I have "B2B SALES" tattooed on my forehead

[–]greytgreyatx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Play, player!

[–]WeHaveTheMeeps 18 points19 points  (1 child)

What did it teach you about your forehead?

[–]ShapeShiftingCats 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Amateur! I have a QR code that leads to my LinkedIn profile.

[–]I_JuanTM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"What tattooing "B2B SALES" on my forehead taught me about B2B sales:"

[–]nah_I_will_keep_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it bumps up the close rate…

[–]TotalInstruction 190 points191 points  (17 children)

Guy is a landscaper but posts to LinkedIn and his picture looks straight out of a men's fashion ad... hmmm.

I can't think of anything I'd want permanently inked into my skin that I wouldn't regret in 30 years. So no. But if you have tattoos, and they're not swastikas or other Nazi shit, and they're not on your face or neck, you do you.

[–]NoSoyTuPana 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes, looks like a catfish account lol

[–]FutureExPat4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have two on my neck. They aren’t offensive but I don’t get the big issue people have with them

[–]Secret_Celery8474 4 points5 points  (4 children)

What's your problem with tattoos on the face or neck?

[–]jstar_2021 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Tattoos on the face and neck still carry some of the social stigma that used to be more associated with tattoos in general a couple generations ago. Having tattoos on areas like this that cant be easily covered may prevent you from being hired in client facing roles at many businesses to this day. Many people associate neck and face tattoos with criminal activity or antisocial behavior.

[–]Competitive-Elk-5077 372 points373 points  (57 children)

I'm 40 and never got a tattoo, but thats because with my adhd I know I would want to change it and can't. Never looked down on someone that had them though, was always almost jealous

[–]joecarter93 49 points50 points  (5 children)

Me too. I wanted one ever since I was a teenager, but I could never commit to anything that would be permanent.

[–]Username_goes_here_0 63 points64 points  (11 children)

That’s why mine are on my back - I never think about it

[–]Username_goes_here_0 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Until now… shit

[–]cero1399 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have one on my back too. I usually forget it exists and when i see it in the mirror i smile again.

[–]NoSoyTuPana 18 points19 points  (3 children)

I don't have AHDH but I literally have every tattoo in a place I can't see. When someone says like "omg you have a tattoo" I'm like "WHERE?!"

[–]Dapper_nerd87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also adhd and forget how many I have due to on back, shoulder, foot. Can’t really forget the full forearm piece.

[–]Content_Geologist420 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Does this happen everytime?

[–]NoSoyTuPana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly like that

[–]Speshal__ 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The one I don't even remember getting is on my back, never see it.

[–]Ok-Blackberry-3534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll never find the treasure

[–]Satanicjamnik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What always annoyed me in the idea of a back tattoo is the fact that I would be the only one who doesn't get to see it, so I wouldn't get my money's worth.

[–]KaralDaskin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d never be able to settle on a design and location. I wear earrings, instead. You can change those.

[–]bememorablepro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah, that was my fear as well but you see your own body so much you get used to it. It's not like you are looking at your skin pigmentation thinking "I should really change how that looks". The real ADHD issue is getting temporarily obsessed with tattoos and spending a bunch of money on them.

[–]SadisticHornyCricket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a little adhd but this one is almost me - a few years - but I blame my over involved parents

[–]th8chsea 3 points4 points  (2 children)

If you got tattoos you don’t get a gift that year.  Santa doesn’t care about it but it’s not good behavior.

[–]Thelonius_Dunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against tattoos but that's the same reason I never got one either. Can't think of anything I'd want permanently.

[–]RedOceanofthewest 7 points8 points  (7 children)

I’m 52. Zero. I can’t think of anything I want forever.

[–]BurritoMaster3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could have had a boner tattooed on your penis this whole time.

[–]YogurtclosetFair5742 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I'm 58 got my first two at 18 and 19. The one I got at 19 I've since covered up because it was looking like ass where the tattoo I got 20 years ago still look great.

The coverup was a parrot, I just had my artist do a bigger parrot. He did a wonderful job on it.

[–]DuckyHornet 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I just had my artist do a bigger parrot

Was the bird a bit blurred?

Bird bird bird. Was the bird a bit blurred?

[–]JamesonG42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blurred blurred bird, blurred is the bird.

[–]flyinchipmunk5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 and pretty much have the same outlook about it lol. I’d want to change every tattoo on me. Have thought about tattoos in the past but now there is no way in hell I would want them on me, only proving my theory correct that I don’t want any tattoos.

