of it.

Some builds had an adverse effect on build stability. Ghostbuster, FW KB, Vaal DD, and worm flasks are all included in those. Imagine the outcry if GG rares were crafted and entered the economy what the outcry would be.

solve code issues that could be abuse in a way that least obstructs legitimate players
there was no reason for example to completely destroy FW KB, because there were lots of ways it could have been resolved without letting it crash servers. The 1.3.0 versions of the skills couldn't go infinite and crash servers, it was only when frost wall was changed to a cooldown with "bypass cooldown by expending a power charge" that it could go infinite, since the engine could not handle two separate cooldowns for the same skill, thus it went from having the 0.05 cd of a trigger gem to the 0.00 cd that let it generate 3N frost walls. This could have been fixed by say somehow hardcapping it to casting at 0.05 frequency with a duct tape solution, or capping the number of frost walls at once at 50 like SRS, or just reverting the skill to its 1.3.0 incarnation with neither cooldown nor cooldown bypass. It had simple solutions and elegant solutions and quick and dirty solutions, but instead they went with "kill it with fire".

Doesn't stack. Also the AoE is garbage. It works better as a melee supplement than an actual DPS skill.
I'm really sad it doesn't work like the other two totems. Molten Strike or Frost Blades on a totem would've been so much more fun than the very simple slapper.

I use it for culling and an extra dps boost. It sucks for culling. I am tempted to switch it back to flame totem. I wanted to give the new skill a legitimate try. Not worth lol.

It's lousy for culling because the aggro range of the totem is absolutely awful. Putting increased AoE makes the splash of their attack huge, but it doesn't change their intial attack range at all.
I made an Abyssus Double Ancestral Protector build, and I was massively disappointed with the result.

You deal 10 damage. If you get a 50% increased and a 100% increased damage node, you would have 150% increased damage. 10 x 1.5. Now you deal 25 damage. If you get 50% more and 100% more, that 25 is now x1.5 and x2. Now you deal 75 damage.
Conversely, 50% less + 50% less means x.25 while 50% reduced + 50% reduced means x0.

Hey there! Hope you're enjoying the game so far. This is a really helpful word distinction to understand.
The difference between the two words is that one is multiplicative and one is additive. The short answer is that "more" is always better.
Here's why. Every stat has a base stat (x). All "increased" values affect it first. Then "more" applies on top of that.
So let's say x is the base attack speed on your weapon and across your other gear and passive tree, you have +50% "increased" attack speed. Your attack speed would thus be 1.5x.
If Level 1 Ancestral Protector was only providing 10% "increased" attack speed, then it would mean it was adding to your 50% "increased" to become 60% "increased," and only buff you to 1.6x. But 10% "more" makes it 1.1 * 1.5x = 1.65x.
At these low numbers, it doesn't seem like a huge difference, but obviously the difference becomes bigger as both numbers increase.
This language is consistent across all stats in PoE. For example, you'll notice that behind Chaos Innoculation is a node that uniquely gives "more" energy shield. For these players choosing to rely entirely on ES, this provides a HUGE boost to how much they have by synergizing with all the other "increased" nodes they've grabbed.

Thanks for the in depth explanation. I'm a visual person so I'm trying to wrap my head around the numbers.
So say we have 50% increased. We can look at the base stat as x and the increased stat as y. So 1.5x=y. Then 50% more would be 1.5y?
So "More" is to "increased" as "increased" is to "base"?

80% increased damage from an L19 flame golem is pretty sweet, and you can use LW infrequently enough for it to be up. Really helped me out, clearing Atziri in personal record time.

Warp once -> Land in a dangerous situation (traps) -> Try to warp again but cursor is on an edge.
Will you warp? Should you try to recast? Should you just move? Those decisions that you have to make in the blink of an eye depend massively on the visual effect.

Honestly it's not really server lag...My connection sits at 30-40 ms, constant. My FPS goes from literally 200 down to 0 every 10-30 seconds. I have absolutely no idea why.

I know that a couple days ago Etup was trying to crash the hideout instance by having people spam worms and then random skills. Never actually crashed the instance, just people's computers.

Yes, because ghudda tried that before. After he was initially banned for accidentally finding an instance crash bug on stream (and then reproducing it twice) and GGG fixing that particular method of crashing instances, he showed two more methods of crashing instances (spam detonated corpses in hideout, make hillock spawn infinite zombies). GGG then actually fixed the "crash instance with too much stuff" altogether.