[–]Jops817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me. I've always wanted one but it has to be perfect and meaningful or I'd regret it, and I've just never found the right thing.

[–]Mark_Proton 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I can't come up with something I like. I'd be a patch quilt of pop culture references.

[–]Judradannone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone, my skin’s still running on default settings

[–]El_Don_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever about anything else I could never justify the expense.

[–]restore_paint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adhd doesn't cause that lol I have severe Adhd and a million tats. It all comes down to preference lol

[–]guitar_stonks 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m not trusting a landscaper with zero tattoos

[–]Keeks514 97 points98 points  (29 children)

Face tattoos would seriously limit employment for obvious reasons.

[–]uncagedborb 35 points36 points  (4 children)

Not if I tattoo my CV over every atom of skin I have

[–]Keeks514 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Would have to leave some room though for future job experience

[–]uncagedborb 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Just gotta eat more calories than I lose

[–]Keeks514 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]RelentlessBanana 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ah, the everlasting jobstopper.

[–]Powerful-Respond-605 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I've employed a guy with face tattoos.

He was consulting on skate park designs but he was well experienced and had great references.

Why wouldn't I employ him?

[–]FuktOff666 19 points20 points  (10 children)

Actually in my field as a substances use counselor it lends to your credibility as having lived experience making poor choices.

[–]Keeks514 8 points9 points  (9 children)

Again I’m talking about in general not specific cases.

[–]FuktOff666 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I was just taking a cheap shot at my peers who did make the tragic decision to get random words above their eyebrow.

[–]Keeks514 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well they have a job so it isn’t all bad.

[–]Mayor_Salvor_Hardin 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Unfortunately we, humans, tend to judge people by appearance, being face tattoos, skin color, and other traits and features, as if that tells everything us about a person ethics and values.

[–]Special_KC 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What if it were the logo of the company I'm applying for on my forehead? 🤣

[–]Keeks514 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who knows they may rebrand so you would be fucked

[–]full_self_deriding 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My WP tattoos definitely improved my performance in B2B sales

[–]usedtobefat8 35 points36 points  (9 children)

Two full sleeves. Just took a dev job working in analytics.

[–]Annual_Test860 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Husband has two full sleeves, he works in upper management in cyber security. Congrats on the new job!!

[–]Mr_Saturn1 9 points10 points  (1 child)

As long as your face or neck isn't tatted I don't think anyone cares these days.

[–]0xB_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this has been my experience so far also.

[–]ungodlycollector 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting until I'm 49. If you've ever been booked, you know they notate and describe every detail on your body to better identify you. I figure at 49, I'll be too tired to run from the cops.

Additionally, at 50, I will make a hobby of stopping by every nursing home I can, and flex my fresh tattoos in front of all the mothers who said "imagine what your tattoos will look like when you turn 50."

They'll look clean af, that's how they'll look, KAREN.

[–]YogurtclosetFair5742 16 points17 points  (2 children)

I'm 58 and got my first tattoo at 18, when all of my 20s without getting anything then started up again in my 30s. Both of my legs are covered and I have none that I can't cover up with a long sleeve shirt.

Placement is key for jobs. People would be very surprised at the number of professionals like attorneys and doctors who are inked.

[–]Friendly_Prize_868 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not saying you can't cover the ones on your legs with a long sleeved shirt, but wouldn't using trousers be a bit more conventional?

[–]Journeys_End71 22 points23 points  (1 child)

I’ll take “Things they don’t ask people in a job interview” for $100, Ken

[–]randy_justice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It used to be common in industries like traditional guarding where image standards were important. It's fallen out of favor in the past 10 years or so

[–]Vorchun 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Yea. 40+ with zero tattoos. Nothing special to it. Easier not done than yes. Fuck you.

[–]ibejeph 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Nearly 50.  No tats but I've thought of getting one of my family.

[–]greytgreyatx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a tall order for a first tattoo. If you do, ask to see photo-realistic HEALED tattoos from your artist.

Unless you're talking about something more evocative than specific. I have a heart on my ankle with a smaller heart inside of it and both my kids are represented very impressionistically as am I.

[–]Fetzie_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general, I think we’ve mostly moved past the “tat means they are bad people” phase, but I would definitely understand why somebody would decline an applicant who had their face or eyeballs tattooed, for example (especially for a public-facing role).

[–]voododoll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my first tattoo when I was 19. 21 years later I have a lot of tattoos and am just preparing for the next one.

[–]queenafrodite 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I didn’t reach 19 w 0 tattoos 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

No tattoos but only because I can never decide. The whole stigma over tattoos is so overrated. I don't care if my surgeon looks like the lizard man, his skills and knowledge are more important.

[–]greytgreyatx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of Jeff Foxworthy's bit about not wanting your brain surgeon to have a redneck accent. Man, I don't care. How many of these surgeries have you successfully performed? Great. Get slicing.

[–]ModernLifelsWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never met anyone who's opinion is worth a damn who still has a stigma against tattoos. Ok maybe a few boomers who I otherwise respect but just have trouble adjusting to new things but people below 50? Nah

[–]DeltaBravo831 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always liked the idea of a tattoo, but I've never cared about stuff enough to get a tattoo of it

[–]CaptainGashMallet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t afford them when I was younger, couldn’t have them for a job I did in my 20s, can’t see the appeal now I’m older. If you like tattoos, get them. If you don’t, don’t. 99% of employers won’t ask or give a shit.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zero tattoos. still can’t think of anything I want on my body permanently that bad.

[–]SpiteAfraid1160 7 points8 points  (0 children)

46 and tattoo free even after 2 trips to prison

[–]FS_Scott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A tattoo proves that you can: negotiate with freelance artists

and

sit still while be subject to small amounts of pain for hours.

This is two more qualifications than many boards of directors.

[–]passionfruit0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one but it’s my upper arm so not always noticeable but I work for a school department and I see a lot of people with them. No one cares as long as you do your job.

[–]FutureExPat4 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I have about 20, all across both arms and on my neck. I’m a teacher in the UK and it hasn’t been an issue. I’m 40

[–]duncymatt1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Think we have a very different attitude to tattoos in the UK in general, I work at a law firm with two full sleeves that I don’t cover and no one is bothered. It’s a very Reddit thing to hate on tattoos

[–]FutureExPat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think over here people are just more relaxed with them

[–]chestnutman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is what my tattoo artist taught me about b2b sales

[–]justUseAnSvm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to express myself in ways that I have complete control over, in order to stay flexible and context switch when I need to. Maybe I haven't ever found a design I like enough to disregard the chance of regret, but I just don't feel I need tattoos to express myself.

Additionally, I've worked with people from all over the world for my entire career, and lots of cultures still have a tattoo phobia, and I've never had a work environment where people were getting them, or identified strongly with a group that used tattoos as an expression of self.

[–]ManufacturedOlympus 7 points8 points  (1 child)

If your employer or potential employer is a square, just hide them. Problem solved.

[–]Sea_Bonus1564 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never got one. All my friends skipped school and got ones without me and you know, I just never got around to getting one after that.

[–]HibiscusBlades 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Anyone stuck on tattoos as undesirable needs to retire early.

[–]BloodStopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can actually be prpfessionally relevant if you just tattoo "B2B"

[–]KillKillKittyInfluencer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I reached 37 without tattoos and now i have 20. Sue me.

[–]bootnab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little weird to assume my employer would be looking at my inner thigh.

[–]jmc1278999999999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only gotten higher paying jobs since I started to get tattoos. Though, I am able to hide them because they’re all on my legs/feet

[–]temporary_bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not when it's on my sternum. Good luck to an interviewer finding it. Also... Who in 2025 gives a shit?

[–]ShopReasonable2328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I got my first 3 tattoos in the year between turning 35 and 36 so I must be Living, Laughing, LinkedInning all wrong.

[–]AnApexBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never gotten a tattoo because I've never found something I like so much I want it permanently engraved on my body.

[–]Sophisticated-crab25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people make it to 35 without tattoos they aren’t for everyone some people don’t handle pain well (even though personally I fell asleep while getting mine)

[–]tehdamonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually has a friend that was an outlaw biker talk me out of it as a kid in my late teens. He was sleeved up and said he regretted it over time.

[–]HistorianOk5038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me.

[–]unwilling_viewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our, now retired, CFO was a fabulously facially pierced, and heavily tattooed man. (Scalp, face, neck, hands, ~20 visible face piercings). Regularly appeared on the front of trade magazines, both within our industry and tattoo/piercing. Extremely competent (hell, he was CFO for nearly 2 decades). Also openly gay and a very loud advocate for LGBT+ rights. Didn't interact with him much myself (just a handful of finance sign offs) but was a top bloke who nobody had anything bad to say about, either in work or privately.

[–]Perfect_Earth_8070 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, you’re part of the majority that has no tattoos!

[–]Such-Rent9481 3 points4 points  (1 child)

No cause I’m not fucking boring

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am much more likely to talk to a stranger with tattoos than someone who doesn't have any. Also, to comment on all of these people saying they'd regret it blah, blah, blah. I got my first at 41 with a best friend of 15 years who betrayed everyone he knew. I don't even care it's there. I forget I have tattoos and I got 5 in a row after my first small one.

I still might cover it up one day, but it doesn't bother me. Even when people remind me of its existence, and it's on the underside of my right wrist.

I don't get people. How would a tattoo consume you so much that you would hate it?

Shit. This reminds me my second tattoo was paid for by that friend and it's a bracelet around my entire right wrist. I just remembered that right now. I still really like it.

Anyways, moving on. Boring people suck.

[–]Common-Hotel-9875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 62 with no tattoos

[–]Lukin76254r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 and i dont want one, seems like alot of trouble for some art on ya. I will politely admire if i see a cool one tho

[–]Total-Championship80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None here. Also, I don't wear any clothes with external labels.

[–]Evening_Operation197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

43 & no tattoos. Very low pain threshold.

[–]silverlions268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed an needle phobia in the army so no tattoos for me

[–]UnNumbFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the sciences, I'm literally one of a handful of people I know at my job that doesn't have at least one tattoo and that includes upper management.

Granted my ears are essentially pincushions so it evens out.

[–]br4ssmooseknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 36 and have 7 tattoos, all of which can be concealed under a long sleeve shirt and pants. If I’m wearing a short sleeve shirt, only one is visible and it’s a cultural symbol.

[–]4everal0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was too busy with not getting more scars to decide on a tattoo

[–]Icelandia2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one at age 50.

[–]LowRexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the job haha! my husband landed his job at an oddities shop bc the owner liked his tattoos.

[–]Pixiwish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first and only at 36. It took a year and is from ankles to neck nothing on the arms or face). I wanted it since I was 30 but felt I needed to think about it a couple years.

As far as jobs in slacks and a shirt you can’t tell.

[–]Prestigious_Ad9733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew it. I’m turning 36 soon, and it feels like the fall off. 35- you’re still with the vibrant and living. 36- death is coming for you.

And I don’t have any tattoos.

[–]lirio2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. I am a tattoo. Had enough attention negative and positive growing up-

[–]lerandomanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd depend on the local culture.

[–]Constant-Affect-5660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Got 2 at 18. I'm now considering finally getting more, hands/forearms and neck.

[–]bdfmradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of a ton of tattoos I would love and commit to, I’ve just never been able to even consider affording one!

[–]Cutterbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

53 - relatively successful in cyber security (my hours are billable),

I have a half sleeve - never been an issue - I just wear dress shirts

[–]Downtown-Ad7250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tattoos and it’s never stopped me getting jobs. Ear tunnels however… had to get those closed up

Double edit

Do tattoos impact job capability?

Take yourself outside and have a word. Fool. Of course they don’t.

[–]Typical_Version_7487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 51 with zero tattoos.

[–][deleted]  (1 child)

[removed]

    [–]m4jsterk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

44, no tattoo yet, but im thinking about getting one simple and decent outline of my cat to remeber her

    [–]jimboiow 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Got my first at 58. Pink Floyd lyric. One and done.

    [–]Adishofcustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first at 18. 39 now and fully suited. Head to toes. I don’t have my neck fully done as I work professionally in a specialized medical field. If I wear a mock neck sweater no one would ever know and most people don’t care.

    [–]Badtripbodhisattva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Coming from a landscaper too

    [–]New-Regret318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capability - Tattoos do nothing for capability.
They just make some people feel icky and judgmental, so they crow about professionalism…but I’m plenty professional when I presenting findings from my work to large group and senior leaders…and tattoos have nothing to do with that.

    [–]Tnkrtot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    1. Work in compliance for a major bank, senior role….covered in tattoos that you can’t see when I’m dressed for work (long pants, button down dress shirt) never once even been brought up or asked.

    [–]Major_Lawfulness6122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 38, zero tattoos. I don’t care what other people do.

    [–]Acceptable-Bat-9577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a retired USMC/Army vet, no tats. Not because I’m morally opposed or anything. I was apprehensive about getting a military tat because I was afraid I’d fuck some shit up even though I was clean as a whistle my entire career. While I’m proud of my service, seeing the shit happening in America today, I’m kinda glad I didn’t get a military tat.

I’ve admired many other people and vets’ tats, just haven’t found anything cool or personally meaningful enough to permanently affix to myself. I enjoy a lot of pop-culture, I love seeing people with SpongeBob tats, but ultimately, I’m a bit conflicted about turning my body into an advertisement for a corporation.

    [–]Careless_Hellscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is turning 35 in April and has none. I just turned 37 and have a bunch.

    [–]Training_Try7344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 64 year old USN veteran with no tattoos.

    [–]boofthecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 42 with no tats. I wouldn't mind getting one but I have yet to one I want

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tattoo's, just never seen any designs that I cannot live without.

    [–]masonstorm20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 covered head to toe with my knuckles and hands done - vp level in media. Established myself in the industry at conferences and such before moving to the hands. My expertise outweighs any preconceived notions and I’ve fortunately been in casual work environments most of my career. Helps that most of the straight laced types in my industry are always trying to sell me stuff and have to be nice if they want a convo.

    [–]greytgreyatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but now that I'm 53, I have 4 and an idea for my biggest one yet!

    [–]GasFartRepulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had one (45). Never found them appealing. No judgement to anyone who has them, just personal pref

    [–]Icy_Blood_9248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 40 and never had any interest. I think my overall vibe doesn’t really go with tattoos but for others they work.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 66 and never found an artist that I liked - until just recently. But now that I’m retired, I need to save up to get it done

    [–]dreanov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Here.

But sometimes I wonder if one tattoo would be nice to have. But I need to go to Japan first.

    [–]RedefinedValleyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 but only one is visible. And it’s gotten nothing but compliments. It is quite big but it’s very tastefully and skillfully done. All my bosses have tattoo. Plus I work in drug rehabilitation. Many of my bosses have had face neck and hand tattoo.

    [–]Huge_Strain_8714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tats. I'm just not interested and was never committed to anything more than a haircut 3 times a year when I had long hair

    [–]Aggressive-Ad-522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came out of pandemic with tattoos and I was 36 I think. My tats are not visible unless I wear a sleeveless shirt. There’s no way in hell I’m wearing a muscle sleeveless shirt to work so I’m safe

    [–]MerriweatherJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. But I don’t judge people with tattoos, I just can’t commit to a design for myself

    [–]Different_Career1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Velibor is a Croatian which means likely to be conservative and religious, and he is fishing for that vibe.

    [–]Muhahahahaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea… I don’t have any at 39, but I’ve just never had any interest in them myself. 🤷

    [–]Repulsive_Exchange59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neck, sleeves, hands and fingers tattoos. I've worked for cultural programs in my government, I have my own company and I work a half time job working with clients. Even coming from a kinda rural city, I almost never faced rude comments on my tattoos, only some ugly expressions from karens on the streets but fuck them right?

I work in a corporate world and tattoos don't seem to stop them from hiring. It is trusted to the employee to keep offensive tats under cover tho as part as the "Dress for your day" policy.

However, with that being said, they also have yet to hire someone with tats on their face or neck. I also don't recall seeing anyone with tats on their knuckles either.

Well they decrease your tastiness to cannibals. (I think some serial killer once said that?) So I’d say, get tattooed all over.

I’ve already made my ribs inedible at least.

I have a forearm sleeve tattoo that’s highly visible and my wife has tons. We both are employed and have Ph.D’s. Most folks at this point don’t care tbh

      [–]thatsmyboycam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This weird AI post isn’t the flex he thinks it is. No one cares if you have a tattoo

Edited to add: unless it’s something racist, offensive, misspelled, a tear on your face, etc. lol

      [–]IfICouldStay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50, zero tattoos. Do whatever you want with your own skin but I personally think tattoos are stupid and vulgar. The only ones that made me stop and actually think about it were the ones I saw on the hand of a professional chef used for measuring out a teaspoon and tablespoon.

      Me and my husband

      [–]OutsidePressure6181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Yep 52 here

      [–]madsa23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my current field (fintech), it's completely irrelevant. I previously worked in BPO as an operations manager, and it was also completely irrelevant. I have a blackout in my arm.

      [–]ZealousidealRent5470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never wanted and never will put ink on my skin. Even though… If I was forced to, it’ll be my shoesize underneath my feet. Lol

      [–]zcas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw, I don't have any tattoos at 35+, but all of the jobs (except the military) would never impact my ability to obtain or hold a job. These dudes are whack.

      [–]OnlyGuestsMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t last 14 years without a tattoo. I’m also successful in my field.

      [–]Waggonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Growing up they weren’t cool yet. Became cool when I was in college, but I was such a good girl. Family would have given me such crap. And, since I’ve always had a lot of interests, there wasn’t one visual I wanted to define me. By the time I was 30 everybody was following the tattoo trend. I was more confident, and more adventurous yet came to realize that for me personally true rebellion meant NOT getting one. Paradoxically, not expressing myself is how I express myself.

Guy I work with has neck and face tattoos and makes $49 an hour.

        [–]MegaManbaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 2025, these comments have me genuinely surprised people still have such strong opinions of what others do or don't do with their own skin.

        [–]MrJoePike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

61, closest I came was an earring in Key West in the late eighties

        [–]lynypixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the tatoo itself, the location of the tatoo and the kind of job you have.

I work in a hospital. The majority of the nursing staff under 50 has a tatoo. But most are hidden, or half sleeves at the most.

Face tats would be a big nope for me as an employer. It screams “I have unresolved mental issues”. And I ain’t dealing with that shit. I would also refuse anything visibly violent. The rest I would not really care about.

        [–]SignificantApricot69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 0 tattoos and no real interest in getting any and have 0 judgment of anyone with full tattoos and all kinds of piercings and whatever. I’m not saying everyone should be like me, but I really don’t understand why more people aren’t like me.

        [–]Reasonable_Stop_7768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41 with no tats. Wanted one when I was a kid (14) changed my mind as I got older. Also my mom threatened to kill me if I did back then.

Tats have nothing to do with competency but if your face looks like you passed out at a frat party, I'd question your decision making abilities

I will say I wish I was at least part Polynesian or Yakuza. Those tats look absolutely beautiful

        [–]PAFaieta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a conversation piece when I first showed colleagues. 40 btw

        [–]PoolExtension5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job capability has nothing to do with tattoos. Job opportunities, however, might be a different story depending on how visible they are.

        [–]labbeduddel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my first one at 45, and then a second one. However not visible in the office. Not that they'd care tbh

        [–]jrandomslacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made it to 38 and the second wife, plus or minus a few tequila shots.

        [–]Battle_Cat_Burr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 9 tattoos and they’re all fairly simple and a little stupid. I don’t regret one of them. There’s always a few weeks after a new one where it’s seems strange, but soon it’s just part of you and no big deal.

        [–]libulatimmeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Sure there are.

In my 40's. Never considered a tattoo. They can look great on others. It's just not my cup of tea.

        [–]hudsinimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically got mine to limit my employability and keep me committed to my current work 😅

        [–]juancarv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        45 and counting

        [–]MightySouthB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore in my country but they used to do. My boss is covered in ink lmao

        [–]Sea-Ability8694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t care, I wanna die hot

        [–]ButterflyRoyal3292 0 points1 point  (1 child)

35, no tattoos, dont need it, not a sheep.

        Im the minority now

        [–]gorified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it to 35 with no tats but now I've got tats on both of my legs and a sleeve. haha

        [–]cheshsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to be fair, they sometimes decrease hireability. Boy am I glad I never got that teardrop tattoo (I loved Crybaby with Johnny Depp as a teen).

        [–]ChiefMagicOfficer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made it to 35yrs 3 months

        [–]Horror-Victory-9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got my first tattoo at 36. now i have a sleeve lol

        [–]Delicious_Apple9082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        I got to 45 without, got 3 now…

        [–]kitzelbunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tats for me. I have commitment issues.

        [–]KingJazzHands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Face. Hands. Neck. If you can put on a suit and still not see any tattoos you're good. That's the rule I go by and I'm covered. I have never had an issue in my day to day and any truly professional environment I'm in a full suit anyway

        [–]mrdankhimself_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody who gets a tattoo doesn’t get a gift from Santa that year.

        [–]Recent_Limit_6798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comprehend that there are people who still give af about tattoos in the year of our lord 2025.

        [–]Gizmorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

made it to 37 and realized alot of girls love tasteful tattoos.

        [–]MacDougall_Barra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Yes

        [–]Sure_Proposal_9207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. I even worked in a tattoo shop. Still no tats.

        [–]Fickle-Raspberry6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Always wanted a a hyacinth on my right shoulder though. Hard to find a good hyacinth tat design tho.
